Real Life Lesson
REAL LIFE LESSON -
Edward Iacona
To be a student in your class
was certainly considered a coup
All the kids sure wanted you
and maybe a few mommies too.
Beyond the Three R's you traveled,
your lessons laced with mirth.
You taught of wolves and wildlife
and conservation of the Earth
Your teaching rings with wisdom
of heroes and brotherhood
Of standing up for justice
as future adults they should
Your classroom philosophy
was easy to explain.
An ongoing lesson that
your students should retain
That in living a good life
one should never abstain
from always striving for kindness
and for always being humane.
When dark times came to your life
We listened to all your lows
We took you in like family
We comforted your woes.
Then dark times came to our life
faced with separation and divorce
I called to you my 'brother'
My thinking was, of course.
I asked that you would mediate
a union that should not be dissolved
Your answer to my tearful plea;
'Sorry, can't get involved.'
One thinks of all the hearts and minds
That you touch and reach
Maybe you should learn from yourself
and practice what you teach.

The Classroom
you walk on by the classroom
day to day
but never think about
what’s in it
I know, I didn’t
not because you don’t care
cause it never entered your mined
you might wonder when you see the students
you might know that
they have to go to a “special”
classroom of there own
you might even know what’s
in the classroom
you don’t know what they
do in the classroom
the academics
the physical therapy
the carts and crafts
the culinary arts
most of all the life skills
sounds a lot like most of you classes
right
cause it is
so why not just stop on by
say hello to
the staff
the students
talk to one of the students for a while
they will teach you something
you’ll never learn anywhere else
the classroom will always be there
with students and staff
that will talk to you
watch them watch the students
you’ll learn a lot about life
let the classroom teach you something
let you teach the classroom,
that being “normal” is not
so different
teach that
please teach that
to the
classroom
for it will always be
just
a classroom with
students
staff
and a few students
who stopped on by
and
said hello

The School Of Life
The place were much was learned; The School Of Life.
A far different place than papers, books, and homework.
The School of Life, is a never ending, when it comes to lessons.
In The School Of Life, I have learned, that not
all, is ever learned, or comprehended.
The School Of Life, often teaches one, some bitter and
disappointing lessons.
This school, reveals much in the way of surprises. Many
that of a happy nature and some, devastating.
Somehow, The School Of Life, teaches one, to keep going.
To try...try and try again. We learn that much is gained
through tenacity. We learn it matters not how many times
one is knocked down, for it is how many times we get
up, that is the test in this school.
We learn of mans inhumanity to man. We learn that in
helping our fellow human beings, there is much reward.
We learn, that The School Of Life, has no graduating day.
We learn, that we remain, an ongoing student of education.
The School Of Life, does have its rewards; a diploma of
knowledge, understanding and wisdom.
The School Of Life, better than any college in the world.
The School of Life, where knowledge is ones ticket to
anyplace in the world.
Learn ye well, for in The School Of Life, one does not
have the opportunity to repeat a grade.

Never Burn a Bridge That Has Been Easily Given
You've lost your job and home,
The respect of your spouse...
And now your kids roam,
All over the place with hoodlums.
Since they wish not to be alone.
And I am quite surprised you've come to me.
I've lived for years on a fixed income.
And my life is lived basic and happily.
You told me once I had a life you could not live.
So glad I am blessed to have it...
And sorry to learn your life is the way it is.
I am sure there will be many lessons,
You will come to learn.
There was one you taught me yourself.
Never burn a bridge that has been easily given.
Especially one you did not earn.
And constructed just for you to cross.
Since one never knows,
When the desire to cross it again will be yearned.
But a connection has been lost.
'That's a lesson I taught to you?
I don't recall saying that.'
You don't have to!
It was my lesson.
And you were there like you are right now,
To keep it fresh as if just taught.

Life Is a Lesson
Life is a lesson.
Don't be afraid to live it!
Take what it gives...
And return to it a thankfulness.
Life is a lesson.
We all have tests to pass.
Some attempt to refuse their tasks.
And fall to to become indignant and crass.
Life is a lesson.
Learn your lessons well.
Some will choose a path to heaven!
Others will curse themselves...
Preferring to address their stressing hell!
Life is a lesson!
Do what is received as given...
And perceive with that,
You are doing you're best!
At least...
You are doing what you can and well!

Hetuaght me a lesson
He said he was going to
teach me a lesson.
I needed to no some things.
The lesson was rape.
But he said it was a game.
He said I had to learn sometime.
When he'd finished.
He smiled and said.
This happens to
Stupid little girls
All the time.
I was only teaching you a lesson.
If it was a lesson to learn
It was one well tuaght.
Be weary of who you trust.
For you never can
Read people like a book.
If you could
The world would be safe.
It was a lesson hard learned.
One that still remains today.
Its a lesson that effects me still.
I only wish I could
Of turned and run.
Only when your young
Like that you dont
Really understand.
If I did
I would of ran.
A thousand miles a way.
Out of reach.
And out of harms way.

