In My Head
In my head
voices speak,
Ingrid says,
each one suggesting
different things,
proposing I do this
or that, each voice
distinct from the other.
The Psychiatrist
pares his nails,
gazes at the photo
of his wife and kids,
the silver frame,
the wife with that stupid grin,
and the voice of Ingrid
grating on his ears,
like some whiny cat
shut out in the night
with the heavy rain.
In my head,
Ingrid says,
voices are beginning again.

I Have A Voice Of My Own
I HAVE A VOICE OF MY OWN
I have a voice of my own
It is a small quiet voice
It does not know violent metaphor
And it cannot surprise very much
It is a small quiet voice
And a quite simple one
It loves to think it tells the truth of my soul
But no doubt it has its own forms of ironies and deceptions-
There are other voices much greater than it
Stronger voices and more poetic voices
And voices which rightfully more appeal to others
But my voice is my voice
And it is the one
I am trying to
speak to you with now.

Voices in my headSHUT UP, SHUT UP, SHUT UP! ! !
SHUT UP, SHUT UP, SHUT UP! ! !
Voices are every where in my head.
They follow me everywhere, like the black cloud that rains.
The voices in my head constantly scratch at my brain.
With in the mist of the rain.
But the living gets painful and harder every single day.
I feel ashamed to admit that i don't want to live,
I don't know how much more i can take or give.
While the voices makes me emotionally sick.
The hold they have on me is so tight and thick,
Voices of bastards who hurt me.
The asswholes that abused me.
The depression they left in my life.
As the voices I try to fight.
I battle in the day i battle in the night
I try and compose myself, let them belive that i'm fine
But happiness is non-existant in this world of mine
When i hear the voices i feel i'm going insane,
As they constantly scratch away at my brain.
All they want to do is hurt me even more.
Brining me to the shore.
They want to bring me to an end

Two Voices
Two voices I hear inside my head,
Both wanting their own way.
I must figure out, which voice must go,
And which I allow to stay.
One is the voice of my spirit,
The other of my mind.
One will move me farther ahead.
One will pull be further behind.
But I do not know, which voice is which,
And which voice has my best.
In order to know, which voice is true.
I put both voices to the test.
With one voice I know peace and love,
Are the rewards that I will find.
And the one that creates confusion and fear.
That is the voice inside my mind.

Nine Voices
Anderson/squire/howe/white/sherwood/khoroshev
On a beach
North africa
Nine tribesmen stand alone
Waiting for a distant call
Waiting for the world to answer
Thru' the night of a thousand stars
Encircled by the light
They began to sing a new song
Of forces that surround us

Nine voices
When the sun came up they sang
As the perfect calendar says
Each had the power of people
Speaking new languages
They gave forgiveness meaning
New ways of letting go
Each child is born for greatness
With forces that surround them

Blood Sweat And Tears
We have nothing to offer
you.. say the cows of
their gravy.. but our
blood, sweat, and tears.
How is it that their
tears..
are crystalline and clear
when they are made of
crimson blood and torn
from their broken hearts?
How is it that such tiny
orbs.. can contain
a globe of suffering?

built a 2 million member organization which is currently asking people

(blood sweat and tears: blood containing animal fat, sweat containing
trioxypurine or uric acid, more harmful than caffein, and tears
containing terror hormones of adrenalin)

I walked into this Vista
I walked into this Vista
to work there
and the garden was beautiful,
but in such a place
I did not want to stay
and nobody will get me
into such a place.
The people that work there
were decent, friendly and god fearing
and a patient followed me,
as if I am the leader
in a game
and a woman walk stark naked
and asked me
where the president’s office is
and if I came from the parliament?
That this Vista is a wonderful place
when life’s walls fold in on you
and life loose all its meaning
and you hear voices in your mind,
nobody can deny,
and I saw people find God there
while there humanity
and life tried to destroy them.
a Polish doctor wanted to know from me
why the grass in summer
is yellow brown and dried out,
while the winter chill was biting me
and I wondered
from which Siberia she comes.
I saw there that specialist doctors
are also people
and there were rumours
that some of the doctors
had more serious problems
than their patients
and that one has a drawer
full of crumbled paper
which he hoards like a rat.
and I wondered how a doctor
that lived next to the hospital
opened his garden gate with his feet.
Electric shocks that goes straight through you
and hypnotic therapy
can pass me by
and the day that I walked out of there,
it was better
than escaping from a jail
and I could comprehend
Ingrid Jonker’s poem much better
and maybe the damage
was more in her soul
than in that Valkenburg.
