Nothing can fill the emptiness
that you’ve created in my heart,

Tender Is My Touch
Tender is my touch,
I know.
Although my balled fists...
When unclenched,
Reveals a gentleness
Of my fingertips.
Each day I grow,
With patience that comes.
From my head to my heart...
Masquerading yet welcomed.
All obstacles faced...
Are not completely removed.
Of this I am aware.
But none of this,
Is deserving for either one of us...
For me to prove to you.
There is more inside me than conflict.

Upon your arrival to this day witnessed,

For A Solitude I Have Found
No longer satisfied
To visit dead horses beaten...
Or hear another false statement accepted,
Deceptively sweetened.
I relinquish to them that right,

For a solitude I have found,
In breezes clear that sets me free!

Used to be a time
We held the world.
Wrapped round our finger tips
Laughing at what others missed. someday, yesterday
The magic we felt went away.
Grow up somebody said... tell me where its gone
So I can go find it now. I cant live your way.
Go ahead without me.

Some people fly... and some of us worry about touching
The sun with wings. I know if I try Ill get where Im going,

Today I Know 'Them' and 'They
As a child I believed I had an understanding,
As to who 'them' and 'they' were.
To me it was then obvious,
Who would be suppressors of my attempted success.
And as an adult who has aged,
With an attempt to make a difference...
As I faced those obstacles 'them' and 'they' created,
To make those tasks on my path more difficult to pass.
I came to realize who 'them' and 'they' had been.
Standing in everyone's way to delay any progress made,
With every conceivable deceit and whim to dish as wished.
And today I know 'them' and 'they'...
As the neighborhood naysayers.
Doing their best to prevent anyone's progress.
Well...
Not anyone's.
They still have their picks.

When I entered his house
it was then when I faced the truth
we bought him the paper
and he was sat watching the news
he turned down the TV so we could speak
conversations, moments of silence spoke
the fear in his eyes when he looked at you
when he faced us all thats when we knew
fear was true.
We sat comfertable as he sat on his chair
and there Jesus looks back at me from the wall
he knows we're waiting
the devils path is waiting for him to fall
there are no children to play football
yet one remains inside his hall
the kitchen smell is not his pride
