A Stride
A stride balances with might, soothing the air and speech,
Like magic being played for the violin and player;
Musical remedies surprise that decision of footing
As feet wear the shoes of description.
My name is spelt with my stride as a putting on of air,
The same story tells itself of light air and breezes
To quell the misery and disgust we find ourselves in.
To stride is to expound and not be anxious,
Like philosophy and the dragon put together.
May walking and looking become habits
For the repetition of moves, the reasonable shoes.

I too, have got shoes
Have you seen shoes on children here
No shoes for other children
No shoes for your children
My uncle said to my dad
I lost my shoes—small shoes
from then on
My feet crushed the thorns
from then on
The city was taken from me
But not me from the city
from then on
Many years later my shoe remover died
And I got back my shoes
Bigger shoes—for crushing thorns
from then on
I cat walked in them
And went to bed in them
from then on
I got the city back
Even when I stayed there
from then on
Believe me I too have got shoes
And I slip my feet in them
But not for sleep anymore
Yes I too have got shoes
Other children wear shoes
My children wear shoes
Wear shoes why not
Why not why not why not why not
Shoes in the cot
Shoes to school
Shoes to the market
Shoes to the office
Why not wear shoes

Looting
You believe in the looting of few,
The voice of love betrays nobody.
If telling and doing is about
Then why do you achieve like a speech?
You are still, and motionless is another,
For both believe in manly affairs.
The stride of a life is the stride of living,
Many dyes of pain, many are in pleasure.
The voices loudly echo when they follow
Other voices, instead whispering is about.

Magic At My House
In the closet there is a pair of shoes
The stay in the box kind of shoes.
The gray leather open toed high heeled shoes.
The fancy night on the town shoes.
The make you taller shoes.
The makeup wearing time shoes.
The too big but a perfect fit shoes.
The magic make you grown up shoes.
In the jewelry box there is a necklace.
The aquamarine and pearl and gold necklace.
The this is older than you or I necklace.
The shiny rainbow making necklace.
The color and feel of the ocean necklace.
The mother’s mother necklace.
The too nice for any day necklace.
The magic make you an elegant lady necklace.
In the bathroom there is a bag.
The painting for ladies bag.
The filled with vials and potions bag.
The put your face on bag.
The make your lips redder bag.
The give you doe eyes bag.
The not in public until your 16 bag.
The magic make you look beautiful bag.
In the bed there is a woman.
The wears the magic shoes woman.
The keeps the magic necklace woman.
The use the magic bag woman.
The lets me put on the shoes woman.
The tells me the story of the necklace woman.
The wipes off the magic of the bag woman.
The magic I want to be just like her woman.

25 Miles
Twenty-five miles from home, girl
My feet are hurtin mighty bad
Now Ive been walkin for three days
And two lonely nights
You know that Im mighty bad
But I got a girl waitin for me
Thats gonna make this trip worthwhile
You see, shes got the kind
Of lovin and kissin
Make a boy go stone wild
I got to keep on walkin
Oh I got to walk on
Let me tell you, yall
Im so tired
But I just cant lose my stride
I got fifteen miles to go now
And I can hear my baby callin my name
Its as if, as though
Im standin at her front door
And I can hear that doggone thing
Now Ill be so glad to see my baby
And hold her in my arms one more time
And when I kiss her lips
I turn backward flip
And I forget about these feet of mine
I got to keep on walkin
Oh I got to walk on
Let me tell you, yall
Im so tired
But I just cant lose my stride
Yeah I got to walk on
Let me tell you, yall
Hope my feet dont fail me now
I got five more miles to go
I got nine, eight, seven
Six, oh six
I got five more miles to go now
Over the hills just around the bend
Although my feet are tired
I cant lose my stride
I got to get my baby back again
I got to keep on walkin
I got to walk on
Let me tell yall
Im so tired now
But I just cant lose my stride
Oh, I got to walk on
Let me tell you now
Im so tired
But I just cant lose my stride
I got to walk on

