The Light Kampong
duh gusti
here very near to you
but very far you've come
me lowly
just a speck of dust
how quiet
in your room too far
my wanderings will not be able to reach you
my tears could not achieve my longing
duh gusti, my beloved
if you teach me arithmetic
only 10 fingers of mine
but can not afford the billions of
i remember
remember of you were only a fingers
constellations of the pulse
why do always come up empty?
in cold-room space
duh gusti
within a short memory
eyes are blinded
throne which includes 20 billion years
billions of light
and the throne of the heart of nature
slave longing for home
to your kampong

I Am Only One Small Name In A Universe
I AM ONLY ONE SMALL NAME IN A UNIVERSE
I am only one small name in a universe,
Of billions of names-
I am only one small bodily being
Where there are billions of billions-
I am a beginning and an end,
As all living things-
A speck in vast spaces whose specks are uncountable-
No one or nothing need save me
No one or nothing need remember me
No one or nothing billions of years hence
Need smile because I was here.
I am so small I need never to have existed-
I am not even here now,
Whoever is writing this
Lost me a long time ago.

Billions and Billions
BILLIONS AND BILLIONS
Billions and billions
Of stars in the sky-
Billions and billions
Of people who die.
Billions and billions
We wonder why-
So much and so many
And all passing by.

My Beloved Father
It was a lovely experience,
To live with a man
for thirty years,
The years slipped away one by one,
Yet his face remains in my memory,
It relieves me when I am
in the desert of gloom,
when the world becomes poisonous for me,
With all its ugliness,
His beautiful smile takes away
every pain.
I still remember the
fingers,
Holding them I saw the world,
I still remember the lap,
Sitting there I learned to dream,
The dream of innocent adolesence,
The dream of magnificent youth,
He never raised an eyebrow on my demands,
But those of illegitimate nature.
But O my heart, O heart,
Where I shall meet him again,
Probably in the next world,
Of reward and punishment.
Often I visit his resting place,
With the deluge of tears
in my eyes,
My heart throbes,
my tongue sticks in my throat,
Being absolutely speechless,
I return home remembering,
His
unbounded love.
He was the embodiment of compassion and love,
He was my beloved father.

The Voice I Remember
I remember the voice. Quiet,
soft as a caress on the back of my neck,
coating my heart and mind
the way dust settles
when the air goes still.
A landslide of light
swallowing everything in its path,
leaving all undisturbed, cool
and dressed to face the sun.
I remember the way his voice carried my name
like a prince to the throne.
The voice was strength and calm in the same note
-the last note he ever sang.
I remember the voice. I hear that note
and I know the way home.

I Dont Remember
I got no means to show identification
I got no papers show you what I am
Youll have to take me just the way that you find me
Whats gone is gone and I do not give a damn
Empty stomach, empty head
I got empty heart and empty bed
I dont remember
I dont remember
I dont remember, I dont recall
I got no memory of anything at all
I dont remember, I dont recall
I got no memory of anything
-anything at all
Strange is your language and I have no decoder
Why dont you make your intentions clear
With eyes to the sun and your mouth to the soda
Saying, tell me the truth, you got nothing to fear
Stop staring at me like a bird of prey
Im all mixed up, I got nothing to say
I dont remember
I dont remember
I dont remember, I dont recall
I got no memory of anything at all
I dont remember, I dont recall
I got no memory of anything
Anything at all
I dont remember, I dont recall
I got no memory of anything at all
I dont remember, I dont recall
I got no memory of anything
Absolutely anything at all
I dont remember

I Remember...
I remember that day all to well
I remember how you fell
I remember that hospital room to this day
I remember what you would say
I remember the hope in your eyes
I remember the last time I saw you alive
I remember my unknowing last words to you-I love you
I remember the day you died
I remember the tears I cried
I remember you always and forever

