Along A Path
When we walk along a line,
The retreat is a loving gesture;
Inside we have entrails, only to love,
So that enticement reduces us.
Open the winning races,
Beginning is like ending,
I face the enemy with speed
As the next life queries us.
Lines and more lines produce
Internal doubt, for more shouting
Incites me to write a perfection,
One finds it again and again.

I Walk And Lines Come To Me
I WALK AND LINES COME TO ME
I walk and lines come to me-
Then I stop somewhere
And wait for more lines
To complete them-
Then when I am at home
I rewrite them-
Then I listen to them inside me
Again and again,
And when I hear that they are not right
I try to find what is missing for them,
Write and write again
Until reading it to myself
It sounds as it should be.
And when I am done
I am quiet inside,
As if all the Hope in the world
could be reborn
through a poem.

The Secret
Two girls discover
the secret of life
in a sudden line of
poetry.
I who don't know the
secret wrote
the line. They
told me
(through a third person)
they had found it
but not what it was
not even
what line it was. No doubt
by now, more than a week
later, they have forgotten
the secret,
the line, the name of
the poem. I love them
for finding what
I can't find,
and for loving me
for the line I wrote,
and for forgetting it
so that
a thousand times, till death
finds them, they may
discover it again, in other
lines
in other
happenings. And for
wanting to know it,
for
assuming there is
such a secret, yes,
for that
most of all.

I write some lines and you read each word
A word excites you and you take it up to
Seed your fields where you grow your own
Shrubbery of words with tendrils climbing
I look at your garden of words and there is
This word growing into a flower attracting
Me I pick it up this sensual flower and I
Seed it in the lines of my mind now another
Bunch of words like ripe grapes I take one
Swallow it and savor the taste of its sweetness
More lines of words in my throat sliding
Through the lining of my esophagus so smooth
Going straight inside the veins leading to my heart
Sweet, so sweet I could have written the usual
Lines of “ I love you, I miss you” but I couldn’t
There is this roadblock, this writer’s block
The lines stopped, the words are stunted
I stutter, I retreat to my eyes, to see
The face of this woman I love, her eyes
Are gentle, she smiles at me, and waits
For this beautiful silence that gives her life
You stand there, looking for a hint, another
Word to seed the lines waiting to be written.

Squashing force (Diminished hexaverse poetry)
(A poem containing stanzas of 5 lines, then 4 lines, then 3 lines, then 2 lines, ending with one word. The syllables in each stanza correspond to the number of lines, i.e.5 in each line in the first stanza,4 in the second stanza and so on. This form may contain more than five stanzas.)
Caught in illusion
Left in agony
Being badly hurt
Victim of terror
With contorted face
Depredated
Walls closing in
Screams of anguish
Desperate howls
Squashing force
Frozen tears
Twisting thoughts
Nightmares
Bleeding
Death

Now That I Write With Windows Closed
and thick curtains
hang
morning
and here i am
in
a dark room
still writing
lines that do not tease
and inspire
unwashed face
and sounds of brooms
sweeping outside
and motors shouting
and people's feet
on a sunday
in a market
breakfast
served and waiting
by the housemaid
unspeaking
you write the last line
it is enough
things are meant
to begin again
this day, remove
the curtains
open the windows
take a walk
and think of some reasons
why you must go
why she is gone

Hard
I try to write about my feeling
Though for others they don't have meaning
First few lines I can write easily
But those last ending lines are silly
To write it takes a lots of time
Hours to just complete last line
My few poems are not even complete
I try and try but cant, so I omit
And move to next poem
And finally complete
I now know to write it's too tough
So to all, who pour their feeling on paper "hats off"
The end

If I Write A Few Lines
IF I WRITE A FEW LINES
If I write a few lines
My mind will open
My heart will take heart
I will begin to believe in myself again.
If I write a few lines
I will say that I still somewhere am alive,
Writing these lines
In such deep deep sadness and trouble,
I try
And word by word
Squeeze out a bit of Hope.

When You Read This
when you read this
poem, i am letting you know
that i still care,
when you continue reading on
the next line
you are letting me know
what i still know
that you still care for me too
and then you are angry
about how presumptuous can i be
and so i make another line
and another line and if you continue reading
more of these lines
in this poem
you are letting me know
that you are still angry about
my untimely departure
that moment when love was
still strong
when desire was at its peak
and then you think things over
how you have been
unwittingly betrayed by my words
and you keep on
reflecting if these lines still
say the same
meanings and i keep on writing
more lines
hoping that you will understand
what i have not said
because i cannot say them
because my self
cannot lie by saying them to
you because i do not wish to
hurt you because i still
love you and then i write lines
that ask
if you still love me but then
i must put an end to all
these useless writing
time has spoken
as the lines of fate and
destiny still have it
we were never meant for
each other
the love is there
the bodies still alive
our hands never reach
till then
perhaps in the next life
at the right moment
perhaps when
our parallel lives meet
at some point
of convergence
and as you read let me put
the last line: goodbye
May God make us
meet and love again.

How can i profess my love for you in just ten lines
when i could write a million rhymes
how can i say all that i feel
in so little space, i must fill the world with my love
It's hard to believe, but what i am saying is truth,
but i want to write my love for you everywhere yet protect it as a precious dove
in only ten lines how can i make you see
all the love I've bottled, inside of me
waiting to spill out all over you
hoping that you love me too...

