Sonnet XIII. Addressed To Haydon
High-mindedness, a jealousy for good,
A loving-kindness for the great man's fame,
Dwells here and there with people of no name,
In noisome alley, and in pathless wood:
And where we think the truth least understood,
Oft may be found a 'singleness of aim,'
That ought to frighten into hooded shame
A money-mongering, pitiable brood.
How glorious this affection for the cause
Of steadfast genius, toiling gallantly!
What when a stout unbending champion awes
Envy and malice to their native sty?
Unnumbered souls breathe out a still applause,
Proud to behold him in his country's eye.

They Are The Ones That Others Envy
I have issues with people who leave people...
Begging on the streets with nothing to eat.
Or treat others like they're not even human equals.
And then look disgusted like they are diseased
No human being can teach a cat hygiene.
Nor can you teach a grown up to be clean.
Nobody should be teaching who to respect.
That should be a given and not a pick to peck.
I have issues with the snots with turned up noses.
As if they have scents of champion roses.
Ooo I can't believe these people are the ones who stink.
And-they-believe,
They are the ones that others envy?
Who made them runner up for fresh sainthoods?
Who showed them evilness was anything good?
Who gave them rights to think they beam like light?
And who told them they approve the Sun that rises high!
Yes I have issues with the snots with turned up noses.
As if they have scents of champion roses.
Ooo I can't believe these people are the ones who stink.
And-they-believe,
They are the ones that others envy?
They believe,
They are the ones that others envy.
And they believe,
They are the ones that others envy.
They believe,
They are the ones that others envy.
And they believe,
They are the ones that others envy.
I have issues with the snots with turned up noses.
And they believe,

I have issues with the snots with turned up noses.

I Will Take The Money
In assets quite poor with little cash to my name
I will take the money you can have the fame
Your fame it will not buy you a loaf of bread
No you have the fame I'll have money instead
Your money speaks more of you as it does seem
Than fame or it's sibling known as high esteem
With money as such they cannot hope to compare
This simple truth with you I only do share
Few things money cannot buy that much we do know
And on bushes and trees money it does not grow
In life it is quite important it does seem that way
And it does speak every language as some are known to say
Perhaps I may sound greedy for that me do not blame
When I say I will take the money you can have the fame.

Jealously
Who was with you - where you been?
Baby it can't be this again
I can't cool it 'cos i can't win it with you
Words like punches - things we said
Under the belt and in the head
Down for the count in a cold cold bed
Beat by jealousy
Jealousy - jealousy
Stanglehold - love can't breathe
Let me be - set me free
Jealousy
You won't hear what i imply
What you say - i won't buy
You deny but you lie
Jealousy
Jealousy - jealousy
Stanglehold - love can't breathe
Let me be - set me free
Jealousy
Down suspicious - torn in doubt
Dirty vicious - knock me out
Danger, danger - stakes are high
Hook the blow between the eyes
Every round - we lose more ground
Jealousy
Jealousy - jealousy
Stanglehold - love can't breathe
Let me be - set me free
Jealousy

Ubi Caritas
Where love and loving-kindness are together, God is always there
Since Christ’s love has gathered us all together in one company,
Let us rejoice and take delight n Him, now and forever,
Let us now without any reserve or deception love one another.
Where love and loving-kindness are together, God is always there,
Therefore, whenever we are together,
Let us not be divided from each other in our feelings;
Let spite, quarreling and strife cease among us, and may Christ, who is God, be in our midst.
Where love and loving-kindness are together, God is always there
Bring us, in the company of the blessed, to behold Your great beauty,
To see Your face in glory, Christ our God,
There to possess heaven’s peace and joy, Your truth and love,
Happiness of immeasurable excellence.
Amen

A Passing Voice
'Turn me a rhyme,' said Fate,
'Turn me a rhyme:
A swift and deadly hate
Blows headlong towards thee in the teeth of Time.
Write! or thy words will fall too late.'
'Write me a fold,' said Fate,
'Write me a fold,
Life to conciliate,
Of words red with thine heart's blood, hotly told.
Then, kings may envy thine estate!'
'Make thee a fame,' said Fate,
'Make thee a fame
To storm the heaven-hung gate,
Unbarred alone to the victorious name
Which has Art's conquerors to mate.'
'Die in thy shame,' said Fate,
'Die in thy shame!
Naught here can compensate
But the proud radiance of that glorious flame,
Genius: fade, thou, unconsecrate!'

