An inkling of a stranger

The mysterious whisper since a long time
Turned into a conversation.
She appears in a transparent gown
And introduced herself;
'I am Edeath your friendly enemy,
Still a virgin and I give you a specific time.
Sorry, I have to carry out orders from the top
But we are friends tyrannical.

Scars from the past more than 25 years of conflict has left its mark on the city of Jaffna.']

Where the river Ganges meets Yamuna

[Fall from Himalayas and adrift on river Ganges; ]
A free fall while I was meditating at the peak
And I think of Issac Newton's Law 'The Gravity'.
Oh! When I touched the cold water of river Ganges at Dehra Dun
I was so happy after a long time.
At New Delhi takes water and returns only sewage.
Downstream, the Yamuna is almost dead like me.
At Varnasi the holliest city water levels dropped.
It's very strange while I alive couldn't see & hear anything,
Also feel nothing,
Death is really a gift.
You see, hear & feel everything
Then I became a real swimmer of life at the Bay of Bengal.

My Time Is Now

Its time to look forward
Its time to move on
Its time to let go of the past
And realize it is gone.
Its time to set sail,
Its time to lift anchor
Its time to float free
Its time to release the anger
Its time I take off my mask
And stop hiding all of my scars
Its time to throw out the flask
Its time to break through these bars.
My time has come to be my hero
To give myself a number instead of a zero!
My time has come to stop all the tears
From looking back at these past few years.
My time has come to see if an angel actually exists
To find a love that truly wants bliss.
I want to give some one my love
More than they will ever need
I want to be there one and only
For as long as I shall breath.

My Friends Back In My Prime Years

My friends back in my prime years I never did disown
It's just that I live far from them and apart we have grown
We drank and played football together but our separate ways we've gone
And we have forged new friendships and life of course goes on.

My friends back in my prime years may now look a bit gray
And they might not know me or I might not know them if by chance we met today
In my memory they have remained young but in reality
The years have left their mark on them as the years have left their mark on me.

Old father time the aloof one to anyone doesn't bow
And some of my friends of my prime years may be grand parents now
Perhaps they now are showing their age and time has left them slow
They could run fast as I recall some twenty years ago.

My friends back in my prime years I may now not recognize
For time leaves it's mark on all of us I've come to realize
I drunk beer with them in the pub and with them played football
And that was many years ago as I can well recall.

Tempus

Time our foe,
Time our friend,
Time, the only one to mend
All we break and destroy in our time.
Time, the one to draw the line,
Between our present and our past,
Between our first and also our last.

Time the healer,
Time the knife
That cuts and scars us through our life.
Time our fortune,
Time our loss,
Time our slave,
And time the boss.

Time for our pleasures,
Time for our sorrows.
Time for our angst and hope for our morrows.
So much time yet not enough.
And finally, time, the candle snuff.

Orders From Headquarters

Mathew 20: 28
Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and give His life as a ransom for many

Jesus himself came to follow orders. And a great one too. To sacrifice His life for ours. To save us.

Not many like to take orders. Yet in reality, we take orders everyday. Whether it's work, school, parents, or even sports. We are all obliged to take orders whether we like it or not. Why is that though?

Most of the time we take orders from those we need. For example, your boss at work. You take his orders because you need the money. Or your teachers. You take their commands because you're looking to graduate.

In retrospect, we need to follow God's orders because we need Jesus more than anything in this world. He's our provider, our light, our breath of everyday, our everything.

He gave us orders, and that's to serve Him. So how much more do we need to carry out His orders? Jesus did it. So how much more do we?

These are the orders from headquarters, carry out His commandments, seek Him. Evangelize, and care for others according to His will.

In the Name of Jesus. Amen.

