Catch Up Cat Sups
Core goals when swallowed whole entice
as swishing wishing well tail shows
when slinking, thinking in a trice
fine feathered friend: saliva flows.
Mustache movement senses, vice
like clawed paws pre-pared for sure slice
as appetite terrific grows
anticipates high fligher’s crow
which Bastet knows proved far too slow.
One creeps, one leaps, one sweep and then
won feathered nest within one's den.

Bird Life
Perched upon an old wheelbarrow-
Scrutinizing Crow,
commentated long, on all he saw.
Feathered friends, who came to wallow,
splashing in the bird-bath hollow
disregarded Crow's bizarre guffaw.
'Are you starling, from the meadow'?
asked the puzzled crow.
'You fit the bill and yet I see a flaw'.
'Tail feathers, long and narrow,
sharp as swallow's twin-pronged arrow,
force me to admit, I'm quite unsure'.
'I'm the Swarling from the plateau',
bird replied, 'Hello'.
'My plumage is unique and furthermore'-
'Meet my friend, the warbling Starlow,
deft in flight as dancing shadow,
blessed with starling beak and swallow claw'.
'Preposterous'! said crow with gusto,
'strange imbroglio'.
'You must be one or other, it's the law'.
To which the enigmatic duo,
chirped a ringing manifesto.
Crow could think of nowt to say, but 'Caw'.

The Black Crow (in answer to Ted Hughes)
Crow flew up into the air
looking, always searching
with a keen eye
roving down to earth from the sky
with wings flapping
under the blazing sun
almost blurring in
their quick movement
and flying from the blinding sun
with paws folded in
but at a time he had to dropp down
like lightning falling from the sky
to find something somewhere
a mouse, a rat or a bigger rabbit
to feed with claws ripping
with blood oozing red under them.
Blacker than the night,
spreading his wings
again he challenged the sky
thinking about being supreme
and that was his undoing
as he flew up as high as eagles do
against bare cliffs to a nest of their young
and faster than light, was pierced, was flung from it
dropping down from the heights
and heard the screaming roar
of a eagle’s triumphant song
just before death ended everything for crow.

At crow's nest pass
At Crow's Nest Pass the mountains rend
Themselves apart, the rivers wend
A lawless course about their feet,
And breaking into torrents beat
In useless fury where they blend
At Crow's Nest Pass.
The nesting eagle, wise, discreet,
Wings up the gorge's lone retreat
And makes some barren crag her friend
At Crow's Nest Pass.
Uncertain clouds, half-high, suspend
Their shifting vapours, and contend
With rocks that suffer not defeat;
And snows, and suns, and mad winds meet
To battle where the cliffs defend
At Crow's Nest Pass.

The Mouse and the Grouse
The teeny, tiny mouse said to the finely feathered grouse
“I’d like to come and visit you in your lofty, lovely house.”
The finely feathered grouse smiled at the teeny, tiny mouse
And said, “You can’t since I'm saving it for my future spouse.”
The sad teeny, tiny mouse said, as tears started to douse,
“I’m lonely and just wanted to say hello, finely feathered grouse.”
Well, the finely feathered grouse with his lofty, lovely house
Was lonely too since he hadn’t yet found his future spouse.
But how could a mouse so teeny, tiny and a grouse so fine of feather
Ever visit each other and have a talk together?
They had nothing in common and their lives had different starts.
Although one thing was the same; they both had hurting hearts.
No one had ever visited the finely feathered grouse
And he did like friendly words uttered by the teeny, tiny mouse.
As mister mouse gazed aloft, sir grouse returned that smile
And suddenly blurted out, “Come on up and we’ll chat for awhile.”
Overjoyed, the teeny, tiny mouse jumped, but just bumped the tree.
Then tears wet ears to tail as teeny tiny moaned mournfully,
“You can fly free through the air, but alas, I’m earthbound.
There’s no hope since you live in a tree, but my house is on the ground.”
Suddenly, a star from the heavens flashed an idea for these two.
Perhaps they could visit together if both tried something new.
The finely feathered grouse left his lofty, lovely house
And eagerly landed in a bush near the star struck tiny mouse.
In one hop teeny, tiny leapt toward the bush, and I’ve heard tell
That the friendship of grouse and mouse has been doing very well.

Stripped, Clawed and Flawed
Too many rather skip to a bar and nip.
Until they feel an alcoholic 'trip'.
And sit refusing to admit...
They're drowning denials that cause them fits.
Too many feel henpecked and nitpicked.
By spouses ripping them to bits.
And they choose then to bemoan their whims.
With others near,
Befriending them!
Spending every dime and feeling sick.
Leaving drunk with no left tip!
Stripped, clawed and flawed,
From a baring of emotions felt so raw!
Spending every dime and feeling sick.
Leaving drunk with no left tip!
Stripped, clawed and flawed.
And wishing they had not flapped,
Or dropped jaws.
Stripped, clawed and flawed,
From a baring of emotions felt so raw!
Around strangers who now know all!
And wishing they had not dropped jaws.
Stripped,
Clawed and flawed.
From a baring of emotions felt so raw!
Around strangers who now know all!
And wishing they had not dropped jaws!
Stripped,
Clawed and flawed.
'You left me not tip? '
Flawed and clawed.
'You left me not tip? '
Clawed and flawed
'You left me not tip? '
Flawed and clawed.
Stripped,
Clawed and flawed.
'You left me not tip? '
Flawed and clawed.
'You left me not tip? '
Clawed and flawed.
'You left me not tip? '
Flawed and clawed.
Stripped,
Clawed and flawed!

