The Fever-Dream
IT was a fever-dream; I lay
Awake, as in the broad bright day,
But faint and worn I drew my breath
Like those who wait for coming death;
And my hand lay helpless on my pillow
Weak as a reed or bending willow;
And the night-lamp, with its shadowy veil,
And its light so sickly, faint, and pale,
Gleamed mournfully on objects round;
And the clock's stroke was the only sound;
Measuring the hours of silent time
With a heavy and unwelcome chime,
As still monotonously true
To its pulse-like beat, the minutes flew.
I was alone, but not asleep;
Too weary, and too wetk to weep.
My eyes had closed in sadness there;
And they who watched o'er my despair
Had placed that dim light in the room,
And deepened the surrounding gloom,
By curtaining out the few sad rays
Which made things present to my gaze;
And all because they vainly thought
At last the night its rest had brought,--
Alas! rest came no more to me
So heavy was my misery!
They left me, and my heart was filled
With wandering dreams, whose fancies thrilled
Painfully through my feeble brain,
Till I almost wished them back again.
Yet wherefore should I bid them stay?
They could not chase those dreams away,
But only watch me as I lay.
They left me, and the midnight stroke
From the old clock the silence broke;
And with a wild repining sigh
I wished it were my time to die!
And then, with spirit all dismayed,
For that wild wish, forgiveness prayed,
Humbling myself to God's high power
To bear His will, and wait His hour.
And while I darkly rested there,
The breath of a young child's floating hair,
Perfumed, and warm, and glistening bright,
Swept past me in the shrouding night;--
And the footsteps of children, light and quick,
(While my heart beat loud, and my breath came thick)
Went to and fro on the silent floor;--
And the lock was turned in the fastened door,
As a child may turn it, who tiptoe stands
With his fair round arms and his dimpled hands,
Putting out all their strength in vain
Admittance by his own means to gain:
Till his sweet impatient voice is heard
Like the chirp of a young imprisoned bird,
Seeking an entrance still to win
By fond petitions to those within.
A child's soft shadowy hair, bright smiles,
His merry laugh, and coaxing wiles,
These are sweet things,--most precious things,--
But in spite of my brain's wild wanderings,
I knew that they dwelt in my fancy only,
And that I was sad, and left, and lonely;
And the fear of a dreadful madness came
And withered my soul like a parching flame;
And I felt the strong delirium growing,
And the thread of my feeble senses going,
And I heard with a horror all untold
Which turned my hot blood icy-cold,
Those light steps draw more near my bed;
And by visions I was visited,
Of the gentle eyes which I might not see,
And the faces that were so far from me!
And blest, oh I blest was the morning beam
Which woke me up from my fever-dream!

Once
That day her eyes were deep as night.
She had the motion of the rose,
The bird that veers across the light,
The waterfall that leaps and throws
Its irised spindrift to the sun.
She seemed a wind of music passing on.
Alone I saw her that one day
Stand in the window of my life.
Her sudden hand melted away
Under my lips, and without strife
I held her in my arms awhile
And drew into my lips her living smile,
Now many a day ago and year!
Since when I dream and lie awake
In summer nights to feel her near,
And from the heavy darkness break
Glitters, till all my spirit swims
And her hand hovers on my shaking limbs.
If once again before I die
I drank the laughter of her mouth
And quenched my fever utterly,
I say, and should it cost my youth,
'T were well! for I no more should wait
Hammering midnight on the doors of fate.

Breathless
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh!!
My control
That's what you take from me
Damned my soul
And you won't let me be
Stop me in my tracks, there's no looking back
I can't see (no)
It's much too late
I feel great
You take my breath away
You leave me breathless
You got me helpless
You take my breath away
You leave me breathless
You got me helpless
You take my breath away
Inside-out, that's how she turns my head
All my doubts are never put to bed
She's got me runnin' blind, never think I'll find sanity (oh)
Hyperventilate, nothing's a in her place
She takes my breath away
And leaves me breathless
Yes I'm so helpless
She takes my breath away
You leave me breathless
I'm so helpless
You take my breath away
You take me if I breath
And never let me know
You cast a spell on me, and you don't let me go go go go go
You leave me breathless
You got me helpless
You take my breath away
You leave me breathless
I'm so helpless
You take my breath away
You leave me breathless (oh, oh)
You leave me breathless
I'm breathless, breathless
You leave me breathless
Leave me breathless!