Twenty Years Ago

It's been a long time since I walked
Through this old town
But oh how the memories start to flow
And there's the old movie house
They finally closed it down
You could find me there every Friday night
Twenty years ago.
I worked the counter at the drugstore down the street
But nobody's left there I would know
On Saturday mornings that's where
All my friends would meet
You'd be surprised to know what a dime would buy
Twenty years ago.
All my memories from those days come gather round me
What I'd give if they could take me back in time
It almost seems like yesterday
Where do the good times go?
Life was so much easier twenty years ago.
I guess I should stop by Mr. Johnson's hardware store
His only son was my friend Joe
But he joined the army back in 1964
How could we know he would never come back
Twenty years ago...

Kingston!

Kingston upon Hull (i /ˌ kɪ ŋ stə n ə pɒ n ˈ hʌ l/ king-stə n ə -pon hul) , usually referred to as Hull, is a city and unitary authority area in the ceremonial county of the East Riding of Yorkshire, England.[2] It stands on the River Hull at its junction with the Humber estuary,25 miles (40 km) inland from the North Sea.[2] Hull has a resident population of 258,700 (2008 est.) . The Larger Urban Zone (LUZ) population stands at 573,300.

Renamed Kings town upon Hull by King Edward I in 1299, the town and city of Hull has served as market town, [3] military supply port, [4] trading hub, [5] fishing and whaling centre, [4] and industrial metropolis.[4]

Hull was an early theatre of battle in the English Civil Wars.[5] Its 18th-century Member of Parliament, William Wilberforce, played a key role in the abolition of the slave trade in Britain.[

I met him in a Supermarket
My own Nationality!
But his English is Esperanto to me
And he's totally Americanized!
I tried to say hello with my mother tongue
But he purposely avoided?
He coughs a lot and it seems like smoker's?
Then I said; 'Katuwel batu is ideal for this type of cough.
(A thorny herbal for chronic coughs.)
He said 'you mean cuttle fish.
I am a chain smoker and consume three packets a day!
Thank God! I reduced to two.'
I thought he sees his God very soon?
Before he leaves he introduced himself as Kingston
And then I said'I am Nimal Dunuhinga.'
It's sounds like a Southerner Low cast? '
'Yes, Northerner low cast from Jaffna Peninsula
But I hold the same sexual male ornaments what you had in your pouch.'
He disappeared like a jet with his oblique shadow.'

*I have been to Kings town upon hull during my bygone seafarer days and the people I met there very friendly & polite?

The regrets of an old singing mountain

I touch the sky and your passing clouds in vain
Because there was no any gratitude shown.
They just hit my peak and run away.
Sun, Moon, Stars and Angels they all mock and pass remarks.
And I was disgusted of being alone.
If I could move like a good man in a bad society
Then I walk in every corner around the World
And tell them whoever meets about my boredom.

I dedicate this poem to the deceased Marxist Sri Lankan singer Gunadasa.Kapuge. Still I remember one of his sad songs;
'Friends! We are not mountains in rivalry
But only transparent streams that run into one river.'

It's A Hard Road

I jumped on the train
I left this old town
I escaped the rain
I'm no longer down
The wheels start to turn
My worries are gone
I have lots to learn
About the trail that I'm on
As I look around
I see my new friend
I know I am bound
To travel till the end

I'll travel south and I'll travel north
I'll travel east and I'll travel west
I just want to find the road that is best

The train it did slow
I'm in a new place
The moonlight does glow
On my tired face
It's time for me
To try and find a bed
It's time for me
To rest my weary head
Morning is here
There's sorting to do
I'll sound sincere
With my goodbye to you

I'll travel south and I'll travel north
I'll travel east and I'll travel west
I just want to find the road that is best

It's time to move away
I'm not satisfied
I've spent many a day
Finding a place to reside
There's a town on my mind
It's just down the track
No need to find
A way to get back
The train I will get
Sitting at the station
The future is set
I feel anticipation

I'll travel south and I'll travel north
I'll travel east and I'll travel west
I just want to find the road that is best

'Better buy a new one that is much corrupted.' Ape replied angrily.

