Without you

I write words in vain,
words of which the meaning
you do not comprehend

and how to press love
into a few words
I do not really know

and you are away
and we stay a hundred miles from each other
and it feels as if

it is in different worlds,
as if every thing with time looses meaning
and I play the songs that you sing over and over

as if I can hear something in your voice,
read your poems time and time again,
as if it can bring something of you back to me

while destiny flattens me
and you run
like water through my fingers

and without you
my life is without meaning
and it continues aimlessly

and I do not know
why things at times do not work out,
why I am fighting life’s struggle in vain

and I cannot get you
out of my heart,
and cannot fight against you being part of me

and my blood is pouring, as my heart is broken
and my life falls to pieces without you
and I hope that your plans are only prosperous.

Faculty

Sometimes it seems so hard to work out the words,
and then again it seems not hard at all. Just write,
is as simple as that. There are times i can't seem to
work the words, other times the words come up
bubbling in my head with character and meaning.
At times i feel challenged by other writers, and i
begging to doubt my ability to work the words,
i simple read another writer and then i know i have
nothing to be worry about. I understand then that my
contest is with myself and not with other writers.
We all think about the same things, because once
in our life’s we all go through the same situations.
We all have the brain to create anything in our heads.
There’s nothing that i can't do if i focus and if i
don't focus; “you see” this word- focus is meaningful
in some ways, we need the focus, but in poetry we
need more the fantasy in our thoughts, the meaning
to our words, focusing can be important, but if your
head is not in the mood, there’s not going to be any
words bubbling up, even though you don’t need it so
much, because you can create a poem out of anything.
There’s one thing about writing, and reading poetry,
understanding the meaning behind the words.
Every word or phrase has a meaning behind, this is
where readers need to understand; for example-if i'm
drinking away my sorrows, it can mean, crying my
heart out, it can mean, i need to forget, it can mean,
a big hangover, it can mean, sleeping out in the porch,
it can mean, forgetting all you did last night; how many
things out of a phrase. Right know I would just like
to be in my cabin and sit right in front of the fire-place
with a bottle of wine and enjoy my pastoral life while
i write, amazing things.

Words Sometimes Take On A Own Meaning

Words sometimes take on a own meaning
and sometimes they are sharp and painful
as if there is much more to words

as if a kind of secret knowledge hides in them
that are sometimes something moving.
Words sometimes take on a own meaning

but somehow words can at times miss things
and are sometimes dependent on feelings
as if there is much more to words

when through it all love brings a kind of bonding
and so you and I are attractive to each other.
Words sometimes take on a own meaning

and daily a bond develops between us,
while you become more considerable to me,
as if there is much more to words

you constantly live in my thoughts,
while love becomes real through words.
Words sometimes take on a own meaning
as if there is much more to words…

When love feels brittle

I

At times love feels so brittle
as if a rush of wind
can break the beautiful thing
that binds us to each other
as if the night is rushing on
and the last light of love is fading
slowly away and dying a vacant death.

At times the way life goes
smashes us apart with unplanned,
unexpected and unmeant hurt,
but it only shows how precious
life really is and how short it can be
and that we must make the most
of every moment that we get.

II

If feelings are so true,
as between you and me
time has no real impact
and words unsaid
and deeds not done
do not really matter.

Behind your golden eyes
deeper meaning lurks
and the knowledge
that we are meant
to help each other,
to understand even when
meaning disappears
and to love and to stay true.

III

l’Envoi

At times I see tears in your eyes,
hear the pain in your sighs,
see you roll and twist all night
and I wish to command the power
to make things undone
and to turn time around
but just being near,
to comprehend your pain and fear,
to hear the tremble in your voice,
to hold you against my chest,
to cry, plan and laugh together
is far greater than the rest
and I am truly blessed
that destiny has brought you to me.

The Poems I Write Give Meaning To My Life

The poems I write give meaning to my life.
But what are they for others?
Are they Poetry or just the sentences I happen to think?
The Poems I write give meaning to my life
But only in the time I am writing them
What they are afterward
Does not truly depend on me?
Meaning it seems is momentary for me
And the higher meaning of what will endure
Is a question I by myself however I write
Cannot answer.

I Don't Believe 'You' Wrote This!

