Elizabeth Barrett Browning

Perplexed Music

EXPERIENCE, like a pale musician, holds
A dulcimer of patience in his hand,
Whence harmonies, we cannot understand,
Of God; will in his worlds, the strain unfolds
In sad-perplexed minors: deathly colds
Fall on us while we hear, and countermand
Our sanguine heart back from the fancyland
With nightingales in visionary wolds.
We murmur ' Where is any certain tune
Or measured music in such notes as these ? '
But angels, leaning from the golden seat,
Are not so minded their fine ear hath won
The issue of completed cadences,
And, smiling down the stars, they whisper--
SWEET.

So Satisfying

The musician struggles with a tune all night
and tries to keep it near.
Sometimes it slips right through the ear.
At times it's gone I fear.

A cursed blankness creates a loss
and in the morn you sigh.
'Should the theme have ended low
or have taken the notes up high?

That tune is gone but the quest goes on
and the music comes alive.
A theme is finally completed
and so you let it survive.

Over and over it plays in the head
and will not be subdued.
To the musician that wrestled with the notes
the completion is just like food.
So satisfying.

Sweet Love Song

i hurd a sweet love song
so sweet to my ears
so strong to my heart
i had to fine out where it was comming from
i let my heart lead me to the start of the song
i let my ears get lost in the melody
flowing with the notes
losing my breath with every beat
the sweet love song was getting louder to my ears
the sweet love song was getting stronger to my heart
getting closer to you
getting closer to your love
right by your side
i open my eyes and see your sweet face
still hearing your sweet love song
smiling at you
as you hear my sweet love song
smiling at you
as you fall in love with the beat of my heart....

Angels

The further you get, the better you see
Ooh yeah, it all goes on and on, infinitely
The closer you are, the better you see
Oh, within, within, there is infinity
worlds within worlds within worlds within worlds
Let your soul take you higher
There are no bounds
Let your soul take you higher
(chase your fire)
(out of love, with empty souls)
Oh look back from the stars and see we are dust
It all goes on and on and we are the dust
So why don't we laugh, and why-
why don't we sing...
in endless chords and harmonies
We're angels, dancing 'round
(repeat chorus to fade)

The Musicians

The strings of my heart were strung by Pleasure,
And I laughed when the music fell on my ear,
For he and Mirth played a joyful measure,
And they played so loud that I could not hear
The wailing and mourning of souls a-weary -
The strains of sorrow that floated around,
For my heart's notes rang out loud and cheery,
And I heard no other sound.

Mirth and Pleasure, the music brothers,
Played louder and louder in joyful glee;
But sometimes a discord was heard by others -
Though only the rhythm was heard by me.
Louder and louder, faster and faster
The hands of the brothers played strain on strain,
When all of a sudden a Mighty Master
Swept them aside; and Pain,

Pain, the musician, the soul-refiner,
Restrung the strings of my quivering heart,
And the air that he played was a plaintive minor,
So sad that the tear-drops were forced to start;
Each note was an echo of awful anguish,
As shrill as solemn, as sharp as slow,
And my soul for a reason seemed to languish
And faint with its weight of woe.

With skilful hands that were never weary,
This Master of Music played strain on strain,
And between the bars of the miserere,
He drew up the strings of my heart again,
And I was filled with a vague, strange wonder,
To see that they did not snap in two.
'They are drawn so tight, they will break assunder, '
I thought, but instead, they grew,

In the hands of the Master, firmer and stronger;
And I could hear on the stilly air -
Now my ears were deafened by Mirth no longer -
The sound of sorrow, and grief, and despair;
And my soul grew kinder and tender to others,
My nature grew sweeter, my mind grew broad,
And I held all men to be my brothers,
Linked by the chastening rod.

My soul was lifted to God and heaven,
And when on my heart-strings fell again
The hands of Mirth, and Pleasure, even,
There was never a discord to mar the strain.
For Pain, the musician, and soul-refiner,
Attuned the strings with a master hand,
And whether the music be major or minor,
It is always sweet and grand.

Spring's Sonnet

The golden dust of the sad moon,
Sifts musical notes all around,
I listen to this simple tune,
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound.

White angels play the violin,
The yellow birds sing a new song,
The party's on, the fun begins,
Red flowers smiling, come along.

Blue butterflies dancing with me,
Old stars come down to kiss the earth,
New silver bells ring... Victory!
Snowdrops announce the new Spring birth.

