Imagination
Like Alice through the looking glass
my study window reveals fantasies to me.
The changing seasons come and go
with strangers rushing to and fro,
yet I remain steadfast through all
to watch and listen as the seasons
come and linger for a while outside.
I am no prisoner being watchful from a cell,
just a person by a window sits
and dreams of many lives to lead
much more adventurous than my own.
From cowboy to astronaut,
I am who I want to be.
My adventures can be in the past
and far into the future be
or wherever my imagination
wants to transport me.
I can be whatever it chooses,
from a man to a beast,
a good guy or a bad guy,
a cat or maybe even a rat
or even a fish deep under the sea.
I am at the hands of my imagination,
then like toys when day is done
I gather up my adventures and put them away
to keep for another day of dreaming
that will again inspire me

Where Do All My Friends Go?
When lightning strikes and we are sleeping
When everyone around is dreaming
When children arent children no more
When parents arent behind the door
When footballs over and the beers gone
When t.v. set no longer turns on
(tell me where my friends go)
If I could float and drift forever
Id join the shattered dreams together
Id spy upon the disbelievers
And scatter them into the seasons
When winter comes Id keep on moving
To fill the cup of understanding
Id fly...to hidden places in the sky
(tell me where my friends go)
(chorus)
My hesitation - is strong today
The indications - all point away
To something better - for everyone
Has something gone astray
Ill follow you until I die
With outstretched arms into the sky
When all is aid and come undone
The words will come, the words will come
Well chase the ghosts into the shadows
The spectres watch through every window
Well run like dogs and jump the fences
And howl at men behind their faces
Well bark at night and wake the neighbors
And tell the world of our adventures
(tell me where my friends go)
(chorus)
My revelations - have lost control
My better judgement - has gone away
Our evolution is full of holes
Has something gone astray
(tell me where our friends go)

A Time Machine Mind!
Human mind, dreams, vision and imagination
Can transport one forward and backward in time.
Mind is the time machine to go to past and future
But time never goes backward but only forward;
Also, time never goes in circle but only straight!
Recollection of past is possible in the present;
Visualization of future is possible in the present;
But one cannot go to the past or future ever now!
Hour glass can show the time like clock of today
But it cannot bring back the past to reality now
Or bring to our vision the future of world now!
Mind is the time machine that can read history;
Mind is the same machine to see the future too;
But time never goes to the past but only to future!

Imaginary Choices
Imaginary!
I can imagine your blessed innocence,
You muse and speculate in your imagination.
Ahh, what a relief to believe that I truly have a choice in this!
Your imagination gives me hope.
Your certainty strong,
Your judgment steadfast.
If I had your imagination, I could blush at my silliness
Give myself a swift kick and stern reproach.
They are just choices you know!
Here in the safety and innocence of your imagination.
Whence did that deviant despair blow back into my soul?
Now I’m feeling sad, a lightly sort of pout
Tuck me back in your steadfast imagination.
For my hope has run dry it seems it was only imaginary.

Outside Your Window
Outside Your Window;
And in the hands of fate:
I feel the seconds slowly pass,
Whilst you I anxiously await.
And behind the glowing glass;
I glimpsed a fading candlelight.
And I with hope was filled and so:
Wished I for love and life this night.
Outside Your Window;
And in the hands of fate:
I see through the looking glass,
To find my missing soulmate.
And when the light finally flew;
When darkness swamped the room:
A wide smile on my face drew;
And waited I for you to bloom.
Outside Your Window;
And in the hands of fate:
I feel my feelings all amass,
As I your beauty contemplate.
Seconds felt forever;
Nor beauty I did see.
All alone my eyes did glitter;
Whilst wondering where you would be!
Outside Your Window;
And in the hands of fate:
I walked on in your impasse;
Wishing it's not yet too late.
Outside Your Window;
And in the hands of fate:
I lonesome stood for long alas!
And didn't notice your window grate.
Outside Your Window;
And in the hands of fate:
I tried to drag out of that morass,
Myself; and my lost senses locate.
Outside Her Window;
And in the hands of fate:
I watched my heart swiftly by a lass,
Gets stolen; and did my soul sedate.
Outside Her Window;
I still pass by everyday.
Outside Her Window;
I can't just turn and walk away.
Outside Her Window;
I still have hope that she might show.
Outside Her Window;
I watch my life pass by so slow.
Outside Your Window;
And in the hands of fate:
I once awaited you alone all night.
But now I know: it's just too late!

