When I was a kid, my step dad started this business and would go out and get lost cows and stuff. He was part-time truck driver, farmer and cowboy. He taught me how to ride from an early age.

Broremann The Farmhand
Broremann, the farmer worker.
Every morning at five thirty sharp, my brother Broremann
had to milk five cows by hand bring bucket full of goodness
to the scullery where maid sifted it and in a churn it went.
He had to start milking Rose first, she was the mother cow
other cows wouldn´t give milk unless he started with her.
After milking Broremann had to clean the barn five cows
make a lot of dung; he pushed it down in a hole in the wall
it was later used to fertilize the land. My brother was proud
of his ability to milk and his hands were, firm yet gentle.
There was a problem though Rose didn´t yield as much milk
as before as she was getting elderly and the farmer sold her
to the knacker’s yard. It was a sad day and the other cows
mooed woefully. The farmer bought a new cow to take Rosa´s
place, but Broremann couldn´t milk her first, as she was new-
comer, so he started with Gerda, now the oldest cow, and milk
the new one last, thus rural peace continued in the cow shed.

Ride Cowboy Ride
Ride cowboy ride
Through the backdoor of Heaven
To the other side
I wanna know the danger of the kiss
At midnight
Ride cowboy ride
Yeah I learned my lessons
Here's a story to tell
So I make my confessions
In this sleazy motel
I could be a romantic
I could try my best lines
But I ain't got the money
And we ain't got the time
Ride cowboy ride
Through the backdoor of Heaven
To the other side
I wanna know the danger of a kiss
At midnight
I wanna be a big shot
Ride ride ride
Ride cowboy ride
Through the backdoor of Heaven
To the other side
I wanna know the danger of the kiss
At midnight

Ride Cowboy Ride
Up in the morning at the break of day
You'll hear a big bearded cowboy at the chuck wagon say
"Gather 'round boys, the coffee's hot on the fire
There's a full day of branding, we're heating the iron
I want to smell that scorched hair and burning hide
The horses have grain boys, they're ready to ride
Roll up your bed rolls and jump in your boots
Daylight is a-wastin', boys, it's out of the shoots"
Come on and ride, cowboy, ride
Roll up your riatas and pull your sombreros down tight
We're going to ride, ride, ride where the trail will wind
You'd better drive, drive, drive or we'll leave you behind
Come on and ride, ride, ride, cowboy, ride
It's a beautiful morning and you've had a good rest
You ropers get ready to be at your best
Saddle them ponies and tighten the cinch (Yahoo!)
Pull on your gloves and take your hat off the fence
We'll take the cattle to market, and after they're sold
You can all let your hair down, get lazy or bold
Riding to town to find a lady or two
She'll take you by the arms and shake the dust off your boots
Come on and ride, cowboy, ride
Roll up your riatas and pull your sombreros down tight
We're going to ride, ride, ride where the trail will wind
You'd better drive, drive, drive or we'll leave you behind
Come on and ride, ride, ride, cowboy, ride
Come on and ride, cowboy, ride
Roll up your riatas and pull your sombreros down tight
We're going to ride, ride, ride where the trail will wind
You'd better drive, drive, drive or we'll leave you behind
Come on and ride, ride, ride, cowboy, ride

Old Timer
He was the best influence
a boy could ever have,
right up there
alongside my dad.
His farm was just across the pasture
from the house I grew up in,
it was over there
that I spent many a day working for and with him.
He taught me so very much
like how to tell right from wrong,
when to be soft and gentle
and when to be brave and strong.
He was part rancher, part farmer
and always a full-time, hard-working, top-hand,
I learned from him to work without complaint
and to ride for the brand.
He showed me how to drive a tractor
long before I could handle a car,
and how to spot a lost calf
hiding at the edge of a field way off far.
We'd talk for hours
while out mending miles of fence,
with a wonderful old-school knowledge
he'd share with me his superlative common sense.
Even though I was young
he treated me fair, just like a grown man,
he told me, always do what's right
and against what's wrong take a firm stand.
Better than most he understood the value
of friendship and loyalty,
so many were the gracious gifts of wisdom
he freely bestowed upon me.
Like how to sit a horse
rope a calf, and milk an ornery old cow,
there's so much more I'd like to tell
but, time and space won't allow.
So here in this little way, I'd just like to say
my hat's off and my heart forever goes out,
to that grand old-timer of my early days
who taught me young, what life is really about.

