Even With All The Small Stuff
They say don't sweat the small stuff.
I try not to, but some times I still do.
They keep adding up as I keep telling the voices in my head just shut up.
Hateful thoughts becomes a common occurrence as anger builds.
You must treat it like a balloon and let the air out very slowly or it will fly off in a uncontrollable way.
Or explode all of a sudden.
To little to late.
A very common mistake.
That imprisons so many.
But I keep telling myself that will never be.
Because I won't go off unless it is to defend myself or loved ones from mortal danger.

The Voices Are Back
He saw flames in the department store
He tried to get the people to the safety of the door
There was no fire the voices were telling him what to do
You could see from his face he needs someone
To help pull him through
The voices are back theyre telling him what to do
The voices are back theyre telling him what to do
Ripping through the fabric between his world and the real
Hes trying to protect you but
The knife will know that your flesh meets steel
Took him to an institution
And they helped the voices go away
But he didnt have the right set of papers
So they put this boy in jail
The voices are back theyre telling him what to do
The voices are back theyre telling him what to do
Six weeks turned to twelve
He was locked up for twenty-three hours a day
The warden found him in his cell
His only crime was that he was ill
The voices are back theyre telling him what to do
The voices are back theyre telling him what to do

Voices
The voices in my head is telling me not to let you go,
You had lay me down to sleep,
You walk pass by me in dreams,
You had made me happy,
You took care of me,
The voices are telling me to let you stay,
The voices in my heart is telling me to open up,
My soul tells me not to open up,
The voices are everywhere in my body,
My head, my soul, and my heart,
My body is numb,
You have took what was once given,
You have made your mistakes by letting me go,
I was once happy with you,
The voices are telling me to hold on to you,
But I have took what was once you had given to me and that was trust,
You have betrayed my trust,
Betrayed your friends,
The voices are telling me to help you,
But I choose not to.

Sing For The Common Man
You may not know me now
But I have been around
Youll never see my name on any pages
Im just the common man
The fool who understands
The pain you go through
When life takes you under
So, sing for the common man
A song for the common man
He paid for the song with the sweat of his brow
He will survive, he will survive
You may not know my mother
My sisters or my brothers
Yet everyone has given for the other
You know the working man
He builds what others plan
So, everyone of us should sing his story
So, sing for the common man
A song for the common man
He paid for the song with the sweat of his brow
He will survive, he will survive
Dat after day
He keeps working away
In offices, factories, and farms
Year after year
He sheds tear after tear
He will provide, he will survive
So, sing for the common man
A song for the common man
He paid for the song with the sweat of his brow
He will survive, he will survive

I Am A Man!
i never understood...
the need to be popular,
to be the 'in' thing,
to be cool, to be hip,
never understood the need
for fame...
never waited to be patted
on the back,
never wanted to be followed...
i am what i am!
nothing more, nothing less.
a common man,
with a common heart,
a common soul,
and common hard working hands.
i can honestly say
that i have lived,
i have loved,
i have given past
the point of giving,
i have tried my wings
on countless occasions...
many times i fell,
but a few times i have flown!
i have forgiven,
and asked for forgiveness.
i believe what i believe,
and have stood up in spite of.
i am a man!

Voices Of Murder
Sometimes things just don't go our way.
Not matter how hard you try to change the unchangeable.
It still won't be possible.
And in this futility you will learn the most important thing in life.
Acceptance.
Every now and then in a new direction we must walk.
Even the most righteous paths vary.
Let us not shed tears for what was lost before we take a look at what we have gained.
Wasting is the clock and the time locked within.
It leaves a stain on many hearts and they dart jump and skip along the rocky road ahead.
Wear the best boots you can when it come to the walk through life.
For pain is common.
And it beckons your summons.
Some will never be use to it.
No matter what they wear.
Doing it for the wrong reasons.
Becomes a manifestation that festers a regret and doubt.
And the creature comes into it's own.
Growing into a grimly shadow.
It grabs a hold of you and it doesn't want to let go.
For it needs you to breath.
It needs you to exist.
It becomes the importance of the unimportant.
Always your fault.
Always blaming and beating yourself up.
Those voices in your head just will never shut up.
Everyone keeps telling you it is not your fault.
But you can't even hear them.
The whispers among the screams,
Your worst enemy is yourself.
A reflection out of sync.
The anger and hate builds.
Walking into the killing fields.
Reliving all that tension.
But it doesn't stop their.
Creating chaos, depravity, and despair.
Just to feel better.
Ripping up a promise in a letter.
Washing off hands cover in blood.
An unjustly justification.
They only fade so you must do it again and again to quell these oh so horrible conversations in your head.

