Today's Teenage Youth

Gutsy with a bit of motsy tongue tarts lipped.
Today's teenage youth,
Will say and choose the most outlandish,
Explanations...
For their 'accepted' activities.

'Dad...
I need the keys for your car.'

*You wrecked your mother's car,
Just last week.*

'That had nothing to do with you.
I never drank beer or smoked weed in your car.
And besides,
I passed the police roadside test.
And you didn't say a word about being proud of me.
Uncle Louie was the only one! '

*Well...
Borrow your Uncle Louie's car.*

'And put gas in it too?
No way! '

Louie Louie

Louie, Louie, me gotta go. Louie, Louie, me gotta go.
A fine little girl, she wait for me. Me catch the ship across the sea.
I sailed the ship all alone. I never think I'll make it home.
Louie, Louie, me gotta go. Louie, Louie, me gotta go.
Three nights and days we sailed the sea. Me think of girl constantly.
On the ship, I dream she there. I smell the rose in her hair.
Louie, Louie, me gotta go. Louie, Louie, me gotta go.
Me see Jamaican moon above. It won't be long me see me love.
Me take her in my arms and then. I tell her I never leave again.

Lou-ee, Lou-ee

Sittin' here in your room
I've been listen' to the freeway and the moon
Shinin' through
Broken windows I've been waitin' for ya singin'
Louie louie louie lou-ee
When ya gonna come back home
Louie louie louie lou-ii
You know I hate to see you cry
Sittin' on the hood of your car
Starin' up at the sky, wishin' on a fallin' star
You come so far
I get no response, I just keep on waiting
Louie louie louie lou-ee
When ya gonna come back home
Louie louie louie lou-ii
You know I hate to be alone

Wile Watching the Black and White TV

Your old man
came into the lounge
where you were watching
black and white TV

and your mother was standing
talking to an uncle
it's the baker
your old man said

he wants his £50
what £50?
your mother asked
the £50 I owe him

well pay him
your mother said
I can't
I don't have it

you watched
the cowboy film
with half interest
you took a glance

at the debtor
well tell him
you'll pay him
next week

your mother said
I told him that
last week
your old man said

what did you want
to borrow £50
from the baker for?
your mother asked

her cheeks getting flushed
to buy my new suit
what new suit?
the one I'm having made

you noticed
your old man's
moustache flicker
and he stroked it

as he did
when cornered
your mother
breathed heavy

and you looked
at the uncle
ok
the uncle said

here's the £50
go pay him
what you owe
to get him off your back

but you better pay me back
or I'll bust your head
sure I will
your old man said

going out of the room
clutching the money
in his palm
your mother sighed

and the uncle
put away his wallet
into an inside pocket
and you saw that one

of the cowboys
on the black and white
TV screen
had been shot

and died
the other looked angry
and ugly
and mean.

Louie Louie, Go Home

Well i, well I left my wife and child (louie, go back home)
Yeah, my conscience is about to drive me wild, yeah (louie, go back home)
A little voice inside of my head goes on and on (louie, go back home)
It says louie, louie, louie
You better come back home
Well i, well I thought I make it by myself, yeah (louie, go back home)
Oh, but my baby, shes got my heart a-upon the shelve (louie, go back home)
Oh well i, well I can still hear her moan (louie, go back home)
Theyre crying louie, louie, louie
You better go back home
You better go back home, yeah
You better go back home, yeah
You better go back home
Oh yeah, you better go back home
You better go back aho aho ahome, ahome yeah yeah
Home ahome ahome
Just to go back ahome ahome ahome
Driving home, yeah, home
Just a little bit louder now (just a little bit louder)
Just a little bit louder now (just a little bit louder)
Just a little bit louder (just a little bit louder)
Well, Im going home (just a little bit louder)
Well, Im going home, yeah
Ooh, Im going back, back, back, back, back, to my home
Yeah home
Home sweet home
Im going back home, ooh
Im going home, yeah
Im going home, yeah
Im going home, yeah
Im going home, yeah
Back to my baby
Back to where they need me

Over Dose

As i got into the van i smelled weed
sweet weed the one thing i craved
as my best friend looked at me
she took 3 hits and passed it to me
i took a look at it and as i took a hit
i began to smile
the wanting for it was gone
with every hit i could feel my troubles leaving
we passed it around till it was done
then we went to the store and bought a 40
as me and my friend passed it back and forth
the horrible taste sat in my mouth
once again i craved weed
she rolled another and passed it back
i took more hits ever time
i got a little sick but kept going
i drank more too
the next day was the same
we smoked 5 joints
drank a whole bottle of whine
and drank some beer
the next day was the same
except the second night i did it
no matter how much i tried
i couldnt cry
even though the feeling was there
as my friend watched me get sick
from the over dose
i closed my eyes
i remember crying make it stop
and her light voice saying its ok
you will be fine i promise
when i look back on those nights
i wish it would have killed me some times
but that was last weekend so the past
is the past and theres always other days.

