Aint 'Bout to Give It Up No Time Soon
What do you want?
An experience to please,
In an escaping escapade?
Do you wish someone to comfort you...
As you go through a period of boredom,
In a relationship.
No longer blistering with excitement?
What are your needs?
And please don't say a lack of affection!
I've gone through that before myself.
Only to discover my own selfishness.
How do I survive without companionship?
That's easy!
I listen to people like you...
Prepared to cheat on their spouses.
And when I return home...
I am glad I don't have to confess,
To a place I am blessed to declare all mine!
And I can walk around naked if I so choose.
Feeling thankful and suspicion free.
And if 'anyone' wants to deal with me...?
Believe me it will be on my terms.
This happiness I've earned!
And I aint 'bout to give it up...
No time soon.
So...
What expectation are you anticipating?
Daily discreeted meets?
Or a fling or two during the week?
I don't accept sleepovers.
I'm reserving that...
For someone who comes along.
And unexpectedly can curl my toes.
However...
You wouldn't know that.
Especially if you sought a donation.
And I was in the mood to provide a charity visit.

There Is Something About Having Peace
Everywhere I have been,
To travel and/or live.
I made it my choice,
To meet and share with different people.
I've been creative all my life.
And nothing about it is a mystery.
With an experiencing of it done,
On various stages.
Under spotlight.
And alone emotionally.
And today I can say,
I would have to think hard...
To express regret.
Every breath of life I have been given,
I am thankful to feel so blessed.
For anyone to recommend,
Or to me suggest...
What it is I should do with my time,
Have no idea...
The joy I have with peace of mind.
And that peace of mind is mine to define.
With a seeking I do not do,
To anyone to explain what I have gone through...
With a welcoming of it to keep.
And prepared to defend it,
From nosey busy bodies if I have to!
I wasn't born yesterday,
With a searching for compatible companionship.
Or sharing my life in an argumentative relationship.
Trust me...
I have donated.
And my charity work has been done.
There is something about having peace...
With a quietness on a daily basis released,
That I have learned to love and appreciate.

That 'Senior Citizen' Thing
That 'senior citizen' thing,
Isn't easy for many to face and address.
And...
I am not comfortable with it yet.
Not to cling onto it like it is mine.
I am not prepared to declare,
Total ownership of it.
I am told I can still 'pass' for 55.
And that's young and radiant,
When one is...
On the fringes of showing 'maturity'.
And as my aches and pains,
Make attempts to ignore a fading youth...
Slowly leaving my consciousness,
With loud professions of my obsessiveness...
I know,
Is no longer in that hip hop stage!
And has gone.
I feel time has crept upon me,
And has done me wrong.
But...
I aint crying about it.
Not in public anyway.
And if I do it is raining!
I tell people then,
How I enjoy the feeling of nature.
That 'senior citizen' thing,
Was never on my agenda when I was in my teens.
Nor did aging appear in my dreams...
When I sought ambitiously,
To waste as much time as possible.
It was not a topic of excitement.
Nor a subject to defend.
Back in those days when age was taken for granted.
And then,
Overnight...
My eyesight needed correction.
I had to wear glasses 'with' bi-focals.
My digestion needed anti-oxidents with more fiber.
And for no apparent reason,
I would stumble into buildings and trees.
Losing my balance.
That 'senior citizen' thing,
Isn't easy for many to face and address.
And...
I am not comfortable with it yet.
Not to cling onto it like it is mine.
I am not prepared to declare,
Total ownership of it.
I am told I can still 'pass' for 55.
And that's young and radiant,
When one is...
On the fringes of showing 'maturity'.
Someone...
Like myself,
For example.

Charity
Charity is good
Without expectation of return
To a worthy person
At the proper time and place.
Charity is bad
With the expectation of some return
To an unworthy person
At an improper time and at an impure place.

Choose to Live Life
IF is more 'is' today than ever.
There is no quiz about it now.
And doubts once allowed are gone.
Believe it.
And become doubt free.
It is there in your face.
With nothing else to replace it.
Wishing it would go away...
Fades with a reality that stays,
Unerased!
With traces of pain...
To frame delusions.
Believe it.
And become doubt free.
Choose to live your life.
Yesterday,
Those easy daydreams came.
Sweetened with weekend escapades.
To leave behind a week,
Of those scheduled committments.
You sought to meet and keep.
Now a seriousness appears.
To reminisce those things done...
As dropping teardrops come to some.
Choose to live your life.
IF is more 'is' today than ever.
There is no quiz about it now.
And doubts once allowed are gone.
One must choose to live life!
No longer can anyone afford to sacrifice time...
To appease the whims of others.
Especially if they are in debate...
Discussing the value of your fate.
Choose to live life...
With a happiness sought without 'things'.
Or a happiness someone promises to bring.
Choose to live life!
Your life!

