Cancer closes caskets
after it closes lives,
as if this cruel demon
bore a ''Fifth Stage'',
upon the grief and loss
for those left behind
to woe in Cancers life.

We have been to the Moon,
kodacked moments on Mars,
and, tho' medical science
has made notable progress,
still Cancer strikes hard,
caskets will remain closed
til we celebrate its Death.

Sonnet: Cancer Today

The fight against disease called cancer is
On-going for so many years but still,
Not much relief is wrought from its death-kiss:
The diagnosis made when one is ill!

Research is done with big money inputs;
New drugs are patented without headway;
The developments come out with ‘ifs’ and ‘buts’!
Most cancers strike in relentless a way.

No cancer can be cured if found quite late;
Prevention is the only way to deal;
Despite progress in science, unchanged is fate
Of cancer-stricken men – what scientists feel!

Doing unwanted things, man/ woman lives;
‘Keep body pure’ – advice God’s Nature gives!

the big C

those who fear it cannot call it
by its own name

big C for cancer,
but cancer is cancer
no more no less
depends on what stage
then you are taken
as the next
victim by an old
expert culprit
so unforgiving
mercilessly taking the lives
of those
destined to die

cancer is cancer
no more no less

a friend of mine dies
today of cancer of the
liver.

period. I say another prayer.

for JOJI on terminal cancer (revised)

i have no courage to see her.
But i imagine that she is bald,
and in pain, and always taking
those pain relievers.
I imagine that.
Who knows, i may be wrong.
Not all cancers are painful. Perhaps.
But most cancers are painful.
That bone, that marrow,
the pain that lingers even in the
middle in the night when everyone
would be soundly sleeping with
their loved ones.
I have seen those with brain cancers
how they hit their heads on
the cemented walls
to ease the pain
those bloated stomachs
afflicted with liver cancer.

Cancer is pain. And Joji must
be suffering it by now.
She must be bald
for her locks of hair
must have fallen to the pillow
part of that
chemotherapy side effects.

But i think i know Joji.
She is a strong woman
with a sense of humor
with laughter always on
her face
she has the will to be herself
despite the sickness
till death, perhaps,
i know that she will not change
i know that she will not
let the cancer defeat her
innate goodness
her confidence to herself
her faith in God
i know that she will always
be smiling
not minding the pain
and the uncertainties.
I know that she is not
afraid.

Upon saying all these
to comfort her
in her Face-book Account,
it is me
who fears most,
for after all,
i may not be able to live
what i am
saying to her.

God! Oh God!
Have mercy upon us all!

What Cancer Can't Do

Cancer is a real menace friend, which brings on an ominous end,
A time when suffering can be rife, with an early exit from this life,
This as life takes a major change, as many things stay the same,
Bringing much anguish to a family, in ways, they have yet to see.

Though cancer affects me and you, its menace has its limits too,
Limits on the devastating effect, upon those lives it has wrecked;
Regarding the victims, I speak of; cancer cannot cripple the love,
One's love, that remains intact, despite cancer's relentless attack.

Cancer cannot shatter our hope, as through it God helps us cope,
With The Lord's sustaining grace, cancer cannot corrode our faith;
Though its ailing effects increase, cancer can't destroy our peace,
A peace, that God instills in us, through the Spirit of Christ Jesus.

Though death may be cancer's will, friendships cancer cannot kill,
Also, it cannot suppress memories, of loving friends and families,
As the ill effects continue to rage, cancer cannot silence courage,
For we know that this entire life, is truly sustained by Jesus Christ.

By this courage we don't fear it, as cancer can't conquer our spirit,
Though in a body it will take its toll, cancer cannot invade our soul,
Or lessen God's Resurrection Power, even during the darkest hour,
As a member of the Body of Christ, cancer can't steal Eternal Life.