A dream so navie so hug to die

to busy with the life's that pass it by

for now a days i wish to dream another dream
'cause forever you seek and question why

Kiss The Wind
Once upon a time, a time, a time, a time, a time, a time
I lived here
Once upon a time, a time, a time, a time, a time, a time
I lived here
I lay my head on a pillow of sky
And I kiss the wind
And heard it sigh
Once upon a time
I lived here
In the fever of a dream, a dream, a dream, a dream, a dream, a dream
I loved here
In the fever of a dream, a dream, a dream, a dream, a dream, a dream
I loved here
Fell, heart and body
Soul and mind
I left all over worlds
Behind
In the fever of a dream
I loved here
The hour has come, its come, its come, its come, its come, its come, its come, its come
To leave here
The hour has come, its come, its come, its come, its come, its come, its come, its come
To leave here
Ill take whatever
Is mine to take
Free my heart before
It breaks
The hour has come
To leave here

Lie Awake
Let’s lie awake together
I’m not sleepy yet
Let’s play a few games
And give each other pet names.
Let’s lie awake together
It’s just us in this empty park
Hand me that sandwich
I’m getting hungry.
Let’s lie awake together
The grass is getting a little itchy
Hand me your jacket
I’ll keep you warm instead.
Let’s lie awake together
No, I saw that plane first
Oh wait it’s not a plane
Was that a shooting star?
Let’s lie awake together
Think of as many rhymes
Poetry is beautiful
But so are you.
Let’s lie awake together
What’s that light I see?
Oh no it’s the police
We need to run!
I know what I want to do
Let’s lie awake together
I’m sure tomorrow will be great
Seeing the sun rise next to you.

Helpless
There is a town in north ontario
Dream comfort memory despair
And in my mind I still need a place to hide
All my changes were there
Blue blue windows behind the stars
Yellow moon on the rise
Big birds flying across the skies
Casting shadows in our eyes
Leave us helpless helpless helpless helpless
Helpless helpless they leave me now
Helpless helpless helpless
Blue blue windows behind the stars
Yellow moon on the rise
They leave us
Helpless helpless helpless helpless
Helpless helpless they leave me now
Helpless helpless helpless
Helpless helpless helpless helpless
Helpless helpless they leave me now

Faith II
THROUGH the long night, the deathlong night,
Along the dark and haunted way,
I knew your hidden face was bright--
More bright than any day.
And when the faint, insistent moan
Rose from some weed-grown wayside grave,
I said, 'I do not walk alone;
'Tis easy to be brave.
I never turned to speak with you,
For all the way was dark and long,
But all the shadows' menace through
Your silence was my song.
I never sought to take your hand,
For all the way was long and rough;
I taught my soul to understand
That love was strength enough.
Then, suddenly, the ghosts drew near,
A ghastly, gliding, tomb-white band;
I called aloud for you to hear,
My hand besought your hand.
No voice, no touch--the thin ghosts glide
Where in my dream I dreamed you were--
Night, night, you are not by my side,
You never have been there!

Consolation
She folded up the worn and mended frock,
And smoothed it tenderly upon her knee,
Then through the soft web of a wee red sock
She wove the bright wool, musing thoughtfully:
'Can this be all? The outside world so fair,
I hunger for its green and pleasant ways;
A cripple prisoned in her restless chair
Looks from her window with a wistful gaze.
'The fruits I cannot reach are red and sweet,
The paths forbidden are both green and wide;
O God! there is no boon to helpless feet
So altogether sweet as paths denied.
Home is most fair; bright all my household fires,
And children are a gift without alloy;
But who would bound the field of their desires
By the prim hedges of mere fireside joy?
'I can but weave a faint thread to and fro,
Making a frail wolf in my baby's sock;
Into the world's sweet tumult I would go,
At its strong gates my trembling hand would knock.'
Just then the children came, the father too;
Their eager faces lit the twilight gloom;
'Dear heart,' he whispered, as he nearer drew,
'How sweet it is within this little room!
'God puts my strongest comfort here to draw
When thirst is great and common wells are dry.
Your pure desire is my unerring law,
Tell me, dear one, who is so safe as I?
Home is the pasture where my soul may feed,
This room a paradise has grown to be;
And only where these patient feet shall lead
Can it be home to these dear ones and me.'
He touched with reverend hand the helpless feet,
The children crowded close and kissed her hair.
'Our mother is so good, and kind, and sweet,
There's not another like her anywhere!'
The baby in her low bed opened wide
The soft blue flowers of her timid eyes,
And viewed the group about the cradle-side
With smiles of glad and innocent surprise.
The mother drew the baby to her knee,
And, smiling, said: 'The stars shine soft tonight;
My world is fair; its edges sweet to me,
And whatsoever is, dear Lord, is right.'

