I Am A Minor Player In This World
I AM A MINOR PLAYER IN THIS WORLD
I am a minor player in this world
A bit player on this stage
Who does not strut
And often barely seems
To be seen.
When the drama ends for me
The main show will go on
Without any break in its rhythm.
A few may notice
But their pain will too be drowned
In the general sound
Of everything else booming or screaming.
I am a bit player
And when the door is closed
The final exit made
This stage will continue to be played upon
As if
I had never scriven on it.

When I get the record, all it will make me is the player with the most hits. I'm also the player with the most at bats and the most outs. I never said I was a greater player than Cobb.
Street Player
Ill never forget those aimless years
Street sounds swirling through my mind
Trouble was often in the air
So we fought to forget our despair
Im a street player
And Ill play you a song
cause you know, my heart & soul
Will carry, carry on
Carry on
Carry on
Carry on
City lifes the only way
Street corners and billiard halls was our home away
Lessons learned still help me today
Im a street player
Ive seen it all
Hitmen, thieves and many a brawl
But as you see I still stand tall
It was such a small space in time
I never knew that I would find
A musical path for all to see
Anxiety into ecstacy
Im a street player
Im a street player
Im a street player
Im a street player
Im a street player
Ive seen it all
Hitmen, thieves and many a brawl
But as you see I still stand tall
It was such a small space in time
I never knew that I would find
A musical path for all to see
Anxiety into ecstacy
Im a street player
Im a street player
Im a street player
Im a street player

I always felt as a horn player, a jam session wasn't satisfying enough for me. I should have been a rhythm section player, actually.

Can A Player Find A Soul Mate?
I asked a guy yesterday,
'Will you be a player in your golden days? '
He said, 'Once a player always a player
I guess that is what I will be'
he sounded for sure at least he
was honest with me.
I said 'Don't you want to find your Soul Mate?
He says, it doesn't matter anymore I'm having fun,
I'm still young, my dating life has just begun.
I guess if he is happy and content
maybe he will never have regrets.

Player
Im a player..... girl I thought you knew
When you started messin around with me, knew I wouldnt commit to you
Cause Im a player...... and I know you cant see it in my eyes......
Everyone says that Im innocent, and it should come as no surprise....
That Im a player........... and I really think you need to know
That I cant love you right now baby, cause I need more time to grow.......
But when I do get ready to settle down....
Baby the first one Im calling is you
Oh....... when I do get ready to settle down,
Baby the first one Im calling is you
But until then.........
Im a player, and Ive traveled all around the world,
Ive broken many hearts, and it really hurts to say this to you girl
But Im a player........ and its kinda sad that it has to be this way,
But I dont wanna lock oyou down until Im ready, so right now, Im gonna play......
But when I do get ready to settle down....
Baby the first one Im calling is you
Oh....... when I do get ready to settle down,
Baby the first one Im calling is you
But until then.........
[bass guitar plays]
But when I do get ready to settle down....
Baby the first one Im calling is you
Oh....... when I do get ready to settle down,
Baby the first one Im calling is you
But until then.........

Everything The Others Ate Had Been Great
When will I ever write 'something' you like?
Probably never.
Since you seek to have your appetite pleased...
And I will never cater to those who player hate.
'Who said I player hated? '
You had no problem eating,
Everything I prepared and dished upon your plate.
Until someone mentioned that I was the cook.
And everything the others ate had been great.
Up until 'then' you munched and grinned.
And then when my name was mentioned...
You proceeded to whip out,
A pad and pen!
'Who said I player hated?
I just happened to have lost my appetite.
It had nothing to do with you beaming,
Or the fact you appeared to block out my light! '

Soothe Sayer
Open up your eyes, see the world around you
It's not what we thought it was. it's not what we were told.
Flashing signs before us. they're even reading the last rites.
All our systems have failed us. now they've turned out the lights.
Soothe sayer. the miracle's just begun. what a cool player.
Love is the only one! soothe sayer.
New age, millenium. the coming of the new messiah.
Wall street, big businesses, pretending it's alright.
Preachers lost in ministry, while the sinners laugh and mock.
Angels watching helplessly the final ticking of the clock!
Soothe sayer. got you on the run. what a cool player. love is the only one!
Soothe sayer. got 'em on the run. what a mind blower. love is the only one!
Soothe sayer.
When you walk that rocky road, you need food to feed your soul.
I'll help you with that heavy load, until you reach your home!
Your not alone!
Soothe sayer. the miracle's just begun. what a cool player.
Love is the only one. soothe sayer. soothe sayer.
The devils on the run. what a cruel player.
Love is the only one! soothe sayer!
Open up your heart. look up in to the sky.
Feel the energy around you and know that we must try.
Love's the new reality, the true saviour of this world.
We're gonna live through this insanity. you better hold on to me guru!
Soothe sayer. soothe sayer

Once people start making comparisons to a player of the past, they want you to be that player. I try to go out there and create my own image, my own style, my own type of game. Right now I can't even think of one guy I've been compared to.

I was surprised I won the award because I've always been a very aggressive player and I earn my share of fouls on the court. I play rough, and because I'm an older player, of course I use tricks on the younger players.