Cancer For The Cure

The kids are diggin up a brand new hole
Where they put their deadbeat mom
Grandpas happy watching video porn
With the closed caption on
And father knows best
About suicide and smack
Well, hee hee hee
Cancer for the cure
Cancer for the cure
Buckle up and endure now baby
Cancer for the cure
ol blue eyes is back again
But he was never here in the first place
A heart attack may be something to fear
But take a look out back
cause courtney needs love
And so do i
Well, hee hee hee
Cancer for the cure
Cancer for the cure
Buckle upand endure now sweet thing
The cancer for the cure

A Tribute to Terry Fox (in iambic dimeter)

While just a teen,
And Cancer struck,
They took a leg
To save his life!
He liked to run
And loved to win;
But Cancer came
To play a game!
Now Earth was hell!
Yet, Fox would run
A marathon
For Cancer’s sake!
His aim was high-
To raise a fund
For Cancer’s fight,
Despite his plight!
But half-way through,
His Cancer spread
To both his lungs,
Despite the drugs!
He covered miles,
Before Life’s end;
Undaunted till
The last, he stayed!
Posthumously,
He turned so great;
His one-legged walk
For Cancer’s sake
Earned him a name
Indelible!
He is ‘alive’!
His run goes on
All o’er the world
In Cancer’s name!
The world had lost
A lad so young
Courageous
Exemplary!

There Is Something In Us Always

there is something in us always
that closes and opens like fingers
there is something inside that watches
for love, and waits, and anticipates,
something that feels home, and
goggles for familiarity, and when it
finds it, it opens so confidently,
unmindful of any pain, expectant
of the excitement, promised and
betrayed, and mourning, and then
there is something in us that closes,
no matter what, it is still closed,
despite the death of time, it still
closes upon itself, curling, thickening
unwilling, wanting to die, but couldn't.

Pink (cancer)

send out this poem to all that you know
Stop the cancer before it grows.

PINK

She was dressed all in pink to show her support
Of how she was one of the cancer victims
And how she had fought.

The cancer now in remission and she
Was leading a normal life
But no one knew of her struggles and strife.

It's hard to imagine when you're given that kind of news
We can treat the cancer, but a breast you will lose.
You feel violated and raped by that word
This was something that other people heard. (not me)

Breast cancer has no preference to whether
your yellow, Black or white - male or female
We all have to fight.

You hear about it every day- and it affects
us all in a different way.
You may think that it's just muscle and tissue taken away
But ask a victim and see what they say.

A MAMMOGRAM AND ULTRA SOUND IS THE KEY
TO HELP YOU LIVE CANCER FREE.

Cancer

Everything
Everything gives you cancer
Everything
Everything gives you cancer
Theres no cure, theres no answer
Everything gives you cancer
Dont touch that dial
Dont try to smile
Just take this pill
Its in your file
Dont work hard
Dont play hard
Dont plan for the graveyard
Remember -
Everything
Everything gives you cancer
Everything
Everything gives you cancer
Theres no cure, theres no answer
Everything gives you cancer
Dont work by night
Dont play by day
Youll feel all right
But you will pay
No caffeine
No protein
No booze or
Nicotine
Remember -

Cancer

We don't know
How strong we are
Til being strong
Is the only choice
We have.

Why is it
That we have to be
Strong for others
When we have to be
Strong for ourselves?

Someone once said
'Wining isn't everything'
Well, he obviously
Never had
Cancer.

To lose your fight
Against cancer
Is to give in
To cancer
And die.

Though many are scared
Of this dreaded cell
Cancer is only a word
Not a whole
Sentence.

Just remember
You are not
Dying from cancer
You are living
With it.

Loneliness Is Like Cancer

loneliness is like cancer
you do not know the cause
it is there inside you
and you cannot see its face
and you cannot pinpoint
the cause
you cannot find the root
and its branches
but you can see its fruit

the ugliness of death
the poison that kills every nice part of you

but at the end
when everything is over
the cancer that causes you pain
can be that liberating

death is freedom
from pain and loneliness
and cancer is death
for all these
sufferings.

Cancellation

The innocence is like cancer,
A cancellation of heaven
Wherever the world.
Cancer is a camera, a post
To be held in the hand.
The cameraman is gifted,
My warming of the shape is plenty.
Boiling and melting,
Snapping and curling,
My cancer spreads
And conceals itself
Until medicine looks at it,
The doctor connects.
Innocence is a way of cancer.