Jealousy
Jealousy
First comes luxury, that's all they see
Jealousy
How could I believe you
Jealousy
You can't find the key without honesty
They want my money, they don't care about me
I trusted them, I helped them
They disappointed me
It's hard to accept it
I feel this jealousy
How could you deceive me
Your life becomes a lie
Stop spreading all the rumours
I'm feeling abused
Hard to find out who's an honest friend
Trust in someone who you understand
I am tired of this jealousy
I walk this way on heaven's road
Accept my destiny
Another rumour's going round and round
What a foolish answer I have found
You're a liar without any shame
Everywhere they mess around,
They're playing wicked games
No more jealousy, insanity, eternally in memory
All for one, one for all, could be reality
I see, they want my money, they don't care about me
Free is what I wanna be
Always think twice about the things you say or do
Cause one day the lie you believe, will become true
Stop spreading all the rumours, I told you a long time ago
But now - you're a liar, you're a liar
Life is tough, so you gotta get tougher
Rough enough not like a toy, of joy and pain
You blamed my name, it's a shame, life ain't no game
Like truth or dare, I care, I swear
I was there, anytime, anyplace, anywhere,
I doubt how to heal an open wound, don't turn around
Did you forget I was your friend, trust in someone and I found
Out - you're a liar, you're a liar

Vanitas! Vanitatum Vanitas!
MY trust in nothing now is placed,
Hurrah!
So in the world true joy I taste,
Hurrah!
Then he who would be a comrade of mine
Must rattle his glass, and in chorus combine,
Over these dregs of wine.
I placed my trust in gold and wealth,
Hurrah!
But then I lost all joy and health,
Lack-a-day!
Both here and there the money roll'd,
And when I had it here, behold,
From there had fled the gold!
I placed my trust in women next,
Hurrah!
But there in truth was sorely vex'd,
Lack-a-day!
The False another portion sought,
The True with tediousness were fraught,
The Best could not be bought.
My trust in travels then I placed,
Hurrah!
And left my native land in haste.
Lack-a-day!
But not a single thing seem'd good,
The beds were bad, and strange the food,
And I not understood.
I placed my trust in rank and fame,
Hurrah!
Another put me straight to shame,
Lack-a-day!
And as I had been prominent,
All scowl'd upon me as I went,
I found not one content.
I placed my trust in war and fight,
Hurrah!
We gain'd full many a triumph bright,
Hurrah!
Into the foeman's land we cross'd,
We put our friends to equal cost,
And there a leg I lost.
My trust is placed in nothing now,
Hurrah!
At my command the world must bow,
Hurrah!
And as we've ended feast and strain,
The cup we'll to the bottom drain;
No dregs must there remain!

Give yourself a Show: New Year's Eve
TO my fellow sinners all, who, in hope and doubt,
Through the Commonwealth to-night watch the Old Year out,
New Year’s Resolutions are jerry-built I know,
But I want to say to you, “Give yourselves a show”.
You who drink for drinking’s sake, love for lust alone,
Thinking heaven is a myth and the world your own—
Dancing gaily down to hell in the devil’s dance—
This I have to say to you: “Give your souls a chance”.
You who drink because of shame that you think will last,
Or because of wrong done you—trouble in the past—
“Nothing left to live for now,” you will say, I know;
But you have your own self yet, give that self a show!
You who want all things on earth—money, love, and fame
Having the advantage of worldly place or name—
You who have more than you want, even than you know,
In the glorious New Year give someone else a show.
You, the mischief-makers all, who in secret glee
Love to tell the villainies of a scamp like me;
There are things he’ll never tell—things you’ll never know—
Look into your own lives first—give the man a show.
You, the politician, who, for jealousy or gold,
Or for mean ambition, sell, or see your country sold,
Pandering to the hollow crowd, toadying to the low,
For shame’s sake banish selfishness—give your land a show.

Power And Fame
Great is your power.
Great is your fame.
But what do people
think of your name?
The power you have
what good has it done?
The fame you have
how did it come?
This you must ask
and answer with truth.
Did it come to you
in your innocent youth?
Or were you enticed
by the power for greed?
Did your love of ego
fulfill your need?
Do you use your power
to do good deeds?
Does the fame you have
fill others' needs?
Too many have fallen
into the trap
and drew for themselves
a fool's roadmap.
For only a fool
can think his fame
will immortalize
his earthly name.
For names are forgotten
by generations, new.
They don't remember
your fame or you.

Because Of Money
Because of money people wish on others harm or ill
And because of money people others do injure or kill
And because of money great friendships have come to an end
And money can make you an enemy or make you a friend
To those with the power of money respect we do pay
And money speaks every language some are known to say
And those with the most money great power do command
That is something that is not hard to understand
Those with heaps of money enjoy the good life
The millionaire in his seventies has a twenty two year old wife
With brown hair to her shoulders and lovely to behold
She would not be with him if he were poor and old
But because of his money with him she will stay
Money speaks every language that's life as some say.