Telling again and again
Telling again and again and
Again the same thing repeatedly
Is not bad rather it is good
Telling again and again and
Again the same story remind you
The mistake that turned you bad
And telling again and again and
Again the same thing you became
The master orator and we hear
You all words being consumers.

Anger does not pay
Anger is red danger
But a familiar stranger
So It came as no surprise
At the times I have paid the price
More than the usual thrice
Before becoming very wise
The judge said
I should have been put in a cage
If one considers all the damage
I brought on with my rage
I knew
My anger was unreasonable
My anger was invincible
My anger was uncontrollable
But still very reversible
You see
In anger I always surrender
To the pressure I am under
In anger, I ungraciously lose
To the one I righteously accuse
In anger, I immoderately protest
Instead of letting things rest
Then trying responsibly to digest
And deal with issues best
So I say, So I say
Anger does not pay
Anger does not stay
Delay it from display
In time it will only go away
Now I know that
Anger does not pay
Anger does not stay
Calmness you should play
Before you begin to fall astray

Small Stuff
There's a little cafe' on the corner of town
Lucy works there 'til the sun goes down
It ain't very much but she brings home the bacon and the bread
We got a mortgage we pay just a little bit on
But it seems like all of our money is gone
Before we get a chance to get ahead
That's small stuff, we don't sweat the small stuff
Why worry about the mortgage and the minimum wage
Traffic and the taxes and the coming of age
Small stuff
There's a comfort in the knowing there's a spirit in us
Giving us the courage and the wisdom to trust
In a love that's so much greater than all the small stuff
So we don't sweat the small stuff
There's a little bitty hole in the ceiling above
Sometimes the rain drips down on our temple of love
We have to put a pot smack dab in the middle of the bed
Somebody hit my car at the diner last night
Had to drive it home with one taillight
When I went out this morning, the engine was dead
That's small stuff, we don't sweat the small stuff
Why worry about the mortgage and the minimum wage
Traffic and the taxes and the coming of age
Small stuff
There's a comfort in the knowing there's a spirit in us
Giving us the courage and the wisdom to trust
In a love that's so much greater than all the small stuff
So we don't sweat the small stuff
There's a little cafe' on the corner of town
Lucy works there 'til the sun goes down
And she don't sweat the small stuff

The Draft #3
Sometimes i become afraid of myself because my anger brings danger. Its like this almost infinite power that's just rushing through my forearms just as popeye; my anger being the fuel like the can of spinach. Suddenly i become blind to the world as i'm faced with the images of the past. Now, i'm reliving it and feeling all the pain and then suddenly, i find myself drained of all energy, thoughts, and common sence. I'm finding my lack of self quite mordant although i'm morbid

My Thoughts Of Suicide
Here I sit and write this poem
Thinking of all I love and all I hate
Thoughts of suicide thinking its my fate
I think of all the times I used to laugh
And now I wish I'd just die
How did so much misery come in to my life
And now all I have are thoughts of suicide
Crying every night is not the way to live
Heck I'm still a kid
I should be out hanging with all my friends
But these thoughts of suicide haunt my head
Will they care when I am gone
When nothings left expect my thoughts
And this small poem telling everyone
I will be no more in about an hour
Don't try to save me
Just save your tears
Nothing can stop me
Because i have thoughts of suicide
Heres to the end my dear friend
I hope you live life through
This is the end to this girls life
And all her thoughts to boot
Nothing there but my thoughts my secret thoughts of suicide

