Intimidation
Getting shrunk like a shrinking violet
Too stiffened by a fearful Self
Lost opportunities she cannot get
She is one dusty jar on a shelf.
Secure in that musty four walls
Of her cabinet shelf she finds comfort
Unable to find her life purpose at all
Stifled her chances by low self-worth.
Intimidation is what keeps her fenced
Tapes her mouth shut she cannot speak
Deafens her ears, her mind is silenced
Success is something that she fails to seek.

Do you wanna stand in a line
Fightin' hard to hold on to your mind

Find and you'll seek
Just keep on helpin? yourself
When the wind of trouble comes
Put away your battledrums
And stand up and fight

Centre Of Attention (Fun Poem 41)
You will find wherever you go
someone who wants to be
the centre of attention.
Personally, it is not a road
I want to go down.
Myself I would rather be the shrinking violet,
the one sat on the shelf.
Unfortunately, the more I try to hide,
the more obvious I become.
Therefore, I am marched down to centre stage,
so someone can have some fun,
but as I am a fun loving person,
I'll play along with them.
I don’t mind being the stooge,
whom they can poke fun at.
After all, I’m only a short six foot three inches tall.
Therefore, they have a little bit to poke fun at.
Then the people start laughing,
well let me tell you now.
Laughter is magic to my ears,
it mean people are happy,
and I like that sound,
even if they are laughing at me.
Laughter is good medicine;
it helps so many lose their blues.
Therefore, if I get called upon,
to a place I don’t want to be,
so long as someone gets a laugh,
that is all that matters to me.

Falling Short Of Directions....
the road to patience is long and winding
say it over and over again
sometimes it leads us nowhere
there are dead ends
of our hoping
(and what shall
you do? you weep
alone and keep on talking
to yourself?)
you get feed up with lots of
my comforting
words, the poems, the chat,
and the
directions on what to do next
where to go,
they do not comfort you at all
all these long distance affections
but there is something that must comfort you
more, and make you perhaps
understand what this world is all about
everyone is lost
all hands are groping in the dark feeling only walls and walls
there is no light yet
the sound of rushing water deafens us
there are rocks higher than life
existing more than our
lifetime
always there
dead and cold and dark
there are traces in the sands
of some footsteps erased by the wind
not fossils
that still tell us what really happened
there is this comforting joy
we all are
and that makes us all
lost tribes, silenced by death
hoping not to be ever thrown again
like seeds that begin anew
on the first sprout
of another misery
handed from
bud to bud....

Long Life
Baby , you told me your life is wrong
And theres no sense in seeing it through
But Ive got my eyes open all the time
And Ive been waiting for you
Dont try to tell me its over
You cant believe it yourself
Just put your hand on my shoulder
And dry all your tears, take your heart off the shelf
cause its a long life and well worth the living
You still got your heart and its well worth the giving
Give yourself to me
Just you and me
Im just a guy from outside your world
And theres no words that I can say
But Ive got a feeling that youre the girl
To take all my love and just run away
Dont try to tell me its over
You cant believe it yourself
Just put your hand on my shoulder
And dry all your tears , take your heart off the shelf
cause its a long life and well worth the living
You still got your heart and its well worth the giving
Give yourself to me
Just you and me
(break)
Dont try to tell me its over
You cant believe it yourself
Just put your hand on my shoulder
And dry all your tears, take your heart off the shelf
cause its a long life and well worth the living
You still got your heart and its well worth the giving
Give yourself to me
Just you and me
cause its a long life and well worth the living
A long life and well worth the living
Its a long life

A Poetic Something
I think I am a poet
therefore I'm lying to myself
in just a line I saw it
just lying on the shelf
I reached for it
It moved out of reach
those words I knew
those words my mind grew
Unable to jot down
a mute to speak out
unable, unable it rocks
strange sounds, broken cradle
stop rocking, its unstable
now across the dinner table
I see it, I saw it
should I move towards it?
Turn back, just ignore it
now it follows
astounding, I have no use for it
it gives permission for those words
it writes, it reads ‘Hi'
Oh you got to be kidding

Jack-In-The-Box
Hi, I'm God. It's dark, lonely and quiet in here, now,
On this dusty shelf.
No more children to come and twist me to life;
I used to thrive at that,
Popping out and making them laugh!
Now, nothing.
But yesterday, something-
A mouse came by and straddled my handle:
If only it he had pulled down...
I could have given it a terrible fright.
But now the silent night;
And my red and white striped shirt keeps me not a bit warm.
I long for the sun to flow on the shelf;
I wish I could play with myself,
But I am without hands;
Only the hope to be seen by a passing boy,
Who will be curious,
Who will think I'm only a toy.