Time

Time
is your presence.
Time
is your smile.
Time
is your kindness.
Time
is when you linger.
Yet
Time
is also my Enemy.
Time
is the prison guard stopping my dreams.
Time
laughs at me.
Time
is gone in a blink.
Time
is but a mist.
Time
vanishes so quickly.
Time
is not my own.
Time
is not on my side.
Time
wants to run.
Time
wants to stop running.
Time
is my tears.
Time
is my frustration.
Does time have emotions?
Is time a she?
Does she ever get sad
or discouraged like me?
Is time a he?
Does he like to tell me
how I failed yet again,
as I ran late,
and he kept a scorecard?
Does time give grace?
Does time care?
Is time just a hand on a clock,
a page in a book,
or a note from the past?
Time has so many facets
and so many faces.
I wish I could
be on the same team
as time
but somehow it seems
he always rejects me.

The beret must have been a dead give away

To this day I know that
the beret must have been
a dead give away,
and the shoulder flashes
also proclaimed something
of the military unit that I belonged to.

Tired and almost asleep on my feet
after the long military flight
out of the war zone,
the soft rain smelled
fresh and it was cold
where I hiked
the last stint home.

Fourteen days leave
came as a real blessing
and just being away
and back in the states
was really great

A Brand new blue BMW
stopped next to me
and the occupants were
very friendly
and it was warm inside the car.

It looked like a mom and dad
and beautiful eighteen-year old daughter,
but they were foreigners
and introduced themselves as American.

The girl really liked me
and their accents were all American,
but something was just not right
and I couldn’t put my finger on it
and just maybe they were just a little too much
into being Americans.

The man remarked that he find it curious
for a officer to be hiking
and I thought that NATO probably
had similar ranks
and I explained that my
camp was away in the war zone
and that there was no way
to take my motorbike
all the way there.

The woman was driving
and the man frowned
at the bars and badges
on the chest of my bush jacket,
as if the combination of them
did not make sense to him.

It’s another thing to be seconded
to different units
and to complete some
of their training
and I realised that for Americans,
they probably knew
a little to much about our army
and were most probably
intelligence for the enemy.

The girl treated me like a hero
and wanted to know
about my unit
and somewhere questions
about unit strengths
and targetable distances
crept into the conversation,
but I steered the conversation
in to another direction.

The man wanted to know
if we were really going to win the war
when the enemy use heavy armour
and I said that we would win
against any thing that they bring
and it would be better for everyone
if the Cubans just packed up
and went back home
and the man laughed at me doubtfully.

Maybe there was something prophetic
in those words
as was proved at the Cuito Cuanavale battle
and I told them how
my ancestors in a twenty thousand strong
Boer farmer citizen force army,
had subdued a British army of
four hundred and fifty thousand
for three years long.

Little did they know
that my words said much more
and that Ratel-90 crews
used the same tactics
of fast movement
and accurate shooting
and great bravery
in dealing with enemy tanks.

There’s something very brave
to stop dead still
with a Ratel armoured car
to stabilize the gun
to be able to get the shot off
while a enemy tank
that can shoot while it moves
is charging towards you,
but that piece of information
never came out.

And oh, what a sigh to hear, my dear
Four long years
Now we stop to hear a whisper

All of the time we have
All of the time we have you
All of the time we have
All of the time we have
We are throwing all of our hands so high
You out there
Singing lovely dittie beautiful song for you to be aware
All of the time we have
All of the time we have you
All of the time we have
All of the time we have
All of the time we have you
You're the one your looking for

Old Friendship

Time running anticlockwise,
Faded lanes of memory revisited,
Decades old joys
Leaving a smudged mark on memory
Appeared again,
Forgotten fashion, food, culture
Became lively
As we childhood friends met again.

We parted ways for career to fight for life,
With individual styles,
We carried with us each other’s shadows,
Teenager’s first love and betrayal,
Friendly gossiping, small balloons of tears – we carried them all
To finally merge memories through hugs and kisses,
Yesterday revisited,
Time again runs clockwise.