Dairy Queen
I heard that you were drunk and mean
Down at the dairy queen
There's just enough of you in me
For me to have sympathy
And take it in stride
I know I had mine
And you were as kind
I am told
Ain't it funny how we lose one day
And a lifetime
Slips away
I'm looking back on us that way
Something I
Never thought I'd say
I take it in stride
I know I had mine
It was good for a time
I am told
It was good for a time
I am told
The love you gave was not for free
But the price
Was truly fair
I never felt so glad to be
So well spent
So beyond repair
I take it in stride
At least you were mine
If not for all the time
Enough to hold
???
Now take good care that you are true
You said you found it
Hard to do
And find that bit of faith that sets you free
Having everything to prove
You take it in stride
And know you got mine
And it's good for a lifetime
or more
I love you
I love you more and more
Oh I love you more and more

Step In Stride
I think you might like to hear something from us
Stand up
Put your hands up
Come on get up
Kid rocks in the house yo, ready to pick up
The tempo and you know so I will fo somewhat unconventional
But comprehendible
Im the presentable good lookin
The mello yellow young fellow and Im cookin
Heatin the house up just like a hot late
Smooth on the groove like an ice skate
You didnt think in a blink Id stnd here
Now your in fear and stand clear
You cant come near this hot sylin
Groove by the kid whos smooth as a violin
Aso the perfect lyric announcer
On the set with a cold forty ouncer
Ready to glide from sid to side
Why, cuz I step in stride
These are the criteria I believe should be applied
Cuz I step in stride
These are the criteria I believe should be applied
N-nnow yes Im new
But before Im threw
Your gonna see I paddle my own canoe
Cuz Im solo
A young pro on the go
Close to an angel
But I wear no halo
I just shake, create, and never act fake
And I learned to dislike and not hate
Because hatred leads to an uproar
Violence is on thing I am not here for
Im just here flat out
And to blow the roof
Kick some watts and thats what I inted to do
Pump it up like an air comb presser
Teach to each like a wise professor
No job I strive to reach high
Make the girls in the house all sigh
And Ill glide from side to side
Why, cuz I step in stride
These are the criteria I believe should be applied
Cuz I step in stride
These are the criteria I believe should be applied
Appied, step in stride you bet I do
Get you hig like a bottle of german brew
Comin clean
New on the scene
Makin girls scream
I you know what I mean
Cuz they dream ofme to rock the place
And put a big smile upon their face
Any girl of any race
But they have to like the b-b-bass
And thats the rep Ive earned and kept on te set
Workin up a sweat
No jive kid rock uprrivd
And I step in stride
These are the criteria I believe should be applied
Cuz I step in stride
These are the criteria I believe should be applied

Broken In With Such A Comfortability
The only advice that I will accept...
You leave to give me,
Is to say...
'Walk on your path your way.'
Anything other than that expressed,
Will only come to delay...
My own footsteps.
And the shoes I wear,
Upon my feet...
Are not in your size.
Or broken in with such a comfortability.
So,
Do not come to try to compromise,
The glide in my stride.
Please don't try.
I've left behind too many tears,
To cry...
From these clear and opened...
Now dried eyes.
'Comfortability?
That's not a word! '
Oh yes.
You want to bet?
That's comfort with an 'earned' ability!
From my point of view...
That's 'my' definition.
And there's no need for further discussion,
Since I am the one who is proud to do the struttin'.

Vapour Trails
Titillations been replaced by Interstate brickface and Coffee-Mate
And by a list of phone calls you'd like to make
Where you could sit on the edge of your bed
And you could stare into your own shoes
And in the pools of light there
Go wherever you choose
Just rig up a complication and if it derails
You can throw away the rudder and float away like vapour trails
There's nothing funnier than pride in an utterly confident stride
So I pulled the car on over to give you a ride
Damn this sleepy weather he said
As he marched in sopping wet shoes
Through rainpools evaporating
Says in this sign I'll conquer you
I pulled the car on over to give you a ride
But there's nothing uglier than a man hitting his stride
(now the morning's over light wind blows)
Past Mexicans all dressed in beige shirts
Leaving over their hoes
Now the morning's over
It's time to let them sprinklers hose
Past hills of chambermaid's dark bare arms
And fields of muscles quilted to the bone
Right now I'm flying over
Yea right now I'm flying home
Where I can sit on the end of my bed
And I can stare into my own shoes
And in the pools of light years
Go wherever I choose
And throw away the rudder float away on vapour trails
I rigged up a complication totally derailed
So I throw away the rudder float away like vapour trails
I pulled the car on over
(it's time to let them sprinklers hose)
Throw away the rudder
Float away on a vapour trail