I am told I have a way with words.
I am encouraged when I hear that said.
I remember listening to my father talk.
And when he would sing...
He would bring a different meaning,
To each word I heard.
And what his singing to them he would bring.

My mother would play the piano.
Thunderous and loud!
And when I walked through the projects...
I would sing to the trees,
I once walked into one...
Humming to the clouds.

I would make up melodies and tunes with words.
Mocking my dad and my mother's love,
For gospel verse she would rehearse.

I didn't think anything really about words I wrote.
Until my sister read a poem of mine.
And I wanted to choke her by the throat!
YES!
She was the first to read something I wrote out loud.
I was embarrassed by that.
Her nosy grown up butt...
Reading my 'stuff' behind my back!

And then she said to me,
'I don't believe 'you' wrote this! '
I must have been 13 years old...
When I started to make my writing public.

I am told I have a way with words.
I am encouraged when I hear that said.
I remember listening to my father talk.
And when he would sing...
He would bring a different meaning,
To each word I heard.
And what his singing to them he would bring.

Each 'thing' I write now...
Is added to a mixed bag offering!
And reflecting how I'm feeling at the time.
I am grateful for this blessing.
It offers a comfort and a peace of mind!
And when someone says they enjoy what I do...
I must be honest with 'you', the reader!
I-do-too!

8-3-1

The way I want you babe
Its embarrassing
I cant control myself
Its just too much for me
I cant concentrate
I dont know what to say
Except your name baby
The sweetest name
And when we kiss that kiss
Thats when it hits
With my heart and soul I say this
8 letters, 3 words, one meaning
In my heart
8 letters, 3 words, one feeling
When it starts
When you say my name
I begin to shake
I break out in a sweat
This is the best it gets
Theres nothing second rate
About this feeling babe
Its forever come what may
Its what I hope and pray yeah
And when we kiss that kiss
Thats when it hits
With my heart and soul I say this baby
8 letters, 3 words, one meaning
In my heart
8 letters, 3 words, one feeling
When it starts
8 letters, 3 words, one meaning
In my heart
8 letters, 3 words, one feeling
When it starts
Its understanding and its understood
And baby it sure feels good
8 letters, 3 words, one meaning
In my heart
8 letters, 3 words, one feeling
When it starts
And when we kiss that kiss
Thats when it hits
With my heart and soul I say this baby
8 letters, 3 words, one meaning
In my heart
8 letters, 3 words, one feeling
When it starts

Just A Random Poem

These words have no meaning to it
Yet we're typing it anyways
It's not about love, happiness, or sorrow
Yet it's about all those things
Love is not a game, but people still play
Happiness is all we want, but only few of us have it
Sorrow is in all of our hearts, but there is always someone out there to help us out
Like life these words have no meaning to it, yet it still does
Everyone is random in there own way, but thats okay
We see other peoples randomness, but we fail to see ours
But like everything, these words have no meaning,
Because this is Just A Random Poem

His heart is broken

His heart is broken,
broken like pieces of glass
which nobody
can fit together again
and he has lost his own worthiness,
the meaning behind his existence
a long time ago

and the days fly past
as if time has escaped somewhere
along the road
and nothing still has meaning

and even bright days
turn grey to him,
with a greyness
which disconcerts and makes every thing dull
and there are spider webs and a lot of dust
where he keeps his compact discs
which he doesn’t play anymore

and still loyally he prays,
tries to keep his integrity intact
but has lost trust
in a God, who sees everything and who understands
and it feels as if that God
does not exist for him
and as if he is fighting alone against destiny,
stands alone on this earth
without anybody caring
or wanting to know something about him
and the past lies just too deep,
too deep inside him
so that he cannot forget it
and never gets to a new future.

That Moment Of Time Gives The Meaning

Time passing by like a river in spring time,
Time always runs and never looks back,
We hold onto time and we use it,
But time is never ours, even when we wanted it to be so much.

With every second passing by,
Now we desperately hold the moment, soon it will be gone,
We shouldn't waste those precious moments,
Once it's lost, we'll never get it back.

There is time for hope,
To love, to remember, to enjoy, to forgive,
There is time, we shouldn't lose,
There is time for everything.