Cherry blossom rise in splendor,
As the winter slow surrender!

I Hear Music

Frank loesser / burton lane
I hear music
Mighty fine music
The murmur of a morning breeze up there
The rattle of the milkman on the stair
Sure thats music
Mighty fine music
The singing of a sparrow in the sky
The perking of the coffee right near by
Thats my favorite melody
You my angel, phoning me
I hear music
Mighty fine music
And anytime I think my world is wrong
I get me out of bed and sing this song

Rain Music

On the dusty earth-drum
Beats the falling rain;
Now a whispered murmur,
Now a louder strain.

Slender, silvery drumsticks,
On an ancient drum,
Beat the mellow music
Bidding life to come.

Chords of earth awakened,
Notes of greening spring,
Rise and fall triumphant
Over every thing.

Slender, silvery drumsticks
Beat the long tattoo--
God, the Great Musician,
Calling life anew.

Unforgettable In Your Ear

There are notes in music
that take you high.
And notes that take you low.
When you listen to the notes of music
you never know where you'll go.

Within one song the notes you hear
affect how you will feel.
A plaintive melody might make you sad
or remind you of your pain.
But all of that can change in a minute
as you feel your emotions drain.

Uplifting notes can bring to you
a few moments of ecstatic peace.
Each inspiring strain can take you where
you are able to release
whatever it was that was troubling you,
erase it for a minute or two.

These notes are magic and so is life.
They're there and then they're not.
They're a gift to you from composers
that plant a forget-me-not.

Sparkle

Maurice white, eddie delbarrio & philip bailey
On a golden sky, you my sparkle flying high
My vibration start to rhyme and it chimes
With loves direction
Now, Im traveling my cares unraveling,
Flying high, just you and me
Feeling free along loves highway
Lover forever unfolds magical moments together
And the fire to ignite melodies tonight
Birds can only sing the song we write
Harmonies in tune that reflect the moon
Sparkle youre so rare and lovely in my sight
Just give me a sign, and be my valentine
Let the arrow full of light, pierce the nigght
With loves affection
Sharing blissfully making history
Fragrants of you loving smile
A little while will last forever
Lover forever unfolds magical moments together
And the fire to ignite melodies tonight
Birds can only sing the song we write
Harmonies in tune that reflect the moon
Sparkle youre so rare and lovely in my sight
Youre my valentine
You create a rhyme all the birds can sing
Our song divine
Sparkle like a star, sparkling you are
Glistening in my heart
You light my sky
Love forever unfolds magical moments together
And the fire to ignite melodies tonight
Birds can only sing the song we write
Harmonies in tune that reflect the moon
Sparkle youre so rare and lovely in my sight

I Want To Sing A Song

I want to sing a song
For long my wish on skies..
So high so far so sweet
So sweet my song so makes
And takes on notes me soar
Me soar to moon and stars
To stars and moon my notes

Happy going going
Going godly tuning
Tuning moving scaling
Scaling music tonic
Tonic songful soulful
Soulful spaceward tuneful
Harken, follow would you..

You sing you sing a song
A song so strong to gong
To gong in tune with mine
So mine and yours to sing
To sing the moon and stars
The stars and moon in tune
In tune with us so high

Mozart's Requiem

These birds of Paradise but long to flee
Back to their native mansion. ~
Prophecy of Dante

A Requiem! and for whom!
For beauty in its bloom?
For valour fall'n? a broken rose or sword?
A dirge for king or chief,
With pomp of stately grief,
Banner, and torch, and waving plume deplor'd?

Not so, it is not so!
The warning voice I know,
From other worlds a strange mysterious tone;
A solemn funeral air
It call'd me to prepare,
And my heart answer'd secretly my own!

One more then, one more strain,
In links of joy and pain,
Mighty the troubled spirit to inthrall!
And let me breathe my dower
Of passion and of power
Full into that deep lay the last of all!

The last! and I must go
From this bright world below,
This realm of sunshine, ringing with sweet sound!
Must leave its festal skies,
With all their melodies,
That ever in my breast glad echoes found!

Yet have I known it long:
Too restless and too strong
Within this clay hath been th' o'ermastering flame;
Swift thoughts, that came and went,
Like torrents o'er me sent,
Have shaken, as a reed, my thrilling frame.