Good Bye
It is time to say good bye,
amidst small gathering and cry,
Soul to depart from body and fly,
No one knows where and why?
Always stayed among kith and kin
Struggled hard though not very keen
So much load on solder as it had always been
So many odds against but clear path seen
Kept all flocks under shed and together
Waging a struggle and not thought to bother
Continued to strive very hard and survived
Explored all possible means and revived
Lived life to the extent possible,
Made it easy though looked impossible,
Discharged obligations to the last end,
Sensed eternal signals which were send,
Many things were done and remained undone,
Received acclaim from friends as well done,
Considered life as meaningful and good mission,
No doubts ever occurred as matter of question
Will my work remain not to be in time finished?
Chances are not bright and seems to be diminished
though life remained fulfilled and has no regret,
it’s time to sleep peacefully and rest to forget,
Will my living not be exemplary and remembered?
Ideas may soon be forgotten and pushed in corner
This may take place or happen later or sooner,
It is a lesson for the learner or beginner
I may have not lived up to the expectations,
May have many emissions and omissions,
Might have not yielded to the submissions,
But always have resisted the temptations
Ambition and desire may remain always a concern
Attempt to disassociate will be a lesson to learn
Sun always shined and brought ray of hope,
Descending was easy even in high slopes
it gives enough joy And contentment
Life seems to be a mission for fulfillment
Might have faced rough weather sometimes
Everybody in life faces good or bad times
Eyes are filled with joy and unhappiness
When you became familiar with closeness
It was happy union but soon to come to an end
You had to leave everybody including friends
It is not easy to forget log association
Either in service, circle or with family
Sometimes we might have acted silly
But it would have been atmosphere homely
It is tearful and sad departure
You may feel end in near future
It is simple law of nature
Just get top of it and be sure
Final journey to bid farewell and bye,
Not enough time to say even lie,
Permanent position to find and go,
Leaving behind memories and forgo

Life's lesson!
Life's lesson, always changing not the same,
Sometimes hard, Sometimes easy,
Sometimes confusing, Sometimes daunting,
Theories of life's lessons,
Lighthouse in the sea shore,
It is always flicking and hiding,
Why do we learn through our own experience?
After many hours and years of research,
Theories are derived and approved.
Though it is wrong or right,
Why are we interested in learning,
Though our own experience?
The fire is hot; still want to touch it,
The volcanoes spewing, still want to dive into it,
Though the Arrival of tsunami is visible,
Not run opposite, but run towards it,
Why do we like to learn the life's lesson,
Through our own bad experience?

I Don't Think So
I Don't Think So
We've been through this time together
AlI in my mind the love was so alive
Oh I never wanted for another
Then I saw the beginnings of a Iie
Good times and the bad times
Through the good times and the bad times with me
Good times and the bad times
Yeah I wonder why I never see
Good times and the bad times
Oh maybe there was always something wrong
Good times and the bad times
Did l wait too long
Chorus:
You said you'd love me for all of your life
I don't think so
Through the best of the best and the worst of the times
I don't think so
You said the world was a beautiful place
l don't think so
You swore the love was perfectly sale
I don't think so
People can only stay together
If in their hearts they know they can say what's on their minds
Would you say
Good times and the bad times
If it can't really be then I gotta move on
Good times and the bad times
Is it really time
Chorus: (repeat)
Said the check's in the mail and the maiI's on time
I don't think so
Said out of touch ain't out of mind
I don't think so
Couldn't live without me, and that's a fact
I don't think so
Love is real and it's not an act
I don't think so
Come on
Good times and the bad times
I don't think so
Good times and the bad times
Baby our love was a beautiful thing
I don't think so
Good times and the bad times
You said you'd love me for all of your life
I don't think so
Good times and the bad times
Through the best of the best and the worst of times
I don't think so
l don't think so baby oh baby oh baby come on
I don't think so
The love was right but the loving was wrong

What A Ride
Present life can be one big ride, but, in my life God is glorified,
As The Lord guides me through, times and places He foreknew,
Times He ordered in my life, in that I could lean on Jesus Christ,
While God leads me from above, all through this ride I speak of.
My ride has valleys and hills, but lacking an amusement’s thrills,
For although each hill was high, at times they’d bring just a sigh,
Although at times it brought relief, time on the hill was only brief,
With yet another valley in view, that time was short, this we knew.
For on this ride I wasn’t alone, the experience wasn’t just my own,
Along with me in this ride of life, was a God provided loving wife,
By my side in the good and bad, a comfort when times were sad,
Comforted, not only by His grace, but by my wife in all we’d face.
The Lord was with us at every turn, as we helped each other learn,
God’s ways in dark times, as He comforted our hearts and minds,
And when on a hill we’d plateau, in our ride we had come to know,
Hearing the joy within her voice, together in God we would rejoice.
The time together in which we spend, upon this ride will soon end,
For Eternity is ahead for both of us, together with our Lord Jesus,
As soon we’ll both leave this place, to a home afforded by Grace,
And before in my life I have died, I shall say to Christ, what a ride!