Why Can't You Drop Them...
You 'believe'...
In concepts deep within you.
And yet your beliefs,
Satisfy you not with comfort?
Or free your steps,
Without regretful movement?
You attract conflicts,
That daily attack!
And yet a protection,
Of hypocrisy...
Has created that!
With a pattern offering no objection?
And you tell me,
The life I live...
Although free of those agonies
You suffer...
Is based on delusions I enforce?
That my 'divorce' from those 'realities'
You embrace with a loyal devotion...
Have been endorsed by a fantasy?
And dysfunctions I've set into motion,
Are disguises of my actual emotions?
And I've focused on pretentions,
Instead of pain that goes ignored?
That I have not honestly explored,
My limitations!
That may well be true!
However...
Which one of us expresses a happiness,
And a grateful attitude for its existence?
I wish not to question your beliefs.
But your faith in application,
Seems to lack a convincing appreciation.
With an uplifted joy to be so blessed!
Willing to confess it...
With each opportunity you get!
Unless that too,
Is absent of any truth...
You desire produced,
Behind your elaborate 'cloaking'!
And I am sure that is your reason,
And purpose...
To have such beliefs?
To keep them out of sight,
As you delight in discreeted loneliness.
Such bliss should be envied and seen.
You should wish them known and shown,
I would suspect.
Don't you?
Isn't that the meaning behind having such beliefs?
To have such feeling shared and released?
If not,
Why can't you dropp them...
Instead of those tears,
That appear very real to me!
Falling periodically from your face!
And not one of your eyes sparkle,
With unhesitating excitement!
Or expose your pleasure,
With traces I can identify as contented joy.
I don't detect your beliefs being present.
Not as frequently as I hear your cries,
About a survival you have chosen...
In a denial you refuse to address.
Perhaps you view that as a criticism,
Instead of an opportunity...
To put a smile on your outlook!
Or maybe that too is too much of a risk?
And you are afraid,
You just may give the wrong impression!

Happiness Is An Option
It is not easy
It is not easy
Looking from a window
At the edge of a house
At the edge of a town
Its grey like the day
When I lost it
Clouds overhead
I talked to a flower
That was almost dead
My body a prison
Why did I do it
Someone want me not to
But I still went through it
(living it upside, you gotta remember, that happiness is an option)
It is not easy
But dont give up now
(so dont give up)
It is not easy
Happiness is an option
(but happiness is an option)
Needed somewhere to clear my head
Find some strength a warmer bed
Maximum love in a minimal world
Id never achieved it
But then I believed it
So when I lost it - how
Im not sure - now
It was a strange feeling
Like a law repealing itself
It is not easy
But dont give up now
(so dont give up)
It is not easy
Happiness is an option
(but happiness is an option)
It is not easy
But dont give up now
(so dont give up)
It is not easy
Happiness is an option
(giving it up, if you are giving it up, if you are giving it up)
I can wake up in the morning
And not believe what I see
Look in a mirror and think
If thats really me
I dont think I suit my face
Its not a catastrophe
Its more a philosophy
Like the russians wondering why
Were born under a blue sky
But die in a dark forest
It is not easy
But dont give up now
(so dont give up)
It is not easy
Happiness is an option
(but happiness is an option)
It is not easy
But dont give up now
(so dont give up)
It is not easy
Happiness is an option
(but happiness is an option)
This is neither old nor new
Its always forever
Somewhere between sense
And ambition
Pleasure and decision
We have to make a choice
What do we want
Everyone singing
war, what is it good for?
While planning the next one
I dont need to win
You dont have to loose
We can choose
Happiness is an option
(you can choose)
It is not easy
But dont give up now
(so dont give up)
It is not easy
Happiness is an option
(chris: happiness is an option)
It is not easy
(no, it is not easy)
The war within us
(so war within us)
(so dont give up)
But it gets easier
(but it gets easier)
The more we learn
(the more we learn)
I dont need to win
(I dont need to win)
You dont have to loose
(you dont have to loose)
So dont give up
We can choose
Happiness is an option
(happiness is an option)
(chris: happiness is an option)
It is not easy
(no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no)
But dont give up now
(dont give up now)
(so dont give up)
It is not easy
(it is not easy)
Happiness is an option
(happiness is an option)
(if you are giving it up, if you are giving it up)
You dont have to loose
(you dont have to loose)
(if you are giving it up, you gotta remember)
We can choose happiness is an option
(we can choose happiness is an option)

