Downsized and Seeking
I was once told,
I could be a bank president....
If I chose to be and wanted.
Instead of having my hands in toilet bowls.
And cleaning urinals until they gleamed,
Doing this for a company I ran and controlled.
But the one who expressed this,
Was into image.
And I was into,
A self determining ownership I myself held,
To hold.
And today,
Many banks are closed.
With many of those who presided as president,
Having been downsized and seeking a place,
Where there could be found reasonable rent.
And hopefully in a neighborhood,
That accepts embarrassments not easily convinced.

I Looked At That Fool And Smiled
There is nothing like being in love.
Especially with someone who has not a clue,
As to who you are.
And shows as much respect...
As a passing stranger.
I was once told many years ago,
I could be a bank president...
If I put my mind to it.
I agreed!
But my mind wasn't set,
On the credits and debts that others kept.
I needed and wanted to 'own' my destiny.
And 'if' I wanted someone to monitor my resources...
I would select a bank.
And I would pay that bank president,
To oversee...
My property.
But happy am I,
To have those days pass me by.
And I am blessed to continue to fly.
With my ultimate ambition,
YET to be realized.
Oh...
But it my sights,
It is becoming clarified.
And 'if' you happen to be reading this...
From wherever in the world,
You may have my words interpreted.
Wherever in the 'world' you may sit.
You may 'already' have a hint of it!
The thing I own I am most proudest of...
Is a bus pass.
That's right!
The proudest thing I am 'going' to do?
Is to have my words read...
From 'wherever' you locate them,
To go directly into your head.
Enough said!
I am not bragging about that.
It will become fact.
And I knew that as a child!
I kicked other things around for a while.
Hey...
Life is a learning process.
Is it not?
That is why when I was told,
Many years ago...
I could be a bank president,
I looked at that fool and smiled.
I did not have to earn a Master's in Business.
I was 'born' a Master OF Business.

Don't You Find Yourself In An Odd Position?
Don't you find yourself in an odd position?
Remember,
It was years ago...
When you mentioned to me,
I could be a bank president...
If I chose to be?
And you went on to gain success in finance.
Only to find you and your position...
Assessed as being outdated and flat broke.
And even with your 'genius' mind...
You can't make a dollar worth more than a dime.
Don't you find yourself in an odd position?
Remember,
It was years ago...
When you mentioned to me,
I could be a bank president...
If I chose to be?
And I chose to see myself happy,
And free of sustained delusions.
And you?
Well...
I can not say,
You did not make your own choices.
You've got your title.
And I've got my life!
With a basicness only happiness,
Has fulfilled.
Don't you find yourself in an odd position?
If not...
You must have adopted fresh delusions.

For example, a man who might not have enormous charisma, who could be president 40 years ago, and who was a deserving president, I don't know that George Washington would be a president today, I don't know that Abe Lincoln would, I don't know that Roosevelt would.

Henry Ferris,
My name is Barry and i am the joy of your hope;
For today you have met the 44th U.S. President.
Prepare me some coffee and let me drink,
For my father is like a mystery to you;
But today you have met the 44th U.S. President.
The love of your muse is like the history of my past,
And like the muse of the world to give me joy!
But today you have met the 44th U.S. President.

I Wish My Own Uterus Was Left Alone
Didn't I tell you not to use,
That kind of language 'inside' this house?
'Yeah, but mommy...
Daddy uses it inside, outside,
And 'everywhere'.'
And tell me this,
Why is it you rush to the mailbox...
When the mailman comes everyday.
What's going on?
'I'm waiting for a letter from the President.
I wrote to ask him a question.
I want to know why he hasn't replaced my piggy bank.
With the money I had in it.'
Didn't I tell you your father did that?
'Yeah but daddy said if it wasn't for the President,
The gas prices wouldn't be high.
And he would be able to buy his own cigarettes.'
The President had nothing to do with your father's actions.
'Tell that to daddy.
He said he can't wait to vote him out of office.'
And what do you think the President will say about that?
'I don't care.
I just want my money and my piggy bank back.'
I wish my own uterus was left alone.
Without debating over who stays and who goes.
Pretty soon we'll need permission to use the bathroom.
'Huh? '
Don't worry about it.
Trust me.
What you have and how it's used...
Will 'never' be up for debate.
'Mommy?
Nevermind.
I don't even know what to ask.
I'll just wait to get my letter from the President.'