Do not let time be wasted in vain,
Without time, there is no meaning,
Use that time to make a mark in your life,
That moment of time gives the meaning.

The Irony of Love

Irony is a literary or rhetorical device.
The essayist Henry Watson Fowler wrote:
“any definition of irony
—though hundreds might be given,
and very few of them would be accepted—
must include this,
that the surface meaning
and the underlying meaning of
what is said are not the same.'
He left out that any definition of
Irony must include that it is cruel.

I never understood
The meaning of irony
Or how cruel it can be,
Until you told me,
That though you may love me,
You find it difficult to
Hear the words
“I love you” from me.

You see, some three years ago
You jokingly said
'I love you' to me,
And I begged you
Never to utter those words again.
Not because I did not want to hear them,
But because they were difficult for me.
They carried heart-felt consequences
That I did not want to face.
So, I shut out my heart and followed my head.
And in life filled with so many regrets,
It was the biggest mistake I ever made.

The irony,
After some thousand days have past,
You uttered the same
Imprudent sentiment to me.
This sentiment is the definition of irony –
The surface meaning
And underlying meaning are not the same.
Because although I asked you not to say
“I love you”,
It is all I wanted to hear.

The cruelty,
That now that heaven has at last
Blessed, cursed me with
Clarity of the heart,
And I want to say what I mean
With no different underlying sentiment,
You tell me you do not
Want to hear these words from me.

But the most ironic and cruelest part,
Will be,
If you make the same mistake I made
And keep from me what is within your heart.

Deadline

I see that I am living a dead life
and the daily life
leaves no impression on me,
and before I know I am turned into a stick,
already fossilized
and life passes me
while I do not get involved with anything.

Too many times
I had daily contact with death
and now I die from life
and every day do the same things,
the same work,
and are caught immovable like an idiot.

The same things
I write over and over
of Johnnie loosing Sally,
of love that charms,
or war that still resounds in me
and on our hands
the blood, the damned blood
and I feel at times as if the Lord doesn’t hear.

I try to live right,
to respect others,
to honour the Lord
and my poems stay the same
words of somebody surviving
and I still am able to adore
and what the church prohibits feels so right and true
while life hits me back
past the beginning.

I still feel, weep and laugh
and sometimes sing in the shower
as if nothing
is wrong with life
and I keep dreaming,
set myself to win
and to stay alive
while the deadline
slowly comes nearer to me
where my heart will beat its last stroke
before it will stop eternally.

So that meaning gets an own reality

When words are superfluous,
loose their ability
to express love to you

I leave the translation
to my lips, mouth
and fingers

and when your artery
beats mysteriously against your neck
and I see dreams in your eyes

I suddenly know the meaning
of all the love cards in Cardies
how deep eye contact can bind,
that a person can find somebody special

at a place where you do not expect it,
how people can yearn for each other
when at strange places
they set eyes on each other
for the first time

and if life could be just as simple
words would be able to do miracles
could be equal to a kiss
would not disguise feelings or emotions
and would say the right things without fear.

When words steal meaning,
quenching that which is between us,
I say nothing while you are getting aroused
even less, when we are making love

so that meaning gets an own reality.

A Hundred Times Over

A hundred times over words have flowed through my fingers to the keys
A hundred times over I have released the freedom that is in my mind,
A hundred times over I have become one with my inter most longing,
A hundred times over I have taken a journey to show you my own world.
A hundred times over I have written of pain and life, of sorrow and joy,
A hundred times over I have used my art to show you what's in my mind
A hundred times over again I will show you.
A hundred times over I have cried for those, whose names are untold,
A hundred times over I have showed you their pain.
A hundred times over I have become their connection to you,
A hundred times over I have showed you the beauty of our world,
A hundred times over I have taken you somewhere you may never see,
A hundred times over my words have screamed the horror of darkness,
A hundred times over I have sung to you the beauty of light,
A hundred times over I have taken your hand to lead you to a new place
A hundred time over I have written for those who have no words to write
A hundred times over I have tried to show truth in a world of lies,
A hundred times over I have have tried to show the world's beauty,
A hundred times over again I will lead down these paths,
A hundred times over and over again I will show you reality,
A hundred times over and over again I shall show you my world,
A hundred times over and over again until you have memorised truth,
A hundred times over again until you can repeat what I have told,
A hundred times over again shall I create an art of words, time, of life.
A hundred times over again I shall do this,
A hundred times over again.
A hundred times over.

