Life

To see in everyone I met
My little struggling self,

Always trying to do its best
Ever trusting who we are
Every day for us something new
Open minded for a diffrent view

Now never caring for what they new
This key of life I did forget
Upon a dusty shelf
Now it rests.

It's More Than Something You Can Intellectualize

There's a lot more to caring than knowing
There's a lot more to caring than saying
There's a lot more to caring than thinking
You can 'know' you care
Think you care
Convince yourself you care, even think that you genuinely care
But that really isn't fair
If your actions don't match
The attitude of caring
The attitude of loving
It's more

It's more than those who love you
More than those who care for you
It's the ones who don't
It's the ones you don't know
It's those, it's them, they need you most
You can't just walk away
Caring is more than something you can think about
You can't be compassionate and ignore a need
You can't fulfill every need
Where is compassion?

Where is caring?
If it's so much more, what is it that we have?
Is it worth trying?
Won't you fail?

But you forget
Caring is more

It's more than something you can intellectualize
It's more than a concept
It's more than thinking
More than knowing
More than even an action
Caring is a lifestyle
For all those around you
Even beyond yourself

O and one more thing caring isn't about caring about
Yourself.

Further Than You

Come to wind, carry it from the sun.
Come to rain, turns up the corners of my mouth.
And I like this wide open view
But Im not looking further than you
Come to stranger, wants to know my name.
Come tomorrow, I still feel the same.
And I like this wide open view
But Im not looking further than you
Oh, on a day like this you can see forever but thats okay.
And I like this wide open view
But Im not looking further than you
Come to moon, floating like a fish.
Come to first star, whod have thought itd come to this.
And I like this wide open view
But Im not looking further than you
And I like this wide open view
But Im not looking further than you

Jack-In-The-Box

Hi, I'm God. It's dark, lonely and quiet in here, now,
On this dusty shelf.
No more children to come and twist me to life;
I used to thrive at that,
Popping out and making them laugh!
Now, nothing.

But yesterday, something-
A mouse came by and straddled my handle:
If only it he had pulled down...
I could have given it a terrible fright.
But now the silent night;
And my red and white striped shirt keeps me not a bit warm.
I long for the sun to flow on the shelf;
I wish I could play with myself,
But I am without hands;
Only the hope to be seen by a passing boy,
Who will be curious,
Who will think I'm only a toy.

Soon As I Get Home

Written & composed: charlie smalls
Music: charlie smalls
Theres a feeling here inside.
That I cannot hide, and I know Ive tried,
But its turning me around.
Im not sure that Im aware
If Im up or down, or here or there
I need both feet on the ground.
Maybe Im just going crazy,
Letting myself get up-tight;
Im acting just like a baby,
But im- gonna be-Im gonna be allright!
Soon as I get home
Soon as I get home
Soon as I get home
In a diffrent place, in a diffrent time,
Differrent people around me-
I would like to know of that diffrent world
And how diffrent they find me
And just whats a wiz, is it big?
Will it scare me?
If I ask to leave, will the wiz even hear me?
How will I know then-
If Ill ever get home again?
Here I am alone, though it feels the same,
I dont know where Im going;
Im here on my own, and its not a game,
And now a strange wind is blowing
Im so amazed at the things that I see here,
Dont want to be afraid,
I just dont wanna be here;
In my mind this is clear,
What am I doing here?
I wish I was home.

I Love All Men Who Think '! (victor Hugo)

That's a smart thing to say,
And it is a clever point of view !
When we listen, to what a person has to say,
And are attracted, as to a bird's –eye view!

Some deny, and don't listen at all,
But only the behalf of a half, and nothing else!
Others are occupied with themselves,
And don't appreciate what you think , at all,

If you are open minded, and do believe,
That everyone has what to say,
You can write a smart book and achieve,
And Never, get your hair grey!

Intimidation

Getting shrunk like a shrinking violet
Too stiffened by a fearful Self
Lost opportunities she cannot get
She is one dusty jar on a shelf.

Secure in that musty four walls
Of her cabinet shelf she finds comfort
Unable to find her life purpose at all
Stifled her chances by low self-worth.

Intimidation is what keeps her fenced
Tapes her mouth shut she cannot speak
Deafens her ears, her mind is silenced
Success is something that she fails to seek.