Remember The Good Times
Good times bad times
Bad times good times
We were twisting Chubby Checker style
In a roaring sixties summer night
We walked the moon and we were free
When Jimi played guitar
We shared a dream with Martin Luther King
We saw J.F.K. in West Berlin
When he spoke those famous words that day
Our world was not the same
Remember the good times
Remember the bad times
Remembering my life, your life
Let the film just roll
We were lost in shock, the world was doomed
Nikita hit us with a shoe
We watched the world go upside down
When the Kennedys got shot
We were screaming when the world was fab
We had Rock 'n' Roll invade our hearts
We had Elvis, Janis, Marilyn
And hair, to let it grow
Remember the good times
Remember the bad times
Remembering my life, your life
Let the film just roll
Remember the good times
Remember the bad times
Remembering my life, your life
We're still standing after all
Back in the cold war
Our hearts were warm
Just because sex was free
In the summer of love
Remember the good times
Remember the bad times
Remembering my life, your life
Let the film just roll
Remember the good times
Remember the bad times
Remembering my life, your life
We're still standing after all
Good times bad times
Bad times good times
Im still standing
Let the film just roll
I'm still standing
We're still standing after all

Dad's Lessons Passed On
He was not filthy rich
But had the depth of knowledge
That he had blessed me with
To face my trials with great courage.
Dad taught me the love for books
A quiet spirit in times of strife
All those years his lesson took
Me through the hardships of my life.
Teach a child the wealth of reading
To feed his mind, keep him from trouble
Values learned he will be using
To grow up wise and be responsible.
Dad's lessons I now try to teach
On the next in line there to impart
My children know their goals to reach
By keeping his lessons in their heart.

Love Is Complicated
My love life is not taught.... meaning, love.... my life miserable teach, love teaching my life.... suffering, love to teach my life.... sad, love life taught me grief...., love to teach my life.... revenge, love to teach my life.... envy, love of life taught me.... hate, love.... my life teaching in fool, love life taught me.... in use, love.... my life teaching in one sense, love of life taught me.... sin, love to teach my life.... the journey is not endless.
Life a school, learning the living
Life, a school
With no class rooms
With no black boards
With no one standing before you and teaching
With no tests
With no exams
With no marks, ranks and promotions
With no books
Life, a school
And you are in the same standard or class life through
Who is teaching, but
Everyone you come across and
Everything nearby
From just born to the one waiting to depart
The leaf dancing to the tunes of the wind
The car that is speeding by your side
The plane flying up in the sky
The water flowing gently in the stream
The stars twinkling in the dark sky
The colourful horizon at the other end
The mist, cloud, smoke and emission
The small ant busy carrying a much-bigger-to-its-size dry leaf
The butterfly jumping from flower to flower
All have potentials to teach,
If you have the desire to learn
What do they teach
To remain happy ever
To help others improve their status of happiness
To keep yourself balanced in all situations
To go ahead with your work emotion free
To stay healthy and be kicking
To be special of your own
To be social and sociable
To lead and to be an active part in team
Not to lose time in dreams and wasteful thinking
Not to be lazy and lost
Not to feel unwanted
And quite a number of other things for lively living
And to apply what all you learnt
And just not remeber and pour it out for scoring marks
Who assesses performance?
You and you only
As you only know what was taught
And you only know what was learnt
The more you apply what you learnt
The better is your performance
Know your performace from
How long you stay cool
How many derive benefits of your existence
How many call on you
And how many you call on
How do others respond to your requests
How you respond to their requests
How innovative and creative you remain
How many times you laugh in a day
Assess yourself, if not satisfactory,
Apply more and more of what is learnt
At the same learn more and more
What is the syllabus
It is for you decide
As you are the examiner
You are the taught
You are the student
You are the evaluator
You are the Vice Chancellor of your Life University
Set the syllabus yourself
Check then and there how far you are covering
Fail not to apply, whatever is learnt
What happens if you fail
You will remain where you are, not an inch ahead you can move
You become stagnated and start stinking
No one will be there near
No one play with you, laugh or cry with you
You will not be special, but a specimen
You will have life, but really, are dead
People say
Learn to Live
Let us change that a bit
Live to learn
As life is a school
and learning is living