At 4: 19 In The Morning

the mosquitoes are already full
and bound to rest and reproduce their hundred eggs

i wake up. there is something to say.
there are lots of things to do.
i am having a hard time to decide
what 's first, what's next,

then i write this one. this one is different.
it is about a question. it does not demand
an answer though. it is about 'why i am always doing this? '

why i am hooked
to sit down and write again
those that do not really point to a direction

this scatters me like dust
as i try to gather dust again

the fingers run again. some words keep coming.
i wonder. Do these words have meaning at all?

keep going, the words say, keep going.
we will tell you as soon as we arrive there.

it may be about nothing at all. just keep going.
carry us. we will tell you later.that is the catch.
keep going. just keep going. who knows

there may be something out there.

Hidden Meaning

To death do us part
Does that mean death of the heart
Or growing old in age
That might be like being trapped for all your days

There are too many ways to look at this-but not enough time to comprehend
What this means, and where its meaning ends
Im not sure how to say it
But I’m sure you’ll understand-that it means love and life will exist to the end

Not necessarily together-no not at all
Love grows old and fades away
But some things are here to stay
Love them for all your time, and don’t forget what love was mine

To death do us part; the irony so discreet
And some of us, that irony will meet
When it happens then you’ll know
Why love and death are not one

So death do us part,
What do you say
Is your meaning for now and today
Or will it be for along the way

Until then, I will try
And even see what I can find
Death do us part, I’ll figure you out
And when I do, I’ll find that route
The path between death and love
And see if it intertwines

If it doesn’t then I’ll know
That life and love were meant to grow
To flourish in the great divine
Of course...that love wont be mine

Warp My Words Around You

Is it fair to write a song to a woman
Is it fair to play to try to win her heart
Is it right to bring her sonnets in the morning-time
To express the first few longings when they start
To express the first few longings when they start
Is it right to let her feelings rise to catch you
Is it ok when her heart begins to fall
Would you blame me if I wrap my words around you girl
Would I wrong you to say anything at all
Would I wrong you to say anything at all
But if I wrap my words around you
Wrap my words around you
If I wrap my words around you
Would you stay, would you stay, would you
Wrap my words around you
Wrap my words around you
If I wrap my words around you
Would you stay, would it play with your heart
Am I a hunter if I send poems to please you
Am I a cad if I mean everything I say
Should I even let you know this songs about you girl
Just because I want to see you smile today
And my words may bind you to me much too tightly
And you may choke upon them if we fall apart
Its not fair to write a song to a woman, no
Because a woman takes a song into her heart
Because a woman takes a song into her heart
So let me wrap my words around you
Wrap my words around you
Wrap my words around you
Till you stay, till you stay, let me
Wrap my words around you
Wrap my words around you
Darling, wrap my words around you
Till you stay, would it play with your heart

Writing Frustrations I've Known

-It would seem, I've run out of words.
Nothing left to say.
I have lost my inner voice.
It's gone, completely astray.
Perhaps I should lay down pen and pad.
Never more write a rhyme.
On this poetry that I love
I shall spend no further time.
... not that I was ever truly a poet anyway
... it's just that, well, I did love it so;
... still, it feels the well is dry
... time to just let it go.

- So now, what of me shall be
Feeling empty in heart and head?
What purpose-without a word-shall be heard
With no way to express both hope and dread?
Where have the words gone
Must they ever stay away?
Who has taken my spirit's song
Why has the music of my soul nothing more to say?
... I try... seems of no use...
My mind torn asunder, literary abuse.

(this next part wrote a couple months later)

Listen, what do I hear?
Something is knocking at my gate!
A few months later now
But, not altogether too late.

A lonesome thought comes strolling in
From whence I cannot declare,
Just that it has arrived
With this simple message to share:

' What's a dime
To a lover of verse and rhyme,
And what's to fear
Of criticism drawing near?

For to write only for income
Would soon turn quite burdensome,
As surely as to not write for fear of ridicule
Would be to deny the voice within you.

