The Protectors
police officers and firefighters
deserve an applause
at times they are fighting a loosing cause.
they fight this battle every day
and they do it for little pay.
they risk their lives for you and me
so that we live our lives carefree.
they take away our stress and strains
and have so little to gain.
a little smile, a friendly thank you
for all the things that they do.
walking the streets, or in their cars
always close, never far.
how many of us can say
that into a burning building
we would stay
to save the lives of others
who we do not know.
perishing in a fire
is not the way to go.
police officers stopping
the crimes in the streets
as they patrol their scheduled beat.
going into a house with family abuse
wondering if it'll be of any use.
let us give thanks to all who serve.
including the medical fields
without their concerns
we would not heal.
we thank you from the bottom
of our hearts
for you have become
a very big part.
THANK YOU

May God Help The Poor Children
He help the homeless children the children of the street
He give them clothes and shelter he give them food to eat
He try to shield them from police the police no mercy show
And the glue sniffing children of the streets at their hands suffer so.
I watched a documentary on Guatemala the saddest I've seen for years
The crimes against the children moved hardened heart to tears
The police of Guatemala beat the street kids to death
How can men do such evil things and not live to regret? .
The street kids of Guatemala they know Bruce Harris well
He try to keep them from the streets from life of crime and hell
He try to shield them from police from cruel inhuman men
His is an uphill battle a battle hard to win.
He help the homeless children the children of the street
He give them clothes and shelter he give them food to eat
And may God help the poor children such suffering they go through
And God bless all those who help them and God bless Bruce Harris too.

We Will Never Forget 09/11
Ten years later and we still feel the pain
So many innocent lives was taken that day
The memories of our brave forces running to
Save a life, not thinking of themselves
Or the sacrifice
And the twin towers Falling to the ground
And hearing Peoples screams and every type of sound
The sounds of the buildings collapsing
and the sounds of metal starting to bend
Will it ever stop? Will it ever end?
These are just a few of the memories
that stay in our minds, and they will
Last till the ends of time
Over three thousand lives were taken
And they say that 343 of them were firemen and women
And police officers who gave their lives that day
And we honor them, in all that we do and say
Seeing the white dust that covered every street
And the clouds of smoke that billowed to the skies
These are the memories that will stay with you and I
For each American there is a different memory
but let's not forget they gave their lives for you and me.

The C.F.A.
You ask old Meg McHenry about the C.F.A.
And without them she will tell you she'd be Homeless today
The trees and paddocks around her house left burnt and looking black
But they risked their lives to save her home and they beat the huge flames back.
The Country Fire Authority members their brave deeds worthy of recall
Men and women who risk their lives though their rewards may seem small
Stories of their courage in the gap of danger have been told far and wide
Without them facing the fire front far more homes would be destroyed.
The men and women of the C.F.A. fearless in their fight with fire
They are the unsung heroes and one only can admire
Them for their courage in times of danger death one mistake away
True stories of their fearlessness we hear of every day.
They often risk their lives and limbs for human lives and property
The brave volunteers of the C.F.A. and their services are free
And seventy years old Meg McHenry tells everyone she meet
That only for the fire fighting volunteers she would be on the street