Uncle Fred and The Sand Dance

Your Uncle Fred
on Christmas Eve
at Gran's house

when you were a kid
did the sand dance
wearing an old fashion

man's striped nightgown
and a red fez
(he got that in Egypt

during WW2
Gran said)
and brown

open toed sandals
and Uncle Ed
turned the handle

of the windup gramophone
where an old
78rpm record

was playing
and there were
glasses of sherry

being consumed
and cigarettes being smoked
and you sat watching

clapping your hands
and Gran would get up
afterwards

and do her Can-Can
like she used to
as she young woman

on the stage
and Granddad sat there
quiet saying nothing

looking at
the people gathered
sipping his sherry

watching his wife
lifting her legs
her white fuzzy hair

going to and fro
as she moved
and you wanted

to have some sherry
but your mother said
no you have lemonade

little boys
don't have sherry
so you sat

with your lemonade
watching Uncle Fred
and his dance

and the music coming
from the old gramophone
and the smell of sherry

and beer and cigarette smoke
and Uncle telling the adults
one of his old army jokes.

Uncle Arthur

Strikes the bell for 5 oclock, uncle arthur closes shop
Screws the tops on all the bottles, turns the lights out, locks it up
Climbs across his bike and hes away
Cycles past the gasworks, past the river, down the high street
Back to mother, its another empty day
Uncle arthur likes his mommy
Uncle arthur still reads comics
Uncle arthur follows batman
Round and round the rumours fly, how he ran away from mum
On his 32nd birthday, told her that hed found a chum
Mother cried and raved and yelled and fussed
Arthur left her no illusion, brought the girl round, save confusion
Sally was the real thing, not just lust
Uncle arthur vanished quickly
Uncle arthur and his new bride
Uncle arthur follows sally
Round and round goes arthurs head, hasnt eaten well for days
Little sally may be lovely, but cooking leaves her in a maze
Uncle arthur packed his bags and fled
Back to mother, alls forgiven, serving in the family shop
He gets his pocket money, hes well fed
Uncle arthur past the gasworks
Uncle arthur past the river
Uncle arthur down the high street
Uncle arthur follows mother

Hey Louie Louie

Yeah, Louies rap - take 1
We got a funky one
Take me out 2 the ballpark - strike 1!
Louie Louie in the house
Come on yall, get some
Im the designated hitter in the house
So don't play the hold out
Tell 'em what Im talkin about
Set it up - swingin - strike 2!
Whole house swingin
People screamin' - ears ringin
With the sound that Im throwin down
Strike 3 - Ure out!
Dropped it in the first round
CHORUS:
Hey, Louie Louie (Go, go, go, go, go, go Louie, go)
Aw yeah
Hey, Louie Louie (Go, go, go, go, go, go Louie, go)
Game 1 of a 7 games series
Whos up 2 bat? L-O-U-I-E
Now freeze, can everybody hear me?
Mic check - 1 2 3 - Ahem! Cool!
Now let me resume, make room
As I zoom 2 the charts with a hype tune
Step if U wanna with the squeeze play fly
But before U know it - another R.B.I.
Yeah
CHORUS
Time 2 switch - here comes a change-up
Im kicking it at the park with an All-star line up
Comin with the new gears
Sure 2 hit the kind of record these execs are sure 2 benefit from
Yo, hold up P, gimme some
Put some more kick in that bass drum - boom!
This version makes me wanna get dumb
U got me juiced and Im lookin' 4 the home run
Yeah
Hey Louie Louis (Go, go, go, go, go, go Louie, go)
Whos in the house?
Hey Louie Louis (Go, go, go, go, go, go Louie, go)
Slide in with attention
I'm scoring a run, 4 which there is no prevention
Home field advantage dont mean a thing
As long as U bring your swing with soul and feeling
Dig down deep - reach a little farther
Come correct, or dont even bother
Sooner than later everybody will know my name
Louie Louies headed 4 the Hall of Fame - yeah!
CHORUS
Yo ladies, whats the call?
Louie Louiss in the house with the party yall (Oh!)
Oh! Rollin up hard - this time flexin
5-deep sitting in my Benz
4 those who diss and dismiss me
Try 2 write me off and say that Im history
Before I even start, they said Im through bookin
Boy, Im like Ball Park Franks - I'm plump when Im cookin'
CHORUS

A Bond Made In Heaven

we have a unique bond,
strengthened over a period of time,
over four years to be exact.
a gentleman,
an uncle in a million.
a great poet,
a friend,
and an advisor,
I am truly blessed
with the best uncle anyone could wish for
a man of compassion
for whom I have great respect
my uncle dearest
and I his niece
never a word out of place
thank you Uncle dearest
for keeping me in prayers
and always wishing for me the best

Uncle’s Car Key

A single key in a little bunch
The key to life it is not
So little a key but have this punch
When uncle’s blood is hot.

Some men I know can lend this key
But some are worse to stand
A friend it is that lets me be
But uncle’s spite must land

This key to Golf I turned upwards
And got rains of hot words
My uncle raved and ranted as hell
In words thoughtful as they tell

This his point was stressed again
As the old year passed with glee
My resolution strong and comes like train
To avoid uncle’s car key

My Uncle Gay

I can not say in a way,
That would for anyone be understood.
But I have an uncle named Gayhall,
Who stands for me very tall.

