White Truck Speeds By

I’m driving down Federal on the way to my new home,
I sense that I am not alone.
I look up to see a truck following me,
Or so I thought-
Taking a right I turn down 6th Ave.
I stop in Wallgreens parking lot.
I go through all my stuff that I packed,
I get in my car and I get back on track.
Then as I was sitting at the light,
I notice Guy’s truck real shiny and bright.
His white truck passes and roars,
I see the name of his business on his side doors.
I thought do I text him or not?
Looks like he speed so he won’t get caught.
Caught by me seeing him drive by,
Oh, well I decide to call it a night.

Golden Balls

Red Chevy truck comes passing by,

with gold balls hanging bouncing

in the sky.

Truck zooms around all cars

without a care.

Golden balls wagging

in the air.

Now I heard of a comedian

talking of these “golden balls”

on stage,

She said “Why is “gold balls” all the rage? ”

Guys real balls are ugly enough,

looking at them hanging outside

a car or a truck

makes you shiver inside,

I think I would rather look at

something else when I drive.'

Hot

she was hot, she was so hot
I didn't want anybody else to have her,
and if I didn't get home on time
she'd be gone, and I couldn't bear that-
I'd go mad. . .
it was foolish I know, childish,
but I was caught in it, I was caught.
I delivered all the mail
and then Henderson put me on the night pickup run
in an old army truck,
the damn thing began to heat halfway through the run
and the night went on
me thinking about my hot Miriam
and jumping in and out of the truck
filling mailsacks
the engine continuing to heat up
the temperature needle was at the top
HOT HOT
like Miriam.
leaped in and out
3 more pickups and into the station
I'd be, my car
waiting to get me to Miriam who sat on my blue couch
with scotch on the rocks
crossing her legs and swinging her ankles
like she did,
2 more stops. . .
the truck stalled at a traffic light, it was hell
kicking it over
again. . .
I had to be home by 8,8 was the deadline for Miriam.
I made the last pickup and the truck stalled at a signal
1/2 block from the station. . .
it wouldn't start, it couldn't start. . .
I locked the doors, pulled the key and ran down to the
station. . .
I threw the keys down. . .signed out. . .
your goddamned truck is stalled at the signal,
I shouted,
Pico and Western. . .
. . .I ran down the hall, put the key into the door,
opened it. . .her drinking glass was there, and a note:

White Trucks Galore

It was on the day of the 24th
I saw white pickup trucks heading south and north.
Now that was unusual I do say
it didn't happen again till pass the
month of May.
It happened in June -
but instead of one now there is two-
white trucks appear out of the blue.
Maybe I am suppose to buy a white truck—
maybe I will have all kinds of luck—
I know I can't play a truck in the lottery game—
but I can buy one and on the back put my name.

The Trash Men

here they come
these guys
grey truck
radio playing

they are in a hurry

it’s quite exciting:
shirt open
bellies hanging out

they run out the trash bins
roll them out to the fork lift
and then the truck grinds it upward
with far too much sound . . .

they had to fill out application forms
to get these jobs
they are paying for homes and
drive late model cars

they get drunk on Saturday night

now in the Los Angeles sunshine
they run back and forth with their trash bins

all that trash goes somewhere

and they shout to each other

then they are all up in the truck
driving west toward the sea

none of them know
that I am alive

Country Comfort

Soon the pines will be falling everywhere
As the village children fight each other for their share
And the six-o-nine goes roaring past the creek
As Deacon Lee prepares his sermon for next week
I saw Grandma yesterday down at the store
Well she's really doing fine for eighty-four
And she asked me if sometime I could fix her barn
The poor old girl she needs a hand to run that farm
Chorus:
And it's good old country comfort in my bones
It's the sweetest sound these ears have ever known
It's just an old-fashioned feeling fully-grown
Country comfort and a truck that's goin' back home
Oh it's goin' back home
Down at the well they've got a new machine
The foreman says it'll cut manpower by fifteen
"Hey but that ain't natural" old Clay would say
You see he's a horse-drawn man until his dying day
(REPEAT CHORUS TWICE)
Country comfort and a truck that's goin' back home
Whoa, it's goin' back home
Hey take me back home
And a truck, and a truck that's goin' back home
Any truck

