Intuitive vs cognitive thinking
A bat and a ball cost a dollar ten
The bat cost one dollar more than the ball.
Pray tell, how much does the ball cost?
How quickly the answer seems to fall!
If, like most, you said ten cents
You’re lazy and prone not to think (as am I)
For the correct answer, be not
ten cents my friend (no lie!)
For you I most certainly would not jive
If you think, more than a few blinks
You’ll see your answer stinks
For the cost of the ball is not ten cents at all
But at the cost of some thinking…
Is five!

Having-Less-Is-More
Money isn't 'everything' you know?
'Ooooohhh mon ami,
Big dummy you!
YOUR money may not be 'everything'.
Or not nearly what it use to be.
However...
SOMEWHERE someone is spending it,
Caring less about your limitation.
Or who has good or bad or indifferent credit.
And they have yet to accept greed as a motive,
To live a happy life! '
I am not referring to foreigners,
I am talking about us...
Living today in 'this' country.
'Oh?
I see.
So you've already adopted,
That 'Having-Less-Is-More' attitude?
Good for you.
You make me proud.
But as for me...
Give me a ten dollar bill anytime.
Even a five dollar bill,
Seems less than a dollar these days.'

Gun control? We need bullet control! I think every bullet should cost 5,000 dollars. Because if a bullet cost five thousand dollar, we wouldn't have any innocent bystanders.

Million Dollar Face
You were hungry for the lights,
You spent your nights with socialites
Youre a million-dollar baby
With the million dollar blues
And you only gave your time to people you could use
Million dollar face with million dollar grace
You got off to a real bad start
Million dollar face in million dollar lace
You wound with a two cent heart
You were mine for just a little while
But true to style and with a smile you said,
I have to leave you, baby, hold me one more time
cause I know where I should be and its a long hard climb
Million dollar face with million dollar grace
You got off to a real bad start
Million dollar face in million dollar lace
You wound with a two cent heart
Million dollar face with million dollar grace
You got off to a real bad start
Million dollar face in million dollar lace
You wound with a two cent heart

Silver Dollar
I shouldve known you couldnt take it
You had to make it with another man
You know thats true baby
And I can play that game if you can
Its been a long time since Ive come here
To give you what you need
My roots are in chicago
But I know where I want to plant my seed
I bet a silver dollar youd love another
And you know that silver dollar, it would make me rich
Girl like you, easy pitch
But I miss you now youre gone
Im coming home girl just to show you
Whats this mans been living for
A tip for you, dont be surprised baby
When I come busting through that door
I bet a silver dollar youd love another
And even though that silver dollar would make me rich
I want to tell you that there is a hitch
I miss you know youre gone
And all I got left is my old guitar

Last Dollar On Earth
Yeah!
Line up!
Step right this way to see the last dollar on earth
Sign up!
The bus leaves today to see the last dollar on earth
Behold the wonder of the modern age
Displayed resplendent in its gilded cage
Theres not another in the world today,
And you just cant take it with you
All night!
Theres a special tonight about the last dollar on earth
Thats right!
And all the pundits were right about the last dollar on earth
Its always occupied a special space
We keep a guard around it just in case
Many have died to have its fleeting grace,
But you just cant take it with you
Get set!
Only one pint of blood
To see the last dollar on earth
No sweat!
Only one ounce of flesh to touch the last dollar on earth
When we lose exposure in its permanent enclosure
Then you can be sure that well take it on tour
So when it comes to call at your local shopping mall
Though the crowds may be large,
You can put it on your mastercharge

Million Dollar Bash (1)
by Bob Dylan
Well, that big dumb blonde
With her wheel in the gorge
And Turtle, that friend of theirs
With his checks all forged
And his cheeks in a chunk
With his cheese in the cash
They're all gonna be there
At that million dollar bash
Ooh, baby, ooh-ee
Ooh, baby, ooh-ee
It's that million dollar bash
Ev'rybody from right now
To over there and back
The louder they come
The harder they crack
Come now, sweet cream
Don't forget to flash
We're all gonna meet
At that million dollar bash
Ooh, baby, ooh-ee
Ooh, baby, ooh-ee
It's that million dollar bash
Well, I took my counselor
Out to the barn
Silly Nelly was there
She told him a yarn
Then along came Jones
Emptied the trash
Ev'rybody went down
To that million dollar bash
Ooh, baby, ooh-ee
Ooh, baby, ooh-ee
It's that million dollar bash
Well, I'm hittin' it too hard
My stones won't take
I get up in the mornin'
But it's too early to wake
First it's hello, goodbye
Then push and then crash
But we're all gonna make it
At that million dollar bash
Ooh, baby, ooh-ee
Ooh, baby, ooh-ee
It's that million dollar bash
Well, I looked at my watch
I looked at my wrist
Punched myself in the face
With my fist
I took my potatoes
Down to be mashed
Then I made it over
To that million dollar bash
Ooh, baby, ooh-ee
Ooh, baby, ooh-ee
It's that million dollar bash