Ease. 1914
The iron is hidden in forgetfulness.
A smoothness comes to men and lies on lands.
Women of peace arise in lustred dress,
and hold aloft their sleek and perfect hands.
the birds are in the morn, the bees in the noon.
The eve has song and sleep and slow repose.
A lazy Ease treads soft on feathered shoon
that leaves no sign to show the way she goes.
Soft cheeks there are; and Guile with coiling hair
smiles at the earth and croons within her chair.
The slow leaves fall, and rustling Night begins
Her reign of furriness. the slinking feet
Of half-seen things and thoughts bring brushing sins
and warmths of fog that touch a smouldering heat.

Little Bird Song
Theres a little bird
Somebody sent down to earth
To live along the wind
Blowing on the wind
And she sleeps on the wind
This little bird, somebody sent
Light and fragile
And feathered sky blue
Thin and graceful
The sun shining through
She flies so high up in the sky
Way out of reach of human eyes
Light and fragile
And feathered sky blue
Thin and graceful
The sun shining through
She flies so high up in the sky
Way out of reach of human eyes
Light and fragile
And feathered sky blue
Thin and graceful
The sun shining through
And the only time that she touches ground
Is when that little bird, little bird
Is when that little bird, little bird
Is when that little bird, little bird
Is when that little bird dies

Disgrace
We work all day
for a house and car.
Tarred and feathered
is what we are.
Stuck like Brer Rabbit
trying to get away
from mortgages and loans
and all we pay.
But that's the good
old American way.
We complain and comlain
but have no say.
We need a place to live
and a way to travel
so we pay and watch
our accounts unravel.
The cycle's unending.
The road's too long.
We can't find the end of it.
It's just plain wrong.
The scam is in place
for the tarred, feathered face.
And what we now have
is a damned disgrace.

More on Unicorns
Part I
Doth the unicorns
Leap forth across the universe
Or just in our imagination
Doth the malachite hooves
Spark on the mercurial seas of Neptune
Or behind the eyes of our pretensions
And fly on feathered wings
Or just in our fancy
Part II
For in my mind
The unicorns stand
In a nervous sort of way
Longing to be gone
Only off to be away
Away...away free from care
On feathered wing into the air
Quickly, look or they
Will be gone
Leaving only the Sparks
And a sad sad song

Tomorrow Morning
Lonely, lost every part of me
maybe, outstayed my company
walking in to sad scenes
hold me tight and say goodbye
I've seen, behind tomorrow's sky
you be, my missing alibi
bone me over backwards
turn around and change my mind
Cause I've been thinking
about our world tonight
slowly sinking into my appetite
tomorrow morning
are you a friend of mine
I swear, you've left me open
nowhere, to hide this moment
overcrowded daydreams
we're lost or so it seems
Cause I've been thinking
about our world tonight
slowly sinking into my appetite
tomorrow morning
are you a friend of mine
Cause I've been thinking
about our world tonight
slowly sinking into my appetite
tomorrow morning
are you a friend of mine

Even Those Paid to Be Biased
People are awakening to realize,
They've been played.
Even those paid to be biased,
To spy on others...
Find they've been set up,
To sit and quack like feathered ducks.
Eyes all over the place,
Are opening wide to see...
Exactly who those victims are.
And recognizing everyday,
The identity of the wolves.
And knowing they've been branded as sheep.
People are awakening to realize,
They've been played.
Even those paid to be biased,
To spy on others...
Find they've been set up,
To sit and quack like feathered ducks.
And the ones who tremble and shake in their limousines,
Find they feel desperate not to be revealed, caught or seen.
Afraid their deceiving and greedy days,
Rapidly lose in snob appeal and popularity.
And in their social circles they sweat, yes!
All of them are suffering in nervous regret!
People are awakening to realize,
They've been played.
Even those paid to be biased,
To spy on others...
Find they've been set up,
To sit and quack like feathered ducks.

A Boy's Summer Song
'Tis fine to play
In the fragrant hay,
And romp on the golden load;
To ride old Jack
To the barn and back,
Or tramp by a shady road.
To pause and drink,
At a mossy brink;
Ah, that is the best of joy,
And so I say
On a summer's day,
What's so fine as being a boy? Ha, Ha!
With line and hook
By a babbling brook,
The fisherman's sport we ply;
And list the song
Of the feathered throng
That flit in the branches nigh.
At last we strip
For a quiet dip;
Ah, that is the best of joy.
For this I say
On a summer's day,
What's so fine as being a boy? Ha, Ha!

