None of Those Depictions

I watched my son clinically murdered.
And given experimental medications.
That's how 'this' hospital treated,
'Certain' patients then.

I am often asked,
By those who have not experienced such tasks...
Why do I seem to be cold, indifferent and embittered?
And...
I am none of those depictions.
God has blessed me with a patience to wait,
For those decisions implemented...
Only The Almighty can make!

I am often asked,
By those who have not experienced such tasks...
Why do I seem to be cold, indifferent and embittered?

I watched my son clinically murdered.
And given experimental medications.
That's how 'this' hospital treated,
'Certain' patients then.

And...

08 Hospital - Hospitality

I visited Hospital for a check up on an orthopaedic operation I had a few years ago. This acrostic shows my observations.

H opelessness people straring so blankly

O rthopaedic - brittle bones - broken bones

P atients - patience - porters - posteriors

In patients - out patients - impatience

T rollies with bodies - scalpels and tea

A nxious wait - X-ray and full body scan

L ets go before they amputate everything!

Not Filled With Depictions Of Angst

There are those who state,
My writing for them is not 'ethnic' enough.
It is not filled with depictions of angst!
Or emotionally committed to keep attached,
To that sought embittered foaming at the mouth.
Like others who look about to remain,
In limitations.

And I have never sought to make excuses,
To live a life I've been blessed to be given.
And many who are disappointed by their existence...
I've never felt cursed to be denied by those wicked.
Those wishing to sell me negativity!
I don't keep myself sold on that.

I've never wished to use my ethnicity...
As a means to gain sympathy,
With beliefs to accpet I was born subservient.
And to this day I can not perceive,
To whom subservient I would be.
I've never invested my time to accept...
'I am better than you are business.'

Are We Ill?

How many men are against us when we are ill?
Illness desires you as a last resort, when ill.
The magnificent and the abhorrent ailments
Need both cures, again and again in the hospital.
The hospital is for doctors who care,
And the nurses are fearful of you.
Patients need patience to adore the health
Of a nation in pity for their condition.
The pities are seldom seen in youth
As they are in public or private.
May the men who are against us be quiet
Now that illness is the past.

I Died Inside Slowly

I died inside slowly,
When I witnessed my son Michael...
Doing it many years ago.
Slowly and in a pain I still 'envision'.
At Saint Francis Hospital,
In Hartford, Connecticut.
That was in 1970!
To experience it again...
For me,
Would just be repetitive.

'Why?
WHY can't you do 'nothing'
Bur pump him up with drugs.'

Today, all patients accepted for treatment at St. Jude's are treated without regard for the family's ability to pay. Everything beyond what is covered by insurance is taken care of, and for those without insurance, all of the medical costs are absorbed by the hospital.

You Murdered My Love

If you are still here,
And I awaken screaming.
I have not experienced a nightmare.
I am just surprised,
I am still alive.
Knowing you are aware,
That my raw and obnoxious antics...
Did not motivate you to split.
Or dismember my valued jewels.
After I dozed off...
Disrespecting and chewing you up,
With insults.
I now apologize even I am sickened by it.

Why do you put up with me?

'I can only collect,
If you die from natural causes.
You are going to pay for my patience!
Trust me.'

And I am thinking it must be love.

'You murdered my love some time ago.'

Physically Challenged

I understand.
My methods to teach,
Are not acceptable.

But your honor...
All I asked my son to do,
Was to use the broom...
To sweep with it.

He then told me...
'If you know how to use it,
Do it!
You're not physically challenged! '
And he was right.

Both of us have learned 'something'
From this embarrassment.

And I am guilty for teaching him a lesson,
He will never forget.

Hopefully he will recover,
For the injuries received as he ran from me...
To get hit by that car.

He would have healed quicker,
If he had stayed still to get hit in the head...
By the broomstick!
Now he's laid up in the hospital.
And I'm sentenced to sit in a cell,
Wishing I did not yell...
But knocked him out instead!

With a thinking process quickly implemented.
Saving us both from such pain.
Even though remorse has been gained from this.

This Universe (They Have This Need)

Do not become fooled or tricked by them.
The ones who talk of both fear and sin.
Their way of observing life may be coming to its end.
But this Universe is full of abundance.
Perhaps for them there is this 'need' to believe...
What they have created has to be deflated!

There is this need for some to feel defeated.
As if it's up to them who lives to breathe!
There is this need for some to feel defeated.
As if it's up to them who stays and leaves.

And those who play God are on medications long outdated!
And those who play God are on medications long outdated!
And those who play God are on medications over-rated.

Do not become fooled or tricked by them.
The ones who talk of both fear and sin.
Their way of observing life may be coming to its end.
But this Universe is full of abundance.
Perhaps for them there is this 'need' to believe...
What they have created has to be deflated!