Conversation's Over

Conversation.. oohh
Did it start with an obsession?
Was the writing on the wall?
I can see through your deception
Through it all
I see clearly now
For too long you've had it your way
For too long I've tiptoed round
Finally we're face to face boy
No drama now
I'll stand my ground
Chorus:
Now the conversation's over
And there's nothing more to say
I've had my time with you
So hear me now
I won't stay
It's my turn to walk away
No point in talking round in circles
Or trying to read between the lines
I saw you dancing with the devil
I'm not blind
Don't sympathise
Cos for too long you've played your own game
For too long I've stood and cried
It's time I changed the combination
I'll be fine
Won't change my mind
Chorus:
Now the conversation's over
And there's nothing more to say
I've had my time with you
So hear me now
I won't stay
It's my turn to walk away
I've found the strength to finally say it
What the walls have heard a thousand times
And I just don't want pain
I know I'll go insane
I've reconnected my mind
Chorus:
Now the conversation's over, yeah
And there's nothing more to say
I've had my time with you
So hear me now
I won't stay (I won't stay)
It's my turn to walk away
Chorus:
Now the conversation's over (it's over yeah)
And there's nothing more to say (to say to say)
I've had my time with you
So hear me now
I won't stay (I won't stay)
It's my turn to walk away
Walk away
Walk away
repeat to fade

Time

Where dose time really go once it has past
Time is time
Is there such a thing as bad timing
Why dose it fly when were having fun
And slow down when we want it to fly
Can you answer me
Can you tell me why
Dose time stand still
Time waits for no one
Travel in time machine
Dose time ever take time out
Time rules the world
From the time we raise to the time we sleep
We are paid for our
WE pay to use someone else's time
So time is money really
Time we spend together
A life time
We use time reading the times or time magazine
Can you tell me the time please
How many times would that have been said
Lunch time dinner time
My time your time
Your wasting time your wasting my time
Killing time i don't think so
We are running out of time
Race against time
loosing time
Making up for lost time
A bit of overtime
Time to go

True Love Takes Time

This song was first released on the one world album. it is the only album it has been released on.
As I travel down the road and search the empty sky
Waiting for the moment when my eyes will see
Many are the memories the mysteries of time
How they dance around and whisper endlessly
Yes Ive travelled down this road before
Where so many men have come and gone
But you know it takes time
(true love takes time)
You know that true love takes time
(true love takes time)
And its so very hard to find
(true love takes time)
You know that love takes time
It seemed impossible that I could care again
So it seemed I had forgotten how to give
What is this miracle that brings me back my dreams
All at once I can remember how to live
Yes Ive travelled down this road before
Where so many men have come and gone
But you know it takes time
(true love takes time)
You know that true love takes time
(true love takes time)
And its so very hard to find
(true love takes time)
You know that true love takes time
I have been too much alone for oh so many years
Looking for someone to sing with me
Sweet harmony
My heart is open now and tender to the touch
But there is love enough to heal me in your hands
Ill give you all my nights
All my sun and rainy days
Ill give you all the time it takes to understand
Weve travelled down this road before
Where so many fools have come and gone
But you know it takes time
(true love takes time)
You know that true love takes time
(true love takes time)
And its so very hard to find
(true love takes time)
You know that true love takes time
(true love takes time)
(true love takes time)
(true love takes time)

Original - Time, My Worst Enemy

Time, My Worst Enemy
Keeping me away from you
Time, My Worst Enemy
Moving slowly when we’re apart

Time, My Worst Enemy
Fleeting when you are near
Time, My Worst Enemy
Battling with it daily

Time, My Worst Enemy
Stealing moments from the clock
Time, My Worst Enemy
Until you are in my arms again

Time, My Worst Enemy
Rapidly chasing us down
Time, My Worst Enemy
He will not take you this time

Time, My Worst Enemy
You are in my arms to stay
Time, My Worst Enemy
Has Lost!