Police, Fire & EMT
It's another New York City morning early in the day,
Peace is solemnly interrupted as panic breaks away,
Not once but twice, two planes level the Twin Towers,
Years planning & building destroyed in less than an hour.
It takes heart to swim in the Big Apple's deep waters,
Fathers, mothers, husbands, wives, sons and daughters,
Most ran away before, definitely after the explosion & fire,
Not the Dedicated Public Servants, faithfully climbing higher.
However many years earlier the Police, Fire, EMT exam,
A pledge to serve on the job doing the very best they can,
Looking forward to retirement after their years on the job
No one thought about 9/11, retirement days being robbed.
I overheard a hero's nothing but a sandwich on day old bread,
Tell that to the survivors better known now as the walking dead,
A sworn oath under all circumstances to give nothing but the best,
Rising to the occasion New York's Finest proudly passed the test
There are many things that one can be dedicated to in this world,
Like Jeff saying yes to be godfather of Deanna, a precious little girl,
He knew deep in his heart without a doubt this was the right thing,
The joy received from the smile on her face is impossible to explain.
What do you do when a job picked has various sacrifices & demands?
Become thorough via proficiency in order to do the very best you can,
Not until the end of your watch do you relax and enjoy a safe landing,
Although on the job 24/7 will sometimes put a dent in off duty planning.
It's imperative at this point we'd like to inject another very important thing,
Not all police officers are like those who beat a handcuffed Rodney King,
There is a stress factor that goes with being on the front line of defense,
Be careful when you try to judge those in uniform using common sense.
There's a rule of thumb in police work, safety first & safety last,
For without a doubt, in the line of duty, many will untimely pass,
By and through the diligence of practiced procedural techniques,
So law enforcement survives chaos encountered on city streets.
Security guards do not experience rigorous training cops will obtain,
From Police Academy class rooms to traffic stops to the firing range,
Likewise EMS & Firefighters who are required by law to yearly update,
Attending seminars, advanced education, policies, before it is too late.
Scary to be a guardian over someone or something you never knew,
Without knowing in advance whether or not their heart is really true,
It's a tough job not able to make a judgment of what you initially see,
Especially Heroes on the battle field of chaos like Police, Fire & EMT.

A SELFLESS SERVICE TO AN UNGRATEFUL NATION (Narrative Poem)
One sunny day,
while on Rapid respond Squad
Patrol along Oshodi / Apapa
Expressway we had a
distress call that men of
the underworld are having
a field day at matori
we made a you turn
at Toyota and head
for Matori.
On approaching Ladipo Market,
we at the back of
the patrol van:
a ford Ranger, disabuse
and continue with bounce by bounce
movement toward our location
we had barely pass
the second warehouse
in the market when
this heavy firing
started coming from
all quarters: it was an Ambush.
After about ten minutes,
when they didn't hear
or see any movement
in or around the patrol
vehicle,
they started coming out
from their hide out
in hanger position.
On three!
We fire rapidly at them
after five minutes
of firing;
we left six of them dead
two seriously injured
with bullet wounds.
On our side,
the driver was still
battling with breath
The team leader sgt Ogunike
took nineteen bullets
in the chest.
The vehicle was shelled
beyond recognition & the
communication gadget damaged
so we have to reach base
on cell phone for backup
and ambulance.
And then drama started
unfolding itself.
First was a young man
of about twenty three
his reaction when he saw
us trying to bring out
the remains of sgt Ogunike
was shocking.
He was like 'Ha,
they even kill police.
this guys try O! '
and then he calls
out to another guy
saying 'This boys too young oh'.
Police self, look how they
just waste their lives'.
An elderly woman
shouted at us from
the now growing crowd
'Those boys you killed
are people's children o! '
and then she started
cursing in Yoruba Language
I was dumb fold.
This boys they are talking
about just open fire
on a police patrol vehicle
and killing two police officers
These boys fired the
first shot.
They draw the first
blood.
They look life first,
and nobody cares
cause we are police.
Perhaps our lives are worthless.
If we hadn't respond
to their distress call
they would criticize us
of incompetency
now they are criticizing
us for defending our lives.
The society has decay.
They place values on rogues:
nobody cares when
a policeman dies,
nobody cares if he
have children waiting
for him:
wives who have turn
widows
a force that doesn't give
a damn about the welfare
of her personnel's and the
most painful of all:
a selfless service to an
ungrateful nation.

In the context of September 11, there were so many that lost their lives that - how do you single out one person? There were so many acts of heroism that day from so many people, whether it be firemen and police officers in New York and our agents also.

Don't stand aloof
We stand aloof and watch their crimes
Taking the lives of leaders to be
Just because they own the guns
And the knives to scare us all,
London streets are not for crimes,
London streets are ours to claim.
Let us stand against their crimes,
Re-claim the streets that belong to us,
Why must we stand and watch their crimes
Allowing the guns to rule our streets
And ruin the lives of those we love
London streets belong to us.
Drop your guns, dropp your knives,
Drop all the wrapped up drugs.
Free London streets from deaths of youths
Unnecessary and wasteful deaths.
London streets belong to all
London streets is for all to share.
Why must we just stand aloof?

