A Daft Crackpot
Parky the penguin felt so low,
He didn’t really like the snow,
Or the blustery winds that blow
Across his icy world.
Parky the penguin thought that he
Would find a boat and go to sea,
He needed to be wild and free,
Gone from his icy world.
Parky the penguin sailed away,
Spotted a sunny sandy bay,
Where he could laze around all day.
Unlike his icy world.
Parky the penguin got so hot,
And could not find one shady spot,
He knew he was a daft crackpot,
Leaving his icy world.
Parky the penguin hitched a ride,
On a tiny raft, narrow not wide,
And reaching home, had verified,
He’d missed his icy world.
Parky the penguin hugged his Mum,
Then skidded off upon his tum,
His escapade was not humdrum,
Nor was his icy world.

The Penguin
I've seen the beautiful penguin
And what a sight it is!
It's very cute, you're bound to grin -
It's next to perfect bliss!
The way it waddles side-to-side,
Its webbed feet on the go
And at full throttle, open wide,
It still moves kinda slow...
It reminds me of a beaver,
The water is its home,
Yet it likes to take a breather,
As onward it would roam...
It's virgin white on waiter black,
A costume ready-made...
The water's surface starts to crack -
It dives in unafraid!
I'd like to stroke a penguin's front
To see if penguins smile...
I've not been on a penguin hunt
In quite a long, long while!
It must be great to have such fun,
To swim and swirl below,
Inside wet water, 'neath the sun,
Fluorescent, all aglow!
Forget about a Teddy Bear!
Its fur is way too rough!
I'd rather be at home and share
A penguin I could love...

Self reliance
A sparrow in swiftness, an eagle in hovering,
Or a seagull in glides is not what a penguin is.
To flitter or flutter too, the penguin is not aspiring.
Envious not of others’ skill, she lives sanguinely.

A Petrel And a Penguin
The proud petrel
with strong mettle
flew over the sea.
Throwing his litters on the rocks
he watched the clumsy penguin’s walks.
The stupid penguin looked at the sky.
How much he wished to fly!
He had heard
he was also a bird.
If he could fly
he would proudly throw his litter
from the bird’s eye.
The moral of this song:
Remember to what kind of bird you belong.
Am I right?
A bird is known by it’s flight.

I am going to get political on you. Because I am the most shallow person in the world, my mission is to see men's formal wear change a little bit. It is too rigid! Everybody looks like a penguin!

Penguin Paradice
Each penguin's such a precious thing,
Content to honk all day!
Each wide-webbed foot, each floppy wing,
To them, they're quite OK.
The water's cold! They walk on ice!
Do you hear them complain?
To them, this place is Paradise!
They say, 'No p.p.p.pain, no g.g.g.gain! '
You won't catch me in ice cold sea
And gobbling ice cold fish!
They'd soon lose all their novelty -
They're not the ideal dish...
The easy life, that's all I want -
Not fish day in, day out...
My choice in every restaurant!
Yes, that's what life's about!
And central heating suits me fine
And clothes and jewels, too...
Some champagne or some fancy wine
And then I'll muddle through.
But fish, fish, fish would drive me mad!
I'd soon curl up my lips!
With no potatoes to be had,
There'd be no fish and chips!
No telly and no radio,
No papers to peruse...
Live as a penguin? No, thank you!
This human life I'd choose...

It's practically impossible to look at a penguin and feel angry.
What's the two things they tell you are healthiest to eat? Chicken and fish. You know what you should do? Combine them, eat a penguin.

If You Could
If you could dive like a penguin…
You could dive off of a triple-high diving board
If you could jump like a cat…
You could jump off of a rooftop and land on your feet
If you could have nine lives like a cat…
You could kill yourself eight times
And live
If you could swing like a monkey…
You could beat every other creature in the world
If you could run like a cheetah…
You could be chased by seven million hunters and never get caught
If you could know what the earth thought and wanted
You could make me happy for life
If I could be a bird, I think I'd be a penguin, because then I could walk around on two feet with a lot of other guys like me.