There Is A Light That Never Goes Out

Take me out tonight
Where theres music and theres people
And theyre young and alive
Driving in your car
I never never want to go home
Because I havent got one
Anymore
Take me out tonight
Because I want to see people and i
Want to see life
Driving in your car
Oh, please dont drop me home
Because its not my home, its their
Home, and Im welcome no more
And if a double-decker bus
Crashes into us
To die by your side
Is such a heavenly way to die
And if a ten-ton truck
Kills the both of us
To die by your side
Well, the pleasure - the privilege is mine
Take me out tonight
Take me anywhere, I dont care
I dont care, I dont care
And in the darkened underpass
I thought oh god, my chance has come at last
(but then a strange fear gripped me and i
Just couldnt ask)
Take me out tonight
Oh, take me anywhere, I dont care
I dont care, I dont care
Driving in your car
I never never want to go home
Because I havent got one, da ...
Oh, I havent got one
And if a double-decker bus
Crashes into us
To die by your side
Is such a heavenly way to die
And if a ten-ton truck
Kills the both of us
To die by your side
Well, the pleasure - the privilege is mine

There is a light and it never goes out

Mr. Big Toe Goes To The Window

Mr. Big Toe, Mr. Big Toe wouldn’t you know,
drives up to the take out window.
He orders a burger with Hamburger Help hand by his side,
they were driving around town having a fun time.
Then Mr. Big Toe gets really stuffed,
now he is in a big grumpy gruff.
He tells Mrs. Hamburger Helper to get out of his truck.
Mrs.Hamburger Helper say’s _______ off!
They realize they were not meant to be,
Hamburger Helper hand doesn’t smell that pretty.

Caught With Your Pants Down

Runnin round with the wrong crowd
Goin out on a last stand
Playin too hard an too loud
Bad cards in a bad hand
Wanna dance, wanna sing
Whip you with that lickin thing
Tonight Im gonna kick up
Out drivin in a big truck
An maybe Ill get beat up
Caught with your pants down
Lining up for a roll call
Goin out with a big bang
Gettin caught in a shootout
Take it hard like a big man
Woman workin so hot
Givin it everything you got
Just like its never gonna stop
Tonight Im gonna kick up
Out drivin in a big truck
An maybe Ill get beat up
Caught with your pants down
She take em down down down
She rip off her stockins when the place start rockin
She was a woman with a mission, stick it in your face
Caught with your pants down

Knocked And Ran

He, on a road, was standing
Ignorant of the road-laws.
He was in his tattered clothes;
A poor village child he was.

I was sitting in a car
On the left of the driver.
When the car came near the child,
It was slowed by the driver.

He sounded aloud the horn,
But the child did not it care.
The child, in his tattered clothes,
Remained standing mutely there.

He was aping the gesture
Of the driver of the car.
How joyful in his action,
As if he were in the car!

He was moving round his arms
In driving his unreal car.
The driver, taking the side,
Safely steered his real car.

But a truck from the front side
Down the road speedily ran.
The child, in his tattered clothes,
The truck driver knocked and ran.

Truck Drivin Song

Im drivin a truck
Drivin a big ol truck
Pedal to the metal, hope I dont run out of luck
Rollin down the highway until the break of dawn
Drivin a truck with my high heels on
My diesel rig is northward bound
Its time to put that hammer down
Just watchin as the miles go flyin by
Im ridin twenty tons of steel
But its sure hard to hold the wheel
While Im waiting for my nails to dry
Oh, I always gotta check my lipstick in that rear view mirror
And my pink angora sweater fits so tight
Im jammin gears and haulin freight
Well, I sure hope my seams are straight
Lord, dont let my mascara run tonight
Because Im drivin a truck
Drivin a big ol truck
Smokeys on my tail and my accelerators stuck
Got these eighteen wheels-a-rollin until the break of dawn
Drivin a truck with my high heels on
Oh, I dont mind when my crotchless panties creep right up on me
And my nipple rings dont bother me too much
But when I hit those big speed bumps
My darling little rhinestone pumps
Keep slippin off the mother-lovin clutch
But still Im drivin a truck
Drivin a big ol truck
Headin down the interstate, just tryin to make a buck
Wearin feather boas with sequins and chiffon
While Im drivin a truck with my high heels on
Im drivin a truck
Drivin a truck
Got a load to carry and some eyebrows left to pluck
And Im late for my appointment down at my hair salon
So Ill be drivin a truck with my high heels on