Deux Parallele
Two parallel lines, two parallel lines
why can't they intertwine?
Osculating endlessly in an oblivious dream
Protracting incessantly, continuing as they seem
Arduoulsy crisscrossing, but they try not
Restless, unfortunate and strange-they intersect-a lot
Abhorrent, one line was assentient
Lines that shouldn't have met-but with Fate's consent
Languishing now, they converge-supposedly inexorable
Envisaging an unbounded union, then one line fumbles
Lines- these two lines now distorted and twisted
Lonely and longing, their common point, now ill-fated
Inelastic, these two lines- concurrent and disentangled
Nevermore will these two lines meet and form the Angle
Excogitating now, these two lines, victims of fate
Saved...these two lines be, once parallel, intersecting, can only wait

Parallels
(squire)
When youve tried most everything and nothings taking you higher.
When you come to realize, youve been playing with fire.
Hear me when I say to you, its really down to your heart.
Its the beginning of a new love in sight.
Youve got the way to make it all happen.
Set it spinning turning roundabout.
Create a new dimension.
When we are winning we can stop and shout
Making love towards perfection.
Ive been all around the world and seen so many faces.
Young and old a story told, filling in my spaces.
Now without a trce of doubt I feel it every hour.
Its the beginning of a new love inside.
Could be an ever opening flower.
No hesitation when were all about
To build a shining tower.
No explanations, need to work it out.
You know weve got the power.
Parallel our sights.
And we will find, that we, we need, to be, where we, belong.
Parallel our heights
Display our rights, and wrongs, and always keep it--strong.
Its the beginning of a new love in sight.
Could be an ever opening flower.
No explanations, need to work it out.
You know weve got the power.
Its the beginning of a new love inside.
Youve got the way to make it all happen.
Set it spinning turning roundabout.
Create a new dimension.
When we are winning we can stop and shout
Making love towards perfection.

I Can Read Between The Lines
Roy orbison/joe melson
Girl I got your letter telling me youre coming home tonight
The lines were sweet and tender signed with all your love
Pretty words to make me feel alright
Then I read it over I got the feeling youre not completely mine
I held it to my chest, where you always rest
And I cried cos I can read between the lines
Between the lines I see youre making believe
But I cant help it, I still want you
Between the lines its plain youre playing that old game
But I still love you, and I cant change
Baby Ill be waiting at the downtown station right on time
Reaching out to hold you, the way I always do
Ill pretend that you are only mine
And while Im loving you I cant read between the lines
While Im loving you I cant read between the lines

Looking and going back...
there were layers of years.
you were on one of those layers. You are blue,
a line of blueness, in between those other colors,
You are always the silent kind of blue.
They skip you and find you one of those insignificant lines.
The years pad each other like the barks of a tree.
You are one of the bold strokes now. Time does it.
They you go back to that old layer. You were blue.
You make some squeezes, and etchings on those other lines.
They squeak like rats.
You tell them that once you were there and you were the blue line.
They fully remember. But there is no difference really.
Your thinking is misplaced. You think you are different now.
No, they didn't. You finally regret going back.
You retreat once again inside the room sit on the chair.
You are a blue line. You corrugate a little bit like a magnetic ecg line.
But it will not last. You are a straight line now.
You watch TV till midnight. There is nothing significant.
You are still a blue and straight line. That you have to accept as a fact.
You turn off the TV. A nice sleep is always a better alternative.

Once Upon A Tiime -Any Lines I Wrote Remained Hidden
ONCE UPON A TIME -ANY LINES I WROTE REMAINED HIDDEN
Once upon a time long ago
Any lines I wrote remained hidden-
No one would ever see them
Except in my dream - Posterity.
Now any line I write
Goes out to the world easily-
It will remain there
until the Internet closes it down.
For me inside
It is better that what I write appears-
But whether that appearance means anything really-
I don’t really know.

I'm Eighteen
Lines form on my face and hands
Lines form from the ups and downs
I'm in the middle without any plans
I'm a boy and I'm a man
I'm eighteen
and I don't know what I want
Eighteen
I just don't know what I want
Eighteen
I gotta get away
I gotta get out of this place
I'll go runnin in outer space
Oh yeah
I got a
baby's brain and an old man's heart
Took eighteen years to get this far
Don't always know what I'm talkin' about
Feels like I'm livin in the middle of doubt
Cause I'm
Eighteen
I get confused every day
Eighteen
I just don't know what to say
Eighteen
I gotta get away
Lines form on my face and my hands
Lines form on the left and right
I'm in the middle
the middle of life
I'm a boy and I'm a man
I'm eighteen and I LIKE IT
Yes I like it
Oh I like it
Love it
Like it
Love it
Eighteen!

A Pigeon
I've picked up your name from the floor
and held it for long on the palm of my hand
watching it gently peck its lines
until there remained nothing not a single crumb
and your name well fed slept for a while
in lines of death in lines of life
in lines of the head and lines of the heart
in intricate patterns that sealed me for too long
there was a lullaby I wanted to sing
but I was not able to open my mouth
for fear you'll wake up and disappear
and I promised myself I would never dropp you again

No Poem In Me/Everything Irritates and Angers
NO POEM IN ME
No poem in me-
Everything irritates and angers
Even the beauty of the morning light-
Says nothing to me.
Walk, walk, walk,
Try to get the Impatience out.
Write a few lines,
To come back to a better Self.
Try.
Despite these lines
I am not there yet.

these lines that miss you
these lines that say i love you
these lines that are dying to touch you
to hug and kiss you

then you know who i am

I Am All Set With You
there is drama when i first
saw you. I ask for a woman with a
red rose on her hand
and it was you holding this
red rose one early morning
and it set the beginning
of my day with you. we married.
we stayed on.
12 years. moving on
to 25 years.
we keep the laughter
and the giggle
each night we tell
stories
how we begin
always...
in this book of love,
we do not know how to tell the story
of an ending....
perhaps we must learn to write
about a fairy tale
how to keep ourselves
happy ever after
how to say the clinching lines
of a happy ending.
