The angle of delight is best
achieved while rubbing
the pluperfect button
in tiny syllabic circles
while the glottal stop needs
firm accentual strokes
for copulative conjunction
to occur. The placement
of the preterite tense
at the entrance
of a lubricated sentence
assures the inevitable
apostrophe. However,
if the apostrophe occurs
prematurely the result
is then a dangling
modifier, also
commonly known as
a pathetic fallacy.

The Twelve Apostrophes
There once were twelve apostrophes
Who'd served their English writers well,
But soon despite concerted pleas,
Their use had all but gone to hell.
The first to go was poor old you're,
Became just your, then out the door,
And closely followed by old it's,
Whose usefulness had had the fritz.
So it's was its, then we'd was wed,
And pretty soon poor that's was dead.
The next to go was faithful where's,
He's dead and buried - no one cares.
And number six was we're to were,
And that's to thats - another pair.
Then the apostrophe of who's,
Where he has gone there are no clues.
The ninth to go was good old you've,
He didn't fit the modern groove.
And didn't closely followed him,
Into the apostrophic bin.
(I made this up to put them in)
The last to go were can't and he's,
To cant and hes with just a squeeze.
Now of the twelve not one is left,
We're now apostrophe bereft.
Now I've misused apostrophes,
And missed them out on words like shes,
But it's a crime to let them drop,
Apostrocide has got to stop.
(OK, invented word - fair cop)
Now writing's going to the dogs,
Apostrophes popping their clogs;
These signs are there to show what's not,
They matter much more than a jot,
Let's hope that writers out there please,
Can resurrect apostrophes.

Don't Let's Start
Don't don't don't let's start
This is the worst part
Could believe for all the world
That you're my precious little girl
But don't don't don't let's start
I've got a weak heart
And i don't get around how you get around
When you are alone you are the cat, you are the phone
You are an animal
The words i'm singing now
Mean nothing more than meow to an animal
Wake up and smell the cat food in your bank account
But don't try to stop the tail that wags the hound
D, world destruction
Over and overture
N, do i need
Apostrophe t, need this torture?
Don't don't don't let's start
This is the worst part
Could believe for all the world
That you're my precious little girl
But don't don't don't let's start
I've got a weak heart
And i don't get around how you get around
No one in the world ever gets what they want and that is beautiful
Everybody dies frustrated and sad and that is beautiful
They want what they're not and i wish they would stop saying,
Deputy dog dog a ding dang depadepa
Deputy dog dog a ding dang depadepa
D, world destruction
Over and overture
N, do i need
Apostrophe t, need this torture?
Don't don't don't let's start
This is the worst part
Could believe for all the world
That you're my precious little girl
But don't don't don't let's start
I've got a weak heart
And i don't get around how you get around
I don't want to live in this world anymore
I don't want to live in this world
Don't don't don't let's start
This is the worst part
Could believe for all the world
That you're my precious little girl
But don't don't don't let's start
I've got a weak heart
And i don't get around how you get around

But in answer to your question about the conspiracy angle, I think that any historian worth his salt, and this is where I fault Stephen Ambrose and a lot of these guys who attack me - not all of life is a result of conspiracy by any means! Accident occurs alongside conspiracy.

Emotional Tangle
(j. farrar/b. thorpe)
The moment we met you knew me
I felt you melt into me
Wrap round my heart and shake me inside
One simple conversation
Such gentle communication
Love found a way in and to my surprise
From the emotional angle
Were in an emotional tangle
And if you feel like Im feeling
Its love from this angle
This tangle can never be tight enough
Till now it was easy stalling
Feeling but never falling
Id always stop before it could start
Love brought our lives together
With a magic that lasts forever
And nothing on earth can tear us apart
From the emotional angle
Were in an emotional tangle
And if you feel like Im feeling
Its love from this angle
This tangle can never be tight enough
I just cant get enough
Want you day and night
No taking away my appetite
So spin me in circles
Pull me tighter and tighter to you
From the emotional angle
Were in an emotional tangle
And if you feel like Im feeling
Its love from this angle
This tangle can never be tight enough

Full stops and commas
Life's full of punctuation if we only stop to see,
like the middle of a rain storm or a lovely cup of tea.
Some are marked as commas, some as asterisks
I bet you've had some commas, take stock and think a bit.
A colon is a long pause for something that I treasure
such as a special friend, although it's hard to measure.
Apostrophe's a hiccup for something that I've missed
and if it's you I'm sorry, for sometimes I'm remiss.
Full stops are very sad for that's when someone dies
and though we know it happens, it startles hearts and minds.
That's when my heart stops beating for just a tick or tock,
I stumble and I falter, a colon stops the clock.
Life's full of punctuation if we only stop to see,
like the pausing of the traffic or the falling of a leaf.
Without some punctuation life's meaning would be less,
you may give this some thought, (in brackets would be best)

Waiting For The Spider
how many small deaths?
nickels and dimes in dust filled pockets...
are we drifting off to sleep?
out to sea?
or further from the core?
we die in circles,
circles within circles.
with small short breaths hurled
on the hairy plate of eternity.
a thousand tiny fires,
built by unseen hands
on darkened roads...
a thousand tiny deaths!
or a thousand stop the world kisses,
when names and identities are forgotten,
if but for an eternal moment.
how many times must i be the butterfly?
the snail? the hummingbird flying backwards?
or just stagnant water in a cast aside tire...
waiting for the spider?