Like perfumes on the wind
Which none may stay or bind,
The beautiful comes floating thro' my soul;
I strive with yearnings vain,
The spirit to detain
Of the deep harmonies that past me roll!

Therefore disturbing dreams
Trouble the secret streams
And founts of music that o'erflow my breast;
Something far more divine
Than may on earth be mine,
Haunts my worn heart, and will not let me rest.

Shall I then fear the tone
That breathes from worlds unknown?
Surely these feverish aspirations there
Shall grasp their full desire,
And this unsettled fire,
Burn calmly, brightly, in immortal air.

One more then, one more strain;
To earthly joy and pain
A rich, and deep, and passionate farewell!
I pour each fervent thought
With fear, hope, trembling, fraught,
Into the notes that o'er my dust shall swell.

Music Man

Music man oh music man

I hear you, a sweet harmonious sound.
A sonata, a magnum opus of exquisite mysteries

Music man oh music man

Let me fill your notes with my vocal picturesque soul.
Any note played with you, I know I’ll hold.

This linear musical structure couldn’t be better synchronized
I aim to mesmerize hypnotize that lucid drum now stabilized

Can you see it, imagine it?
Dare to make a sweet tune in this duo with it.
I just can’t see anything other than a great masterpiece,
a symphony you’d be insane to miss.

Music man oh music man

Its time, time to tell you how your melody
It leads me to feel a case of charity.
It’s with you I want to write this song
I now I can’t stay long, my studio time is almost gone

Music man oh music man
.
My stage fright is now mild,
I sing to make that heart smile
So are you in, do you have my missing 6 bars
This is an invitation to reach the stars

Music man oh music man

I need to know how this lustful song will flow
My impatience, this need for exclamation,
a little information is making it hard to cope.

Music man, is this more than a just song?

Mammary Tunes

Under heavy haze I cast an ear…
Was that a distant hymn?

To view, to peer ahead,
I span thro’ sharpened eyes,
Connecting brain. Surprise
Awards emotion to the show –
A fine refrain.

I think I know the source:
Without recourse my keen and
Eager shoes propel my whole.

And she regales me as I close –
The drifting notes propose I place
An ear to verge upon the emanation.
Choice of left or right
Invites and overwhelms;
A brief respite, and then
I poise an aural organ,
Seeking out the balance
In the tone from rhythmic flesh.

O Holy Grail, the sweet spot!

Honed in stereophony and
Mastered out of euphony:
Her music –
Diaphragms of luscious areolae
Give the tune

Atop a vibrant bass –
Quivers in the
Belly of her breast.
And presently
I fall beneath a spell of heady music
As her reproductive cushions do the rest.

I Know Who Holds Tomorrow

I Don't Know About Tomorrow
I Just Live From Day To Day
And I Don't Borrow From The Sunshine
'cause The Skies Might Turn To Grey

And I Don't Worry About The Future
'cause I Know What Jesus Said
And Today I'm Gonna Walk Right Beside Him
'cause He's The One Who Knows What Is Ahead

There Are Things About Tomorrow
That I Don't Seem To Understand
But I Know Who Holds Tomorrow
And I Know Who Holds My Hand

And Each Step Is Getting Brighter
As The Golden Stairs I Climb
And Every Burden Is Getting Lighter
And All The Clouds Their Silver Line

And I'll Bet The Sun It's Always Shining
And No Tears Will Ever Dim The Eye
And The Ending Of The Rainbow
Where The Mountains They Touch The Sky

There Are Many Things About Tomorrow
I Don't Seem To Understand
But I Know Who Holds Tomorrow
And I Know Who Holds My Hand
Yes I Know Who Holds My Hand

Fine Line

How would I know about your life
How about a long night
How do you follow the sun
How do you stay under the thumb
Theres a fine line between us
Such a fine fine line
Theres a fine line between us
And its always on my mind
What can you say to make me realize
The full moon in your eyes
You probably know now that youre waking up
You still feel shaken up
Theres a fine line between us
All the way
Theres a fine line between us
Cant waste another day
They take you in their arms and whisper
What you want to hear dont you fall
They show you all their charms and whisper
Dont you shed a tear dont you fall