Having Not A Reason Or Purpose To Purchase
There is something comfortable I found,
In the wearing of my own shoes.
I have never wished,
I could fit those of others.
Or have I wondered,
What it would be like...
To rest my eyes,
So that I could see a perspective...
I did not myself experience.
However,
I've learned that in the sharing of events,
I am more inclined...
To listen with interest.
And not believe the shoes I wear on my own feet,
Could have been easily exchanged...
To feel someone else's pain.
And...
If that was possible,
Many would decide the shoes they pick to wear...
Would be a wasted decision.
With the wearing of them at all...
Having not a reason or purpose to purchase.
Especially,
If someone already knows how they feel when they fit.
Or where my travels may take me.

Walking In My Shoes
i would tell you about the things
They put me through
The pain i've been subjected to
But the lord himself would blush
The countless feasts laid at my feet
Forbidden fruits for me to eat
But i think your pulse would start to rush
Now i'm not looking for absolution
Forgiveness for the things i do
But before you come to any conclusions
Try walking in my shoes
You'll stumble in my footsteps
Keep the same appointments i kept
If you try walking in my shoes
Morality would frown upon
Indecency looked down upon
The scapegoat fate's made of me
But i promise now, my judge and jurors
My intentions couldn't have been purer
My case is easy to see
I'm not looking for a clearer conscience
Peace of mind after what i've been through
And before we talk of any repentance
Try walking in my shoes
You'll stumble in my footsteps
Keep the same appointments i kept
If you try walking in my shoes
Try walking in my shoes
Now i'm not looking for absolution
Forgiveness for the things i do
But before you come to any conclusions
Try walking in my shoes
You'll stumble in my footsteps
Keep the same appointments i kept
If you try walking in my shoes

All The Pilgrims
All those married shall cheer and stride
Like the marchers of religion and gain.
Silent worshippers are like pilgrims of the night,
They never whisper or stride wrongfully
And objectionably, merely they strive.
No mind is against the pilgrims of the night
Who are not beggars of the light,
Who are some of us as well,
Who let pilgrimage be like a journey of choice
That man suffers for woman and child.
Anything in the light of the book of God
Shall be with pilgrims of choice,
Their minds are set upon life of the world beyond.

One By One
Bobby lakind/michael mcdonald
Where and why Im destined to go
Right here and now thats all I know
On either side future or past
Neither is real both fade so fast
So one by one were given these moments to live just as one by one theyre taken away
So one by one Im taking each day in my stride
And one by one the memories stay
Good times are still there to find
When times are their worst
Keep your eyes open wide
cause through it all are moments that shine
And moments that glow
Im gonna be there for mine
So one by one were given these moments to live just as one by one theyre taken away
So one by one Im taking each day in my stride
And one by one the memories stay
Even when youre close to a dream
It can still let you down
Youll always have a chance to give up
So why do it now
So one by one were given these moments to live just as one by one theyre taken away
So one by one Im taking each day in my stride
And one by one the memories stay

Gloriously Vain
Why take the effort to strain your brain?
I am telling you...
I'm gloriously vain.
End your assumptions.
And a need to campaign against,
What you believe after your acknowledgement...
I should restrict and set to comfortable limits.
For you...
This is not my goal to pursue.
I've done my best to ease your mind.
To help you find another game to claim.
Or someone else to annoy if that is your aim!
I am telling you...
I'm gloriously vain.
And doing what I can to uncover the mystery of it!
There is none.
None I wish to resist.
Were you expecting a denial to exist?
I am telling you and not feeling one bit foolish!
I'm gloriously vain and magnificently positive.
In spite of comments derogative made by those in disbelief.
These shoes I wear fit my two feet.
And I stride with pride keeping faith by my side.

