Finding My Peace
I got to find my peace so I cut to ease the pain,
Escaping the life I'm living, escaping a life of vain,
Quieting the cries, as my eyes let free its rain,
Body becomes weak and tired, as my strength I try to gain,
I want to find my peace, some peace of any kind,
Needle penetrates my skin, but to the damage I am blind,
So high up off these drugs, so high up in my mind,
Guess I'll just keep on using, until my peace I someday find,
I need to find my peace, so I drink the stress away,
Now so intoxicated, but it's only a temporary state,
I'm in a better place, so I guess it makes it okay,
But I still haven't found my peace, so I'll try another way,
I think I've found my peace, in a place that's rather odd,
No needles, no bleeding, no cutting, just prayer for His approval nod,
I think I've found my peace, and to my better half I'll prod,
Because I know I've found my peace, and I found it with myself and God,

Peace?
There is only one peace I will defend.
And that is the peace between my ears.
When it arrived and I identified with it...
And it took a while for my suspicions to leave?
I had not until then...
Experienced a life without spotlighting my agonies.
Peace?

Nor do I have a need to have it cheapened,
By a marketing campaign...
You've come to solicit with promises to set me free.
I've already got it.
'Free-of-being-dumb'.

They seek him here, they seek him there,
His clothes are loud, but never square.
It will make or break him so hes got to buy the best,
cause hes a dedicated follower of fashion.
And when he does his little rounds,
round the boutiques of london town,
Eagerly pursuing all the latest fads and trends,
cause hes a dedicated follower of fashion.

He thinks he is a flower to be looked at,
And when he pulls his frilly nylon panties right up tight,

There Ain't Nothing In My Life Like That
I've heard that I am fine.
Perhaps that's why I dine alone...
Who knows.
I'm told I shouldn't be 'picky'.
I should be appreciative,
And invite someone into my home.
I believe they say this because...
Well,
I am aging and should be in a relationship.
But the peace of mind I worship...
Confuses that with 'desperation'
I guess.
I am not one to cruise the streets,
To find anyone to meet!
Nor do I think of going to the movies by myself.
Or peacefully sitting to eat.
Whether I had someone there...
To share that scene with me.
I am headache free.
Can't that be seen...
By the way I look?

And freed of burdens,
Someone else might feel urgent...
To know me well enough to dump them,
And then leave!
