Finds You Naked!

as hard as you strain
to pull the pack behind you...

you
...cannot
.....do
.... ....it!

all the things you're clinging to:
pride,
...success,
......possessions,
.........self-fulfillment,
.............ego.

all lost in an instant,
when time opens the door,
and finds you naked!

Everything And Everyone

She's never afraid of what her past had might become
Alone in her lazy time in-between a thought that ends with loss
Her life is spent searching for the next
An answer a question never asked
Everything and everyone finds their time
Everything and everyone writes their line
But it seems hard now things work out in time

She lacks self pride her lazy time
Never once identified her lonely nights
Spending days alone but through the phone
She waits for a voice to calm her name
Then takes a drink says it makes me sane
She lives through a dream she once called fate
Then finds herself alone to contemplate

Everything and everyone finds their time
Everything and everyone writes their line
But it seems hard now things work out in time

Fragments - Lines 1353 - 1356

Bitter and sweet, alluring and tormenting:
Such, till it be fulfilled, Kyrnos, is love to the young;
For if one finds fulfillment, it proves sweet; but if, pursuing,
One fails of fulfillment, then of all things it is most painful.

In Too Deep

Aint love a strain
Aint it a pain in your heart
Aint worth the trouble anyhow
Id like to give it up
Ive had enough and Ive done my part
But Im in too deep to pull out now
Good things weve had are going bad
And I dont know why
Id turn it around if I knew how
Im pushing aside all of my pride and its worth a try
Cause Im in too deep to pull out now
Chorus
We need to get our love back on its feet again
Weve come to far to let it come to an end
What can I do
Im in to you up over my heart
And Ive tried all that I know how
Doing all I can
I cant stand to see us fall apart
And Im in too deep to pull out now
Chorus
I cant step aside and let you
Slide right out of my life
It will cause more hurt than the law will allow
Ill get us back on the track
And it will be all right
Cause Im in too deep to pull out now
Cause Im in too deep to pull out now

I'm Bound To Pack It Up

Ive thought about it for a while
and Ive thought about the many miles
but I think its time that Ive gone away
the feelings that you have for me
have gone away its plain to see
and it looks to me that your pulling away
Im gonna pick it up
Im gonna pick it up today
Im bound pack it up
Im bound pack it up and go away
Ive found it hard to say to you
that this is what I have to do
but there is no way that Im gonna stay
there are so many things you need to know
and I wanna tell you before I go
but its hard to think of just what to say
Im gonna pick it up
Im gonna pick it up today
Im bound pack it up
Im bound pack it up and go away
Im sorry to leave you all alone
youre sitting silent by the phone
but wed always known there would come a day
the bus is warm and softly lit
and a hundred people ride in it
I guess Im just another running away
Im gonna pick it up
Im gonna pick it up today
Im bound pack it up
Im bound pack it up and go away

On What Is Success So Few Do Agree

On what is success so few do agree
The successful one to you may not be so to me
No two see things exactly the same as some like to say
We all look at life in a different way
Some people are not very hard to impress
They associate money and material things with success
Such as the value of your house and the value of your car
They never see you for the person you are,
The company you work for and your take home pay
Many look at success in this sort of a way
To them compassion and kindness to little amount
Though these things should be taken into account
When talking of success though it seems to me
That most of us look at things quite differently.

A little kindness

The door to success
Oh how difficult you are to pull,
sweat all over the face.
he pushes and pull

A little mercy
would reduce the pains
all strength is gone.
Kindness where art thou?

Just pardon our hearts,
beating faster than our breath;
as All hope is gone. we seek for Grace.
Grace where are you?

The narrow path to success,
oh! love don't pass me by.
Let thy mercy endure.
change the pains to joy.
And our sorrows to Success,
These we plead.

Succes! !