A Lasso
Battle remains between
white and black,
a synthetic truth
and a bald faced hornet.
Aching violence was spreading
on moon. I was tossing around
the stars placing the apostrophe
in the end.
There was a conflict in pain
and the pill. It was a prelude to the
carrier of a gun. Father was degenerating
in his son’s boots.
The social split was widening
in the gulf of posterity. You dress
as a bride to receive the punishment
from the hands of arrogance.

Polluted Waters From Polluted Minds
Polluted waters with stench unclean
are created by men that don't see the scene
in their mind's eye,
as they gaze at the green of money.
Factory emissions and sludge that runs
into the purest of waters that come
takes its toll
as it stagnates unclear and unfunny.
Polluted brains with unbridled greed
create these horrors that unjustifiably breed
dying fish and dying men
as the result of creating wealth.
Tiny streams that turn into lakes
and into rivers is all it takes
for the end result to occur,
the ruination of peoples' health.
How do we stop these megalomaniacs
from all the uncaring that really smacks
at the decency and moral obligation
to care for all of God's creation?
We must all strive to take them down
in every city and every town
that's affected by greed in this terrible way,
so our waters can sparkle again someday.

Elevator
I can't change the past for no one has found the rewind button yet.
I can't take back my pain or catch myself from falling again.
For the net to catch myself before isn't there,
But I can change what I fall into and what button I press.
For the press of one button can change everything.
So lets see what the up button will do.
I may get stuck for a while or fall to the floor due to a sudden stop,
But this time the button is up and I will be falling into a net of hope.

Do You Know What's Behind That Door?
Well no, I'm not exactly sure.
Tell me good sir, what is behind it?
Is it the land of make believe and fantasy?
Or a harsh reality that makes you feel as if you are still standing out in the cold?
Upon entering the door is their some kind of transformation that occurs?
Wisdom gained with patiences endured.
A magical cure that lures.
An entrance to a completely different world.
A view point that is not so obscure.
Suddenly you can see across the horizon as the sun is setting you see all your previous hope and dreams.
And come to a realization that can be still be achieved.
Wow what a philosophy.

for John on his first frustration
let me draw you a house
with an entrance gate
leading to an entrance
door and some windows
to let in air.
just that, there will be no
exit doors, no exit gate,
all the windows open,
not designed to close,
that precisely is success
and failure.
there is a sense of
entrance triumphant
ditto an exit for some
ordinary and even
inevitable failures of
our lives.
the windows are some
of our other options, we
let in air to breathe
for a while. we must.

Woman Machine
She'll do your work in half the time
Never sick and can't go blind
Oh, woman machine
Brains of tape that fill her head
She knows more now than all the dead
Oh, woman machine
Oh, woman machine
Oh, woman machine
Oh, woman machine
Oh, woman machine
Heart of steel and skin that's cold
Can't wear her out, she can't grow old
Oh, woman machine
She goes to bed when her work is through
She'll do it all, just change the tubes
Oh, woman machine
Oh, woman machine
Oh, woman machine
Oh, woman machine
Oh, woman machine-ine
Oh, woman machine
Oh, woman machine
Oh, woman machine
Oh, woman
She can't talk back
With no playback
But she'll listen
To all your woe
Trade your old one
For a new one
They just don't make 'em like they used to
No!
Oh, woman machine
Oh, woman machine
Oh, woman machine
Oh, woman machine

Angle Of Sorrow...
This be me the angle of sorrow…
This is me the angle you wont see tomorrow…
The angle of sorrow who looks for no tomorrow…
The angle of sorrow isn't the one you want to borrow…
This angle isn't going to mangle but he's just going to dangle…
From the ceilings he is going to dangle…
The angle or sorrow is the angle who wont be here forever however
His sorrow will remain in this place forever.
I will bring on sheer terror so be ready to fear
Im coming at you with a spear…don't let me get near… because I will tear you to
Smears…steer away from my path before you get blast…
This place is soo vast but remember that I am fast…
don't let me pass or you will be last…
This is the angle of sorrow…
The angle you wouldn't wanna see tomorrow…

Circles
Friends come and friends go
As I go round and round in circles
Love someone change your mind
Decide he was a swine
As you go round and round in circles
He who knows does not speak
He who speaks does not know
And I go round in circles
Dislike someone and will not bend
Later they may become your best friend
As life it goes around in circles
He who knows does not speak
He who speaks does not know
And I go round in circles
Soul takes on a body with each birth we make our date
With life and death along the road the soul reincarnates
The show goes round and round in circles
When loss and gain and up and down
Becomes the same, then we stop going in circles
Round and round in circles

Good Beginning and Good Finishing
What makes a good beginning
Is with a sacred mind starting
And not worrying before experience
But being calm and peaceful and not tense.
The efficient method is careful planning
And all your selfish interests banning
With a responsibility should be the execution
And the problems to challenge with confrontation.
A good step gives an advantage to rate
It was referred to even by Aristotle the great
A good beginning almost assures success
And to a great outcome you'll have access.
With clean thoughts, broad mind and will power
And with strength you should stand tall like a tower
With ambition you get motivating and get going
Begin well, go on well, there's the result of good finishing!