Leaving A Friend
To me, this bad feeling is one, which isn’t all that new;
It’s an emotion which, many times, I have been through.
It’s the final evening of my trip away,
And, deep inside, I’m yearning to stay.
My time spent away, inevitably always flies,
And, now I’m sat here, with tears in my eyes.
It’s never an easy moment, saying goodbye,
And I’m finding it such an effort not to cry.
I love to spend time with my friend, so very dear:
A friend who makes me laugh, and brings me cheer.
Being in her company fills me with such happiness;
I feel like I’m riding on a wave: on the very crest!
I always crave the attention and affection;
More precious memories, for my collection.
For me, a motherly kiss and a hug,
Are so very addictive: just like a drug.
So, tomorrow morning, when I’m sat onboard my train,
No doubt, I’ll relive these memories again and again.
I know that when, from the station, I finally depart,
I’ll experience the very slight breaking of my heart.
I do so hate to experience this mood:
The creator of emotions should be sued!
Although, I’d hate not to have feelings of any kind;
Like a Cyberman from ‘Doctor Who’, with an emotionless mind.
But I wouldn’t have missed coming for all the tea in China;
To my mind, there is no other experience, which is finer.
In the company of my friend, I feel so elated,
But after, she’s gone away, I feel so deflated.
I find it hard, when I have to go home;
I suddenly feel so upset and all alone.
Having been in spirits, which were so high,
There comes the final hug, and then ‘goodbye.’
But, although, each time, I go through this pain,
I know, for sure, that I’ll endure it again and again.
I really need to occupy my mind,
And leave this feeling far behind.
Instead of spending more time moping about,
I go for a brisk walk, to help tire myself out.
Down in the City, people’s spirits are high,
And, now, I no longer feel like I want to cry.
Being in the fresh air, seems to clear my head,
And, it isn’t too long, before I’m ready for bed.
My earlier depression appears to have passed,
And I’m feeling ready to go back home at last.

Get Up Thankful To Be Blessed
Feeling Blessed.
And with each day I am more receptive.
Less inclined am I to accept a restlessness.
With a peace of mind,
That having an openness...
Achieves and gets.
And...
How you doin?
'I aint so lucky,
To have my life that way.
I have to get up to go to work!
And be annoyed everyday.
My life aint nuthin'...
But ups and downs.
I've got bills to pay!
And my creditors are always around.'
Oh!
So you're saying,
That's the way you choose to live?
Looking for something to complain about.
And deciding there's no reason,
To be positive.
'No!
I'm not saying that at all.
That's just the way my life is.
I can not afford to fantasize,
Like 'some' people who pretend...
They've got it made,
With no pot to piss in! '
Well...
I guess you do have a point.
I get up thankful to be blessed,
I have a toilet...
Where I conduct all my private business.

It's a 'Must' to Witness
Only those who are wishing to get away,
Are those who have never experienced life...
Away from themselves.
That's all that's about.
A routine they can easily change.
But there is a need to get away,
To do it!
To other environments,
They have not themselves created.
And in their minds there is an observation,
Of similarities.
Only to discover 'who' they are.
To return from where they started.
But this time...
Some of life has been explored.
And be prepared...
Yes. You!
Be prepared.
They are going to bore you with their 'findings'.
As if a child with a new toy,
'You' have not seen before.
And it's a 'must' to witness.
Since their excitement,
Will generate within them a happiness.
And be prepared...
Yes. You!
Be prepared.
Even though they wanted to get away?
You are going to see them more,
Than you've ever seen them in your life!
That's what 'getting away' does.
That's what getting away from 'oneself' does!
Like the getting over of oneself that has been in the way.

The Choice Would Seem to Be Easy
As the Sun rises on the horizon,
To lift new beginnings...
And clearing paths walked,
Along a journey stalked by distractions.
Will visions accept a guide assigned to lead them?
One they were not told or prepared...
Would appear before them,
With darken skin and kinky hair?
One who did not smile...
But offered a truth they had not heard in a while.
Or would they turn their backs,
And declare a wish for darkness?
To immerse themselves in further attacks.
Since they had grown accustomed...
To those who tormented them,
With such acts.
And sought for them prolonged despair.
The choice would seem to be easy...
However,
An experience in gloom...
Some considered more appropriate.
Than following someone,
Who promises a dawn...
Clearly showing proof,
They should move forward.
Move on!
But some will choose to sit in dismay...
Since the appearance of 'light'
Affects their lack of having insight!

