I Wait For the Rainbow
When my dreams
Like ship-wrecked paper boats
Get dashed in the streams of life
After a heavy rain
I cry.
When my loves
Like a transitory little sparrow
Leaves for the changing of seasons
Never to return
I sigh.
When my hopes
Like rushing sand in an hour glass
Slips through my fingers
About to be lost
I pray.
....then I wait for the rainbow.

Which Way Will You Go?
Falling leaves
Like fallen stars
Drift away like dreams
Memories fade away
Oceans sweep the sand
Growing older
More mistakes
Trying to reach wishes
Glass dreams break
When they hit the ground
Like loves lost
And lost loves
Scars decorate
Our past
Foot prints in the sand
Lead paths already taken
Will you make your own?
Which way will you go?

Turtledoves Now Cries
My findings are now lost in time
I will have to wait until next lifetime to find again
Gone now like the seasons
Dashed ashore by the tides of change to be smashed against the rocks of time
Gone out of my life love taken true
Winds beneath my sails are now calm as the sea in late July
My words of melancholy now fall on deaf ears
Sacrifice the moments gone bye
New days has dawned and behind left the soul of my true content
Ever more I should try before I die
Desists yet my wondering soul for I have lost true love gone bye
Wait no more for my heart has been plundered
My dreams dashed and pillaged I seek no more in vein
Trod on lonesome soldier for tomorrow was never promised to I
Left now are memories of days spent in my happiness
Disillusion is what I see for my tender years to come
Woe for I miss the days when life zest blossomed specially
Years so precious can never renew
Forged alliances now in dismay
The hour is upon us all now
No longer for the taking for turtledoves now cries

A Grain Of Sand
Life is like a grain of sand;
it can slip through your fingers
at any time and be lost forever.
We must enjoy every minute
while we have it
in case that too
slips through our fingers.
Love is a fleeting thing
that passes all too quickly through our lives
unless we grasp it tightly
never letting it go.
Our lives are like a grain of sand
and will slip through our fingers
before we get to enjoy it thoroughly.

Fantastic Dream
Hello today
Open your eyes
The snow is falling just like leaves
Aquarian warriors rebuild the ship
Mr rainbow is gone
Hello my love
Heres to your heart
Unfold the lillies in the deep
The seasons over, the shores are sealed
Now ashen roses rain on the fields
Innocent dreamers, look what youve done
Now its time for the phoenix to fly
Hello today
Wake to the dawn
To meet the guardians of the isles
The valient captains will rule the seas till the comets return
Hello my love
Heres to your heart
Release that dream into the world
Join in the air race, leaving tonite
How does it feel to follow the light
Beautiful dreamer, its up to you
If we glide through the glamour of love
We believe in our dreams
Reaching out for above
We believe in our dreams
Reaching out for love

Trains And Boats And Planes
Trains and boats and planes are passing by
They mean a trip to Paris or Rome
To someone else but not for me
The trains and boats and planes
Took you away, away from me
We were so in love, and high above
We had a star to wish upon. Wish
And dreams come true, but not for me
The trains and boats and planes
Took you away, away from me
You are from another part of the world
You had to go back a while and then
You said you soon would return again
I'm waiting here like I promised to
I'm waiting here but where are you?
Trains and boats and planes took you a way
But every time I see them I pray
And if my prayers can cross the sea
The trains and the boats and planes

if i heave a sigh, what will i do with what i did not heave?
if i heave a sigh
into the air, and i keep some other more inside myself,
unconsumed, unspent,
what will i do with it?
keep it
like a secret in my closed fingers and pretend i am angry
with this clenched fist
when in truth i have nothing
no plan of keeping things that long because my arms
my soon go
into the river and be lost floating like a log from a hill?
i heave a sigh, that is enough relief,
i am emptied of something heavy
in my nose
i become an island losing air
but keeping sand and
stones
to keep my balance with the coconut trees
still
making landmarks to lost directions,
but it is my way of making my senses alive
i heave a sigh
and i want you to really hear it at a very close distance
just you and me
for you to know where i have situated myself
in this vast
nothingness,
i am here, touch me,
i am warm, i am fire,
you have been taking the forms of water
cold, damp,
having the face of the night, where the moon lost its light,
what are you doing to me?
i am taking you but you are the one taking me nowhere
i am lost by your promises
of a raft
i lost track of your waft, and here i am lost again as i
heave a sigh, deeper
this time....