Ale
Now do I hear thee weep and groan,
Who hath a comrade sunk at sea?
Then quaff thee of my good old ale,
And it will raise him up for thee;
Thoul't think as little of him then
As when he moved with living men.
If thou hast hopes to move the world,
And every effort it doth fail,
Then to thy side call Jack and Jim,
And bid them drink with thee good ale;
So may the world, that would not hear,
Perish in hell with all your care.
One quart of good ale, and I
Feel then what life immortal is:
The brain is empty of all thought,
The heart is brimming o'er with bliss;
Time's first child, Life, doth live; but Death,
The second, hath not yet his breath.
Give me a quart of good old ale,
Am I a homeless man on earth?
Nay, I want not your roof and quilt,
I'll lie warm at the moon's cold hearth;
No grumbling ghost to grudge my bed,
His grave, ha! ha! holds up my head.

The Cost Of Living
The cost of living is the price we pay
for all those things we need each day
and when calculated over a period of time
works out to a figure that’s likely to climb.
And if our wants go far beyond our needs
we have to get paid well then for our deeds.
But if what we earn can’t match that pace
we’ll have to slow down and not lose face.
Or perhaps consider some additional means
to support what we take on as our routines.
When our lifestyle doesn’t make a hole in our pocket
and the cost of living where we are doesn’t skyrocket
then the rate of inflation there is said to be low
so we can afford to buy those things we know.

THE COST...by Talile Ali
V1
ALWAYS AVOIDED FAME
AFRAID TO PAY THE COST
LOSS OF FAMILY
FRIEND'S WHO ALL ARE LOST
THERE IS NO DENYING
THE NEED TO SERVE IS STRONG
THE COST OF SERVICE EXPENSIVE
THAT'S NOT TO SAY IT'S WRONG
CHORUS
BUT IT'S THE COST
IT'S THE COST
GOTTA PAY THE PIPER
OR ELSE YOU'LL BE TOSSED
IT'S THE COST
V2
LOVE IS PLAIN AND SIMPLE
HEART IS STRONG AND TRUE
EPIPHANIES ARE FLOWING
WANT TO SHARE WITH YOU
SO I WRITE AND PERFORM
AND YOU SEE MY NEED
TO DO THIS HERE SERVICE
FOR EVERYONE'S THAT'S PLEASED
JAM FOR 24 BARS
CHORUS
BUT IT'S THE COST
IT'S THE COST
GOTTA PAY THE PIPER
OR ELSE YOU'LL BE TOSSED
IT'S THE COST
FADE OUT

Living In Oz
Ever since I was a kid
I remember having dreams of grandeur
I was gonna be someone, I know what I want
Everybody played second best
And I held you back just like all the rest
I think I got what I want
Everybodys got to fight their demons
And you know I had to fight mine, too
It took a lot out of me, it took a lot out of you
To be living in oz, living in oz
Sometimes the dream can wake you
Living in oz, living in oz
Sometimes the dream can shock you, too
All the money that I spend on you
Doesnt mean a thing if the loves not true
Baby please, Ill get what you want
Cant you tell me you and me aint lost
I know what I did, I know what it cost
Now Im yours and Ive got what you want
All the fightin will have been for nothin
If at the end I cant have you
Ill throw it all away if thats what you want me to do
Living in oz, living in oz
Sometimes the dream can wake you
Living in oz, living in oz
Sometimes the dream can shake you, too
Funny how desire can burn you up inside
And make you commit emotional suicide
Everybodys got the desire to leave their mark
Some just do it over a trail of broken hearts
And all the people that protect and serve
Would disappear if the well dried up
Im thirsty for affection
Let me drink from your loving cup
Living in oz, living in oz
Sometimes the dream can shock you
Living in oz, living in oz
Sometimes the dream can rock you
Living in oz, living in oz
Sometimes the dream can shake you
Living in oz, living in oz
Sometimes the dream can wake you, too

The Dollar Stores Feb 6th 2011
There’s some guy or girl out in China right now making stuff,
For me and you in the dollar store and it’s never enough,
Inside a plastic package that’s very hard to pull apart,
How did all this come about and when did it all start?
And they usually have enough cashiers so I can get out,
Not like some stores where a lack of cashiers put me in deep doubt,
But the dollar store passing multitudes, seem cheerful enough,
Although they have to sell one hell of a pile of dollar stuff.
I just hope the present national relationships persist,
And we don’t start behaving like the others don’t exist,
And the dollar stores remain where they are for a long long time,
Because at the dollar store, you can save a lot more than a dime

An Old Tightwad
The passing of the Seasons has left her looking gray
She is one who has known a far better day
She owns her own house and she drives her own car
But for one tighter with money than she is one might have to go far
Her favourite phrase ' money is my true friend'
And she misses every dollar that she has to spend
With teenage great grandchildren her husband dead for ten years
But 'twas not for him that she shed any tears
But at the cost of his burial she did feel heartache
Though for him she did not even have a wake
'Tis said in assets and money she's a multi millionaire
But with her descendants any she does not share
Though in death she cannot take her wealth with her she does not have a will
The one who wept at the cost of her husband's funeral bill.