What Re-action From Me Do You Expect?
Observing...
With a giving to someone,
Undivided attention.
To listen as they reflect retrospectively,
A doing done to achieve their success.
This 'should' be an event to experience their happiness.
And not an opportunity for them to solicit empathy...
To pour from their hearts,
Highlighted aspects of their regrets.
As a forgiveness is mentioned for them to accept,
During a process of it being expressed.
But many find and discover,
Happiness is not one's ability to acquire possessions.
Or listening to someone confess this.
Since it is boring enough to watch them try,
To cry fake tears.
'You don't know how I wish,
Things between us had been different.'
~For what reason?
To experience the reality of feeling something real?
Or to relive your comments,
That I am not addressing my potential to impress.
Which thoughtless direction would you like to reminisce?
And what re-action from me do you expect? ~

Fling Of Mine
When I was just a two foot belly button jack
I saved all my money robbin the penn central track
Cause money was a thing of mine
And I had that thing in my head
But if honeys just a fling of mine
Why aint that fling in my bed
When I grew to be a big boy my pa he got me a bride
I married a girl named bunny had a fanny thirteen feet wide
Cause bunny was a thing of mine
And me and that thing we got wed
But if honeys just a fling of mine
Why aint that fling in my bed
Soon Im gonna be a big star have nothing but the cream of the crop
And maybe someday Ill go back to bunny
And say aint you proud of this wop
Cause funny fames a thing of mine
And Ill sing that thing till Im dead
But if honeys just a fling of mine
Why aint that fling in my bed
Oh lord if honeys just a fling of mine
Why aint that fling in my bed.

Lenexa Baptist Church = Esther’s Love
Esther of God’s Bible became a king’s queen
Risking all for the sake of love.
She saved her people form total extinction
By responding to her call from above.
All through history just like Esther
Ladies have pledged to protect and serve.
They love, honor, defend and provide
And it’s our admiration they’ve earned and deserve.
What would life be without a woman’s love
Meaningless, lonely, purposeless and sad.
When your blessed by an Esther love her in return
And be sure to let God know you're thankful and glad.
Girls It Aint Easy
(ronald dunbar / edith wayne)
Yeah, it aint easy
Girls it aint easy
To keep the man you love satisfied
It aint easy
Girls it aint easy
To keep the one you love by your side
A womans work is never done
Never stops, it goes on and on
You work your fingers to the bone
You gotta be home every time he phones
Sometimes the going gets a little tough
Seems like my best aint good enough
Keeps you losing sleep
Seven days a week, yeah
It aint easy
Girls it aint easy
To keep the man you love satisfied
It aint easy
Girls it aint easy
To keep the one you love by your side
To keep him happy
You must sacrifice
Be ready and willing
To spend lonely nights
Do what you can
Though he seems ungrateful
Love him so true
Even though he seems unfaithful
But when his hope is gone
And life gets him down
Thats when hell say
He needs you around
Hard to live with him
Hard to live without him
It aint easy, no
Oh, yeah, it aint easy
Girls it aint easy
It aint easy
Girls it aint easy
You got to favour him with understanding
When understanding is what he needs
We try hard to give them respect
All that we get is their regret
But when theyre in trouble
They need our love and care
No matter when we gotta be right there
In between the crying
Gotta keep trying
It aint easy
Girls it aint easy, ooh, ooh, ooh
It aint easy
Girls it aint easy
It aint easy
Girls it aint easy, yeah, ooh
It aint easy
Girls it aint easy, no

Patient Enough to Sit
I sit and wonder,
Why so many choose to move backward?
Why a determination to prove an ignorance is there.
And why,
Would a stagnation provide a cause for their celebration?
And elated in darkness as they chase Sun away.
I sit and wonder,
Why is there glory perceived in hidden self defeat?
Is it the activity that attracts one to constantly weep?
Is it a pride one denies when their weaknesses no longer hide.
Is it the fear of someone despised,
Wanting to clear their path of debris...
To enable them to walk freely outside and,
Be!
With a clarity to 'see' no enemies stalking to wish them ill!
I sit and wonder,
And sometimes I deep breathe to be very still.
Absorbing the peace that comes.
Being available,
Without a single thought as to who might bring me harm.
As I sit in such peacefulness wondering why I feel unique.
And blessed to be patient enough to sit quietly and receive.
I am not unique.
I am not that self indulgent,
To carry around thoughts like within me.
I may be more determined to leave behind,
THAT which brings me sorrow.
Because...
I aint into it!
Nor will I allow myself to borrow agony.
From whiners who dine on it.
I choose not to be weak.
And that alone can be a painful experience,
I know!
I am glad I awakened.
And did not fall back to sleep.
I refuse to be fed from confusing heads.
Those that choose to feed themselves on morbid deeds.
I choose not to be weak!
Because...
I aint into it!