Nothing I Regret to Reminisce
I remember the last time I cared.
And being intimate,
With someone I was 'into'.
Now I am out of that.
Relationships are like investments.
When they are are hot...
The giving is free and easy.
There seems to be enough good stuff,
Enjoyed and passed around.
However,
When the stuff gets rough?
And discussions start becoming huff and puff debates.
With threats?
And yelling done to see who does that best!
I don't regret leaving.
There's nothing like fresh air I want and need.
I don't make promises to anyone I can walk on water.
Nor am I going to be baited to stay hooked,
Or strung along with something that's not working for me!
I was involved in a marriage and one day told...
'I'm going to get mine!
I don't care if you do own the company.
You can be a bank president.
Instead of a janitor.'
How these times have changed!
When was the last time a janitor was suspected of fraud?
And how many banks have already closed?
I remember the last time I cared.
And being intimate,
With someone I was 'into'.
Now I am out of that.
With nothing I regret to reminisce.
And I am blessed to be realistic about it!

Short; Silly: Ode To A Commode...Or....A Poem About Toilets
modern 'toilets' are large flushable porcelain bowls
which catch waste from both your and my exit holes.
i'm used to white ones with large flush-water tank.
a hidden pipe carries off stuff that often does smell rank.
some in japan were quite different……with no way to sit!
i'm glad i found 'my style' when t'was time to shit.
and if from toilet-paper usage you're leaning,
some toilets have the choice of an in-bowl shower, for cleaning.
toilet seats are sometimes colored, or cushioned, or even heated;
for me, more important (at times) is JUST to be SEATED!
toilets have changed since they were just holes in the ground.
i hope, when i 'need' a toilet, one's always around!

Down And Out In Paradise
Dear Mr. President
I live in the suburbs
It's a long way from Washington , D.C.
Had me a job
Workin' for wages
Till the company moved out
And they forgot about me
Can't draw unemployment
For some unknown reason
My kids are hungry
I've got four mouths to feed
I go out every day looking for suitable employment
Do you think there's something you could do for me
Cause I'm
Down and out here in paradise
Down and out and I'm on my knees
I'm down and out here in paradise
Looks like the milk and honey
Done run out on me
Dear Mr. President
I used to be a dancer
Got a little bit too old
So I became a secretary
Married a man
In Las Vegas, Nevada
And ten years later
He ran out on the kids and me
Some said I was pretty
But those days are over
Now I've no place to live
And I'm out on the streets
Oh, Mr. President
Can I tell you a secret
I never ever thought that this could happen to me
Cause I'm
Chorus
Dear Mr. President
I'm just a young kid
I'm in the fourth grade
At Riley Elementary
My mom and dad's been actin' funny
I'm not sure what
If it's got something to do with me
My daddy's always drunk
My mom's a babysitter
And I don't like the Russians
Cause I hear they hate me
Dear Mr. President
Can I ask you one question
When the bombs fall down
Will they hurt everyone in my family
Yeah, yeah
Chorus

Watching Washington Work
In the early days of convinced student ambition
I watched Washington work where even the press didn't care
The Special Subcommitte on Student Unrest to be exact the
Honorable Edith Green - Chair.
I recall the specific names and faces and antics and lack the courage to tell you what truly went on.
Strangely I loved the representative from Alaska most, who later was killed in a plane crash running for the Senate their bodies never recovered, and a representative from New York City least - who wanted to be President.
The Alaskan was a man strangely full and the New Yorker strangely hollow but this is my theological judgement.
What could a student possibly know who once wanted to be President himself and lacks even today the courage to tell you how that little piece
of Washington worked?

