Truly, the challenges we face are not Democratic challenges or Republican challenges. In fact, they are not political challenges at all; they are fiscal challenges, and educational challenges, and the challenges of figuring out how to take care of each other.

Hindu Wedding On A Jasmine Day
The season of JASMINE is blooming.
Wedding is on a day of JASMINE.
The couple are ready for the holy-bond.
Guests are ready with their blessing-band.
Baskets of garlands and stringed JASMINE,
With decorative JASMINE tassles is pleasing.
The fragrance of JASMINE is ambrosial!
Breathtaking! JASMINES' aroma is celestial.
Her long plait padded with JASMINES strung,
Atop with strands of JASMINE being swung,
The bride is given a garland of JASMINE.
Also the 'groom is given a garland of JASMINE.
The family deity is adorned with JASMINE.
The guests are given strands of JASMINE.
The couple garland each other in heck.
The 'groom ties an yellow thread around bride's neck.
The priest makes the groom by seven steps,
Promise to guard his spouse in life's ups.
Splattering holy rice and scenty JASMINE,
All bless 'LONG SMELLY LIKE JASMINE'!

Challenges
Life is full of challenges
with every step we take.
Each day we wake up
to new challenges
for us to get through
and each day we face them
to win our way through.

A Flower To Auroville Mother-35
Yellow Jasmine, (Italian Jasmine,
Jasminum humile)
Atlast, I've found her
Long-lasting fragrant
Pentapetaled brighter
A Jasmine so anticipant
Yellowy, godly rewarding
Daughter of Himalayas
Willowy angularly branching
Shrubby with pinnate leaves
A Jasmine so anticipant
Of respect and worship
Inviting charm and scent
Medicative sure a godship

From One's Soul
When a rawness has rubbed off,
And one knows they have paid the cost...
With that touch that is finished.
To glow and not diminish.
A gloss radiating seems to fit,
An acknowledgement that praises it.
Raise up a glass.
And toast those facts at last.
That a polishing done did it.
With a sparkling gloss it gets.
Raise up a glass.
And toast those facts at last.
That a polishing done did it.
With a sparkling gloss it gets.
When it's done from one's soul,
It can not be bought or sold.
With that giving of a gloss it gets.
And an attention that seems fit.
When it's done from one's soul,
It can not be repo(ed) .
With a polishing done to it.
And that gloss that seems to fit.
Raise up a glass.
And toast those facts at last.
That a polishing done did it.
With a sparkling gloss it gets.
When a rawness has rubbed off,
And one knows they have paid the cost...
It can not be repo(ed) .
When it's done from one's soul.
And...
A polishing done did it.
With a sparkling gloss it gets.

Did You Ask For Sarcasm?
You may pay to be mass produced.
Using to abuse your own talents.
And then you tell me with a straight face,
I'm not the one to recognize my own skills?
Not only do I recognize yours...
But,
I will give you a clue as to how aware I am.
'Sure.
Why not?
Amuse me,
Before I fall to sleep.'
You're not going to nod through this.
Trust me.
'Please.
Whatever you do,
Do not pull out any rabbits.
Flying birds.
Or talking mice.'
I can tell you anything,
And it's on the streets.
Like you are my press agent AND...
Publicist and head the department of advertising.
'Who said what and to who did somebody else,
Say to them that I said?
You can dropp some names on me if you like.
And there wont be none!
Because I am NOT like that.'
Yes you are.
And you should be just 'that' for yourself.
Just your gossiping alone,
Has saved me at least 80% of my advertising budget...
I've would have had to spend if not for you.
So don't feel offended.
I'm saying you are great at what you do,
But focus more of that attention on yourself.
And when you do...
You will be amazed by the results you will receive.
'Why are you being so sarcastic? '
You want to argue.
This is about business and what is cost effective.
Your heart says 'Yes! '
But your head is too thick with nonsense,
To notice you have a mind.
Was that 'you' who asked for sarcasm?
Or was that more of a demand?

My Cautious Cat Says, 'Take Care!
'It's not that a cat's nine lives to share,
You tell it to scat, so it learns, 'take care'!
Beware Mankind's oft-changing whim,
Else end up dead or dazed or dim!
To land on one's feet is truly clever,
To find refuge from unruly weather,
To hunt, of course, refines one's wits,
But a scaredy cat's just scared to bits!
Nine lives! ? Not quite. Just one alone.
We scratch a living in Man's Twilight Zone.
We 'purr-fect' our skills with each new day,
Smelling the roses along the way...'

Haircut.
The Barber came to cut my hair,
I told him that it wasn't fair.
My hair had done him no harm,
Without it I would loose my charm.
The Barber he grinned a silly grin,
Said to cut my hair would be no sin.
That I should face it like a man,
But I'm a coward and away I ran.
Do you like sitting in a Barbers chair,
With him chopping away your lovely hair.
Once my head was full of curls,
Covering my face with twisty twirls.
But then the Barber came my way,
I was a child, I had no say.
Off came my curls one by one,
The Barber seemed to have great fun.
Now I'm old and very grey,
I'm nearly bald, my hairs gone away.
But when I see a Barbers chair,
I feel the loss of my curly hair.
You know I truly rue the day,
When that first Barber came my way.

My dad's hair is made of Mint Ice Cream.
My sister's hair is made of Vanilla Ice Cream.
My halve sister's hair is made of Strawberry Ice Cream.
My brother's hair is made of Coconut Ice Cream.
My halve brother's hair is made of Blue Berry Ice Cream.
My baby sister's hair is made of Banana Split Ice Cream.
What is my hair made out of?
All of the above,
and a hint of sprinkles; -) .

Broken Promises
Summer and smoke, diamonds and dust
Go where you will, do what you must
The promise was made, your word was enough
We had dreams, visions and plans
Into the night, out of our hands
Letting our passion fulfill our demands
I remember those songs on the radio
The jasmine, the wind in your hair
Does it seem like so long ago?
*broken promises
Is it written in stone that we wind up alone
Wo oh, broken promises
And a heart that recalls
When the promise was all that we had*
Into the dust, reckless we rode
Secret desire, talking in code
Bittersweet madness, the stories unfold
I remember those songs on the radio
The jasmine, the wind in your hair
And how it hurts to remember those
( * repeat)

1. Sisterly Love
the indian woman is
a tormented soul
weeping secret tears
ink that writes lines
of anguish all over
her countenance
her large, sharp and slit eyes
pour longingly into the
the jasmine she strings
everyday for hours
in india street
pure, white, dainty
a softness and scent
that two days from now
will be nothing more than
a dehydrated mess
a mere sore to the eyes
a transience fills the gap
between the flowers
a string of luxury that helps
her to keep a sister close
to her hands, her heart
first jasmine, a sister's
smile, second jasmine,
a sister's promises,
third jasmine, another
sister's smile, fourth
jasmine.....every gap she feels
a loss, a love her fingers will no
more grasp and a sister
her eyes will no more hold

The Jasmine Corridor
In all my lives, I never knew anyone like you before.
Woke up one day, swore I heard the sound of heaven knocking on my door.
And after all these years long passing,
Time to reflect, no time for wasting.
Walking down the jasmine corridor.
Reflecting echoes of quiet laughter.
In all my life, I was never better served than I was served by you.
And in my way, hope you agree I tried to serve you too.
Out on the headland I stepped once unsteady.
You there to catch me , I breathe more freely.
Hand in mine down the jasmine corridor.
Through all my life, I chased flitting illusions at a faster pace.
Never stopped to think: the moment was for seizing, had myself to face.
You made my bed to lie in, stately.
Mad cats, grandchildren, here more often lately.
The final view from the jasmine corridor.