I Wish I Had My Home

Home
What is a home?
Where is home?
When can I go home?
Home is a place where you can feel safe
Home is a place where you can break down in the free
Home is the place where you feel joy happiness and whole
Home is a place where you lay your heart in
I have laid my heart in three different places
(What) My first home is a place everywhere
All I need is a basket and a ball
All I did was give a ball love and I got something better in return
A ball gave me hope, understanding and appreciation for true love
I have never put more hours into one thing than it
It was always my top priority and I was it’s top priority
Better than any girlfriend and any friend

I wish I had my home
(Where) My home is a place where dreams are rested and free and comfort
I feel safe, I feel that I can get some sleep and I feel that Im at home
When my body needs a rest it has hammocks for me
When I need a place to think and collaborate it always had a quite spot with a beautiful view for me
When I need a place to escape to, it welcomes me with open arms and I can stay as long as I like
I have made my imprint in the Cayman Islands and It has left its imprint in me and have left one part of my life in it and
I wish I could go back home.
(When) I miss her so much and I would do anything to see her again
I miss her humbleness, her laugh and her comfort when I need to break down
I miss her when I need her there or when there is a good moment
I miss my home because my home is in her
She is my home but it is a place where I cannot stay
Instead of me leaving my home, my home left me and I forgot something inside
I know she can take care of my home but I hope she takes care of my heart
If it has too I know it will bleed for her and it would become hers
All I want is to know when I can go and see my home where my heart lays

Charity Starters
Charity starts at home don't we say?
Be kind to kith and kin come what may.
A family's not only your safe haven
Tis pals, your very own roots
Water those shoots with love devoid of hate
so they bear you sweeter fruits.
Maybe you'd say that's not so easy
but perhaps that's coz you're just too busy
Or your clock just don't chime
for quality family time.
For if you can't make time for a letter or a hug
then let my poem give your conscience a gentle tug.
And if this may sound like a preachy homily
deserves much more mention and affection the family!
If you can make time for so many things
some of them not even worthwhile
Try discover the happiness family brings
A lil modifying that routine of lifestyle
My words in crystal clear clarity
sing compassion's likewise a charity
Charity need not be for strangers only
Find out who needs help in kindred and family
Ties of kinship severe not
Value the relations you've got
Your father, brothers, sisters from your family tree
and all else that you call family.

A Thankful Smile
My daily appearance is Mr nice guy and pleasant,
there’s no time to throw a fit of temperament.
Many people rely on me to smile and understand,
listen to their problems, and give a helping hand.
If only they knew about the pain that I have to bear,
it would fill them with an even greater despair.
They might curiously ask why I choose everyday
to walk a hilly path, with problems along the way.
They also might say that I should be at home in bed,
with someone to look after me instead.
But I’m not one, who can just lie and wait to die,
I have to help the less fortunate, well at least try.
With the time I've left I have to do something,
something that makes my heart sing.
Something that'll make my life seem worthwhile,
even if it's only a thankful smile.

Trying A Way To Fit In
Every morning that I am blessed to have awakened,
I am in the classroom and prepared to be tested.
And if I didn't regard my life that way,
I'd be struggling with the feeling of failure
On a daily basis.
And
If I did not think or believe
I had an opportunity before me,
To improve upon my weak performances...
I'd be afraid to appear on stage
when I left my place of comfort.
Every morning.
However.
Before I do any of that.
And forget I am constantly teased and tempted,
By the trappings of life.
I express my gratitude to 'whatever' it is,
That has granted me 'consciousness' about this process.
Because I know if I didn't have it
I'd be rushing to a psychologist helping me find a way to fit in.
And I will not blame any of this craziness I've witnessed on God.
Even though an awareness of what is going on is inescapable.
And those trying a way to fit in,
To satisfy others with their accomplishments and possessions...
Seem not to be able to acquire happiness.
So glad am I.
When I discovered I could not purchase happiness after years of trying,
I was relieved.

Learning to Live My Life
Does that apparatus,
Provide you with a sense of status?
Does the way someone dress,
Immediately impresses you...
To provide that 'image'
You may choose or refuse to select?
With a hope for a beginning,
Of a thirst that does not finish...
From its first taste.
Wishing it not to ever be quenched!
To discover this for you becomes a preferred routine...
Only to get bored with the same familiar scene?
Me too!
However...
I did awaken one day refusing to do,
The expected.
And rejecting to become accepted,
On someone else's terms!
Learning to live my life,
Free to be me.
And finding it cost effective...
With no approval to be earned!
Or emotions left to pamper,
When they've been scorched...
And wounded from a burn!