Wishing You Were Here
Sleepless hours and dreamless nights and far aways
Ooo ooo ooo, wishing you were here
Heaven knows and lord it shows when Im away
Ooo ooo ooo, wishing you were here
Same old show in a different town on another time
Ooo ooo ooo, wishing you were here
Even though youre far away, youre on my mind
Ooo ooo ooo, wishing you were here
And Id like to change my life, and you know I would
Just to be with you tonight, baby, if I could
But Ive got my job to do, and I do it well,
So I guess thats how it is.
Ooo ooo ooo, wishing you were here
Ooo ooo ooo, wishing you were here
On the road its a heavy load, but Ill get by
Ooo ooo ooo, wishing you were here
Pay the price, make a sacrifice, and still Ill try
Ooo ooo ooo, wishing you were here

Nostalgic Memories!
A crow built a nest on our tree
taking up the sticks from the broom
and laid its golden egg and sat over it often.
No loitering of rats, cats, squirrels there!
The crow would caw to call out its kin
and roust the menacing creatures away.
A fledgling hatched out, and crowed a hoarse cry.
When its chick went near the edge of the nest,
The crow would draw it in with its beak.
If the rains poured, it would cuddle its chick.
A flock of crows cried, “ caw, caw, caw, caw! ”
and urged the young one to flight off.
My Goodness! I see it again near the nest daily morn.
Nostalgic memories bring the birds too back home.

Reproduction
When
dry mung bean grows true,
hound brings reaper's quail,
deep in jungle beds,
spun cloth bound cocoon,
doe retires in slouch,
grappling air for space,
briny mating reels,
ferns hold mooring bonds,
coral spawning brief,
sticks weave weathered nest,
bullfrog had droll dirge,
and viral pins host cells.
Then
shy young green shows through,
foundling cheepers fail,
creep thin fungal threads,
one moth flounders soon,
joey hires skin pouch,
sapling fair draws pace,
tiny baiting eels,
turns fold sporing fronds,
floral dawning reef,
chicks leave feathered rest,
full bog tadpoles surge,
and spiral inmost dwells.

Mistake of Fact!
Crow! Crow!
Male crow! Female crow!
Love each other,
Wife and husband;
Wife crow lays eggs,
All are white!
Husband crow suspects
Loyalty and fidelity;
Ignorant husband,
Innocent wife,
Wife crow shows
other nests;
Trust assured
Sorry sorry,
Mistake of Fact, Forget it,
We love for ever!

Any Way You Slice It
I caught the tail of a hurricane and Ive never ever been the same
I went out on a limb, gotcha under my skin, well alright
You got dirt under your fingernails
What Im thinkin can land me in jail
Well, youre caught in this trap and you can never go back
Well, oh no no
I know you wanna cross the border and you know the doctors orders
Well its better late than never, cant stay innocent forever
Its alright, its alright, yeah
Any way you slice it, any way you slice it
You know you cant deny it, any way you slice it
Youre hot under the collar
Aint your mothers little daughter anymore
Ooh, aint no wolf on the corner, cant keep it in any longer
Well if youre lookin for bliss
What I got you cant miss, well alright
When it works like a charm itll do you no harm
Youll be in heaven tonight
I know youll feel alright
Any way you slice it, any way you slice it
You know you cant deny it, any way you slice it
I know whats in your heart, I know whats in your mind
Any way you slice it, any way you slice it
You know you cant deny it, any way you slice it
Youre hot under the collar
Aint your mothers little daughter anymore
I know you wanna cross the border and you know the doctors orders
Well its better late than never, cant stay innocent forever
No, no, no, no
Yeah, alright
Well, if I told you once, I told you twice
Just listen, babe, and take my advice
Why settle for seconds when you can have the best
So let me be your king bee, I want your hornets nest
Any way you slice it, any way you slice it
You know you cant deny it, any way you slice it
I know whats in your heart, I know whats in your mind, yeah
Any way you slice it, any way you slice it
I know you cant deny it, any way you slice it
Youre hot under the collar
Aint your mothers little daughter anymore
You know you aint your mothers little daughter anymore
Any way, ooh hoo

Holy September
A kiss on the lips of today
For stepping into tommorow.
The blinds are closed for now.
Don't sell yourself for sorrow.
Oh! Precious my september.
Begins with all the stars.
Buses from the summer.
In september driving cars.
Praising my september.
Praising all my needs.
Sends me to tomorrow.
September grows my seeds.
Officers of my journey.
With love inside the day.
The tolerance of my wonder.
The tolerence of my dismay.
Nestled in september.
You've wakened from those dreams.
Oh holy, my september.
The cloth around my seams.
September shines around me,
Like the sun onto my day.
September my september.
Is there any other way?

Sonnet 36
You go ahead and tell me
I know what's been going on
Why can't you simply see
This idea of yours is so wrong
Behind your back he creeps in
Showers me with words of love
My friend where do I now begin
What is he really thinking of!
Point your finger at me you do
Red faced and high angry tone
Tell me friend where was you
When he and I was left alone
Tell you true sorry to admit
He placed his kiss on my lips