A Flash of Life
I don't remember those days
That room has been re-painted
So many times since then
In so many different ways
She just vanished in the air
Like a wisp of smoke circling
Swirling, then gone forever
I never thought I would care
Her smile was all too fleeting
It became a speck of dust
Landing somewhere on the floor
The proof was my heart beating
Then I peeked into that room
There was no paint on those walls
A wisp became her in flesh
And she smiled at me, her groom
A snap and seventy years
I never saw her again
Anywhere or anytime
She left me with just my tears

To My Mother
Why
you went
and in this
bitter and cruel world
alone me left
was death so beautı ful and your beloved
did you miss it very much
fed up of us
you used to take us
under your skirt
and protect us from rainy days
from everything harmful
is you grave as cold as ice
why did you made it be dug so large
whom are yı ou expecting near as dear
was death so beautı ful mother
why you left us alone
ı t ı s evident
you longed for it
ı was angry
do noyt go do not leave us
pardon me mother
after so many years
ı came to your place
to embrace
may be youare lyiş ng in tears
and of longings
again another december
the day you left
did you remember
your hands were cracked
may be of cold
forgive me moı ther
ı could not afford to buy cream
to soothe them
you gone with your cracked hands
there is alittle ceddar on your grave
who sowed it ı do not know
some kinds of fruı t on it
ı took and smelled
they smelled you mother
ı took some with me to home
they are dried now
my wife does not know
ell me mother
after so many years
are your hands or
your heart are still cracked
tell me how can ı soothe them
or am ı so late to you
pardon me
forgive me
remember the only thing
the most longing of my heart
is still you
every night ı will go on talking with you
in my dream
in my sleep
or in my awake

Muwuno (Javanese)

Amarganing mego muwun, tetamaning sari mapaes
Amarganing muwunipun tetimur, pangudi wentah ngalir
Ing wancinipun tetimur mangertos, ngudakara
"Kawulo muwun amrih kinasih rumekso"
Lamun siro mangertoso bilih sang Kinasih jeng binothoro?
Mboten apeparing bilih sang timur tan amemuwun

Pakuning bawono, hanyengkuyung kekalihe
Bilih sirnoning mego muwun lan srengenge panas

Kadyo pundi musim agegantos rasukan?
Bilih suryaning tangis kapedhot lan lingsir

Let The Memorial Hill Remember
Let the memorial hill remember instead of me,
that's what it's here for. Let the par in-memory-of remember,
let the street that's-named-for remember,
let the well-known building remember,
let the synagogue that's named after God remember
let the rolling Torah scroll remember, let the prayer
for the memory of the dead remember. Let the flags remember
those multicolored shrouds of history: the bodies they wrapped
have long since turned to dust. Let the dust remember.
Let the dung remember at the gate. Let the afterbirth remember.
Let the beasts of the field and birds of the heavens eat and remember.
Let all of them remember so that I can rest.

Remember Me
Remember me
Maybe tonight, just for this moment
Well feel the same things, we did before
Just close your eyes, and let me show you
Youll be my reason, and Ill be yours
Remeber me
Well, Im the boy that stood in line for
Have you got just a little time for me tonight
Ill make you feel alright
Hey do you remember me
Remember when
The world was ours for just one evening
Felt so warm, its hard believing
That it would end
And here we are again
Hey do you remember me
Remember how
Music filled the empty spaces
And took us off to distant places
Wed never seen
Do you remember now
I still got my song and I can sing it
My guitar plays beneath my fingers
Warm, baby warm, baby warm
Say, do you remember me
Well, Im the boy you gave your heart to
Dont you think weve been apart too long this time
But youve been on my mind
Say, do you remember me
Remember how
Music filled the empty spaces
And took us off to distant places
Wed never seen
Do you remember now
I still got my song and I can sing it
My guitar plays beneath my fingers
Warm, baby warm, baby warm
Say, do you remember me
- remember me

Deep Clay (Stream V)
In mourning,
Your last morning
Bright and clear.
Clearly you wouldn't see it
For you were now blind.
I blinded by tears,
Me on this earth
You laid in earth.
Deep in your wooden home
Far from home,
In clay deep and cold.
I now lie cold
Alone on my side
Your side empty
I avoid the void
Avoid your space.
My space,
An empty space.
Empty heart
Broken heart,
No glue can mend.

