I wrote this poem while My grandfather was in the hospital, unfortunately, he passed 2 days later. R.I.P Feb 11/08
My dear papa, please if you will hold on.
Find your inner strength, I don't know how to cope if you are gone.
Remember those good old days when you would take me for a tractor ride,
Or remember those good ol days, Where i was always right by your side.
You've always been a dear friend to me, I'm thankful you are in my heart.
It's too soon for you to go now, I'm not ready for you to part.
You've always had my back, I looked up to you, and still do.
Why are these bad things happening to my papa, whom is you.

Oh some times I think back to when I was younger
Life was so much simpler then
Dad would be up at dawn

God Only Knows
Sitting around in chats,
With those looking back...
At those 'good ole days',
Are not scenes I welcome.
Since those days I lived,
Back then 'when'...
I remember mostly as unpleasant.
To rate those days,
I would say...
Good to the riddence of them.
Not that I didn't have 'some' good times.
I do remember some of them.
But where would I put them,
On a scale of 'good and plenty'?
Some I 'weeded' through...
With beer or a glass of wine.
At other moments,
I was losing family and friends.
And attending their funerals...
Numbed and in denial.
Crying...
Home alone.
I now have my peace of mind.
And a life I can declared,

After spending most of it in despair.