The Death of a Planet
The ocean waves crash along the shore
Its deep, gloomy depths hold
untold stories,
untold tragedies
Far away,
miles and miles along.
A 30ft wave submerges
a melting glacier
Penguins and fish alike swim away
to escape
the treacherous ship.
Polluting the water with oil
Pulling up pounds and pounds,
tons and tons
Of fish every day
Neither aquatic life,
nor penguins are safe
From the monstrosity
of human kind.
A mother and father penguin
get caught in a net,
tangle
and die.
Their baby now has to
fend for himself
But
with the shortage of fish,
with the fish gone
He does not
have enough energy
To swim back
to shore
The poor, innocent baby penguin
gets tired
And begins
to drown
Everything goes black
He is dying…
dying…..
gone

Poetry just isn't in its prime
It rhymes, how astute!

I'll think of another next time

Lust Love and Infatuation
Just as any teen
on relationship matters I was so keen
flip-flopping the pages
there I was
Time to build my vocabulary,
I realized.
Bonds! people form bonds?
not the bonds of chemistry,
stronger than these it sounds
It last for years
if not lifetime
no other reaction can break it.
The aftermath of infatuation
(going by the dictionary,)
to Love its contrary
the hunky-parky is hell
Its more than a piercing blade.
The (pre-pain) is wonderful
Not my spherical dictionary
no the little figures can explain
superb, perfect, splendid, ...
Am sorry I cannot put it well.
It calls it infatuation
If you like it say lust
not enough? then use 'love'.

In Hot Pursuit on Our Trail
When we made a fleeting visit to that highland,
in East Khasi Hills, Cherrapunji where perennial rainfall
keeps it the wettest place by both monsoonal winds.
The sky was blue with fleecy clouds
and in occasional slight drizzles we roamed happily.
We looked around lush green forests in the vales down
but no grassy stretch, the sheep found there to graze.
In parky weather, the pale-faced tribes live in small shelters.
We drove slowly to the border of Bangaladesh
and came back to the plateau in the evening.
Suddenly the Sun hid Himself somewhere above
and a frightening monstrous wave of darker clouds
was chasing behind our car like the tsunami - tidal waves.
The driver was in his highest speed but he stopped the car
when the rainy clouds shrouded the whole place.
We remained there in a darker world and a heavy downpour
was giving us a tumultuous welcome with noisy claps.
Half an hour later, the road was visible.
No floods! No pools! Rain- water took to its heels
washing away the paltry soil to the slopes around.
Rains will be downswing in the end of September
but that day’s wonderful feast to us was from the Heavens!

Too Hot to Sleep
When the night is hot and sticky,
and you’re troubled by the heat,
just think about the penguins,
with no socks upon their feet.
And think about the cold waters
where they swim out to feed
trying to avoid the waiting sharks
with their insatiable greed.
Would you like the life of a penguin
instead of being cosy in your bed?
Or would you like to dodge the sharks
and be nice and cold instead?

Christmas in Africa
Christmas in Africa
under a Southern sky
On an evening warm
we all recall
A tiny infant's sigh.
Christmas in Africa
under a Southern sky
Where people rejoice
with heart and voice
In a wondrous lullaby.
Chorus:
Woza moya oyingcwele (Come Holy Spirit)
Al-le-lui-ui-ia.
Christmas in Africa
under a Southern sky
Where mountain mist
meets the seaside kissed
And a penguin waddles by.
Christmas in Africa
under a Southern sky
Where the bush pig roams
far away from home
And a sunbird sings on high.

Batman
He's Batman but his true identity is Bruce Wayne.
Some people think he's a hero while others think he's insane.
He protects Gotham City from people who are a disgrace.
He protects them from the Joker, the Penguin and even from Two-Face.
The Riddler just struck and Batman has to fight.
He's the Caped Crusader and he's the Dark Knight.

The unfortunate
A polar bear does not suffer as much
As an African bear would imagine it to.
An Indian crow does not suffer as much
As a penguin would imagine it to.
The unfortunate are not as unfortunate
As the fortunate think them to be.

God is a funny guy
humor on high
how we get by
from day to day
God made us this hilarious way
penguin waddle
hippo grin
dolphin glee
as it swims the amazing sea
child's unique play
calf let out of the stall
kicks up its heels
coworkers' antics make us climb the wall
we're made in the image of God
even his crazy creatures
he must be a funny guy
laughing with us
from his heavenly pod
