Another statistic

i Don't wanna be another statistic
some girl who has no money
who steals to help and support
a girl who has nothing
or no one anymore

i dont wanna be another statistic
some suicidal teen
who has nothing left to live for
and nothing to believe

i dont wanna be another statistic
someone who gets in trouble
for nothing and everything
someone with bad grades
who has no chance of graduating

i dont wanna be another statistic
a girl who doesnt go to college
and one who doesnt graduate
or has a college degree
to be a young girl, a slum in the streets

i dont wanna be another statistic
another girl locked up
who doesnt have a famiy
cause they cant keep thenselves straight

i dont wanna be another statistic
a girl who just wanted fun
didnt use protection
didnt think the consequences
pregnant without a father
no money or support

i dont wanna be a statistic
a girl without a dream
crushed by other people
cause they didnt think it could ever be
now shes living on the streets
begging people for money

i dont wanna be another statistic
a girl so well behaved
so sweet
with everything going for her
left alone one night
trauma turned her around
now shes gone
i dont wanna end up dead, poor, pregnant or even a dropp out.
i dont wanna get in trouble, locked up, or homeless
i'll be me
i wont let anyone change who i am

Stalin

Stalin was a lovely guy,
He let 42 million people die.
In case you wonder why,
He said it was 'just a statistic'.

What then is tragedy? In the Elizabethan period it was assumed that a play ending in death was a tragedy, but in recent years we have come to understand that to live on is sometimes far more tragic than death.

A Sad Story

How was one a travesty
And genocide but another
Statistic daily

Who was here first
Man or Earth or
God

And if the farm
Be for the people
Why do we rush and wish
Other people gone

In today's statistic daily
Another million gone

Or is it because the earth
Has to ventilate

No excuses made

If i had to choose
Between my farm and my son
The farm is surely gone

If i had to choose
Between my son and my God
Surely the son be gone

But thankfully
There is no choice
To be made today

But travesty and statistics
Still have their way

Posthuman

Shes got eyes like zapruder
And a mouth like heroin
She wants me to be
Perfect like kennedy
This isnt god, this isnt god
God is just a statistic,
God is just a statistic
Say,
Show me the dead stars,
All of them sing.
This is a riot
Religious and clean
God is a number you cannot count to
You are posthuman and hardwired
Shes pilgrim and pagan
Softworn and so-cial
In all of her dreams
Shes a saint like jackie-o
This isnt god, this isnt god
God is just a statistic,
God is just a statistic
Say,
Show me the dead stars,
All of them sing.
This is a riot
Religious and clean
Coma white:
All that glitters is cold, all that glitters is cold

Happy Fourth of July America!

Wanna' know how many lil' kids
Go to bed hungry in the U.SA
Each night?

If I said "over a million"
Would you sleep any
less sound tonight?

And how many of you
Would agree with me
That being a kid can be rough?

Well…over six million American kids
Get either very little food…each day
Or simply not enough.

Feelin' uncomfortable yet? I hope so! ! !
Think about it, when you're chowin' down
This bountiful 4th of July

Foreign aid paid in one year to 150 countries
Including some enemies, is 58 billion, more or less
All paid by you and I

Our roads and bridges need 2.2 trillion dollars
To be repaired and fixed
And brought up to a safe state

And all the while America crumbles
We've spent more than a trillion (not including Libya)
If futile wars in Afghanistan and Iraq… to date

And one other lil' statistic That I carped about before
on the 4th of July a couple years ago
In a little noticed, seemingly inconsequential poem

Has grown to 6440 American boys killed in action
I hate this statistic! ! It's cruel and sadistic! !
And By God… they should have been kept home! ! !

These are numbers and statistics
Too great for comprehension… by
Ordinary people like you and I

But I hope there's someone out there
That I've made a little bit more aware
And… to my complacent, naïve fellow Americans

A bountiful, happy Fourth of July

(To our leaders)

Funeral

I want to have my funeral
But first I need to die
But not an ordinary death
You see
I want one filled of surprise

One death that no one would expect
One that’ll beat the rest
Of the
Out of the ordinary deaths

A death that will show the pain I hide
One that will make people tremble inside
To see that a little girl could hide
So much trouble and hate inside her mind

One that’ll have me on a bed
With rose petals all around my head
My wrist all cut up at the vein
A death that’ll make me look insane

It’ll have them saying
“maybe she hit her head”
For the death expressed too much
And set a feeling of depressed

Maybe a death
That’ll have written on my chest
All the things that “you knew best”
All the things I failed to see
Because they never were facing me

A death is called a tragedy
But not when nobody can see
That the tragedy was meant to be
Like the sun is meant to set each day
And how the moon never seems to stay

Tragedy occurs when a human soul awakes and seeks, in suffering and pain, to free itself from crime, violence, infamy, even at the cost of life. The struggle is the tragedy - not defeat or death.

I'm one in a million

I’m one in a million
Of people who claims to be
But no one knows me
One in a million
Of people who are writing
But no one is willing to read

I’m one in a million
Of people who has serious
Entertaining issues
But no one is interested in them
One in a million
Of people who sings
But no one recognize me

I’m one in a million
Of people who voice out clearly
But no one is listening to me
One in a million
Of people who are renaissance
But no one sees it

I’m one in a million
Of people who are searched and looked for
But no one finds me
Because I’M ONE IN A MILLION

It's Death Again

It's Death again - He's always there -
Watching, waiting - e'er the stare!
Every time I look behind
Or reach to pull the window blind,
I catch a glimpse of grubby hood -
A little clue to where he stood;
The glint of light that caught the scythe.
Perhaps if I could pay a tithe…
But O! no use, he'll never go.
The adamant phantom; don't you know
He will but wait until it's time
For me to hear His fateful chime? -
The toll that claims my destiny,
To Hail: 'You're next, it has to be…'

My Cancer

A little more has died
A life so disguised
A million masks
One for each day
So happy
I got all the answers
One of them is my cancer

A world full of blood
All for what we call love
So we can fake it
So we can take it
It's all ours

A little more has died
But at least I can say I tried
A million tasks
One for each day
So busy
No time for answers
I already got one, Its called cancer

A world for the innocent
A road to the oblivion
A mouth full of razor blades
So cut up
Mangled by the verbal
Some words are best left unsaid
Better for the undead

A little more has died
A child wonder why
A million people have asked
One for each day
So much agony
Looking for all the right answers
But I got is this cancer

Another tragedy
An accident that can't be undone
A noose hanging off the wall
A phone rings
But nobody's there to answer the call

A little more has died
Another lost soul has been denied
A million that will never last
One for each day
So angry
No more answers
All I got left is my cancer

Olivia Wilde

The mark of a good marriage is partnership and continuing to feel inspired by your spouse. I had that with Tao. But the end is not necessarily the tragedy. Staying in a relationship that is no longer working is the tragedy. Living unhappily - that's the tragedy.

Disingenuousness

Here lies another box for nature,
Carbon ready;
Black to eyes down here,
Where death is at its job.

Up there you’ll hear a rhythmic sob
Or two from living yet-to-dies –
A humming lacrimoso –
It all but cleans the eyes:

Forget it –
The dismal show of grief –
Life is only chemistry –
Our stay is only brief.
It’s we who hype it up!

Diaphragms jerk again;
The jet monotone of hearses
Feeds the disingenuousness
Of undertakers –
They seem to stare at something up ahead –
For them, it’s in the blood,
To taxi off the dead.