Same Side
It doesnt matter who you are
Or what youre gonna be
People from all walks of life
You gotta have diversity
Were all in this together
And together we shall be
You gotta be a friendly neighbor
If youre gonna live next to me
Were all
Livin on the same side
Same side of town
Walkin down the same streets
The streets that are all around
You could be my brother
Or you could be my friend
But dont turn your back on me
Cause well be here til the end
Yeah, were all in this together
And we all have that dream
To live in perfect harmony
Like a family thats the scene
Yeah, were all...
Livin on the same side
Same side of town
Walkin down the same streets
The streets that are all around
Livin on the same side
Same side of town
Shufflin to the same beat
The beat thats all around
Stumblin down on d.p., keggers all around,
Laughin at the police as they try to take us down
Hangin with each other, yeah hangin with our bros
We all love one another, from our heads down to our toes

Where The Streets Have No Name/cant Take My Eyes Off You
(hewson/evan/mullen/clayton/gaudio/crewe)
-----------------------------------------
(burning down love)
(burning down love)
I want to run, I want to hide
I want to break down the walls that hold me inside
I want to reach out, and touch the flame
Where the streets have no name
Ah-ha-ah
I want to feel the sun on my face
I see the dust cloud disappear without a trace
I want to take shelter from poison rain
Where the streets have no name
Ah-ha-ah
Where the streets have no name
Where the streets have no name
Were still building, then burning down love
Burning down love
And when I go there
I go there with you
Where the streets have no name
Cant take my eyes off of you
I love you, baby, and if its quite alright
I need you, baby, to warm a lonely night
So let me love you, baby
Let me love you
The citys aflood, our love turns to rust
Were beaten and blown by the wind, trampled in dust
Ill show you a place, high on a desert plain
Where the streets have no name
Ah-ha-ah
Where the streets have no name
Where the streets have no name
Were still building, then burning down love
Burning down love
And when I go there
Its all I can do
Where the streets have no name
I cant take my eyes off of you
(ooh aah)
Love you, baby, let me love you
Where the streets have no name
Where the streets have no name
Where the streets have no name
Where the streets have no name

Season Of Unrest
Watching TV, I really can’t quite believe my eyes.
The country’s losing control, I’m starting to realise.
If I was caught up in the riots, I’d be shaking with fear,
But, to be honest, I wouldn’t even dare venture near.
All that people can see for many miles around,
Are buildings on fire, being razed to the ground.
Some people have literally lost all their possessions,
Which hits them harder in this time of recession.
Faced with rioters with masks to hide their faces,
Riot-trained police are put through their paces.
The authorities seem to be rapidly losing control,
And their lack of strong presence is taking its toll.
In some places, are police dressed in their riot gear.
All around, you can almost smell the sense of fear.
Cars and buildings are being deliberately set on fire.
People are running amok till their heart’s desire.
They’re breaking down people’s front doors,
As well as looting goods from the nearby stores.
Many shops have had their windows smashed;
Their goods carried off to where the loot is stashed.
Petrol bombs and missiles are being thrown at the police,
Who are doing their best to restore relative peace.
The streets are bathed in orange firelight,
As police and rioters continue to fight.
Staff have locked themselves in; to scared to leave work.
Scared of getting caught up in the mobs going berserk.
TV reporters try their very best to keep us up to date,
But, with their own lives at risk, reports have to wait.
Unrest has now spread far and wide.
Law abiding citizens run and hide.
People are being forced to leave their homes.
Through the dark streets, terrified, they roam.
Unrest has been brewing for quite a while.
With cutbacks and job losses, people get riled.
People wonder where will be targeted next.
The whole country, this problem now affects.
I’m concerned for the safety of a dear friend.
I do so wish these awful riots would end.
I really do hope that it’s not long before,
Peace and harmony are restored once more.