Missing You
It's been a while since I saw your smile,
Never seen your face but I felt your grace,
From a distance your gaze,
Your eyes, they warm my heart,
What a great place to start!
In my heart, always,
Always a place for you,
A quiet space,
What a beautiful place!
Lost in time, no rhythm nor rhyme,
Until at last,
We find the peace we deserve,
To live, breathe and to serve,
So when you think of me,
Remember to feel free,
Live life through freedoms door,
Know that I will love you evermore,
I will see you in a quiet room,
A dark corner where you light the gloom,
In a moment of silence, a quiet breath,
Moves us one step further from death,
Sometimes I feel there can be no end,
As long as our hearts mend,
A soul that is your friend,
Then the light of love will know no end.

Time and light and human memory
Time is revealed. Sand used to keep it in a glass vial.
Now time escapes and flies and seeks
The help of light
Takes it to space and travels so fast
To cope up with its longing
She is somewhere out there with the comets and stars
It is overtaking memory
Failing, falling short
Human forgetfulness
But there is such a fast catalyst sensing like
A magical nose
Love, passion, longing, belonging, seeking, wanting to be complete
To be perfect
Memory smells the sweat of her love
And sticks to
Faith: this is her, this is her, and there is nobody else
I cannot be mistaken there can no one else this is her
And time bends
And time stands still
As human memory begs for another meeting for another understanding
Though so short, brief,
It will be a memory of some light years
Smelling sensually sipping the sweat of someone
Somewhere now. Here. Here is forever.
Time travels so slowly with the person you love,
Light infuses, diffuses and intensifies
Pain forces forgetting, letting go what used to be important
Now everything yields, everything must go as destined.

I can't remember
I can’t remember the day
I can’t remember the night
I just see in your eyes
I just remember the feeling
What you feel you can’t forget
I can’t remember the light
I can’t remember the dark
I can’t remember the heart
I just live the today
Because it can’t be erased
Don’t let me here alone
Help me to remember what I forgot
I’m waiting for someone
Because alone, I cannot
If the rain come here
Help me to remember the tears
If the sun doesn’t shine
Don’t help me to remember the fears
If in the night there are stars
Remember me about the hope
If the sunset would be long
Help me to my eyes I get close
Because I would remember our love.

A Dying Brain
Do you recall how I was once your fire –?
And we, a regal cloud of unity
Meandering through the closing blues of night,
Commanding stars to glitter;
Dawn to blush?
Your answer comes in ever-blanking stares:
A wall that blocks the know,
Damping down the glow that used to emanate
From clear and lucid eyes.
They've lost the will to recognise.
But hear! We are fifty years together –
And once we writhed in pleasure –
Drowning in emotion,
That which was our prime.
You don't recall.
You only lie as vegetation
Scattered on the ground:
A living mound of flesh,
Devoid of any neural mesh
To let you say 'I'm sound.'
Don't worry Dear,
For I'm aware with memory!
I'll tell you how we were.
We have our right of history!
If you could just concur.

The Quiet Room
(Alice Cooper / Bernie Taupin / Dick Wagner)
The California air
Your nightgown on the stairs
I remember every night
Scenes from home in the Quiet Room
How long have I been gone
Did winter kill the lawn
And all those polaroids you sent
Are on the wall in the Quiet Room
They've got this place
Where they've been keeping me
Where I can't hurt myself
I can't get my wrists to bleed
Just don't know why
Suicide appeals to me
The Quiet Room
Is sterilized and white
It's like a tomb
With just a moth stained naked night
Plastic forks and spoon
No laces in my shoes
They allknow what I tried to do
Outside the Quiet Room
This quiet place
It ain't so new to me
It's haunted atmosphere
Has heard so many scream
My home from home
My twilight zone
My strangest dream
My confidant
I have confessed my life
The Quiet Room
Knows more about me than my wife
They've got this place
Where they've been keeping me
Where I can't hurt myself
I just can't
I just can't get these damn wrists to bleed
A mattress on the floor
No handles on the door
I really need nothing here
I'm alone