Ride My See-saw
Ride, ride my see-saw,
Take this place
On this trip
Just for me.
Ride, take a free ride,
Take my place
Have my seat
Its for free.
I worked like a slave for years,
Sweat so hard just to end my fears.
Not to end my life a poor man,
But by now, I know I should have run.
Run, run my last race,
Take my place
Have this number
Of mine.
Run, run like a fire,
Dont you run in
In the lanes
Run for time.
Left school with a first class pass,
Started work but as second class.
School taught one and one is two.
But right now, that answer just aint true.
Ah ah ah ah, ah ah ah ah, ah ah ah ah ah
Ah ah ah ah, ah ah ah ah, ah ah ah ah ah
My world is spinning around,
Everything is lost that I found.
People run, come ride with me,
Lets find another place thats free.
Ride, ride my see-saw,
Take this place
On this trip
Just for me.
Ride, take a free ride,
Take my place
Have my seat
Its for free.
Ride, my see-saw.
Ride, ride, ride, my see-saw.
Ride, my see-saw...

Would You Wear a Cowboy Hat for Me
Would you wear a cowboy hat for me?
Even though I know you are a big city boy
I can’t help but like those cowboy hats, you see
So would you wear a cowboy hat for me?
A ten gallon hat, yeah black, now that’s the key
Please say yes, do not be coy
So would you wear a cowboy hat for me?
Even though I know you are a big city boy
Would you wear cowboy boots for me?
Even though I know you are a big city boy
I can’t help but to like those cowboy boots, you see
So would you wear cowboy boots for me?
Rawhide leather, pointy and spurs yeah that’s the key
Please say yes, do not be coy
So would you wear cowboy boots for me?
Even though I know you are a big city boy
Would you ride a horse for me?
Even though I know you are a big city boy
I can’t help but to like horses you see
So would you ride a horse for me?
Stallion, mustang, any kind would be
Please say yes, do not be coy
So would you ride a horse for me?
Even though I know you are a big city boy
Even though you are a big city boy
You ride a horse that’s black
Wear cowboy boots and a ten gallon hat
How can it be - you are now my cowboy

Ridin The Rodeo
Driving all night too many miles to go
Pedal tot he metal listenin to the radio
I got three days to get from cheyenne to san antone
Thats the life of a cowboy ridin the rodeo
My back sides sore and Im movin kinda slow
But when I hit okie city theres a barrel racer that I know

Space Cowboy
Riprock, AG
Come in over
Yo, turn me up
I wanna be heard
See, I'm talking bout the future y'all
And the future looks bright
'specially when we rip in half
Here it comes, millennium
And everybody's talkin' bout Jerusalem
Is this the beginning or beginning of the end?
Well, I've got other thoughts my friend
See I've got my eyes on the skies
The heavenly bodies up high
And if you're in the mood to take a ride
Then strap on a suit and get inside
If you wanna fly, come and take a ride
Take a space ride with the cowboy, baby
If you wanna fly, come and take a ride
Take a space ride with the cowboy, baby

We don't need all these prophecies
Telling us what's a sign, what's a sign
Cause paranoia ain't the way to live your life from day to day
So leave your doubts and your fears behind
Don't be afraid at all
Cause up in outer space there's no gravity to fall
Put your mind and your body to the test
Cuz up in outer space is like the wild wild west
If you wanna fly, come and take a ride
Take a space ride with the cowboy, baby

Born to fly sky high up to the top see

To make these moves and take flight like me
To come through for the world prophecy

Lonesome Cowboy
(words & music by sid tepper - roy c. bennett)
I am just a lonesome cowboy
And Im travelling all alone
I aint even got a nickel
To call my baby on the phone
Just beyond the mountain lies a city
And I hear it calling me
Saddle up and ride you lonesome cowboy
Here is where youll find your destiny
In my dreams the lights shine bright and pretty
Near to me and yet so far
Will I always be a lonesome cowboy
Am I only reaching for a star
Ride. ride, ride, ride along cowboy
Sing, sing, sing, sing a song cowboy
Will I ever leave this lonesome valley
Really see the lights that shine
Gotta find what lies beyond the mountain
Gotta rope and tie that dream of mine
I am just a lonesome cowboy
And Im travelling all alone
If you dont call me baby
Then Im never coming home

