Message In A Bottle
Darkness dances
Shadow shapes twirl
Things left broken
Shattered beyond repair
Glass sharper than razors
Lie numerous against the floor
A masterpiece of dangerous things
Of shot down dreams
Locked away memories
Sealed with a silver kiss
Letters to a lover
Slowly travel the world
On a deep bed of blue
Roams lonely
A message in a bottle

Just a castaway
An island lost at sea
Another lonely day
No-one here but me
More loneliness
Than any man could bear
Rescue me before I fall into despair

Crash
Shattered glass
Broken dreams
A nightmare it seems
To miss a boy you loved so much
To sit at his grave and wish to hug
A shattered car is all we have
Broken hearts all around
Sit by his shattered car and frown
A cross left on the side of the road
Reminds us that time is old
Lessons learned and lessons fought
Broken dreams torn apart
Sadness holds strong in our heart.

Shattered
Darkness enveloped me
Pain and darkness filled my heart
Deepened by emotions
Tormented from the very start.
Fear left unspoken
Shattered by betrayal
Innocence is broken.
Its all just broken.
Uncontrollabler anger
Promises of pain
Burning with such heartache
And still he reigns
Painful memories so deep
Traumatic price to pay
Leaving me hurt.
And left to bear the scars.
Sadness has engulfed me
Bitter to the end
Pieces of my innocence
Shattered by a friend.

An Almost Broken Glass Bottle
For a while now I've been afraid to say or show how I feel, so instead I go around telling people I'm tough, pretending to be made of steel
All of my feelings I shoved into a bottle made of glass, and as I shoved this glass bottle inside myself I prayed these feelings wouldn't last
The more of my feelings I shoved into it the fuller my glass bottle got, the only problem is once I started to shove all my feeling into it, I didn't know how to stop
Even if you were to ask me if I was okay I'd put on a smile and say I'm fine, even though deep down inside I know I'm lying
So here we are present day and despite my efforts to stop it, my glass bottle and I have started to crack and I know any minute now both of us are going to snap
No matter how much I wish it wasn't so, no matter how much all together I wish my glass bottle and I would stay, I know deep down that my almost broken glass bottle is any second gonna give way

Came So Far For Beauty
I came so far for beauty left
So much behind
My patience and my family
My masterpiece unsigned
I thought Id be rewarded
For such a lonely choice
And surely she would answer
To such a very hopeless voice
I practiced all my sainthood
I gave to one and all
But the rumours of my virtue
They moved her not at all
I changed my style to silver
I changed my clothed to black
And where I would surrender
Now I would attack I stormed the old casino
For the money and the flesh and I myself decided
What was rotten and what was fresh
And men to do my bidding
And broken bones to teach
The value of my pardon
The shadow of my reach
But no, I could not touch her
With such a heavy hand
Her star beyond my order
Her nakedness unmanned
I came so far for beauty
I left so much behind
My patience and my family
My masterpiece unsigned

The Things That Dreams Are Made Of
Take time to see the wonders of the world
To see the things youve only ever heard of
Dream life the way you think it ought to be
See things you thought youd never ever see
Take a cruise to china
Or a train to spain
Go round the world
Again and again
Meet a girl on a boat
Meet a boy on a train
And fall in love
Without the pain
Everybody needs love and adventure
Everybody needs cash to spend
Everybody needs love and affection
Everybody needs 2 or 3 friends
These are the things
These are the things
The things that dreams are made of
These are the things
These are the things
The things that dreams are made of
Take a lift to the top of the empire state
Take a drive across the golden gate
March, march, march across red square
Do all the things youve ever dared
Everybody needs love and adventure
Everybody needs cash to spend
Everybody needs love and affection
Everybody needs 2 or 3 friends
These are the things
These are the things
The things that dreams are made of
These are the things
These are the things
The things that dreams are made of
Like fun and money and food and love
And things you never thought of
These are the things
These are the things
The things that dreams are made of
New york, ice cream, tv, travel, good times
Norman wisdom, johnny, joey, dee dee, good times
These are the things
These are the things
The things that dreams are made of
These are the things
These are the things
The things that dreams are made of
These are the things
These are the things
The things that dreams are made of
These are the things
These are the things
The things that dreams are made of
These are the things
These are the things
The things that dreams are made of
These are the things
These are the things
The things that dreams are made of