Quick We Are To Say
During lives we come to live,
There are many we don't see.
Even though we share,
The passing of cast shadows.
Everyday there is,
Opportunities to meet.
But our eyes just look away,
While walking upon the streets.
Few stop to say, 'Hello how are you today? '
Or care to know,
Who feels...
As we do!
During lives we come to live,
There are many we don't see.
Even though we share,
The passing of cast shadows.
And...
We don't dare to bother to ask,
How one feels.
Or...
Dare to smile to greet,
When we pass.
But...
Quick we are to say,
Kiss my...!
As if that was a favorite task,
Mastered...
In a class.
Everyday there is,
Opportunities to meet.
But our eyes just look away,
While walking upon the streets.
Few stop to say, 'Hello how are you today? '
Or care to know,
Who feels...
As we do!
During lives we come to live,
There are many we don't see.
Even though we share,
The passing of cast shadows.
We choose,
Instead...
To be rude.

Unveiling
Its a custom we have
were a year has passed
since loved ones
have gone to heavens pearly gates
We gather together
close family and friends
to uncover the tombstone
of our family who bares our name
With love and respect
we uncover the stone
from ministers, brothers,
sisters, grandchildren, greats and friends
Its our last farewell
were we sing and praise
and acknowledge our loved ones
that have passed away
It helps us the living
to move on in our lives
we smile in remembrance
of what full lives they had
with one final prayer
we all bow our heads
and give thanks to the lord
for giving them our loved ones
to be a part of our lives
So one final note
to my Mum and my Dad
your always remember
for ever in our hearts
for now and evermore

What Every Woman Lives For
(words & music by pomus - shuman)
She may say she needs fancy bangles and beads
Thats part of a womans plan
But what every woman lives for
What every woman lives for
Is to give her love to a man
Wise men have known women cant live alone
So a woman should understand
That what every woman lives for
What every woman lives for
Is to give her love to a man
He may not be the kind you find in picture books
A real life hero with dashing handsome looks
He may not be the guy that youve been dreaming of
But that wont stop you from giving him your love
So dear, cant you see that it was meant to be
Its part, part of our destiny
cause what every woman lives for
What every woman lives for
Is to give her love to a man
And I hope that man is me

Barber Shop
'Buena-Dies and Habla Espanol? ' She greeted me.
'Pokito' I said.
She brought a brochure and asked me to show the style I want.
'A short cut Madam and not to worry as I am not an actor.
If possible cut my neck too.' I said as a joke.
Later on I saw the parking lot through the glass window and some police cars with flickering lights.
'Hey! You are arrested and they offered me the hand-cuffs.'
Definitely she has called nine one one as she was scared of my joke seriously.
On the way to the Police station one of the officers inquired; 'Do you have to tell something.'
'Yes, I realized now this annoying life isn't belongs to me.'

Beat Patrol
Chorus:
Heaven move me, move my soul
Here comes the beat
Here comes the beat patrol
We will dance...
I will help you if I can
I can change the way you feel today
When your world turns upside down
Its time to make the break and dance into another day
And as the music starts to move you
Then its time to go
Into the streets you dance
And then you lose control
Heaven move me, move my soul
Here comes the beat
Here comes the beat patrol
We will dance, we will dance
Heaven move me, move my soul
Here comes the beat
Here comes the beat patrol
We will dance, we will dance
This is the age when you must win
Cos there is no gold upon the streets today
You must find it from within
Music brings the dream machine your way
And as the feeling starts to move you
Then its time to go
Into the streets you dance
And then you lose control
Heaven move me, move my soul
Here comes the beat
Here comes the beat patrol
We will dance, we will dance
Heaven move me, move my soul
Here comes the beat
Here comes the beat patrol
We will dance, we will dance
A say yeah, a say yeah, yeah, yeah
What you say here come the what
Here come the beat, here come the beat patrol
Here come the beat we will dance
Heaven move me, move my soul
Here comes the beat
Here comes the beat patrol
We will dance, we will dance
Heaven move me... I see it coming... it wont be long now
Here come the beat, here come the beat patrol
We will dance, we will dance
(heaven move me move my soul
Here comes the beat, here comes the beat patrol)...