Its Whatever
Its whatever
Its what happens
Whatever
Ooh
Whatever
Just like the birds that
Whistle in the trees
And in the leaves so happily your
My tree and through the storm
You stood strong for me
Kept me warm as can be (warm as can be)
Like a candy to an apple oh
We go together
Your so sweet to me ( oh so sweet)
I can say that I do believe
This is destiny
It keeps calling me
Now its me and you
You and me
And its whatever
Whatever you want it to be
Im telling you (Im telling you)
If its up to me whatever is whatever
Is whatever with you and me ( whatever is whatever)
Just like a breeze
In the middle of a summer eve
And you come through you comfort me
If Im a drink your
My lemon sgueeze
Oh youve got flava boy
You go good with
Me so boy dont play or tease me
Ooh keep me together
You got what I need
Now its getting late
Its after three
So quit your stalling
My body calling
Now its me and you
And you and me
And its whatever
Whatever you want it to be
Im telling you(Im telling you)
If its up to me whatever is whatever
As long as its you and me
Whatever is whatever
Its whatever
Its your world
I put that on everything
Its your world
Your world ooh
Now its me and you
You and me
And its whatever
You want it to be
Im telling you
If its up to me
Whatever is whateva

Good Evening Mr. Waldheim
Good evening mr.waldheim
And pontiff how are you?
You have so much in common
In the things you do
And here comes jesse jackson
He talks of common ground
Does that common ground include me
Or is it just a sound
A sound that shakes
Oh jesse, you must watch the sounds you make
A sound that quakes
There are fears that still reverberate
Jesse you say common ground
Does that include the plo?
What about people right here right now
Who fought for you not so long ago?
The words that flow so freely
Falling dancing from your lips
I hope that you dont cheapen them
With a racist slip
Oh common ground
Is common ground a word or just a sound
Common ground
Remember those civil rights workers buried in the ground
If I ran for president
And once was a member of the klan
Wouldnt you call me on it
The way I call you on farrakhan
And pontiff, pretty pontiff
Can anyone shake your hand ?
Or is it just that you like uniforms
And someone kissing your hand
Or is it true
The common ground for me includes you too
Oh, oh, is it true
The common ground for me includes you too
Good evening mr.waldheim
Pontiff how are you
As you both stroll through the woods at night
Im thinking thoughts of you
And jesse youre inside my thoughts
As the rhythmic words subside
My common ground invites you in
Or do you prefer to wait outside
Or is it true
The common ground for me is without you
Or is it true
The common ground for me is without you
Oh is it true
Theres no ground common enough for me and you

If I told you
Telling grey clouds
Telling silent birds
Telling tall trees
These things
That have lain waste
This winter soil
That binds its roots around the dead
Telling all who will listen
Who will hear
That it loved once, lived here
Underneath the shape of things
Felt breathed love.
If I had told you
Only you,
Would you still be here?
Still, in love?

Come On Home
(ransford)
Im telling you
Im telling you
Im telling you to come on home
Ive been told many times about you
About your lies that youve never been true
Now I found out
You left here on your own
Now I found out
But chorus
In the future darling be true
How many times has this happened to you but chorus
Cmon baby now

Right And Wrong
A steady stream of thoughts
flowing round my head
telling me what is right
telling me what is wrong
My heart and mind
can only tell me
it can not tell
the fools that do wrong
I can only say
what is right
and what is wrong
In the end
only they can decide

Anger Is One Letter Short Of Danger
Anger is fire
It burns the soul
Anger is deep sea
Drowns one to death
Anger is a storm
Blows one
Out of the world
Anger is demon
Overpowers the mind
Anger is a virus
Slowly kills a person
Anger is evil
Brings one closer to hell
Anger is madness
Makes one suffer
Anger is an enemy
Destroys one slowly
Turns friendship
Into enmity
Always remember
Anger is
One letter short of
Danger
It takes its toll
Does not spare
A single soul