The Circle Game
Yesterday a child came out to wonder
Caught a dragonfly inside a jar
Fearful when the sky was full of thunder
And tearful at the falling of a star
Then the child moved ten times round the seasons
Skated over ten clear frozen streams
Words like, when youre older, must appease him
And promises of someday make his dreams
And the seasons they go round and round
And the painted ponies go up and down
Were captive on the carousel of time
We cant return we can only look behind
From where we came
And go round and round and round
In the circle game
Sixteen springs and sixteen summers gone now
Cartwheels turn to car wheels thru the town
And they tell him,
Take your time, it wont be long now
Till you drag your feet to slow the circles down
And the seasons they go round and round
And the painted ponies go up and down
Were captive on the carousel of time
We cant return we can only look behind
From where we came
And go round and round and round
In the circle game
So the years spin by and now the boy is twenty
Though his dreams have lost some grandeur coming true
Therell be new dreams, maybe better dreams and plenty
Before the last revolving year is through
And the seasons they go round and round
And the painted ponies go up and down
Were captive on the carousel of time
We cant return, we can only look behind
From where we came
And go round and round and round

A Glimpse of Life
A gust of
Autumn wind:
Leaves fly and drift
To their
Unknown destiny…
With sand
In my eyes,
I get a glimpse of
Changing
Seasons of life.

Paper Boats
Day by day I float my paper boats one by one down the running
stream.
In bid black letters I write my name on them and the name of
the village where I live.
I hope that someone in some strange land will find them and
know who I am.
I load my little boats with shiuli flower from our garden, and
hope that these blooms of the dawn will be carried safely to land
in the night.
I launch my paper boats and look up into the sky and see the
little clouds setting thee white bulging sails.
I know not what playmate of mine in the sky sends them down
the air to race with my boats!
When night comes I bury my face in my arms and dream that my
paper boats float on and on under the midnight stars.
The fairies of sleep are sailing in them, and the lading ins
their baskets full of dreams.

Imagination
Like Alice through the looking glass
my study window reveals fantasies to me.
The changing seasons come and go
with strangers rushing to and fro,
yet I remain steadfast through all
to watch and listen as the seasons
come and linger for a while outside.
I am no prisoner being watchful from a cell,
just a person by a window sits
and dreams of many lives to lead
much more adventurous than my own.
From cowboy to astronaut,
I am who I want to be.
My adventures can be in the past
and far into the future be
or wherever my imagination
wants to transport me.
I can be whatever it chooses,
from a man to a beast,
a good guy or a bad guy,
a cat or maybe even a rat
or even a fish deep under the sea.
I am at the hands of my imagination,
then like toys when day is done
I gather up my adventures and put them away
to keep for another day of dreaming
that will again inspire me

Broken Hearts
Two hearts joined
In the fate of love
Two hearts break
In the wings of a dove
One heart still loves
Still hopes, Still dreams
One heart hurts
One heart Screams
The heart that loves
Still hopes, Still dreams
That's my heart
Torn at the seams
The heart that hurts
The one that screams
That's his heart
Torn at the seams
Two hearts lost
A beloved lil dream
The hurt the pain
A never ending dream
The heart that's his
Threw it away
The love, The affection
An eventful day
Two hearts joined
But ripped and torn
Just as violent
As a winter storm
One heart still loves
Still hopes, Still dreams
To one day fix his
and sew up the seams
But one heart still hurts
Still cries, Still screams
That's his heart
With no more dreams
A heart confused
A heart in pain
That's his heart
A heart with no gain
Two hearts broken
Ripped at the seams
But two hearts Joined
Forever in their dreams
My heart hopes
That his heart sees
The love we share
Was meant to be
My heart waits
For his to return
My heart hopes
That his will learn
That my heart and his
......Were meant to be

The Empty Boats
Why do I see these empty boats, sailing on airy seas?
One haunted me the whole night long, swaying with every breeze,
Returning always near the eaves, or by the skylight glass:
There it will wait me many weeks, and then, at last, will pass.
Each soul is haunted by a ship in which that soul might ride
And climb the glorious mysteries of Heaven's silent tide
In voyages that change the very metes and bounds of Fate —
O empty boats, we all refuse, that by our windows wait!

