Glass Rose
a glass rose
with broken edges,
sits alone on the table
in an empty room...
sunlight stolen
from crusted shades,
glints on the petals;
the raw edges shimmer,
almost to touch!
gathering dust,
frozen by time....
a glass rose....
almost to touch!

A Womans Touch
(toby keith/wayne perry)
Lately Ive been lookin through the windows of my soul
And I can see theres not much left to hold
Just an empty space surrounded by the pieces of
A badly broken heart thats forgotten how to love
What my heart needs is a womans touch
A tender hand to fix it up
Its rough and ragged edges sure could use some love
What my heart needs is a womans touch
When I look in the mirror, the only thing I see
Are traces of the man I used to be
Late at night I hear it, it cannot be denied
A lonely voice is crying out from somewhere deep inside
What my heart needs is a womans touch
A tender hand to fix it up
Its rough and ragged edges sure could use some love
What my heart needs is a womans touch
What my heart needs is a womans touch
A tender hand to fix it up
Its rough and ragged edges sure could use some love
What my heart needs is a womans touch
Yeah, its rough and ragged edges
Sure could sure some love
What my heart needs is a womans touch
What my poor heart needs is a womans touch
A womans touch

Rose Petals
Rose petals are so soft to touch,
rose petalsfragrance is so divine to smell,
rose petals are like lovely lips which smile,
rose petals are given to lady love,
rose petals are spread on bed of newly bride,
rose petals are life of butterflies,
rose petals are used for beauty baths,
rpse petals are offered on the lotus feet of god,
rose petals are placed on grave of dear ones,
rose petals are offered in river ganga for departed soul,
rose petals are showered on newly weds,
rose petals are decorated on festive days,
roses are given as a promise for everlasting love.

My Lovely Rose
I have a rose in the garden,
Unfolding red lovely petals,
With thorns surrounding it,
Could not touch and smell its fragrance.
I left the garden,
I left my lovely rose,
Far away yet so near,
Could not touch and smell its fragrance.
Time have passed,
Have seen again my rose,
Beautiful and sweetly scented at its full blossom,
Could not touch and smell its fragrance.
My rose is not mine anymore,
Yet I let my rose feel
Thy undoubting care and heart rejoicing,
Could glimpse again my lovely rose.

Rose, Fall
Rose of many petals that fall at gentle touch,
you cannot match up to my love-who with touch does not fall
Rose of the green stem, who withers when is dry
you cannot match up to my love, who with age, never dries
Rose of thorny flaws, who pricks me at the lips
you cannot match up to my love, whos lips contain no thorns
Rose like any other rose, who with them does not stand out,
you cannot match up to my love, whose beauty stands outloud
Rose of limited colors, who can only bloom one tone
you cannot match up to my love, who blooms of every hue
Rose, who only appeals to eyes, to those who see its beauty
you cannot match up to my love, who appeals to every sense
Rose fall down, and bow to my love-she is the one with grace
Rose wither away to my love, whose beauty outlives yours
Rose turn 'way, when in presence to my love-
for she holds something you dont hold
and that is my steep love

Yellow Rose
She came in my dreams last night,
She left a yellow rose and a love note on pillow next to me,
As always the inscription read,
'we are friends for ever and in the eternity'.
Since a rose is a rose,
why the red rose shines in the glory of love?
why the white roses remind us of our departed souls?
and why the yellow rose shines the rays of friendship in all of us?
Like sunshine bursting through grey clouds,
The aura of friendship emanates from its golden petals,
The frozen dew drops on its soft satin petals,
glorifies tears on my cheeks in the times of sadness,
Its mere presence and the fragrance,
fills my heart with the scent of warmth and affection.
Yellow rose you are perfection in creation,
I wonder why you have to wither away in time,
With every falling petal, a heart is broken,
with every withered yellow rose, a token of eternal friendship is lost.

Spirit Revealed (Number Two)
in every touch almost in passing,
every word spoken without thought.
in every thought that no one can see,
in every darkened corner.
in every sign held up in protest.
in every picket line that
shuts down traffic.
in every stolen car,
every empty house broke into.
in the bag of groceries that will not last.
in the gun put down,
in honest revelations.
in the prayer prayed beneath the bridge,
in the pair of boots worn and wise.
in the job walked away from,
in every stranger helped.
in the fugitive hidden,
and in the hiding place!
in every family on the road,
lifetimes piled inside old cars.
in graveyards swept by silence,
in every piece of wood cut and stacked.
in the rising swell,
and in the dying moan.
in the murmur of freedom,
spilling over the edges.
in the earth tainted by blood,
and in the orphan rose.
in the song of the mockingbird,
in the sunset,
and the untended fire.
spirit revealed...
tongues on hearts.
broken fingers, broken feet,
eyes walking as if the wind!

Bruised
Oval, red
falling through space,
edges turned
beauty spurned.
Falling again, flashes of red
pure blissful dread.
Cut, tampered, distorted
rolling into a whirling mass
of red.
Lifeless, homeless
almost dry,
the petals of a rose flower
A red rose flower
that in their struggle
for survival were
bruised.....