All of us can think of a book... that we hope none of our children have taken off the shelf. But if I have the right to remove that book from the shelf -that work I abhor- then you also have exactly the same right and so does everyone else. And then we have no books left on the shelf for any of us.

Shut my Mouth
There are those whom wish
I would just shut my mouth.
For my words cut them to
the bone when I speak of
an abuse child. Or a person
drowning in the sea of his or
her own addiction. They real
wish I would shut my mouth when
I speak of equality for all. Also when
talk about suffrage one goes through
from AIDS, Cancer to Death. I done had my
words crumbled in thrown back in my face.
I have been given looks as if they want to shove
my words back down my throat until I choked on them.
But for all those who want me to shut my mouth I have
got three times as many who want me to speak.
So speak I will. As long as I got something to say I will speak.
And only when I don’t have anymore to say is when I will
Shut My Mouth.
Toys
First unwrapped, each thinks itself best
prettiest, priciest, diciest,
to dress and undress.
Every year come more and more-
bumped from the shelf, they fall to the floor
and lay still.
Or get dropped
a purple while in the dark box,
musty, dusty, worn-out toys.
Only a few: the favorites,
peer year upon year, from the cabinets
unblinking, smiling.

The afterthought
The afterthought
~
The poetry section in the library, an afterthought
A little over fifteen books thrown onto a shelf
Amongst books of quotations and how to write
Books about books and sporting anecdotes
It seems poetry here is consigned to obscurity
A disappointing assessment of literature
A few of the named greats, a few anthologies
The favourite love poems, poems on war
A three quarter shelf collection if at all
Perhaps it’s a sign of the times changing
Modern life being unable to relate anymore
To the notions and thoughts of poetic lore
The pace picked up so long ago
The gentle stroll now a sprinting run
No more stopping to smell the air
The need to be someplace doing something
Everything else consigned to the shelf
Like a mirror reflecting the new world
The poetry of life has become an afterthought

Broken Time
Lost track of time
Can´t figure out what u say
Maybe i´ve lost my mind
I can´t just erase and rewind
Needing some time to think
Even tho I can hardly remember
How it can be done
Looking behind me, I´ve left no footprints
On the sand, can´t discover where it begun
Lost track of time
Can´t figure where my life is headed to
Maybe i´ve lost myself
I can´t just dust my old self off that dusty shelf
Needing some time to breathe
Start it all over again
Looking behind me, my feet feel no pain
Can´t realize where it all truly stands
Lost track of time
The clock isn´t ticking anymore,
So i´ll just walk past that rusty door

Your Inner Self
Find your own inner self
Please don't leave it on a shelf
Let yourself just go
So that you won't feel all alone
Everyday is new
Just do what you do
Just be yourself always
For the rest of your days
Just be your own best friend
This will work until the end
Forever be yourself
Don't leave you on a shelf

Words
To speak, is to think - Exist.
We presume.
Throw around.
These exquisite realizations - Sounds.
Sounds, zounds! !
Composed all around.
To secure our thought.
A world made of noise.
Meaningless afterthought.
Justification of self.
To drown the other.
I wonder...
What other?
What self?
What cost?
Price, is it to be purchased?
Can one truly exist, if left alone?
Our meaning thus.
To build-up proof.
Memory - of us.
Present the evidence, on worth.
Where none otherwise.
Might be found.
Searching for Me.
Meaning and life.
Within the Valley.
Of the Shadow of Death.
Hoping to find.
Capture it.
Before It reaches out.
Buries me.
Into darkness.
Velvet mist.
So I wonder, my purpose.
Seek, if a soul could be found.
Its value discovered.
Bit-by-bit.
A letter, at a time - I plead.
Seek, for existence meek.
Some discovered, some lost.
Was to all, mischievously bound.
Thought to myself...
A purgatory, to endure.
Justify that heavenly joy.
Has it been earned or lost?
Without knowing - Without care.
Was my preaching.
Pathos, for naught?
Alas! ! !
What is life?
But bandying empty words.
In an hourglass...