Go Tell The Drummer Man
Silver drums, rhythms that he hums
Waltzing dogs, that come when he calls
Plans for one he keeps in a coffer
What can I offer, I dont know
Can I bring him love words to sing him
Like some foolish magi
Ill be gone and words in a song
Wont even last till sunrise
Go tell the drummer man
The time glass is out of sand
Ask him to understand
And wait for me, and wait for me
Streets and parks
Waltzes in the dark
Lovers now, when time will allow
An afternoon, the kind to believe in
Why am I leaving? I dont know
Distant places, just empty spaces
Till we are together
What can I bring, time leaves me nothing
I wonder will it ever.
Go tell the drummer man
The time glass is out of sand
Ask him to understand
And wait for me, and wait for me
Silver birds fly away like words
In the wind, and soon Ill be in
Another world
The land of without him
Whats it about, this other world
Go tell the drummer man
The time glass is out of sand
Ask him to understand
And wait for me, and wait for me

Look At Life
(sylvester / clarke)
Look at life, take a look around you
Look at life, doesnt it astound you
See the colors of the sky
Watch the colors of a rainbow
Were so lucky, you and i
Look at life
Its there for us
So why dont we use it
Four seasons of the year
All you do is choose it
Warm summers bring the sun,
And with the falling leaves the autumn
All the new things come with spring
Look at life
Warm summers bring the sun,
And with the falling leaves we get the autumn,
The autumn
You see a young boy pick a flower
Why does he do it
He picks it for the one he loves
Thats why he does it
He sees the colors of the sky,
Watches the colors of a rainbow
Were so lucky, you and i
Look at life
Look at life look at life look at life
Look at life look at life look at life

Empty Paper Cups
i do not wish to be great,
to turn and bow on the final stage.
i have no desire to be the train,
just a common plank on the track.
i do not brandish light for the blind,
i walk among shadows without a noise.
my name could be key, wellhouse, or pump...
my voice the sound of a sparrow hatched.
i taste like old trees,
and rain falling from a rusted gutter.
i've had long conversations with dogs,
walked window ledges with cats.
i know the stories of old tires,
i've hung my hat on rusted nails.
i pray in the moonlight with spiders,
and sing praises to the ants.
i am the lick of the tongue,
the bent finger stroking your eyes.
i come rushing like the wind,
leaving stray leaves and empty paper cups!

Permanence
Set within a desert lone,
Circled by an arid sea,
Stands a figure carved in stone,
Where a fountain used to be.
Two abraded, pleading hands
Held below a shapeless mouth,
Human-like the fragment stands,
Tortured by perpetual drouth.
Once the form was drenched with spray,
Deluged with the rainbow flushes;
Surplus water dashed away
To the lotus and the rushes.
Time was clothed in rippling fashion,.
Opulence of light and air,
Beauty changing into passion
Every hour and everywhere.
And the yearning of that race
Was for something deep and tender,
Life replete with power, with grace,
Touched with vision and with splendour.
Now no rain dissolves and cools,
Dew is even as a dream,
The enticing far-off pools
In a mirage only seem.
All the traces that remain,
Of the longings of that land,
Are two hands that plead in vain
Filled with burning sand.

Be the Rainbow
Always been ahead of yourself
Self assured and bold
Took the traning wheels off your bike
When you were only four years old
Anxious to grow up
And to taste of life and such
Now it seems too early
You've tasted way too much
Pretty soon your life will change
You'll have another chance
A time to learn and rearange
A time to laugh and dance
If your eyes are open wide
As you step into the world again
Maybe you will find
That you can be your own best friend
Be the rainbow that follows rain
Be the world that keeps on turning
Changing night time into day
You can make the good things happen
You can find that better way
Be the rainbow that follows rain
Life can be confusing
So many whys and whats
But you got determination girl
And God knows you got guts
Don't let it get you down
When you feel that you're getting nowhere
Take a look around
Cause there's an awful lot of love out there
Be the rainbow that follows rain
Be the world that keeps on turning
Changing night time into day
You can make the good things happen
You can find that better way
Be the rainbow that follows rain