The Dream of I
So peaceful and quite, the endless sky...
The burden I carry, how did it come by? ...
After all I did was a dream to fly...
A dream so naive, so young to die...
So helpless and weak, a dream like I...
The world is too big for a dream like my...
Too busy with the lives that pass it by...
Farewell my dream, today I shall die...
Forever you seek and question why...
So many dreams like you have to die...
Farewell my dream, The dream of I...

Whenever You Come Around
The face of an angel; pretty eyes that shine
I lie awake at night wishing you were mine
Im standing here holding the biggest heartache in town
Whenever you come around
Chorus:
I get weak in the knees; and I lose my breath
Oh I try to speak but the words wont come
Im so scared to death
And when you smile the world turns upside down
Whenever you come around
I feel so helpless; I feel just like a kid
What is it about you that makes me keep my feelings hid
I wish I could tell you, bu the words cant be found
Whenever you come around
Repeat chorus
And when you smile that smile
The whole world turns upside down
Whenever you come around
Whenever you come around

The Dying Queen
"I would meet death awake."
The strength that bore her on for years
Was ebbing fast away,
And o'er the pale and lifep;worn face,
Death's solemn shadows lay.
With tender love and gentle care,
Friends gathered round her bed,
And for her sake each footfall hushed
The echoes of its tread.
They knew the restlessness of death
Through every nerve did creep,
And carefully they tried to lull
The dying Queen to sleep.
In vain she felt Death's icy hand
Her failing heart-strings shake;
And, rousing up, she firmly said,
"I'd meet my God awake."
Awake, I've met the battle's shock,
And born the cares of state;
Nor shall I take your lethean cup,
And slumber at death's gate.
Did I not watch with eyes alert,
The path where foes did tend;
And shall I veil my eyes with sleep,
To meet my God and friend?
Nay, rather from my weary lids,
This heavy slumber shake,
That I may pass the mystic vale,
And meet my God awake.

Death, Inevitable Death
Death, inevitable Death.
So now You come to show Your world,
Hence the blackened cloak – unfurled.
And peering down upon my form
– Bereft of pity – Your eyes of storm.
Death, inexorable Death.
‘When? ’ The only question out of Thee.
My dream retorts 'But ne’er for me! ’
But now awake, I bid you so –
My giving tears cry ‘Where to go? ’
Death, adamant Death.
You cast Your spell and guide me 'way,
For life and I have had our day.
And what of me? I prey You, tell!
Be glorious in Heaven or gnarled in Hell?
Death, ineluctable Death.
Oh wiry ghoul, I'm here to follow –
I leave my body grey and shallow.
‘Come! ’ You bid in thund’ring tones,
‘Beg farewell to shattered bones.’

I Cant Sleep
(kathy louvin/mark collie)
I cant sleep
For dreaming about you
When youre gone
Theres nothing I can do
But lie awake alone
And dream the whole night through
I cant sleep
For dreaming about you
I close my weary eyes
And see your face
I hold my pillow tight
And dream of your embrace
I know that I could use the rest
But my lonely heart cries out for your caress
I cant sleep
For dreaming about you
When youre gone
Theres nothing I can do
But lie awake alone
And dream the whole night through
I cant sleep
For dreaming about you
They say that absence makes a love grow stronger
But I dont believe my empty arms can hold out any longer
I cant sleep
For dreaming about you
When youre gone
Theres nothing I can do
But lie awake alone
And dream the whole night through
I cant sleep
For dreaming about you
I cant sleep
For dreaming about you