Different Finger

Please put your rings on a diffrent finger if you meet me tonight
cause I cant stand those suspicious glances
cause I know the things theyre saying are right
Theyre saying why dont you straighten up
And see what youve got to lose
Put it all down to fate but you still got the chance to choose
I dont want to hear your whole life story
Or about my strange resemblance to some old flame
All I want is one night of glory
I dont even know your second name
Please put your rings on a diffrent finger cause weve got so much at stake
I cant stand those suspicious glances
cause they seem to cover evry move I make
But if I can be alone with you completely tonight
Put your rings on a diffrent finger
Before I turn out the light

What Music Means To Me (Part.1 / 4)

I love music. Without music I would be nothing. Music is apart of my soal & personality. For me music comes naturally. I dont have to think to hard to come up with a song or tune. Music comes to me in plenty of diffrent ways. Like voice, movement, nature, instruments, and beliefs. No sound is alike, each one is diffrent..........

I Might-and I Might Not

I might forget ambition and the hunger for success.
I might forget the passion to escape from nothingness.
I might forget the curious dreams of ecstasy that haunt
My fancy day and night. I might forget them. But I can't.

If I could let the pen alone and leave the inkstand dry,
And forego perpetual effort to be climbing, climbing high,
And lay aside my mad designs to startle and enchant,
I might enjoy the sweet of common living. But I can't.

I might be just a Philistine, and eat, and drink, and sleep,
And drive a dusty motor and pile money in a heap,
And let the stream of life run through my brain and be forgot.
If I did, I might be happier. I might—and I might not.

Proud Words (Demons And Wizards Session Out-take)

Stand up and fight
Or you'll lose your right
Do you wanna stand in a line
Fightin' hard to hold on to your mind
Seek and you'll find
Proud words on a dusty shelf
Find and you'll seek
Just keep on helpin? yourself
When the wind of trouble comes
Put away your battledrums
And stand up and fight
Stand up and fight
Don't stand in a line
Hold on to your mind
Seek and you'll find
Proud words on a dusty shelf
Find and you'll seek
Keep on keepin? on helpin? yourself
Stand up and fight ...

Fairy Sightings

How blessed am I
To view the world sublime

Where imagery and reality
In logic do collide

It's God whose wisdom
Made us all
In this we put our trust

Are fairy's more far fetched
Than mortal man from dust? ?

Open up your eyes
And to your great surprise

A view within the view of life
New dimensions will arise

My Precious Mother

You're smart, crafty,
and very caring,
and you are the gift I'm always sharing.

You one that will not
forget
all the good times since we met.

You are the one I'm closest to
And I'm always there if you don't
have anything to do.

You're more powerful than
any other and
that's what's keeping me with
my mother.

Remember that you're more
caring than any other
and that you'll always be my
precious mother.

I Thought I Never Would Forget

I went back in time today a box I thought
I'd thrown away
Had fallen off the basement shelf,
I tripped and almost hurt myself
Scattered there across the floor
A New Year's Eve hat from '94
Ticket stubs to Billy Joel and pictures
From the Sugar Bowl
Some of these souvenirs I remember
Mostly I don't
It's funny how time reduces a keepsake
To a footnote
The wheres and the whens that meant
So much then
Have gracefully moved along
My memory had mercy on me
And let me go on
Considering everything you meant I thought
I never would forget
Here's us dancing on your birthday
July 29th or 28th
The song was "Always and Forever,"
I'm not sure but I remember
That's the night we first made love
The passion captured both of us
It held us, then it set us free,
This is all that's left of you and me
A cardboard treasure chest with a diary
Of two lovers
Now it's a dusty old box no different
From the others
The wheres and the whens that meant
So much then
Have gracefully moved along
My memory had mercy on me
And let me go on
Considering everything you meant I thought
I never would forget
My memory had mercy on me
And let me go on
Considering everything you meant I thought
I never would forget

Early Works - Caring

Caring is about the little things
tears on a sunny day
for friends who may have gone away.

Caring, a word with such expression
when times are hard
the out stretched willing helping hand.

Caring a thing, we cannot always see,
but it’s nice to know
that there is always someone there.

Caring something, we always need
a cherished thought
by someone, anyone who cares.

Open Arms

If love is what you want
Baby here I am
If tenderness is what you need
Ive got that to give
If you need some affection
Baby these are open arms
Open arms open arms open arms open arms
You come hem youve had a hard day
Every door you tried to open
Was closing in your face
Im right here Ill be right here
Ill embrace you
Ill be open with my heart
Ill let you in
Ill be open with my thoughts
Ill be your best friend
If you need some attention
Baby these are open arms
Open arms open arms open arms open arms
Every corner you turn
Trouble come your way
But when you get home
Ill try to be there
And Ill embrace you
These are
These are
These are
Open arms
If time is what you need
Baby Ill stop the clocks
If youre looking for something
Maybe Ive got what you want
If theres one thing to remember
Dont forget that these are open arms
Open arms open arms open arms open arms
These are
These are
These are
Open arms