Truck Drivin Man

(ronnie vanzant -- ed king)
Well hes truckin on down from memphis
Cruisin down to new orleans
Tonight he sleeps alone with a cajun queen
Well theres smoke from the stacks a-blowin
And he dont care where hes goin
The only time he feels right is when hes rollin
Hes got roadmaps in his hand
Lord, drivin just as hard as he can
Trying to dodge them scales and the man
Well Im talkin about
Truck drivin man
Yea hell always give ya, the best that he can.
White cups and coffee, lord yea
Its all that he needs
And hes all right by me
Truck drivin man
Truck on
Truck driver
Shift your gears
Hes got ladies up in north dakota
From the keys man, to minnesota
And he loves each and every one, least thats what hes told em
Lord, flannel shirts and blue jeans
Truck stops are routine
Tonight he sleeps alone with a cajun queen
Well Im talkin about
Truck drivin man
Yea hell always give ya, the best that he can.
White cups and coffee, lord yea
Its all that he needs
And hes all right by me
Truck drivin man
Guitar
Truck driver
Well hes truckin on down from memphis
Cruisin down to new orleans
Tonight he sleeps alone with a cajun queen
Well theres smoke from the stacks a-blowin
And he dont care where hes goin
The only time he feels right is when hes rollin
Well Im talkin about
Truck drivin man
Yea hell always give ya, the best that he can.
White cups and coffee, lord yea
Its all that he needs
And hes all right by me
Truck drivin man
I said hes all right by me
Truck drivin man
I said hes all right by me
Truck drivin man

California Here I Am

Californian here I come,
My dreams have just begun.
I can’t wait to jump on board,
Like a knight with a sword.
I will win this battle cry,
Like many times I had to die.
For what I believe in and then some more,
I can’t wait to see what’s in store.
For I can no longer can turn back,
I have no choice, I’m right on track.
The rainbow is on the other side,
That is where I will find,
All the jewels awaiting me,
Bringing me to my Victory.

Coal-Truck

I am a coal-truck
Carrying gold dust.
Someone threw some
Coal-dust upon
My gold-dust.

I am a coal-truck
In a gold mine.
Someone struck a coal vein
And piled me full in vain.

I am a coal-truck
Covered in subterranean dust.
Someone shovelled my soil
And found an ancient bone
All coiled.

I am a coal-truck
Waiting for the rain.
The sun is my rail
The night my shed.

I am a coal-truck
Rumbling all the way.
Wash me in the rain-storm
And fill me full of coke
Until I choke.

Tony The Race Car Driver

His name is Tony, but I call him Tone,
he has a D.J. business to play your songs,
while you dance all night long.
Now I met him one night on New Year’s Eve,
I was dancing on a table and did not see,
Tony sitting below me at the bar,
he smiled at me then gave me his business card.
Scorpio was the name of his D.J. business,
he also plays the drums, I do confess.
Now, he has one shy Persian cat,
she hides under the couch,
no one knows where’s she’s at.
Other than that, he watches football
Fan of the Pittsburg Stealers,
they lost over Wisc. last year, people where squealing.
Tony has a red corvette that I can’t drive,
Tony goes real fast, thank God he’s still alive.
Now Tony and his Uncle Lenny are really fun,
they always joking around with everyone.
Thanks Tone, I hope you get the girl,
and she colors your world.

It's Too Late To Worry

(Danny Wells/Anthony Smith/Ron Harbin)
Billy Joe had a bumper sticker on the back of his beatup Chevrolet
Said this truck eats fords for lunch so I pulled up beside him my new mustang
I was just getting ready to say boy that trucks seen it's last meal
wheel
Chorus:
Mornin' sun found a new mustang
Abandoned in a Walmart parking lot
Mud on the seats so don't tell me away
Didn't stop the gossip tongues from waggin'
'Til next day somewhere around 3 o'clock
No tellin' what they're talkin about
What's going 'round
It's too late to worry about that now
Where do men so big and bad learn all them words so sweet and soft
It made my world spin 'round so fast I thought it was gonna sling me off
Red mud on the finders might have gave a clue as to where we'd been
And no one knows just what went on except the moon, me and him
Repeat chorus
Now that we come showin' up
Rumors bouncin' off of that truck
Just a let 'em stare at him and me
'Cause I don't care about anything but us
Repeat chorus