Winds Of Seasons With Hands Of Hope
i hear the wind
by the wind sound
talking to the waves
with a wind sound
mounted upon the leaves
on the ground
to wind through
and around the leaves proudly
as it runs through me so loudly
and mannered towards me so gladly
to sing a song
by the winds of seasons
as they change in seasons
and cheer in different joy
i feel the wind under me
i can see the sun shine over me
i can walk along the path to sober me
and sleep around the hands on me
to hold me with hands of hope
as all hands do matter
to hold each soul
with hope
today and the days ever
to let the hands of hope
touch my heart
and cleanse me for yet a season
in winds of seasons

The Case Of The Window Pain
an astute answer
discerning shrewd
would surely mention
this wit must be
personification
of a window pane
as for the window pain
perhaps the window is shamed
perhaps the window is dirty
as for the window pain
perhaps the glass is cracked
small large cracks streaked
as for the window pain
perhaps cricket ball punctured
victim of circle game holed
as for the window pain
perhaps the window is broken
glass shards bear crime witness
as for the window pain
perhaps window frame rots
an old window in house derelict
as for the window pain
perhaps the window witnesses
child abuse domestic scenes violent

Your Imagination
Lyrics & music: daryl hall
I remember when i used to be the jealous kind
I got over it, now you're taking over my old line
You're caring too much about what i say
You're wondering too much about what i do
And baby, your imagination
Imagination's got the best of you
I ain't doin' nothing that you could really say was wrong
Just one oversight and no that didn't last too long
Listen, you're caring too much about what i say
You're wondering too much about what i do
And baby, your imagination
Imagination's got the best of you
Don't know what you're looking for
What's this thing about "true blue"
You know i ain't no danger boy
You're the one i like to touch, touch you, you
When the mood is right, change the light and the moment's gone
Better turn around, 'cause the light doesn't last too long
You're caring too much about what i say
You're wondering too much about what i do
And baby, your imagination
Imagination's got the best of you
Imagination, your imagination
Imagination, use your imagination.

Cobwebs in My Mind
You can lead a horse to water,
but you cannot make it drink.
I lead my pen to paper,
but it refuses to write.
My pen is not empty,
but I feel my imagination is
and I wonder if
I have run out of steam.
The world is filled with wondrous things
that my minded refuses to think about.
Once upon a time
my imagination gushed from my pen,
now it’s only a trickle
and only now and then.
I sit here at my desk
and look out the window
at the wind blowing the trees.
Maybe if I stood outside
it might blow away
the cobwebs in my mind.

Imagination is the sixth sense
Without the help of imagination,
The future and the past cannot be seen;
Similes and metaphors are meaningless.
Parts under the clothes cannot be x-rayed.
Images from the screen cannot be fantasized.
Thinking and musing are stalled.
Judgments and beliefs are out of preview.
No intuition; no speculation.
Imagination is man's sixth sense.

Odyssey of the Soul
Childhood falls
Suffocated by lies
Promises of tomorrow
Trade the dreams of today
Consumer chase begins
A little piece of beauty
Sacrificed to adulthood
Wonder, Imagination
Don’t leave me now
Vanishing days
Carelessly slip away
Time and tide dispels
All childlike things
Life becomes dimmer
Too old for fun
Fun is fun it’s ageless
It is just fun, and its free
Maturity, yes maturity
Ever seen the world
Is this maturity?
I must act my age
My spirit rises before me
So many seasons, so much time
Eyes searching for a sign
Doesn’t anyone realise
Mistaken we equate childishness
For the gift of being childlike
Age straps on the chains
We become a worldling
Stolen childhood, silently
Lost Along the way
Childlike observations
Were not meant to wither
Imagination crushed by facts
Dreaming dreams, just dreams
Dreams worth coming true
This too will pass, with age
Who would have thought
walking between rain drops
would become silly
Capturing the frosted
Cobwebs on a twig
restricted to the young
Imagination, imagination
when did it happen
was I distracted
full of self wisdom
unaware that now begins
the oddyssey of the soul
the long trek home
to my Father’s arms

Why Pull The Blind?
reading can be a window
through which the mind sees
startling bright new images
comprehends amazing ideas
the gift of vibrant imagination
is another looking glass window
into morals fables ideals truth
so why tell children to pull the blind?

Changing Of The Seasons
Oh the changing of the seasons it's a pretty thing to see
And though I find this balmy weather pleasin'
There's the wind come from tomorrow and I hear it callin' me
And I'm bound for the changing of the seasons
Oh it's blowin' in Chicago and it's snowin' up in Maine
And the Islands to the south are warm and sunny
And I've got to feel the earth shake and I gotta feel the rain
And I've got to know a taste of more than honey
So don't ask me where I'm goin' or how long I'm gonna be away
Don't make me give you all the hollow reasons
I'll think of you like summer and I might be back some day
When my heart miss the changing of the seasons
Oh it's blowin' in Chicago...
[ guitar ]
Oh it's nothing that you said and it ain't nothing that you done
And I wish I could explain you why I'm leavin'
But there's some men need the winter and there's some men need the sun
And there's some men need the changing of the seasons
Yeah it's blowin' in Chicago...

I Wait For the Rainbow
When my dreams
Like ship-wrecked paper boats
Get dashed in the streams of life
After a heavy rain
I cry.
When my loves
Like a transitory little sparrow
Leaves for the changing of seasons
Never to return
I sigh.
When my hopes
Like rushing sand in an hour glass
Slips through my fingers
About to be lost
I pray.
....then I wait for the rainbow.