A minister he is,
With a wife Pamela and two adorable kids.
Well...
They are no longer 'kids'.
Two beautiful women I 'should' say.
Nicole and Tiffany...
Each with a uniqueness,
Anyone can see.

Although my Uncle Gay,
Has been sick of late.
I hate the fact that he's like that.
But what can I do,
Besides pray from my Uncle Gay?

I 'see' him getting better,
Each day as I 'visualize'.
I want his health to return to him.
Because he is very special,
In my eyes.

I love my aunts and uncles...
As 'if' they were mine!
And...
Hey,
They are 'mine'!
Well...
Let me define what it is I want God to do!

'God,
I know for a fact...
You are with me all the time!
But...
Will You heal my Uncle Gay?
Right 'now'!
And...
Today! '

Dedicated to:
My Uncle Reverand Gayhall Pertillar.
Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

'Love you, Uncle Gay...
Pam and 'kids'.'

My Black Uncle

My uncle is a blackman but,
My mother is a whitelady;
And i have now met my black uncle after all these years!
Life to us is now like a tree with many fruits,
And life also is about how we do care about each other;
For he is an interesting person to meet.
I was glad to sit next to him when he paid us a visit,
And my days are now like the sunshine up high!

Blessings to the heavens above,
And blessings to the deep below;
And like a wild donkey on a terraced hill,
I was glad to meet him at long last.
My uncle is a blackman and my mother is a whitelady,
To him i have finally met today.

Please wait

Please wait
‘O’ Moon,
‘O’ Moon uncle,
Plz give us money and medicine for my mother.
She is ill and on the bed.
Our mama (Maternal uncle) ,
Who is very kind and of helping nature is away from us.
Mother says that you are also our CHANDA Mama (Moon uncle)
So plz give us what ever we need.
The little child was praying to the moon
Who was blooming in the sky?
Her mother told him
‘O’ my child
This Moon uncle is also very kind and generous
And has only coolness and brightness.
He is giving all these things not only to us
also all those who are living on this Earth.
So, plz wait to your Mama (Maternal uncle) .
He will sure come and will give us money and medicine.

Thanks to my white uncle in the U.S.A,
For today i am now living together with him.
After the hard journey of my life in Africa,
Today i am enjoying my days with my uncle.

My white uncle did his best to get me into the U.S.A.,
And out of Africa with love we do share our ideas together;
All the same, it is very nice to have a great person like him.
I am dark in comlexion and he is fair in complexion,

As My Uncle Used To Say

I've thought a power on men and things,
As my uncle ust to say,--
And ef folks don't work as they pray, i jings!
W'y, they ain't no use to pray!
Ef you want somepin', and jes dead-set
A-pleadin' fer it with both eyes wet,
And _tears_ won't bring it, w'y, you try _sweat_,
As my uncle ust to say.

They's some don't know their A, B, Cs,
As my uncle ust to say,
And yit don't waste no candle-grease,
Ner whistle their lives away!
But ef they can't write no book, ner rhyme
No ringin' song fer to last all time,
They can blaze the way fer the march sublime,
As my uncle ust to say.

Whoever's Foreman of all things here,
As my uncle ust to say,
He knows each job 'at we 're best fit fer,
And our round-up, night and day:
And a-sizin' _His_ work, east and west,
And north and south, and worst and best
I ain't got nothin' to suggest,
As my uncle ust to say.

Uncle Tom's Cabin

Just for the record let's get the story straight
Me and Uncle Tom were fishin' it was gettin'
Pretty late
Out on a cypress limb above the wishin' well
Where they say it got no bottom say it take
You down to Hell
Over in the bushes and off to the right
Come two men talkin' in the pale moonlight
Sheriff John Brady and Deputy Hedge
Haulin' two limp bodies down to the water's edge
I know a secret down at Uncle Tom's Cabin oh yea
I know a secret that I just can't tell
They didn't see me and Tom in the tree
Neither one believin' what the other could see
Tossed in the bodies let 'em sink on down
To the bottom of the well
Where they'd never be found
I know a secret down at Uncle Tom's cabin oh yea
I know a secret that I just can't tell
I know a secret down at Uncle Tom's Cabin
Know a secret that I just can't tell
I know a secret down at Uncle Tom's Cabin
Know who put the bodies in the wishin' well
Soon as they were gone me & Tom got down
Prayin' real hard that we wouldn't make a sound
Runnin' through the woods back to Uncle Tom's shack
Where the full moon shines through the roof tile cracks
Oh my God Tom who are we gonna tell
The sheriff he belongs in a prison cell
Keep your mouth shut that's what we're gonna do
Unless you wanna wind up in the wishin' well too
I know a secret down at Uncle Tom's Cabin
Know a secret that I just can't tell
I know a secret down at Uncle Tom's Cabin
Know who put the bodies, know who put the bodies
in the wishin' well