Cowbay Boogie
Well, He swings in a saddle
He's a real gone cat
With his spanish spurs
And his buckaroo hat
His camps in an old log shack
Way back in the sticks.
He loves ta tie 'em down
And burn their hide
And there ain't no rough string
He can't ride
But cuttin' the rug is how he
Gets his kicks.
He does the cowboy boogie
The cowboy way
The cowboy boogie
Come a ti-i youpy, youpy yi i youpy, youpy ya.
So it's adios to his old payoose
And down the road to turn it loose
At an old dance hall
He cuts a gal now straight
Spins her sideways through the herd
He's buckin' like he's being spurred
Twistin' and rockin' like a bronc
Comin' outta the gate.
He does the cowboy boogie
The cowboy way
The cowboy boogie
Come a ti-i youpy, youpy yi i youpy, youpy ya.
--- Instrumental ---
Well, He swings in a saddle
He's a real gone cat
With his spanish spurs
And his buckaroo hat
A tree frog walkin' fool
He ain't no dude
The Fred Astaire of hill and range
Two parts cool and one part strange
He's the best out west at any Elvis tune.
He does the cowboy boogie
The cowboy way
The cowboy boogie
Come a ti-i youpy, youpy yi i youpy, youpy ya.
He does the cowboy boogie
The cowboy way
The cowboy boogie
Come a ti-i youpy, youpy
A yi i youpy, youpy.
Come a ti-i youpy, youpy
A yi i youpy, youpy.
Come a ti-i youpy, youpy
yi i youpy, youpy ya...

Truck Drivin Man
(ronnie vanzant -- ed king)
Well hes truckin on down from memphis
Cruisin down to new orleans
Tonight he sleeps alone with a cajun queen
Well theres smoke from the stacks a-blowin
And he dont care where hes goin
The only time he feels right is when hes rollin
Hes got roadmaps in his hand
Lord, drivin just as hard as he can
Trying to dodge them scales and the man
Well Im talkin about
Truck drivin man
Yea hell always give ya, the best that he can.
White cups and coffee, lord yea
Its all that he needs
And hes all right by me
Truck drivin man
Truck on
Truck driver
Shift your gears
Hes got ladies up in north dakota
From the keys man, to minnesota
And he loves each and every one, least thats what hes told em
Lord, flannel shirts and blue jeans
Truck stops are routine
Tonight he sleeps alone with a cajun queen
Well Im talkin about
Truck drivin man
Yea hell always give ya, the best that he can.
White cups and coffee, lord yea
Its all that he needs
And hes all right by me
Truck drivin man
Guitar
Truck driver
Well hes truckin on down from memphis
Cruisin down to new orleans
Tonight he sleeps alone with a cajun queen
Well theres smoke from the stacks a-blowin
And he dont care where hes goin
The only time he feels right is when hes rollin
Well Im talkin about

Yea hell always give ya, the best that he can.
White cups and coffee, lord yea
Its all that he needs
And hes all right by me

I said hes all right by me
Truck drivin man
I said hes all right by me

Play the guitar

Knocked And Ran
He, on a road, was standing
Ignorant of the road-laws.
He was in his tattered clothes;
A poor village child he was.
I was sitting in a car
On the left of the driver.
When the car came near the child,
It was slowed by the driver.
He sounded aloud the horn,
But the child did not it care.
The child, in his tattered clothes,
Remained standing mutely there.
He was aping the gesture
Of the driver of the car.
How joyful in his action,
As if he were in the car!
He was moving round his arms
In driving his unreal car.
The driver, taking the side,
Safely steered his real car.
But a truck from the front side
Down the road speedily ran.
The child, in his tattered clothes,
The truck driver knocked and ran.

I'd Rather Be A Cowboy
This song appears on six albums, and was first released on the farewell andromeda album, and has also been released on the changes, country classics, the country roads collection and the rocky m
In collection albums. a live version also appears on the best of john denver live album.
Jesse went away last summer, a couple of months ago
After all our time together, it was hard to see her go
She called me right up when she arrived, asked me one more time to come
Or livin' on an la freeway, ain't my kinda havin' fun
I think i'd rather be a cowboy
I think i'd rather ride the reigns
I think i'd rather be a cowboy
Then to lay me down and love the lady's chains
We were just beginnin', it was such an easy way
Layin' back up in the mountains, makin' songs for summer days
She got tired of pickin' daisies, cookin' my meals for me
She can live the life she wants to, yes, it's alright with me
I think i'd rather be a cowboy
I think i'd rather ride the reigns
I think i'd rather be a cowboy
Then to lay me down and love the lady's chains
I'd rather live on the side of a mountain
Than wander through canyons of concrete and steel
I'd rather laugh with the rain and the sunshine
Then lay down my sun down in some starry field
Oh, but i miss her in the morning, when i awake alone
The absence of her laughter, is a cold and empty sound
But her memory always makes me smile, and i want you to know
I love her yes i love her, just enough to let her go
I think i'd rather be a cowboy
I think i'd rather ride the reigns
I think i'd rather be a cowboy
Then to lay me down and love the lady's chains
I think i'd rather be a cowboy
I think i'd rather ride the reigns
I think i'd rather be a cowboy
Then to lay me down and love lady's chains

