What Better Gift
Best wishes.
Hoping you well with enough joy,
To spread for each day you are able!
It should not be only on holidays,
We come together
Full of cheer and anticipation...
To celebrate and make amends!
These connected days that tie into seasons,
Should overflow from stored up hope and love!
Had I thought of a gift?
To exchange in merriment?
Have I selected slots of limited time
Thinking of ways to stretch pennies, nickles
And dimes?
There's not a month that goes by
That I find doing that has become tradition!
I wonder if God wants me to shop at Saks'?
Or Macy's, Sears or stores that sell back packs!
I-Pods with speakers the size to fill in ears,
Tuning out everything human that's near.
Programmed for music, TV, games and telephone!
Making interaction more interacted alone.
It should not only be on holidays,
We come together!
We should be sending out those lifelines daily!
But how can that be done?
When in these days of progress made...
Electronics seems to be the way
People of today come together in groups,
To have a one-on-one for fun...
And goodwill.
For whoever is overwhelmed with gladness...
Observing in ecstatic saddness!
The days of playing charades with friends and family,
My never return!
And it should not be only on holidays,
We come together to tease with happiness!
It would be nice if this was done more than once,
Or twice!
And then left to moan throughout the year
About how something purchased for someone,
Was not needed!
Or the effort made to get it to them was not appreciated
At all...
As much as it was expected!
And there is no indication
Of a 'spiritual' enlightenment shared!
Best wishes.
Hoping you well with enough joy,
For each day you are able to feel
And express it!
What better gift of hope is there? !

Sad Holidays
The holidays are getting near
Bringing most people great cheer
These days bring back pain from the dead
The holidays I always have to dread
Thinking back through the many years
Trying to be happy, holding back the tears
Getting through life one day at a time
Out of the darkness I must climb
I can't live in the pain from the past
Please let it be over, don't let it last
I love the warmth from the summer sun
So let this time of year be done
I like the green grass and flowers in bloom
They make me happiest, instead of this gloom
So hurry up summer and come back around
And I won't be sad, happiness I'd have found
I have a good life and what's wrong with me
When the holidays come, I can't feel free!

Good Tidings, Goodwill and Lots of Cheer
I just want to say,
During these holidays...
May every wish you dream,
Brings blessings fulfilled.
And the arrival of special gifts,
Coming your way without delay.
This is the season many reminisce,
Those cherished times...
With those often missed.
Hold all of these moments close to your heart.
Everyday throughout the year.
As joy and happiness,
Touches all that is treasured...
With such good tidings,
Goodwill and lots of cheer.
Happy holidays to you always.
Given with my wish...
These days bestowed upon you bring,
A fresh and crispness to unwrap and delight.
To sparkle and surprise.
Lifting you to shine and glow bright.
As the silent peaceful night...
Welcomes the magic witnessed at Sunrise.
Happy holidays,
To you always.
These days and throughout the year.

Holiday Yets
You know the holidays
are the best
and the worst.
Expectations rise
to levels so high
that they surely
cannot ever be reached.
Then there is the commercialization
and the money we all feel we need
to buy the gifts
which our relatives
may or may not need.
While joy in the giving
is there
also the feeling that
you don't have enough money
to participate
or your gift
is not as good a gift
as the other one
the brother-in-law gives;
you know the brother-in-law
who gives
just to throw
his money around.
.
Oh how I wish the
holidays
had more celebration in them.
And then the bills
come in January
preceded by New Year's Eve
New Year's Eve that can be both anxiety-ridden
and wonderful.
What have I achieved this year?
If dating
who is this person
and will they be there next year?
Or my God
they just might be
and I don't know how
I feel about that'
or worse I could be
all alone next New Years Eve.
Yes, the holidays;
wonderful
and as I say;
Yet?
Let me out of the holidays
I need a year
to rest.

Summer holidays
The greatest time of the year
Summer holidays
Much freedom and a pint of beer
Summer holidays
Just do what you want
There’s no need to pant
Just have some fun with your friends
Summer holidays
You got even time to watch the ants
Summer holidays
Don’t ever dare to think of school
Summer holidays have no rules
Meet friends, have fun or just chill out
Buy milk, go swim or eat an ice upon a roundabout
You understand what they are like?
Summer holidays are the time of your life!

The Holidays Are For Those Not Alone
THE HOLIDAYS ARE FOR THOSE NOT ALONE
The holidays are for those not alone-
For the alone the holidays rub in the pain
Everyone else has someone who cares-
For the alone
There is no one and nothing-
Only greater envy and sadness and sense of loss-
For the alone
There are no holidays
Only special days of pain and more hurt.