Dixie Boy

Words and music by jim mcbride
Iwas raised in the shadow of an old cotton mill, back when believin was in
Style.
Smalltown heaven and a big-eyed boy made sweet music for a while.
My daddy worked hard down at the facotry.
Nights he went to g.i. school.
He didnt know nothin bout the silver spoon, but he lived by the golden
Rule.
Summer nights he was gone; me and mama stayed home, out on the front porch
Swing, wishin on the stars in the southern sky, and sometimes we used to
Sing.
We were leaning, leaning on the everlasting arms of love, livin all the
Simple joys this dixie boy is made of.
Got my real educationfrom the t.v. station and good ole boys down at the
Park.
The say hey, willie and those rock-a-billies played their way into my
Heart.
I remember the old folks sittin round talkin on laidback sunday
Afternoons.
They said them young folks sure got a hard road.
Oh, theyre growin up too soon.
Now I know they were right, and as I sit here tonight out on the front porch
Swing, the stars are shinin in my young boys eyes, just like they did for
Me;
We are leaning, leaning on the everlasting arms of love, livin all the
Simple joys this dixie boy is made of.

The Veery

THE MOONBEAMS over Arno’s vale in silver flood were pouring,
When first I heard the nightingale a long-lost love deploring.
So passionate, so full of pain, it sounded strange and eerie;
I longed to hear a simpler strain,—the wood-notes of the veery.

The laverock sings a bonny lay above the Scottish heather;
It sprinkles down from far away like light and love together;
He drops the golden notes to greet his brooding mate, his dearie;
I only know one song more sweet,—the vespers of the veery.

In English gardens, green and bright and full of fruity treasure,
I heard the blackbird with delight repeat his merry measure:
The ballad was a pleasant one, the tune was loud and cheery,
And yet, with every setting sun, I listened for the veery.

But far away, and far away, the tawny thrush is singing;
New England woods, at close of day, with that clear chant are ringing:
And when my light of life is low, and heart and flesh are weary,
I fain would hear, before I go, the wood-notes of the veery.

You know I dont understand why you treat me like this
Its almost like you feel like youre from two different worlds
well, we are todd I dont think so
You should have a listen to me right now
I can feel it now baby I can feel it now, I can feel that
Even though youre a queen and Im only a prince
I felt the magical between us ever since
The first time that I laid eyes on you
I want you to be my girl, so I can hold you
Caress you and let you know that I love you
And day by day my love grows
Heres where I stand, I gotta be your man
I dont care if were from two different worlds
But were from
Two different, two different, were from two different worlds
Two different, two different worlds

But its just a dream and it could never be real
So face to face I cant love you
Were from two, different worlds
Two different, two different, were from two different worlds
Two different, two different worlds
Man things are different, birds and bees
Flowers and trees, you and me
But it really doesnt matter, it makes us stronger
Theres more to talk about, well be together longer
Trustin me, have faith in my love
It goes so deep, girl youre so sweet
As a matter of fact, I want you for my wife
Please be a part of my life
I cant believe you wont give up
Your love is strong but boy, so what so what
You cant love me, I cant love you
Were from two, different worlds it doesnt matter
Two different, two different two different,
Were from two different worlds i dont care
Two different so what two different worlds
It could never make a difference in my heart

Never could keep us apart
Hold on hold on who cares what the world is sayin?

Two different, two different two different so different
Were from two different worlds i dont care
Two different so what, two different worlds
So whats it gonna be, you wanna be with me?
I wanna be witchu, my love is true
All you gotta do is get into love
Its like a blessin in disguise, sent from up above
This is your last chance, real not fate
Give me a break, dont make a mistake
Cause Im for real, I want you for my girl
I dont care if were from different worlds, but were from
Two different, two different two different so different
Were from two different worlds i dont care
Two different, two different worlds who cares baby
You gotta understand, you gotta understand, just take my hand, come on baby
Two different have a heart honey two different worlds i want you, I need you

Who Then Is Like Our God?

Who has measured out the waters
In the hollow of His hand?
Who has measured out the heavens
And measured them with a span?

Who created every star
And knows them all by name?
Who has knelt down at His feet
And still remained the same?

Who then is like our God
Who is brighter than the sun?
Who is Father, Son and Holy Ghost
Who is three but who is one

Lift up your eyes on high
And see the glory of our King
See the heavenly choirs of angels
Lift their voice to Him and sing

Man's own strength it has an end
And even young men fall
But those who wait upon the Lord
Shall hear the Master's call

Rise up, rise up ye weary saint!
And fly where eagle's fly
You will run and shall not faint
You shall soar into the sky