The words may never turn a single head
But, don't dare believe they'll ever be dead!
God gives meaning to what he wants
Whether anyone else listens or not.

The way it is all spoke
By darling bards, or simple country folk,
Is well worth hearing
And so oft more than a bit endearing.

Don't worry about the rhyme
The perfect place or time,
Just give your soul in words as best you can
And those who should, will understand.

Those who don't
Just won't,
And that's o.k.
God speaks to them in other ways.

Trust his Spirit in all you do
Yes, this includes writing too,
Remember he promised he'd never leave you alone
Even in the simple words of your poems. '

-Pondering it over
I suppose this I've known all along,
Though thoughts may wander
True words are never gone.

Well, ya know what:
I believe I just might pick up paper and pen,
Good or bad, right or wrong...
Give it a go, once again!

Yours

You brighten up the moon and stars at night
You keep me seeing rainbows in the sky
You bring new meaning to my life, now
I believe in miracles baby I'm forever yours, yours
Tender love's what you're giving me and
You surpass all my fantasies and
I keep thanking the Lord above for
Blessing me with oh so much
Cause I know how it feels to be
part of you boy
Everyday of my life's so abundant
With joy
And I honestly never thought love
could be real
until the angels guided you to me
You brighten up the moon and stars at night
You keep me seeing rainbows in the sky
You bring new meaning to my life, now
I believe in miracles baby I'm forever yours, yours
Lying with you so natural
I never knew this was possible
And it finally feels like my life has begun
now that I can share it with someone
You brighten up the moon and stars at night
You keep me seeing rainbows in the sky
You bring new meaning to my life, now
I believe in miracles baby I'm forever yours, yours
You brighten up the moon and stars at night
You keep me seeing rainbows in the sky
You bring new meaning to my life, now
I believe in miracles baby I'm forever yours, yours
Baby our love will always persevere
Anything you ever need,
You know I'll be right here and
You don't have to worry boy
I won't betray your trust
Because I'm so much in love
Every time your lips meet mine
It still feels like the first time
And if you lost everything
I'd keep on standing by your side
And boy it seems like everyday
I fall deeper in love
Because I can't get enough
You brighten up the moon and stars at night
You keep me seeing rainbows in the sky
You bring new meaning to my life, now
I believe in miracles baby I'm forever yours, yours
You brighten up the moon and stars at night
You keep me seeing rainbows in the sky
You bring new meaning to my life, now
I believe in miracles baby I'm forever yours, yours
Yours
Yours
Yours
Yours
Everything that you do's so amazing
Everything that you do's so amazing
Everything that you do's so amazing
Everything that you do's so amazing to me
Boy
You brighten up the moon and stars at night
You keep me seeing rainbows in the sky
You bring new meaning to my life, now
I believe in miracles baby I'm forever yours, yours

Without You

Feel so alone and sad
As if the meaning of being alive, exists no more
Nothing I have and nobody is here for me
Often, I feel so lost
Do not know where I belong, since without you life has no meaning
It is better to die than to live a lost life
I know you do not hear me anymore because you simply do not care
Knowing, I will have to be without you for the rest of my life
Feels really terrible and no words can explain this sadness of mine
An empty life I have
In which I am just a lost soul, with no meaning left to live
It is better to die, although even death does not come that easily
Just feel very sad, without you my love.

Since I Lost You

It seems in a moment, your whole world can shatter
Like morning dreams they just disappear
Like dust in your hand falling to the floor
How can life ever be the same
Cos my heart is broken in pieces
Yes my heart is broken in pieces
Since youve been gone
Its all too easy to take so much for granted
Oh but its so hard to find the words to say
Like a castle in the sand the water takes away
But how can life ever be the same
Cos my heart is broken in pieces
Yes my heart is broken in pieces
Since Ive lost you
Oh now youll never see
Oh youll never know
All the things I planned for you
Things for you and me
Held your hand so tightly
That I couldnt let it go
Now how can life ever be the same
Cos my heart is broken in pieces
Yes my heart is broken in pieces
Since youve been gone
Cos my heart is broken in pieces
Yes my heart is broken in pieces
Since Ive lost you
Cos my heart is broken in pieces
Yes my heart is broken in pieces
Since youve been gone