Do You Remember Me?
When you can’t sleep at night,
and you’re all alone in the twilight,
turn those nightmares in to dreams,
by building up your self-esteem,
just dig deep in to your memory,
and remember someone like me.
Do you remember happier days,
full of fun filled holidays,
where you could do,
whatever you wanted to,
as love came so easily,
to people like you and me.
In dark and doubtful times,
we all need pleasant signs,
to stem the flow of tears,
so look back through the years,
pull out those special memories,
for they’re guaranteed to please.
Do you remember better days,
full of sunshine rays,
where your wishes came true,
and happiness always followed you,
then you must have remembered me,
for I always made you happy.

Choice Days To Live
Pending are,
Those choice days to live.
None to repeat.
None wished to relive...
Just for the benefit of it!
And I sit reminiscing,
All that I've missed.
When happiness had,
I let slip away to dismiss.
Pending are,
Days of joy to return.
Holidays I spent...
With those who shared their sentiments.
Remembering days of youth,
Like a flash of light that has passed.
Now I'm left to wonder...
How many choice days I get to pick,
Do I really have...
To treasure and choose as I wish.

Sunday Break
All made me busy
That came in my way
shopping, laughing friends
I did not noticed
Time was running
Like a bullet out of gun
I kept myself
In my wishes so big
My hands were empty
When I looked at them
As empty as schools in holidays
Or office at sundays
My mind was full of many wishes
Sunday was too short
To have my all wishes
Time ran out
And I did nothing but to pass the time
I killed the time
Now night so precious to relax
Tomorrow will be another day
People will hurry
To make the world populous
Traffic will be jammed
Minds will be tortured

The Only Gift That I Need
You'll be leaving for the winter, but I won't see that it's true
It's the right thing for you, but it's tough to be moved
With the holiday spirt, when to tell you the truth
I had big plans for Christmas, and high hopes for you.
Chorus:
I want you here by my side!
Cold nights
and fires
and white wine
And dreams of holidays have come, but I'll wait for spring to bring you to me
Only gift that I need.
I'll be living off your phone calls and your letters and your post cards
Every single word is like a secret wish come true
Who cares if were apart for the big days
since the small ones made me fall in love with you (fall in love with you).
Chorus:
I want you here by my side!
Cold nights
and fires
and white wine
And dreams of holidays have come, but I'll wait for spring to bring you to me
Only gift that I need.
Only gift that I need.
Only gift that I need.
Only gift that I need.

December
It’s with trepidation and mixed emotions that I arrive here.
It’s a month of giving, but means loss of another year.
Another year that has expired as I celebrate the holidays.
I cherish society’s true gifts and lament its hollow ways.
Its true gifts are the freedoms for which so many have died.
Hollow ways are by a few who have cheated and lied.
Best of all are the gifts of being with dear family and friends,
Good wishes, hugs and kisses with the love that this sends.
I’ll cleanse my mind so that the only things I’ll remember
Are future positives nurtured by this joyous December.

Some Happy People Take Holidays (Trijan Refrain)
Some happy people take holidays
and its when you and I
love to dine out, to dance and play
while summer days rush by
and with delight moments drag on
and in a flash the night is gone
and with delight,
and with delight
to me you are the only one.
Some happy people take holidays
couples whose love is strong
bathe for hours in the sun's hot rays,
together they belong
with endless love, drawing them near
when they act without any fear
with endless love,
with endless love,
and jubilant they do appear
Some happy people take holidays
while some are separate
and are set with life in their ways
but do not love or hate
to me you are like a goddess
in your new lovely rose-red dress
to me you are,
to me you are
the one that I want to caress.

Every Time Christmas Comes Around
(McDonaldHarris)
Old man winter's coming on
The nights are long and the days are gray
The fading sound of the robin's song
Summer days seem a lifetime away
It's the time that we look to each other
To raise our spirits and chase the blues away
That time of year when we all get together
I see it comin' I can hardly wait
[Chorus:]
It's all right I can't stop thinkin' 'bout it
It's a good life no time to be sad
I feel so right every time christmas comes around
Children's laughter and the snow on the ground
Starts lifting my heart up baby
I feel the love and the joy all around
That's how I know that it's christmas darlin'
So glad that we've still got each other
And this love is a gift we'll exchange
A prayer for peace for my sisters and brothers
Let's ring the bell and bring on the holidays
[Chorus]