White Truck Speeds By
I’m driving down Federal on the way to my new home,
I sense that I am not alone.
I look up to see a truck following me,
Or so I thought-
Taking a right I turn down 6th Ave.
I stop in Wallgreens parking lot.
I go through all my stuff that I packed,
I get in my car and I get back on track.
Then as I was sitting at the light,
I notice Guy’s truck real shiny and bright.
His white truck passes and roars,
I see the name of his business on his side doors.
I thought do I text him or not?
Looks like he speed so he won’t get caught.
Caught by me seeing him drive by,
Oh, well I decide to call it a night.

Little Cowboys Cry
(monte thomas)
Theres a little boy on his knees beside his bed
With a cowboy hat upon his bowed head
Tryin to keep the tears in his eyes
And his heart breaks as the little cowboy cries
As the cowboy cries
He says God forgive me please
I didnt want my daddy to leave
And I promise to be good this time
But his heart breaks as the little cowboy cries
Theres another heart in pain outside his door
His momma heard him cry as she walked the floor
Her love for his daddy has died
And her heart breaks as her little cowboy cries
As her cowboy cries
She says God forgive me please
I know I made him leave
But the pain will go away in time
But her heart breaks as her little cowboy cries
In a smoky little bar way downtown
His daddy is drinkin whiskey down
Tryin to kill the pain he feels inside
And his heart breaks as his little cowboy cries
And his cowboy cries
He says God forgive me please
I know I had to leave
Things havent been good for a long, long time
And his heart breaks as his little cowboy cries
As his cowboy cries
As his cowboy cries
As his cowboy cries
As his cowboy cries
As the cowboy cries
As the cowboy cries
As the cowboy cries
As the cowboy cries

Big Ol Truck
(toby keith)
Yeah you can see the girl comin
From a mile away
Shes got her big wheels turnin
Shes got oklahoma plates
Shes got her sun roof up
Shes got her windows rolled down
And you oughta feel the ground shakin
When she comes to town
Yeah Im in love with the girl in the four-wheel drive
Chrome steel bumpers and red step side
She has a large time in her large machine
Man I wonder how she gets up in that thing
It casts a big shadow sittin in the sun
Shes got it revved up rockin ready to run
And someday soon Im gonna climb right up
And take a little ride in her big ol truck
Shes got bucket seats fully customized
In your wildest dreams painted on the side
It was built to run, she was built to show
Shes got a haggard hit playin on her stereo
Yeah Im in love with the girl in the four-wheel drive
Chrome steel bumpers and red step side
She has a large time in her large machine
Man I wonder how she gets up in that thing
It casts a big shadow sittin in the sun
Shes got it revved up rockin ready to run
And someday soon Im gonna climb right up
And take a little ride in her big ol truck
Yeah Im in love with the girl in the four-wheel drive

Man I wonder how she gets up in that thing
It casts a big shadow sittin in the sun
Shes got it revved up rockin ready to run
And someday soon Im gonna climb right up
And take a little ride in her big ol truck
Big ol truck
Ten feet tall, ten feet wide
Its a big ol truck
Here she comes again man

The Borderline
In a cloud of dust cross Texas south of San Antone
The lawman and the cowboy pushed their horses on
Racin' toward the Rio running out of time
They had to catch the Outlaws before they crossed the borderline
Well the lawman wanted justice the cowboy revenge
They tracked the Outlaws' horses up to the river's edge
And there across the Rio a badge ain't worth a dime
The law was in their own hands once they crossed the borderline
So they ride to the desert wind down a dusty trail destiny begins
Heroes never turn or look back
They just ride through the sands of time on the borderline
In the safety of the badlands the Outlaws stopped their run
The campfire rings with laughter of evil things they've done
How they'd taken all they wanted and killed the cowboy's wife
And knew no one would follow them cross the borderline
The lawman and the cowboys stepped out of the dark
And it was two against the twenty and every bullet found its mark
And so goes the legend that out there in the night
The two still ride together somewhere beyond the borderline
So they ride to the desert wind...
So they ride to the desert wind...
So they ride to the desert wind...