Open Minds, Eyes, Ears and 'Dialogue
Making attempts,
To reach back for times...
That should have long been lived,
And put into existence THEN...
Will not do a thing for you 'now'.
And you were told that,
When those times then...
Were behind the times!
Just like a season or a holiday missed,
That has gone...
Think of your mind like that.
Something once here...
But now has gone.
Remember when you were teaching me,
And others a lesson by ignoring our suggestions?
Remember you made it a point to tell your friends,
You wish I'd learned how to mind my business...
And live my life,
Since you knew more about yours?
Well...
You should have seen these days,
We now live.
You and others like you...
Are the only ones asking, 'What is happening? '
Open minds, eyes, ears and 'dialogue'...
Should have revealed that to you!
And you were right...
I have learned to mind my own business.
As The World Turns,
I have One Life To Live...
To remain Bold and Beautiful.
And no more will I be giving my time,
To those who are Young and Restless...
In their minds.
I am not living for that kind of drama!

A Sign Of My Times
A SIGN OF MY TIMES
Edward Iacona
While walking through the shopping mall
Just because I was bored.
I looked at all the things on sale,
That I could not afford.
There were signs upon some items,
On sale that enticed to buy.
Showing both the price that 'WAS' and now 'IS'
That caught my thoughtful eye.
Those signs show one the savings
But to my saddened point of view,
Within the depths of my real life,
The opposite is also true.
There was a marriage, home and family,
With ups and downs galore.
A union of love and soul mates
But what 'WAS'....'IS' no more.

The Kids That Changed My Life
when you are walking down the street or
in your highschool or college
or just driving to work and see a disabled person
wheelchair or not
don't feel sorry or petty them cause
they would not change or take away there disability
because it has made who they are today
but when you are thinking about having your own kids
here are some interesting facts
one in one hundred fifty kids are born with some type of Autism
one in one hundred eighty have one of the four types of c Palsy
one in one thousand have Down Syndrome
you have a 10% chance in having a disabled kid
even if you nor your partner have a disability
scary?
I don't think so
my life was changed by
one of those “disabled” kids
Sarah Carter
she is one of the smartest people I know
and funniest
I have ever met in my life
I would have never known getting to know
Sarah and the other students in the class
would have change my life or
because of Sarah and the other students
I had found my destiny
getting to know them was the best decision I will ever make
they have made me believe
that the most amazing people that you’ll find in the oddest places
or when you don’t expect
when I grow up I want to have a big family and
within that family I want a physically disabled child of my own
because the most powerful people are the ones that have to fight for life
those kids that were all my age
have shown me that being disabled can be a good thing or a bad thing
in all depends all on how you look at it
so thank you Sarah thank you Monica thank you Kurtis
thank you Kelsey thank you Anna-Karen thank you Cris
thank you Violet thank you Jasmin thank you Robert
and thank you to all the staff that made the classroom
that the kids that changed my life to go to school
because with out you
my life would still be at a dead end
and I wouldn’t have discovered that kids my own age
could change my life

Because We Are In Love
We as human beings always fear of death
Although there are scary times in life
That we do pass through humbling by
There are times that make us die while we are still alive
There are aches in life make us die
Yet every single second thousands and thousands of times
But what is that great reason that keeps us hung up to life so tight
Still makes me admire
Even in our hardest times we never give up trying
We stand up to continue living
Even when we are down in knees
Ah incredible we are, we human beings
We are in love with life
We are the real heroes
Because even though all these wars, around
With all these heart aches
We still try to put on a smile
Disregarding our tearing hearts inside
We keep trying to fix the disasters surrounded us
Even though we know there's no possibility but we never lose faith
We repute ant gather our broken parts together
We insist to survive just because we are the real heroes of this life
Yes we are strong enough to survive living
Because we are in love with this life.

For Everyone The Life Journey
For everyone the life journey is different though a journey that for all of us must end
Along the way we meet some who do not like us But we also do make many a good friend
And on the journey we learn many lessons we've been learning from life since before we did crawl
And every day we live in life for us a lesson and that applies to you and me and all
And on our life journey we make many mistakes and for every one of them some price to pay
But we must struggle onwards towards the finish and every dawning for us a new day
For many life's road more uphill than downhill it is a hard journey to undertake
We have the good days and we have the bad days and every dawn to a new challenge we wake
Tomorrow is another day they will tell you and tomorrow in it's own good time will come
But tomorrow will not be for everybody today's will be the last sunset for some
For every one of us life's journey is different so different for you as it is for me
And our thinking on most things are quite different we all look at life so very differently
For everyone the life journey has to end sometime but where or when we are not meant to know
For some it will end before they reach their prime years and for some when they are walking slow.