With Anticipation Growing As Those Holidays Approach
Words of clarity.
Deep meaning.
And sincere.
'Look...
You have chosen me,
To be your competitor.
I'm not thinking about your ass! '
And as the season of Fall begins,
With anticipation growing as those holidays approach.
There in our hearts are those tender sentiments.
To be shared and reminisced,
Today and in future seasons.
'Hey, look pal...
Screw you too!
I don't have time for this.
Are you going to use that damn shopping cart or not?
Fool! '
~What did you call me? ~
'I called you a fool, fool! '
And we pray to express out gratitude at Thanksgiving.
We unwrap those saved selected ornaments,
To decorate our homes and the beautiful Christmas Tree!
And we do this with love in out hearts!
'If I had change to give you,
I would have given it to you.
Look...
If you don't stop ringing that bell in my face,
I am going to tell the manager of this store
You are out here creating a disturbance.
Am I making myself clear?
You people always looking for hand outs! '
*What do you mean by 'you' people? *

Happy Holidays To All
The season for the joyful,
Brings with it a spirit of happiness lifted.
And those memories within us,
That seem never to cease...
As another year appears to draw to an end,
With promises to inspire...
An anticipation of gladness that begins.
The season for the joyful,
Brings together those far and near.
In a celebration all can share...
Felt as brisk winds fill the air,
With a freshness sought in the atmosphere.
And a witnessing of an acknowledgement...
There is an infectious feeling of cheer.
Happy holidays to all.
And to all those blessings received.
To indeed know those blessings to us come,
With an intent to keep desiring in our wishes...
That everyone this season before it leaves,
Discovers the connection between joy and faith.
And this comprehension is kept to please!

Sleeping Like Napping Cats
We guzzle up quick those sporting events.
With a rushing done to ease our minds,
From serious thinking to keep common sense...
Prioritized as we survive.
Or...
Something done today as a joke to be made.
And if one laughs too loudly...
Of course we assume that one to be crazed.
We spend more time to be entertained.
Believing the thought process,
Should be left on the shoulders...
Of those we elect to do that best.
Hoping their main concern,
Is to preserve and protect 'our' interests kept.
We are convinced our freedoms are under attack.
But depending on the time of the year and the season,
We wish for the holidays to bring them back.
And when no attention is paid to our daily acts,
We accuse those in politics to be distracted.
Lacking in skills and sleeping like napping cats.

He'll Be Back
I know better than anybody how it feels to want somebody so bad after you break up
Still
(Looking for that phone call)
Still
(Even when they don't)
Still ain't ready to walk away and call it all over
Act like you wasn't listening when they told ya
They don't wanna be with you anymore
Stuck in your ways, you choose to ignore
'Cause in your mind, you're still together
Thought it would last but there's no forever
Walked out on you with no call, no letter
When he realize it don't get no better
Chorus:
He'll be back
To make up for the lonely days
He'll be back
When things ain't working out his way
He'll be back
When he sees that it's not the same
He'll be back (he'll be back)
He'll be back (he'll be back)
He'll be back
He knows he's gonna need his lady
He'll be back
When his boys say he must be crazy
He'll be back
He'll know he made a big mistake
He'll be back (he'll be back)
He'll be back (he'll be back)
He'll be back
You don't want to believe it but you see it happening
Wakes you up out of your sleep, out of the dreams you're having
Still
(Looking for his return)
Still
(Hoping that he's gonna learn)
Wake up and realize the truth, make some time for you
What's he trying to do to you
Miss him more as days go by
Try your hardest not to cry and keep hope alive
'Cause in your mind, you're still together
Thought it would last but there's no forever
Walked out on you with no call, no letter
When he realize it don't get no better
He'll be back
To make up for the lonely days

Schooldays
If ever you think about the happiest days of your life
Cast back your mind for a while
And remember the time when you were a child.
Dont think of things that make you sad,
Just remember all the good times that you had.
Do you remember only happy days,
Full of flaming junes and summer holidays?
Or do you remember those stormy novembers
When we walked in the wind and the rain?
Schooldays were such happy days
Now they seem so far away,
I remember and Ill always treasure.
Schooldays were the happiest days of your life
But we never appreciate the good times we have
Until its too late.
I miss all the acquaintances we made
And Id go back if I could only find a way,
Schooldays were the happiest days
Though at the time they filled me with dismay.
We only remember what we choose to remember.
When I was a schoolboy I loathed regulations and rules
I hated my textbooks and my school uniform,
cos it made me conform,
And teachers were always disobeyed,
But Id go back if I could only find a way.
Schooldays were the happiest days,
Now they seem so far away.
I remember and Ill always treasure
Schooldays were the happiest days of your life
But we never appreciate the good times we have
Until its too late.
Now I wish I hadnt strayed,
And Id go back if I could only find a way.
Schooldays.