A girl in leather shoes
I am a girl in leather shoes
without socks, a girl who has
no need of socks, a girl
who has few friends-
but doesn't need any.
A strong girl, with real opinions
in her head; sockless in her leather shoes,
a girl whose stride is purposeful,
feet secure inside the leather,
a girl who wears nothing artificial,
who takes in nothing not genuine-
And if she should ever sweat,
this brave, sockless girl,
who knows exactly where she is going
safe in her leather
and her strong opinions-
she would never, never let it show.

I Have No Desire To Limp Home With Agonized Feet
I don't have to be in 'his' shoes,
To know what it is like...
To commit to do for others.
And have those oppose my sacrifice,
To share with a few who listen and gossip...
About what I do they would do differently,
Because what I do for 'them' is either criticized.
But mostly disliked.
I don't have to be in 'his' shoes,
To know what it is like...
To commit to do for others.
However,
I have learned over the years...
When those shoes became too tight to wear,
I do not keep them on to soak my feet...
When not in public.
Oh no.
I don't have to be in 'his' shoes,
To know what it is like...
To commit to do for others.
Every pair of shoes I put on today...
Are guaranteed to provide my comfort.
I have no desire to limp home with agonized feet.
After I have met with a group of ungrateful people.
And to argue their cause too?
No!
I've already made those donations.

On My Feet They Are Most Comfortable
You may laugh at me.
And how the shoes I wear,
Seem to be more than broken in.
But on my feet they are most comfortable.
They've been with me through thick and thin.
Exchanging them now,
Is not a thought I want to entertain.
Nor do I choose new shoes to make an impression.
You would have no idea how I treasure them.
Or is it a conversation I would like to start.
Since what I would say would be difficult to end.
You may laugh at me.
And how the shoes I wear,
Seem to be more than broken in.
Laugh as much as you want.
But these shoes you see me in...
And will again and again.
Are closer to me than my dearest friends.

Where women walk with “sass” and “stride”,
Where women walk with “sass” and “stride”,
And men measure their worth in battle,
There burns a superficial pride.
Hearts are tainted with the lie
Of materialism. All are cattle,
Where women walk with “sass” and “stride”.
There burns a superficial pride,
As the snake shakes his tempting rattle,
Whispering, “Come to me, and be satisfied”.
“Are you frightened? Fear is our ally…”.
Where we obey his foolish prattle,
There burns a superficial pride.
We are empty, yet deny,
That our opinion even matters.
Where women walk with “sass” and “stride”,
There burns a superficial pride.

The Shoe Argument....
there is this connection
his feet are too small for the shoes
and he is having a hard
time fitting in
what he expects is something
different
something that someone may
find too usual
the shoes are always thought of
as smaller
than that of the feet
i am thinking of another point
what if we have no feet at all?
and the shoes are all too expensive?
same thing perhaps.

Walk with Me on water
The only way
to walk along the beach
is barefoot.
For one golden sandy moment
your footprint signature
is a part of the beach;
a bayside Hollywood Boulevard.
Hear the shore break;
coooooooooh
tshhhhhhhhhh,
cover your toes.
Your path is unique
tracks now disappear
no-one can follow.
But a couple
of distinct journeys
can match each other_
stride by stride
beside...
Give
Oooohhhh, ooohhh
Oooohhhh, ooohhh
Well now if you want blood with your money,
You can help yourself,
And if you want a lot more then you got coming,
I will never tell,
I will weigh all your time and your wealth,
If it makes you smile,
But now if you want something worth while,
I can show you how
Listen to me now
Come on Give
Look them in the eye and
Give
There's nothing to decide
Come on Give
Look them in the eye and
Give
And take it all in stride
When you got enough food on your table
Blood in your mouth
Now you wanna taste something better
Then just spit it out
Listen to me now
Come on Give
Look them in the eye and
Give
Theres nothing to decide
Come on give
Look them in the eye and
Give
And take it all in stride
Oooohhhh, Ooohhh,
Oooohhhh, Ooohhh,
Give
Look them in the eye and
Give
Theres nothing to decide
Come on give
Look them in the eye and
Give
And take it all in stride
Give...
Give...
Give...
Give...
Give...