Look Out Into The World Into An Immeasurable Space
look out beyond the window of your house
fly if you will
with the wings of your mind
penetrate the darkness of the night
and do not be blinded with the brighness
of your heydays
look out beyond the window of your own space
fly if you will
with the wings of your making
soar to the heights of your imagination
and find out what is really there
with the hands
of your present

It Must Be Imagination
by Kenny Loggins & Tom Snow
When the feeling isn't right
They say you see it in a lovers eye
But I'm wide awake tonight
'N I'm looking for a reason why
It doesn't show
Still somehow I know
Tell me that it just ain't so
Say I made the whole thing up
It must be imagination
Why can't I forget it
God, you'd think I'd know better
It must be imagination
Gone completely out of my mind
It must be imagination
Tearin' me apart
'N breakin' my heart
You can say what is real
You can tell me if I'm in a dream
'Cause I know what I feel
But I don't know what to believe
Turn on the night light
Even if it takes us all night
I gotta be sure by daylight
If I've made this whole thing up
It must be imagination
Tell me if I'm right
'Cause it's changing my life
It must be imagination
Everybody knows
There ain't no way to fight it
It must be imagination
Breakin' my heart
'N tearing me apart
If I'm only dreamin'
Then I'm cryin' in my sleep
You should be shakin' me
Why ain't you wakin' me up?
It must be imagination
God I must be losin' my mind
It must be imagination
Does anybody know
Is there anyway to fight it?
It must be imagination
All in my mind, all in my mind
It must be imagination
If you wanna go, I just got to know
It must be imagination
Oooh tell me what's the problem
Why you wanna go on breakin' my heart?

One can't rely on eyes, When Imagination is out of focus!
Eyes can't lie, as they are without
imagination.
When one perceives is hidden
behind cloud of his own
imagination,
How can a schizophrenic can recall who he is,
as seen by others! Mind and intellect when has their
own colours or have colour
blindness,
How can feel true colours of life? When imagination outfocus
senses,
When window is covered by
curtains,
How can one can look clearly at
the world? Room when fitted with filters
and deodarants,
How can one feel the enchanting
odour of soil on first rain fall?
What can be the beauty of
flower, or that flying butterfly to one
wearing coloured glass? When imagination fly above,
losing contact of ground,
The birds eye vision may be vast,
Yet lose minute details,
loses that nut and bolts which
can fit everything!
Never come to conclusion about
anyone,
Never allow prejudice to hold
your mind back,
Let imagination dance on solid
ground, Based on impartial observations!
Learn,
Every beautiful butterfly was
ugly, ever hungry worm before
its metamorphosis!

If You Believe
Time, of rise and fly, over me, to the sea,
Love is a pride, wait for me, wait for me,
If you believe in me,
I will believe in what will be,
We want the world youve only dreamed of,
Promise of the seasons,
Give us the future please,
Thats all we need of you.
Running in circles,
Desperate we hold to yours and mine,
Using my body,
Closing our hearts and eyes.
Oh no, open the door and let the wind blow,
Take my hand, together we stand in the eye of the hurricane.
If you believe in me
I will believe in what will be,
We want the world youve only dreamed of,
Promise of the seasons,
Give us the future please,
Thats all we need of you.
Every nation, every woman, child and man
Comes on a moment, where they must take a stand,
Oh no, forget what you know, just let the wind blow,
Blown apart, you open your heart, and thats where anything can be.
If you believe in me
I will believe in what will be,
We want the world youve only dreamed of,
Promise of our seasons,
Give us the future please,
Thats all we need of you.
Out of control, out of my mind, at last,
Into my dreams, we sailed away.
If you believe in me
I will believe in what will be,
We want the world youve only dreamed of,
Promise of our seasons,
Give us the future please,
Thats all we need of you.
Oh sing it children
(if you believe in me)
Got to believe
(I will believe in what will be,)
Tell 'em what you want
(we want the world youve only dreamed of,)
World youve only dreamed of
(promise of our seasons,)
(give us the future please, )
(thats all we need of you.)
If you believe in me
I will believe in what will be,
We want the world youve only dreamed of,
Promise of our seasons,
Give us the future please,
Thats all we need of you.

A World Of Our Own
As children when we played,
we created a world of our own.
We let our imagination take us
wherever we wanted to be.
One day we could be the super hero
rescuing the damsel in distress,
next day we could be a cowboy
riding along in the lonesome prairie.
Whatever we wanted to be
we could find it within our imagination.
A branch could be our rifle
as we played soldiers on parade
marching in front of some large crowd.
Every object that we touched
became whatever we wanted it to be
within that world of our own.
As we grew older
and reality crowed us in
some of us, retreated
and put pen to paper began to write.
Again, we let our imagination go
beginning with words;
we created a world of our own
as our visions of fantasy
danced around inside our head.
Taking us back to our childhood
and our imagination that we like to explore
in that wonderful state, we call
a world of our own.
