Our success was mainly due to the fact that we stimulated the nerves of animals that easily stood on their own feet and were not subjected to any painful stimulus either during or immediately before stimulation of their nerves.

Presidents with strong nerves are decisive. They don't balk at unpopular decisions. They are willing to make people angry. Bush had strong nerves. Clinton, who passed up a chance to eliminate Osama bin Laden, did not. Obama is a people pleaser, a trait not normally associated with nerves of steel.

The nerves are a problem on trumpet, because when you mess up everyone can hear it. Just remember most people are too polite to say anything about it. That should calm your nerves.

He who feels compelled to consider the consequences of these facts cannot but realize that the specific sensibility of nerves for certain impressions is not enough, since all nerves are sensitive to the same cause but react to the same cause in different ways.

The Most Painful is Neglect
Pleasure and pain limit to sensory nerves.
Pride and disgrace get to center nerves.
Neglect and abandonment pierce to its core.
There lies hell the old must learn to live with.

You Don't Have to Read This Part
i never liked
honestly enough
those fidgety leaves
those nerves
that fall short of the
translation of
the word
in my native language
yours too
but
which you must have
betrayed
for something lesser
than yourself
do not tell me more
go away
i know what nerves
are too
last night
i could not sleep
thinking that
for all those years
i wasted
myself on you
blackbird...

Nerves
Nerves are most extraordinary,
Full of useful information,
At a moment's notice merry
With abounding cacchination,
Then with subtle transformation,
Dreary as a cemetery
Just prepared for occupation.—
Nerves are most extraordinary.

Let Me Cry Alone
you must go now
i know how to suffer alone
i know how to cry
without any comfort
you must go now
do not learn this art
of genuflection
this masochism
of the painful arm
the nerves erupting
the mind exploding
again the heart
must be purified
this pain this pleasure
this measure

That Anxious Feeling inside You
Do you ever get that anxious feeling in your gut?
You have a good life but it’s still there,
You don’t have everything but enough and it’s still there,
Well your uneasy nerves are playing tricks
An’ only you can make it fix, for
It isn’t going to happen, if it does so what.
Get your mind to your nerves to play tricks,
If it’s raining that’s your drinking gaining,
Laugh and love your life...that will surely fix,
Now you’s ava nice day, every day!
Then let the new you stick to the facts,
Take it easy rider and relax.

It's Like An Impatience Waiting
The hour for the last time,
You allow someone to get on your nerves...
Approaches.
And something inside of you knows it.
It's like an impatience waiting,
To pop the cork...
On a bottle of champagne.
The hour for the last time,
You allow someone to get on your nerves...
Approaches.
And unaware is this person,
They assist in helping you to celebrate...
A time in your life,
You thought would never come!

God Knows I Stay Rehearsed
I am not suppose to be the one sentimental.
And I hope it doesn't show.
God knows I stay rehearsed...
Not being too emotionally diverse.
And I pray my demeanor,
Does not leak sentimentality.
Or expresses a weakness,
Desiring to be touched!
In those still hot places.
Afterall,
I have aged.
And I'm told with age comes tolerance.
So I'm tolerating the fact...
I'm lacking affection.
And that is not detected,
Because I keep it in check.
Those young people with their hearts on their sleeves,
Get on my nerves!
They collect bedmates,
Like the ground receives Autumn leaves.
All year 'round.
With their music and freedom to express themselves.
If these were the 'good-old-days'...
They would see immediately my disapproval!
When I was their age...
At least I was secretive about my transgressions.

Sport Yer Feelings
She needs to know anything
Stratosphere
but i've never seen anything out of my block
i was sick when chances were given
If she could teach me her secret dance steps
we'd dance through fields
through lands of sadness
she got a spot
for some blue samba
you're a blessing in disguise
have some rest a day or two
and yer nerves may too
as i'm in
a place which i've never been
since you do not have your lens
you should trust me takin' you there
seems like dance hall but it's a kitchen
seats are free there's no one in there
you're so smart
i'm just stoked
we flow out in the country yard
have some rest
a day or two
and yer nerves may too

Good Friends
I have to come and see you--
Maybe once or twice a year--
I think nothing would suit me better
(right now)
Than some downtown atmosphere ...
In the dance halls and the galleries
Or betting in the otb
Synchronized--like magic
Good friends you and me
The sun goes down in jersey
Rises over little italy--
We could talk it up til the block gets up
Swapping stories
Sitting around in some all night zoo
Watching it run like a movie
Synchronized--like magic
Good friends you and me
No hearts of gold
No nerves of steel
No blame for what we can and cannot feel
But now its cloak and dagger
Walk on eggshells and analyze
Every particle of difference
Gets like mountains in our eyes
You say, youre unscrupulous!
You say, youre naive!
Synchronized--like magic
Good friends you and me
No hearts of gold
No nerves of steel
No blame for what we can and cannot feel
Sometimes change comes at you
Like a broadside accident
There is chaos to the order
Random things you cant prevent
There could be trouble around the corner
There could be beauty down the street
Synchronized--like magic
Good friends you and me
No hearts of gold
No nerves of steel
No blame for what we can and cannot feel
No nerves of steel
No hearts of gold
No blame for what we can and cant control
Good friends you and me
Good friends you and me

Mona Lisa Who Carries Our Smile
why did mona lisa
become famous?
it's because she
smiles for us
a smile that has
come out
of our system
so real, so smooth
an innocent smile wrung
from all our heart's
leonardo, well leonardo
his colours carry our nerves
that pull the eventual smile
he has seized the moment
and portrayed what is in us in
the most eloquent fashion
so true to the heart
not a stroke from the
wrong side of our elation nerves

Release All Aggravation
There is a way,
One can clear one's mind...
Immediately,
To release all aggravation.
Real and perceived
Pretend those who get on your nerves,
Represent a normalcy.
And in public act crazier,
Than those you see.
You will experience a detachment.
People will leave you alone quickly.
With a peace of mind yours to keep.
To live a life freely!
And enjoying it doing exactly what you please.
Within those limitations you set and believe.

Spitting And The Principle Of Utilitarianism
it starts with a little agitation inside your throat
the nerves send the signal to the brain
for a clearer understanding of this tiny disturbance
reverberating this tickle
not really pain, this mass of liquids telling you
it is a saliva wanting to get out from your system
and all the nerves now keep telling you
there is no use keeping such a mass
of disturbance inside your throat
there is no need anymore
and the last thing you know
is what you did
without regret
you spit it out away from you

I played a Melody of Greenery!
A blade of grass
Yearning for a dropp of water
Greyed in its painful penance..
With a pitiful tremble fed it
With a pailful of water
And quenched its thirst in great humility.
O on the nerves the earth
I played a Melody of Greenery!