{{{ Cancer In My Heart }}}

Your trusted love has been there from the very start,
God has now taken you, which causes us to be apart,
now I am left with Cancer,
that shall always dwell within my heart.

Momma I truly miss you,
the one and only person that was ever so true,
now I am lost and don't know what to do.

My Mom's Zodiac Sign was Moon-Child
the sign known as the Crab,
her birthday was July 9th.....which makes her a Cancer.

Diagnosis

go to the doctor to see whats wrong
little did i know that i'd be saying so long
to body parts i thought that i might like to maintain
whats my loss turned into cancers great gain

the doc say's your prostate is a real wreck
it's riddled with cancer and oh what the heck
you could have it radiated or totally removed
better decide now before you lose your groove

so i cried a little bit then i said quite clear
cut the bastard out of me before it queers
so the doc sat back and said away we go
and scheduled me for surgery before it snows

but the horror of it all is that i will be cut
and filled with drainage tubes till i heal up
with a catheter draining into a attached bag
i'll be peeing all day wearing diapers gone bad

oh well i guess it could have a whole lot worse
i could have had it spread to every where like a curse
and doomed to die of a malignancy well played
i guess that if it's cancer better than dorian gray

Speak

Whenever I feel like it's all in my mind
I can feel it
I'm talking to myself again
Whenever I hear you its so hard to find
I can feel it
I'm talking to myself again
Whenever I feel like (I can feel)
It's all (I can feel) in my mind
Whenever I hear you (I can feel)
Its so hard to find (I can feel)

Wrap your wrists when you wanna through
And ya
Wrap your wrists when you wanna through
And ya
Pop in a clip when you wanna drop
But man make sure that the caskets' closed

So whatcha gonna say x3
Speak to me

Whenever oh I feel inside
Sometimes (I can feel)
I can feel

Wrap your wrists when you wanna through
And ya
Wrap your wrists when you wanna through
And ya
Pop in a clip when you wanna drop
But man make sure that the caskets' closed

Wrap your wrists when you wanna through
And ya
Wrap your wrists when you wanna through
And ya
Pop in a clip when you wanna drop
But man make sure that the caskets' closed

So whatcha gonna say (3x)
Speak to me
So whatcha gonna say (2x)
Speak to me

Life and Cancer

Life and Cancer
Do you have an answer?
Strange how life passes you faster
With the presence of unwanted cancer

A mild tumour, a brain tumour, a breast tumour
None of that bestows on to life any best humour
With this forbidden disease called cancer
Tissues divide and grow like crazy dancers

Doctors abruptly said he had five months to live
Like a wild fire, cancer has spread barbarically actively
O! Life, why have you trapped him as a depressed captive
His psychological state of mind bears sadness pensively

He marvels with words flowing
Was it not better not knowing
Than knowing when one is going
Without knowing where one is going

Life and Cancer
Do you have an answer?
He spends each irretrievable day, one day at a time
O! Life, Cancer has done him an unbelievable crime

The pain is immoderately insane
Worse than lighting, thunder and rain
And his hope stands very often in vain
Waiting for a cure, composite or plain

The simple facts in life which are true
Is he pictures life with much more value
Someone, someone out there will survive
And the victory for cancer will be deprived

My Cancer

A little more has died
A life so disguised
A million masks
One for each day
So happy
I got all the answers
One of them is my cancer

A world full of blood
All for what we call love
So we can fake it
So we can take it
It's all ours

A little more has died
But at least I can say I tried
A million tasks
One for each day
So busy
No time for answers
I already got one, Its called cancer

A world for the innocent
A road to the oblivion
A mouth full of razor blades
So cut up
Mangled by the verbal
Some words are best left unsaid
Better for the undead

A little more has died
A child wonder why
A million people have asked
One for each day
So much agony
Looking for all the right answers
But I got is this cancer

Another tragedy
An accident that can't be undone
A noose hanging off the wall
A phone rings
But nobody's there to answer the call

A little more has died
Another lost soul has been denied
A million that will never last
One for each day
So angry
No more answers
All I got left is my cancer