And those who play God are on medications long outdated!
And those who play God are on medications long outdated!
And those who play God are on medications over-rated.

(They have this need)
Those who play God are on medications long outdated!
(They have this need)
Those who play God are on medications long outdated!
(They have this need)
Those who play God are on medications long outdated!

And those who play God are on medications over-rated.

Other Job Descriptions Dished

Whatever it is that you do,
In your pursuit to avoid obstacles...
Do not assume I am also seeking,
Confusion.
I am not!

Or that I should have the patience,
Whenever you have decided...
To dance to another tune,
As often as you wish!
That kind of patience none I've got.

Dealing with indecision,
And those with mixed emotions...
May be depictions of other job descriptions dished!
But I have no agreement made to keep with you,
I would be the one to settle for anything you do.

In fact,
Your latest oral contract that places me on call...
As a default to your nonsense,
I advise you never to me repeat it.
Assume from my mind it has been deleted.

The Night You Murdered Love

Its cold outside - the night love died
On the night you murdered love
Its cold outside - the night love died
On the night you murdered love
From an early age
I was taught to respect
That a broken heart girl
Aint a thing you collect
Close your eyes and say
Nothing lasts a day
Youre wasting my time
Yet I love to love you
Close your eyes and say
Honour love obey
Youre wasting my time
Yet I love to love you
Its cold outside - the night love died
On the night you murdered love
Its cold outside - the night love died
On the night you murdered love
January...february...march and april may
June july sees you go by
I see love walk away
Didnt use a blade
A bullet or a gun
You poisoned the moonlight
When you put out the sun
Close your eyes and say
Nothing lasts a day
Youre wasting my time
Yet I love to love you
Close your eyes and say
Honour love obey
Youre wasting my time
Yet I love to love you
Its cold outside - the night love died
On the night you murdered love
Its cold outside - the night love died
On the night you murdered love
January...february...march and april may

Yet I love to love you
Its cold outside - the night love died

Its cold outside - the night love died

Making Me Wait To Rekindle

I do not envy a second of your patience.
I could not sit to wait,
As if my own needs...
Can only be satisfied,
If a bit of tolerance was applied.

I do not envy a second of your patience.
As if a puppy held by an invisible leash.
Intoxicated with a craving for an appearance,
To share that familiarity again.
I do not envy a second of your patience.

But I do...
Wish I could have someone,
To pretend I am bitter with...
For making me wait,
To rekindle a romantic encounter.

Those times are missed.

Know Your Worth

Through out the Bible
We are given instructions
About how women
Are supposed to be treated
Genesis, Proverbs, Ephesians,1Peter
Could I make it any clearer
We must look in the mirror
Be patience I know
That you can
Take time to read God's plan
We are people of the hour
We must be treated as a flower
Yes a man must lead
But he also must submit to your needs
Leadership comes with headaches
Be careful not to make a mistake
If a man cares enough
He will wait
Make sure that he is willing
To do what it takes
Because as women we are great
So be in control of fate
One bad judgement could be fatal
We must be focused
Do things according to God's plan
Take time to understand
The man
Who you may one day
Call your husband
It's your God given
Right since birth
Always remember to
Know your worth

An Unrecognizable Excuse Used

Miraculously...
I observed a few who had to be new,
Wading curiously...
Through a pack of judgement passers.
And they survived unscathed.

Which made me wonder...
They either had to be tourists,
On vacation.
Or folks issued experimental medications,
To test.

Others had tried ignoring this...
To live lives as they wished.
And succumbed as if,
They were addicted to nonsense.
Like it was a required prerequisite.

To have their minds lifted...
With no other purpose to live,
But to self inflict abuse.
An unrecognizable excuse used...
To be accepted!

That's Why I Stay Away

There is not another excuse you can use...
To allow time to slip away from you.
Or to sit and wait for your happiness to appear.
If you have not done a thing,
To attract it near.

There is not another alibi to utter.
Or mumble in self centeredness...
About what you will do when the time permits.
There is nothing about time,
That is going to sit and wait.
Not for you to decide what decisions to make.
Or question what should take place with others,
In needless time consuming wasteful debates.

Others may say they accept who you are!
I do too!
And that's why I stay away.
No friendship I give,
Will be treated that way.
I don't like to feel,
What I value has been betrayed.

And loyalty...
For me does not need to be defined.

Your campaign for wishes to be understood.
Reeks from an ego that has done you no good.
But you in your stubbornness can not comprehend...
It's not what others have done to you.
But what they have allowed you to do to them.
And it's a shame they still claim you as a friend.

That's why I stay away.
I value what my friends choose to do and say.
And taking folks for granted...
Is not my way.
Nor will I ever find that kind of time...
To let thoughts like that occupy my mind.
I thank God I respect others.
And not of the selfish...
Me...me! I...I,
Kind!

And I don't like my time wasted.
While others make up their minds...
How to use it!