Lonely is the Night without a Pillow
dear dream please forgive my eyes
if the night closely peep the
morning sunlight, for nothing leaves the crickets
awake of sweet melody until everybody will greet
the morning glory of the stars asleep
twig the ray of every tree for the wind, gallops to
lay, snore the thundering rugged stream down
to the river flow as it
sing, and looks the night as it wait the morning sky,
wondering how it goes in the tick tock of the clock
oh! ladder of every dream, a pillow comes closer my
dear pillow,
for I will make you stay in my bed with a kiss
in your head, do what the eyes and the lips say and
make my day happy as you'll be
sleep my wonderful buddy the night comes in like a
flake of snow cool as it touches your body.....

The Fever
Hes got a split finger wrap
And his ropes pulled way to tight
Hes got a lunatic smile
cause hes really drawn deep tonight.
Hes got a fever, fever, fever, fever
Grab a hold of anything and hold on tight >br> it hits you like the venom from a rattle snake bite
Were all here cause hes not all there tonight.
He takes one breath
And time turns inside out
Then the gate busts open to the world he dreams about.
Hes got a fever, fever, fever, fever
Stick a rope on anything cause he dont care
Hed even take a ride on the electric chair
Were all here cause hes not all there tonight.
He says its really kind of simple
Keep your mind in the middle
While your butt spins round and round
Take heed to sankeys preachin
Keep liftin and reachin
And ridin like there aint no clowns.
What he loves might kill him
But hes got no choice
Hes a different breed
With a voice down deep inside
Thats screamin he was born to ride.
Hes got a fever, fever, fever, fever
Fever makes you crazy cause it makes no sense
Like runnin from your shadow out of self-defense
He wont run and baby he cant hide
He thinks the odds are even leavin one hand tied
He gets so tired of hangin on so tight
I know you think hes crazy well I think youre right
Were all here cause hes not all there thats right.

A Widow's Hymn
How near me came the hand of Death,
When at my side he struck my dear,
And took away the precious breath
Which quicken’d my belovàd peer!1
How helpless am I thereby made!
By day how grieved, by night how sad!
And now my life’s delight is gone,
—Alas! how am I left alone!
The voice which I did more esteem
Than music in her sweetest key,
Those eyes which unto me did seem
More comfortable than the day;
Those now by me, as they have been,
Shall never more be heard or seen;
But what I once enjoy’d in them
Shall seem hereafter as a dream.
Lord! keep me faithful to the trust
Which my dear spouse reposed in me:
To him now dead preserve me just
In all that should performàd be!
For though our being man and wife
Extendeth only to this life,
Yet neither life nor death should end
The being of a faithful friend.

A Paean for my country
Let freedom and victory get a own song
from the fields of blood and gore
while perished the men that were young
lie in silence forevermore.
At last, at last the darkness has passed
and over us, our country a new day breaks
that is in its glory unsurpassed
while as if coming from death we are awake.
Away our doubts and fears are swept
while for too many years
sacrifices we have made, our widows have wept
tears of pain and their tears
are now of sheer happiness
a feeling without any kind of pain,
as if a kind of holiness
descends upon the land to remain
while every man and women is free
and all hostility is swept away
as men and women live in fraternity,
are kin and neighbours at the brake of day.
l’Envoi
This paean might only still be just a dream
where at times still some blood do spill
and I wish people from hatred to redeem;
that no one wishes another ill.
Awake, arise and wait my fatherland
for true changes to come to every heart and mind,
for God to stretch out His delivering hand
and us to stop to be severally blind.

Dream A While With Me
I dream of rainbows, Bright in the sky,
I dream of lightning, together we cry,
I dream of flowers, I feel such delight,
I dream of spiders, and I scream with fright,
I dream of fish, swimming in the sea,
I dream of sharks, coming after me,
I dream of lambs, frolicking around,
I dream of wolves, Hunting, no sound,
I dream of children, several of them ours,
I dream of them waking, Being up for hours,
Stay with me forever and together we'll cope,
Because when I dream of you, I dream of hope,
Dream awhile with me and together we'll see,
Not all dreams are bad, so dream along with me.