You've Got It Bad Girl
When you believe in a feeling,
And it's holding you back from my love,
Then you've got it bad girl, you've got it bad girl.
When you insist on excluding
The tenderness that's in my kiss,
Then you've got it bad girl, you've got it bad girl.
If you try to display an emotion,
That will contradict itself,
You will find your heart just sitting
Like a statue on a shelf, on a shelf, on a shelf.
Should you depend on an outlet,
Through which an escape can be found,
Then you've got it bad girl, you've got it bad girl.
If you don't see there's no way out,
Just no way of getting around me,
Then you've got it bad girl, you've got it bad girl.
Yes, you know the plans i am making,
Are intended to capture you,
So you practice false reactions,
To delay the things i do, the things i do,
Things i do, foolish you.
You've got it bad girl, you've got it bad.
There's no reward in detouring
My deep sincerity.
Especially since what you're feeling,
Is perfectly clear to me, clear to me, clear to me.
Before you discover the feeling,
You've tried very hard to hide,
You've got it bad girl, you've got it bad girl.
But when you can find just a small space,
To let my love live in your mind,
Then you'll have it good girl, you'll have it good girl.

Not Suicide
I've been hurt and I've felt deep pain
But suicide wasn't ever my gain
To think that someone has no other choice
Please know I care, let me be your voice
I've been pretty down and very low
Thought about it myself, would be such a blow
To people who I loved and people who care
They would blame themselves, think they caused their share
You're hurting now over some lost love
Find your self another, that you can be proud of
I can't see the future, I'm only human I know
But killing yourself is no way to go
They are not worth you feeling so sad
Continue your life and you will be glad
Maybe they really aren't worth your time
Out of the darkness you will climb
Never love another more than yourself
Or you'll find yourself sitting on a lonely shelf!

Lost To Find My Lot
Lost in a world, that scares me to death,
Lost in a crowd I’m losing my breath,
Lost as a kid, lost as an adult
I feel everything is falling apart and its my fault
Lost as a person, cant find my way
Lost in life every day, Lost in worry
Who am I?
I’ve lived a Lie
Lost to Kindness,
Lost to Love
Lost in the sky,
Like a lonely dove
Lost in thought which I shouldn’t do
It Winds me up,
I can’t get through
Lost to comfort all kind words
Lost to advice that isn’t heard
Lost to those who really care?
All these people always there
Lost in Me, I need a break
Lost in wonder which road should I take?
Lost in a place I don’t know well
Where are you now? There’s no one to tell
Lost here all alone To break these walls
Lost in mind
Lost in soul
Lost memories, there just a hole
Lost family, lost my place
Still yet I’m full of hate
Lost in boredom think I’ll leave
There’s a lot in life I need to achieve

Speak To Me
Speak to me when you're feeling alone
Hurt or lost you're thrown
Speak to me when all else fails
And nobody seem to listen
Speak to me when I'm the one you trust
Speak to me I'm all ears
Have no fears
I'm listens
Don't hold back
I won't attack

Life's crossroads
When one finds
Himself
Stuck at life’s
Crossroads
One feels perplexed
And anxious to the core
Unable to decide
What to do?
Where to go?
Unable to decide
Eyes keep
Looking all around
Looking for a soul
Who can guide
And
Lead to the path of
Success
Put a stop to the turmoil
Give peace to the
Restless mind

My Beautiful Refuge
It has gone quite.
Where did everybody go.
Oh alone in this world.
An understanding with a promise.
A sacrifice with a price.
Straight through the gates hell.
Locked captive forever to be held.
Their is no key.
Their is no way to be free.
Four solid brick walls.
Their closing in.
Their shrinking.
And I'm suffocating.
Accepting and almost enjoying every minute of it.
A sickly need to be by myself.
Hiding my heart high upon a shelf.
I need it for nothing else.
Solitude oh my beautiful refuge.