Under The Overpass
oh the news will travel slowly
over broken glass
and I'll bet you've heard that story
under the overpass
got no time to weep for something
you?ll never get back
if your feeling cold and lonely
under the overpass
hallelujah hallelujah
under the overpass
dingo cry in the middle of the night
snakeskin crawl under desert sunlight
I wish and I hope
someone's there to drink from the soak
in the town where I hit the ground
its the town with the full nelson sound
yea the news will travel slowly
over broken glass
time and again your gonna hear that story
under the overpass
got no time to weep for something
you can never get back
if your feeling cold and lonely
under the overpass
you can never get back
if your feeling sad and lonely
under the overpass
hallelujah (repeated in various forms)
under the overpass
under the overpass

A Swirling Breeze
A single breath here
billowing out lazily
to meet yours
in the in between;
prelude to a kiss
the breaths meet before our lips
the dance before the kiss
the double breath
now double warm
fresh from our lungs;
meet and swirl
each around the other
as our moist mouths quiver.
But then the slow inhale and these mixed two
are drawn back to their origins
and down lung-ward
they twirl dancing their lung dances.
But before that warm storm
can settle in mouth and lung
warm lips
ignite
an even larger tempest
and now two breaths;
sealed mouth
sealed kiss
make a lungful maelstrom
deep within
and goes to my center
where the explosion there
buckles my knees.

My Shadow
Things I have left behind
Within an effort to move forward,
Counting every minute, every second-
Reliving my life through every hour, day and year-
The night time sky is falling before my own eyes
Blocking the pathway before me, blinding me-
I cannot foresee a future-The rain that fell every time
I tried to venture outward,
Rain that transformed to tears
When all hope had ostensibly disappeared.
Things I have left behind-
Places where I had been locked inside,
Having lost grounds with all that is real-
Perhaps a few roses in a cracked vase by my bedside,
A mother that did not care and a father that did not believe-
When through my own eyes my world had fallen to pieces.
I left behind many people-
People I did not trust and it was then that I knew
I had to rebuild my foundation,
To build a future for myself that would be mine and mine alone-
Things I have left behind are now
Gone and gone forever-all that is left is time-
Time to move on and to bury the past in my back yard and
Search for hope, a purpose and a new reality.
These things I have left behind are sinking into the ground-
Now I can foresee a future- the flame on my candle is burning
Guiding me as I run forward into a garden of blossoming trees and
A paved pathway upon which to run forward- and a cloudless sky
Where I can lift my wings, once broken and are healing, and fly-
Fly high above looking down below at my newfound veracity-
I know if I were to take a look behind-
All I could see would be a shadow upon a sidewalk-
A shadow of my past and everybody knows that shadows don't last forever, and
All else that I have left behind is gone forever,
Looking forward at the allure of the springtime and
I see clearly now- there is no more rain and as I look above me
I can see trees seemingly touching the sun against a deep blue sky-
I can see clearly now because my eyes are open wide and
There are no tears to cry today and when I glance behind me-
All I see is a shadow- that shadow of my past, vanishing in the late spring's breeze-

Change.....
before i became you
i always see to it that any broken thing
is repaired
nothing is spared
i thought
that every part and nook
of this house
must be perfect
time is not only the healer
of wounds
it is the giver of
our destination
it changes us
into chameleons
now i will have no more time
to repair broken
things
when i see a broken leg
of the table
i have learned to ignore
it
shrug my shoulder and
say
oh the days shall repair
that leg
oh i have other better things
to do
oh i only pass this place
once
i am not destined for
something permanent
for something steady
and unchangeable
i can resist
and has given up that
instinct to
recreate
and reconstitute
i only have my mind left
and i can manage
even without it

The Eyes Of God.
, There avenues that i must travel and prices that i must pay,
for the mistakes i that i made and things i did not say.
I died in a lonely mind and fell to the ground,
i lost my heart to you and i bow to the queen of hearts,
never more shall we travel the same paths.
Reveries from a forgotten future,
prophesies foretold our hidden past,
and a kiss of immortals come to pass at last.
Your kisses caused my lips to part and you left the door unshut,
when you left me incomplete, and tore a broken heart.
Here where the earth is silent and cupid holds his breath,
where my heart waits patiently but in vain for yours,
in a corner of the life you all forsook_
we kiss one last time, completely and only God will look.,