To Jyothi Basu – A Loving Tribute: The ‘Lamp’ is dead: Its light will always stay!
The ‘Lamp’ that lit the homes of myriad souls,
Who toiled, tilled, slogged as Indians proud, galore,
And stayed as guiding light achieving goals,
Has lost its oil and wick, and burns no more!
It stood as beacon for numerous souls,
Who flocked to him for wisdom that they sought,
And always got much more than they had thought;
The Lamp is gone but light it shone will stay!
The doyen worked his way uphill in life;
He stood beside all workers in their strife;
He was a perfect man, so rarely found,
He could have become mountain but stayed mound!
‘Hats off’ to leaders great who simple stay,
And lead unselfishly for others, way;
Who hold on party-men a trance-like sway,
Who lived for good principles every day!
The Lamp had burned for others sake for long;
Its light remains in hearts of myriad souls;
His glorious work will stay alive by song;
The man of mettle, heart of steel hadn’t holes!
No wonder, leaders praise him all sky-high!
His honest national service cannot die;
He left too big a void to be filled nigh;
His love for India is too great to vie!
‘God grant his soul eternal rest’, we pray!
May others follow his footsteps and way;
‘His example was golden’, people say;
He shines in hearts of many souls each day!
The ‘lamp’ is dead: Its light will always stay!
Dedicated in loving memory of the demised soul!

In the field
To walk or not to walk out of the filed should be dilemma
Not to create unruly scene, show off or any kind of drama
It has to be clear sportsmanship to play for the country
Respect in the entire manner without caring for records or money
You gain fame and status in the filed
Money and name along with innumerable yield
Yet the country may take highest honor with pride
You got to be exemplary with all the temptations to hide
It is disgrace if you walk out in protest
It is not you as an individual but country's name are put to test
Nothing should be done to malign the fair name
Name and fame will be of no use if mother land is put to shame
No award is acceptable at the cost of national dishonor
The flag must fly high and show its true color
It will speak of great ideals and total commitment
Towards world cause with integral movement
So anybody who is representing the symbol
Must rise above all and respond to clear call
It is not the defeat or wins but national pride
Upon whose waves we can make positive ride

Life Of A Conceptual Phoenix
Life Of A Conceptual Phoenix
One: a poor block uneducated but most are honest
read a lot of books
Gorky's university of life
Two: a little bit complex in the life
buying and selling things in the small market
pursuing formal education without future
under socialist party's dictatorial administration
Three: a literary life
freedom, equality and democracy are the norms
Four: Sandwitched by obsessive ego and aggressive ego
in a paranoid and schizophrenic towns
Five: a conceptual phoenix has got back his own nature has lost for a long life
Six: Character killing happened because of
1) Inferiority complex
2) Jealousy
3) born attitude
4) black ambitious mentality cultivated
5) Fame, money and sex
6) possession of high educational pride
7) guns, power, concepts which make a man an animal
*8) lack of contemplated wisdom
9) no community sense for the good of people
10) no loving kindness
Part of the reason that the government's fear mongering is succeeding is because so many people are so ignorant, that it is easier for government to frighten people in submission.

Class-Mates
Bob Briggs went in for Government,
And helps to run the State;
Some day they say he'll represent
His party in debate:
But with punk politics his job,
I do not envy Bob.
Jim Jones went in for writing books,
Best sellers were his aim;
He's ten years younger than he looks,
And licks the heels of Fame:
Though shop-girls make a fuss of him
I do not envy Jim.
Joe Giles went in for grabbing gold,
And grovelled in the dirt;
He, too, looks prematurely old,
His gastric ulcers hurt:
Although he has a heap of dough.
I do not envy Joe.
I've neither fame nor power nor wealth,
I fish and hunt for food;
But I have heaps of rugged health,
And life seems mighty good.
So when my class-mates come to spend
A week-end in my shack,
With lake and wood at journey's end
--They envy Jack.

From Generation to Generation
They destroyed themselves,
From jealousy.
And envy took many of them to their graves.
With self inflicting animosities,
They do to others as they wish.
With a hatred of themselves,
Heard on cussed exchanging lips.
Many of them are 'raising' children,
Like neglected pets...
Chained and leashed,
On trashed doorsteps.
Neglect is not understood,
Since many only comprehend handouts.
And living in sleaze like leeches,
Is a quality of life they only know and perceive.
They destroyed themselves,
From jealousy.
And envy took many of them to their graves.
From generation to generation...
Freedom for them is meant to enslave.

The Virtuous Man
Thus fears the man whom virtue, beacon-like,
Hath fix'd upon the hills of eminence;
At him the tempests of mad envy strike,
And rage against his piles of innocence;
But still, the more they wrong him, and the more
They seek to keep his worth from being known,
They daily make it greater than before,
And cause his fame the further to be blown.
When, therefore, no self-doting arrogance,
But virtues cover'd with a modest veil,
Break through obscurity, and thee advance
To place where envy shall thy worth assail,
Discourage not thyself, but stand the shocks
Of wrath and fury. Let them snarl and bite,
Pursue thee with detraction, slander, mocks,
And all the venom'd engines of despight.
Thou art above the malice; and the blaze
Of thy celestial fire shall shine so clear,
That their besotted souls thou shalt amaze,
And make thy splendours to their shame appear.