Mr. President
We've taken all you've given
But it's gettin' hard to make a livin'
Mr. president have pity on the working man
We're not asking you to love us
You may place yourself high above us
Mr. president have pity on the working man
I know it may sound funny
But people ev'ry where are runnin' out of money
We just can't make it by ourself
It is cold and the wind is blowing
We need something to keep us gong
Mr. president have pity on the working man
Maybe you've cheated
Maybe you've lied
Maybe you have lost your mind
Maybe you're only thinking 'bout yourself
Too late to run. too late to cry now
The time has come for us to say good-bye now
Mr. president have pity on the working man
Mr. president have pity on the working man

Stand for Health Care for All
The insurance company dropped my twin brother while he was dying of cancer then the bank foreclosed his house. He worked hard all his life and even wanted to go back to work while he had the cancer and my father was a world war two veteran with two purple hearts...i am angry over false oppressive laws that put people into these horrible situations...nobody should ever loose their property over an illness or have their insurance dropped while they become vulnerable adults then have their property foreclosed on. Do I want the free market regulating things according to maximum profit? No, I want laws that are based on righteousness not MONEY. Should insurance companies have the right to dropp people who have preexisting conditions? No..The republicans had both houses under President Clinton and George W Bush and did nothing with healthcare. They resisted President Clintons administration on getting universal healthcare. They will lollygag for ever if they defeat the healthcare bill of President Obama. Don't be fooled!

Here Comes President Kill Again
Here comes president kill again,
Surrounded by all of his killing men.
Telling us who, why, where and when,
President kill wants killing again.
Hooray, ring out the bells,
King conscience is dead.
Hooray, now back in your cells,
Weve president kill instead.
Here comes president kill again.
Broadcasting from his killing den.
Dressed in pounds and dollars and yen,
President kill wants killing again.
Hooray, hang out the flags,
Queen caring is dead.
Hooray, well stack body bags,
For president kill instead.
Aint democracy wonderful?
Them russians cant win!
Aint democracy wonderful?
Lets us vote someone like that in.
Here comes president kill again,
From pure white house to number 10.
Taking lives with a smoking pen,
President kill wants killing again.
Hooray, everythings great,
Now president kill is dead.
Hooray, Ill bet you cant wait,
To vote for president kill instead...

Found Odd, Trifling and Out of Place
Stay perplexed and fixed,
To the politics you chose to pick.
Examine those policies,
You selected as priorities...
To be of interest by those elected.
And while you are doing that...
Remember when you dismissed others,
As insignificant voices to forget.
I've done it...
Remembered.
With a healing done I do not regret.
That's why my choice is not to be stunned.
I'm sure I had not been the only one,
Kicked to the curb by you and those...
With noses upturned,
And feeling the more deserving.
You pursued degrees...
You 'still' are billed to pay.
And your tunneled vision,
Has been blocked along the way.
Now I am approached by you,
And others too.
To unite and serve...
To assist in your desperation,
To save what you were told then...
Not to take for granted!
And...
One day from your 'perch'...
You will be unnerved.
And from within you,
A reality will be purged.
Has that happened?
However...
You were convinced,
My actions and those of others then...
Made no sense.
You were convinced,
My actions and those of others then...
Was a waste of time uselessly spent.
And today your frantic actions,
Have been isolated and distanced.
No one is seeking,
To protect your standards valued.
No one is seeking,
To uphold your exposed decadence.
You've made that and yourself too exclusive.
And did not include the needs of those who bled.
Or anyone you were instructed to bleed to death.
With a choice that led you to flee, instead.
And as you fled,
So did we.
Not to scatter like you.
But to find a peace of mind we keep.
With a doing done not to undo.
Today you say we need to call on God.
Those I know,
Have been and remain in daily conference.
You are the ones who are now found 'odd'.
Trifling and out of place.