The Final Confessions II
These were my confessions
(A message to God)
The light begins to fade
(It’s time to go)
Back into the shadows
(That hard black fog)
Where darkness has its way
(God rest your soul)
Nothing left to tell you
(It’s all been said)
No more songs to write
(This silent Fall)
Nothing left to offer
(The well’s been bled)
From a shadow’s waning life
(Who lost it all)
Take my words and hold them
(Don’t be afraid)
Place them near your heart
(And heal your pain)
Shadow words will kiss you
(And heal your pain)
When your world turns dark
(Don’t’ be afraid)
And I kiss you
Kiss you
I kiss you in the dark

I Am Not An Anchor
Forever isn't long enough
I hope that in my dreams
I get the chance to feel as whole
As when your close to me
I am not an anchor
Time has shifted me
A shattered glass
A broken past
A life left to the breeze
But if there is a method
To mend this fractured heart
I'd travel down that broken road
And make a pain-free start
Since I have seen one thousand days
And days have never changed
I walk much sure for I adore
The change that comes my way
Forever isn't twice as bad
As living with denial
A second light
A distant hope
An angel gone for now
I am not an anchor
Time has shifted me
A shattered glass
A broken past
A life left to the breeze
Some say there is a method
To mend a fractured heart
To travel down that broken road
To make a pain-free start
Since I have seen one thousand days
And days have never changed
I walk much sure for I adore
The change that comes my way
You Are Life...
To me

Melancholy Ghost Terribly Obtuse
I walk through river mist
Remembering the feelings when we kissed,
Too many days forlorn in a foggy past,
Abandoned and tossed away.
Churchyard cemetery with broken gates,
Certain circumstances simply refuse to wait
But I’ve scraped myself through corridors
Of the destitute and the abhorred.
The things about you that I once adored
Decay like relics in ancient tombs,
I’m a sealed-off crime scene with empty rooms,
I’m a dusty bottle of wine two-thirds used.
I’m a melancholy ghost terribly obtuse
But I’m slowly learning not to insist
On keeping the old memories impossible to relive,
Slowly making it to the grave and learning to forgive.

What About My Broken Heart
What about my broken heart
What about my broken dreams
What about the things you said
Does it matter
What about the end of this
Why does a heart begin to find things bad
Tell me why
Why does the world not see that I am sad
Tell me why
Couldn't be a day on a sea of joy
Hanging' on the beach
Getting hard at toy
If you want someone to be in love with you
Think the right way is what you should do
See it in your smile see it in your hair
You're the only one that's what i swear
What about my dreams and my broken heart
All the things you said we're gonna start
Now but think about me myself and I
My melodies makes you satisfied
You never ask why cause you are to shy
I wanna be with you
I will never see you cry
What about my dreams and my broken heart
All the things you said we're gonna start
What about my dreams and my broken heart
All the things you said we're gonna start

Kody
Kody sat down on the avenue
He tapped his feet to the humming of the highway
He watched the light shine down on the broken glass, and thought
I dont got no reasons, yet
There it is and there it was
It was clear to all of us
We kept this hat of broken dreams
And we pulled them out, when we needed them around
(chorus)
So please hand me a bottle, I think Im lonely now
And please give me direction, I think the hurt set in
And I dont feel nothing, yet
Theres a squeak hinge down on the back gate
It lets us know if he comes around
But I dont sleep that good anyway
And if youve never heard that silence, its a God awful sound
I dont feel nothing, no I dont feel nothing
Theres nothing to feel good about here
Dont much get down to the avenue
I could drive
But it takes so much to get there
Dont get off on all the broken glass, the cadillac scene,
Well
Ive seen a lot of good things die and im
In an overemotional way

Some Things
There are some things
that are better left alone;
the past is one
for once it’s gone
you cannot get it back.
Best let it go and lay it to rest.
A lost love is another
for they probably have found someone new
and the more you search for them
the more you make yourself blue.
For there are some things
that better left alone.
The more we learn this lesson
the quicker we can move on.
Though we will retain our memories
as we move ahead.
These memories are there to comfort
at times when we are sad,
but we cannot recapture them
so it is best they remain memories
of good times we had.
As we stride into the future
new memories, we will make.
Therefore, it is best that we remember
there are some things
that are best left alone.