It’s not a goal you seek
It’s not about getting money
It’s not to stay negative
It’s not all about you but other around you too
It’s not the end but the beginning of your life
To realizing and learning is what your success is
To try and want to improve is what your success is
To accomplish things by your own is what your success
To give or share is what your success is
To respect and believing in you is what your success is
To challenge yourself is what your success is
To work hard to reach your dreams you once believe is what your success is
Success is sweet and…. I believe it’s waiting for you to own it and hold it with your life.

i Still Have Time

for things we like to do
we just do them and then for things we do not like doing
we always say, ' i still have time'

and time has no mercy for without us it goes
and then gone

and for all the things we have not done
we still say, ' i still have time'

and then there is this sunset that fades too quickly
orange to black, and then the world is too dark and silent and cold
for all the things that we have not done

time is dead and we have not done
the things that we should have done

time is too short for those that we love to do
the sinful ones
time is too long for those that we ought to do
those that could have opened the doors for our salvation

time is dead and then we are gone
regret laughs the hardest and the door to hell opens like the mouth of the
mad one.

A Thief May Steal Irreplaceable Possessions

A thief
is a man
woman

in need

who may steal
more than
your possessions.

He She may steal
your time moment
which is irreplaceable.

He She may offer
nothing except
his her naked need
to take possess

steal while offering
no sincerity
trust loyalty
friendship faith joy
or inspiration.

Only the naked need
to covert corrupt
ridicule manipulate
that cannot share

give uplift
or honour anything
except a thief

more cunning
exploiting
or blatant
than himself

A thief may steal
irreplaceable possessions

Sickness Of America

the sickness of America
began within each of us....
when we chose

profit over compassion,
self fulfillment over community,
success over family....

possessions over our neighbors,
indulgence over ecology,
lifestyle over spirituality....

oil addiction over fair treatment,
invasion over liberation,
special interests over equality....

for real change to be possible,
real healing must take place....
it too, begins within!

Set The Fire!

tear down the house!
throw all of your possessions
on the pile...
the possessions that owned you!

all of your memories,
your prejudices, your acts of
vengeance and greed...
all the things you think you needed...

your rights, your wrongs,
your halo, your guns...
your patriotism, your pride,
and the doors you locked...

all on the pile,
without looking back...
set the fire!

Try To Believe

Well I wish real hard when I close my eyes
If I could change the world--would I even try
If I found a reason to regain my pride
Oh if I try to believe--try to believe
Chorus
Its so hard to find an answer
Its so hard to stand alone
Its so hard to find a feeling
That was buried long ago
Its so hard to trust another
When its easier to hide
Its so hard to believe
Unless we try baby try
If I had a dream and it got away
If I found the words would I know what to say
If I had a chance to be someone else
Yeah if I try to believe, try to believe
Chorus
If I found a door Ive never been through
Would I have the courage to go in without you
(try to believe)
And if time runs short would I recognize
The things I couldnt see
If I try to believe--try to believe
If we listen to the voices that were silent for so long
If you thought they went away, well you couldnt be more wrong
If I tell you there is something that weve lost but can retrieve
If I tell you there is hope, if we try to believe
You remember theres a dream that we long since put aside
With the toys that we discarded
And the tears we never cried
We could have had it once again, if we try baby try

Clinging Back

When you see a man come walking down through George Street loose and free,
Suit of saddle tweed and soft shirt, and a belt and cabbagetree,
With the careless swing and carriage, and the confidence you lack—
There is freedom in Australia! he’s a man that’s clinging back.
Clingin’ back,
Holdin’ back,
To the old things and the bold things clinging back.
When you see a woman riding as I saw one ride to-day
Down the street to Milson’s Ferry on a big, upstanding bay,
With her body gently swaying to the horse-shoes’ click-a-clack,
You might lift your hat (with caution)—she’s a girl who’s clinging back.
Clinging back,
Swinging back.
To the old things and the bold things clinging back.

When you see a rich man pulling on the harbour in a boat,
With the motor launches racing till they scarcely seem to float,
And the little skiff is lifting to his muscles tense and slack,
You say “Go it” to a sane man. He’s a man that’s clinging back.
Clinging back,
Swinging back,
To the old things and the bold things clinging back.

When you see two lovers strolling, arm-in-arm—or round the waist,
And they never seem to loiter, and they never seem to haste,
But indifferent to others take the rock or bush-hid track
You be sure about their future, they’re a pair that’s clinging back.
Clinging back,
Holding back,
To the old things and the bold things clinging back.

I, a weary picture writer in a time that’s cruel plain,
Have been clinging all too sadly to what shall not come again,
To what shall not come and should not! for the silver’s mostly black,
And the gold a dull red copper by the springs where I held back.
Clinging back,
Holding back,
To the old things and the cold things clinging back.