A dozen Roses
A dozen Roses I give you my friend A gift that seems smal but its represents so much Our friendship most of all
A rose for friendship
A rose for touch
A rose for the touch we sgare our sharing means so much
A rose for kindness and the deep caring you show
A rose for the comfort your given when I've Been low.
A rose for the laughter how its makes your eyes shine.
for the dreams we share Its amazing how they intertwine.
A rose for the deep respect you give me with ease
A rose for the love we share and Now you wish to please.
A Rose for your compassion that has helped me in so many ways
A Rose for the sunshine you bring to me to make my days so bright

Blue Rose
wish i could lay my eyes on the blue rose
aches to touch it, caress the petals
feel its texture on my skin
smell its fragrance and have it stored in my memory
need to touch need to feel
close to the blue rose
see it bloom, fully share its passion
and beauty in its core
experience the blue rose
listen to its dance
with the wind and sky
knowing and wanting it so much
such passion
yet where is the blue rose
never existed
only lives in my mind
hoping its real
not a dream

Thou Innocence Anointed And Jordan Bathed
Too sharp a thorn of midnight hours
Come and spill over the brinks of time
Too pale a shade in dark scented bowers
Come and spill over though edges are sharp
Of glass made voices in glass made towers
A broken step haunted in a broken harp
Like Cinderella’s shoes smashed on a stair
Like Cinderella’s rush punctual despair
Now sing and tear the tune into naught
Carriages afar horses hoofed in mud
Now play and reach the Moon to be sought
Dig a grave high up in deflowered buds
Thou innocence anointed and Jordan bathed
Come and spill over souls in glass engraved

Ruby Red Rose
To touch your lips,
ruby red rose
is to touch the petals
of a rose that grows
soft with moisture,
dewy and wet.
They're touched by your tongue,
withdrawn and yet
they glisten and shine.
And what I see
are kisses saved
just for me.
They sometimes smile
and beckon me.
I savor the feel
they give and see
that no other lips
could be as fine.
No other lips
like ruby red wine
could ever compare
as they open and close
to anything else
but a ruby red rose.

Love Desires
A Rose in the vase which sits
Scent of desire fills the room
Your bitter sweet touch I feel
I need all your love to consume
Love Desires
You have that special touch
A touch I never felt in my life
It's the way you excite me so
With you there can be no strife
Love Desires

Freak Out
The sun opens its eyes
Upon the distant horizon
Nature plays its peace harp as
I look into the dawning-
Petals of the glass rose blooming inside of my heart,
Tremulous as they fall
To my feet, splinter and are carried away-
A fallen foundation,
Shattered tranquility,
I would become a pilot in my solitude
In control of my own destiny,
A hurricane or none less than a
Whole gale in its full force,
With ammunition to kill and
The fury of the rage of a winter’s storm-
My soul, swept away,
My heart, frozen as
My fondest reverie has been
Dissipated, hurled and carried away
By the force of as that of a tornado-
I am now in control of my senses and
Have the power to
Manipulate the thoughts of this world’s strangers-
I stand alone envisioning
Broken shards of a glass rose
Strewn about that unsteady pathway once
Paved before me, as the hands of my intruders
Toy with the essence of my thoughts?
With every step I take upon
That fallen foundation, I would cry no tears.
My world has just crashed and fallen before me,
But as my heart has been pilfered,
I do not feel sadness but only
Unrelenting rage, which has
Assassinated the hearts and minds of the strangers
Who disrespected my boundaries-?
When the sun rises I shall be dead and gone, but
A glass rose shall grow by my grave site, and
I shall find peace here
Knowing that I am in control…

Barefooted
walking barefooted
on broken glass....
playing a flute;
listening, listening,
for the sound of
the Lover's voice....
waiting, for the familiar
touch, for the smell
of the last rose opening
as the wings of autumn
approach.... listening,
for the sound of my own heart,
or the sound of planets evolving;
waiting for the gift of emptiness,
and the dance of flesh on flesh....
walking barefooted
on broken glass....
whispering to the stillness!

How Does It Feel To Fly
from a walk early morning
you enter the door
of your house
you see a glass vase
with a red rose
alone in the
living room
you go near and smell
the rosiness
of the rose
and gaze at it
as though it is the only
rose of your
home
you feel
a heart with wings
you fly
like a very light feather
on the wind

Red Rose and Red Dragon (Poem 2 from Roses Series)
Be careful with this wild red rose,
no human planted it.
It was a red dragon.
You touch it,
you burn...Literally.
You'll feel the reign of it's fire.
You touch the red dragons red rose,
he might not burn you to death,
instead he might rip you apart.
Leaving bloody pieces behind.
So, if you don't want to have,
a red dragons wrath upon you...
I suggest you not touch the red rose.
It'll serve you good.
Beware of the red dragon,
when it comes to its' red rose.

Petals of a Red Rose
A Red rose is a harmonious flower,
Symbolising love, passion and devotion.
As many numbered red roses are,
There only needs to be one to say it all.
When you hand someone a red rose,
You tell them that you love them.
A red rose cannot be itself,
What truely makes them so important,
Is not the colour or the number of them,
But the petals itself.
The petals hold everything in place,
Encouraging the flower to be more graceful,
Giving hope and love,
To what we would normally think is plain.
A red rose is such an intricate design,
Just like us, your daughters,
We are your red rose,
We are capable of living on our own,
But like a red rose we need that one special bit,
To encourage us, believe in us and love us,
Which is why we say,
You are the petals of the red rose.

The Rose Dies When It Melts
The rain -
It froze on it's journey.
The deep red rose sparkles like glass.
And my heart...
will never melt.
The sun appears.
The leaves cry.
The trees cry.
But my tears are frozen -
And the rose dies when it melts.

A Rose Will Fade
You were always a dreamer, Rose - red Rose,
As you swung on your perfumed spray,
Swinging, and all the world was true,
Swaying, what did it trouble you?
A rose will fade in a day.
Why did you smile to his face, red Rose,
As he whistled across your way?
And all the world went mad for you,
All the world it knelt to woo.
A rose will bloom in a day.
I gather your petals, Rose - red Rose,
The petals he threw away.
And all the world derided you;
Ah! the world, how well it knew
A rose will fade in a day!