But if you should read a writer sending truths home every time,
While his every “point” goes ringing like the grandest prose in rhyme,
Though he writes the people’s grammar, and he spreads the people’s “clack,”
He is stronger than the Public! and he’ll jerk the mad world back.
Yank it back,
Hold it back,
For the love of little children hold it back.

No end to success

Success is not the triumph over regress,
Success is the power to suppress.
Success is not the money or the fame,
Success is, knowing you are still the same.
Success is not the power or the pride.
Success is the knowing how to hide.
Success is not a gift or gain,
Success is accepting and believing in your name.
Success is not a point or goal to seek,
Success is, believing you have never reached the peak.

I Dont Know What I Want

(eric carmen)
My old man says success is the measure
Maybe so but I dont need the pressure
Not right now cause I got enough
Teachers tell me I dont lack the brains
Ask if Im under some kind of strain
Well thats too much and I really cant take it
They all say that Im not getting younger
And Id better make up my mind
Man, youd think I was committin some kinda crime
cause I dont know what I want
I dont know what I want
I dont know what I want
But I want it now
When I talk they just dont wanna listen
The they push me to make some decisions
I cant wait and they wonder why
Everyone says Ive got no direction
They want me sent to a house of correction
Thats too much when I really cant take it
When I try to relieve my frustration
Seems like nothing I can do is right
My mind is aching and Im sick of being so uptight
cause I dont know what I want
I dont know what I want
I dont know what I want
But I want it now
All my life they complained that Im just a dreamer
But I cant make a move when they wound my pride
When they say it must stop they push and pull me
I dont know what to do
And its like Im just talking through a cell door
Some one give me a clue
cause I dont know what I want
I dont know what I want
I dont know what I want
But I want it now
I want it now
Oh, give it to me
Oh, yeah

Emily Dickinson

A door just opened on a street

A door just opened on a street--
I, lost, was passing by--
An instant's width of warmth disclosed
And wealth, and company.

The door as sudden shut, and I,
I, lost, was passing by,--
Lost doubly, but by contrast most,
Enlightening misery.

Unopened Doors

Many doors of opportunity
remain shut through passing time.
You stand at them,
but they never open to let you pass through.
You try and try, but with no avail.
The door remains shut to you,
but you see other pass through it
and your frustration grows.
You bang and shout
and never anyone answers you.
The years slip silently by
from your youth until your old.
Each time you try the door
it refuses to let you through.
Even with more wisdom
it refuses to let you in,
but you don’t give up
you just try and try again.
More time passes
and you’ve lost the will
to want to go through.
You reach that point when you feel the battle lost.
Turning your back you walk away
to let the sun set on your life.
You feel you have nothing now,
no more will to fight.
Someone suggests a different direction,
a different door to go through.
You are hesitant
in case the door remains shut to you.
Finally, you try it
and are amazed to find
the door opens easily
and you can walk through,
but you keep remembering
the door that wouldn’t open for you.

If It Was Not Terrorized

For all of the wealth one man has,
Another lives in poverty.
For all of the poverty that man has...
Another finds hope.
For all of the hope that man finds...
Another is motivated.
For all of the motivation that man has,
Another finds success.
And from all of the success stories told...
The quest for peace seems neverending!
Much like the cost of it that feeds fear,
And yet the price to find it...
Is more visible than it is to locate!
Perhaps if it was not terrorized,
It would appear!

Orange Juice Blues

(by richard manuel.)
I had a hard time waking this morning
I got a lotta things on my mind
Like those friends of yours
They keep bringing me down
Just hangin' round all the time
I've had a hard time waking most mornings
And it's been that way for a month or more
You've had things your way
But now i've got to say
I'm on my way out the door
Chorus:
Why don't you get right, try to get right, baby
You haven't been right with me, why don't you get right?
Try and get right, baby, don't you remember how it used to be?
You had a hard time waking this morning
And i can see it in your empty eyes
But there's no need for talking
Or walking round the block
Just to figure out the reason why
I have a hard time handing out warnings
I'll just slide on out the door
Cuz i'm tired of everything
Being beautiful, beautiful
And i ain't coming back no more
