The closing of a door can bring blessed privacy and comfort - the opening, terror. Conversely, the closing of a door can be a sad and final thing - the opening a wonderfully joyous moment.

Buddhist Lesson # 2
enlightment,
the act of opening,
like a rosebud,
like a mother,
opening the door...
like a child
opening a present,
like a woman
opening to a man....
opening...
all the hidden chambers,
every door to every
secret kingdom of the soul.....
opening the box that holds
your secret thoughts, desires....
opening...
the door of the cage,
letting the winged breath fly....
opening....
your heart to itself,
and to all hearts beating....
opening....
the vault of conceptions,
the entrance to the tomb
of past lives and memories....
opening...
your hands to the world
as if it were your neighbor,
and you, it's home!

D. W. Suite
Written by lindsey buckingham.
A tribute to the late dennis wilson of the beach boys.
A. the wish
If we go, go insane
We can all go together
In this wild, wanton world
We can all break down forever . . .
I want to go, go forever
I want to go, go forever
It's just a memory
It's just a memory
It's just a memory . . .
Gone forever . . .
Gone forever . . .
B. the prayer
The closing of a chapter
The opening of a door
Brings forth life
Where there was no life before
I won't be here; i'll be watching from above
Always do you should
Always be good
And when push comes to shove
Pray for guidance from above
Shadow all your hopes with love
Live your life without a doubt
Outside in, inside out
Pray for guidance from above
Shadow all your hopes with love
Never be afraid, never be afraid
Pray for guidance from above
The closing of a chapter
The opening of a door
Brings forth life
Where there was no life before.

Loud Is The Cry Of War
Loud is the cry of war
Many people shall it smite
Opening up death's dark door
Our people shaken to the core
As we feel our enemies bite
Loud is the cry of war
Many soldiers now implore
If this battle was worth the fight
Opening up death's dark door
Many hearts lie broken and torn
An Endless number of sleepless nights
Loud is the cry of war
Crowded will be heaven's shore
As the dead now take their heavenly flight
Opening up death's dark door
Although we won, we lost much more
As empty cries echo through the night
Opening up death's dark door
Loud is the cry of was

Total Eclipse!
Time unto time
A door's closing
A seasons change
The end of ones pristine
Time unto time
A door's opening
An' season's anew
Yet one shall be missed
Moment by moment
Account of count
Thine pages of living proof
Moment by moment
count thy count
For your reminisce remains
Eclipse after eclipse
Toll upon toll
Always there for the need
Eclipse after eclipse
Toll upon toll
Always the planting of seed
Brother unto brother
Closer than blood
And a promise never unbroken
Brother unto brother
You are my blood
an' forever a part of me

Opening The Door Of Existence
Opening the door of existence
I entered non-tense balanced
Satisfied and content
Coming to the mother
Feminine mystique I am feminine
And I live and live in the moment.
Opening the door of existence
I read history I read fables
That are one and the same
Coming to the mother
I forget to put questions
Relating to the very existence.
Opening the door of existence
I became more elemental more natural
Without having corners
Coming to the mother
I enjoyed like birds rivers
And trees and resent and future.

Some Changes That We Need
we need to fill the cracks on the walls
some trickles of light may hurt
on the roof the rain as always will be bad
for the floor
some leaks must be sealed
the stones on the pavement choked
by the grass that has been crawling
for all the years
i have to pick up so my foot may not
be hurt
and then some goodbyes maybe said
even without the hellos yet
we settle, that is a good word,
we move on, i think that is much better
i am closing a door and so i am opening
a window like what you are doing
i am taking sleep only to be taken by a dream
i am flying only to stop for a while
tomorrow is a new day, as always, i am not closing
my eyes for another view of the sea
there will be new seagulls coming but i have
stopped counting each of them since then
as always they shall feast on my schools of fish
and i do not really mind at all.

Marigolds (Novelinee)
Like the morning glory you worship the sun
opening golden fold upon golden fold
following it from the time the day begun
as if that starry thing you do behold
longing for its shining white hot rays
as if watching while it is moving on
opening sunny day upon sunny day
and closing just as soon as it is gone
as if its love to you is the only one.

The Ripening
I picture you,
opening the door,
walking up the orchard rows,
in the caramel of evening light.
A giant's shadow peers at you
from in between the trees,
trudging silently with you
as you lift the sun-warm fruit,
cup in one work-seasoned hand
an apple, rich and scarlet ripe.
I picture you,
opening your door,
treading the dew drenched grass,
the raucous song of wattle birds
spritzing the crisp dawn air.
Your hands busied at the basket
gently placing, one by one,
harvest fixed by darkness chill,
all glossy, sweet and unblemished.
I picture you,
opening my door,
singing to the hallway ceilings,
eyes creased deep in blissful smile,
tide of sunshine flooding in with you,
the giant heralding you in silence
as you tenderly bestow
your joyous gift for all seasons,
proud and precious gems of autumn.

An Opening Door
Dedicated to Trevor, who took the trouble
to share the original quotation which this poem,
was subsequently written as a reflection upon.
Someone once said that poetry is like
someone opening a door, and for a moment,
an observer can glimpse, what is on the other
side. Of that veiled door, before it closes again.
But I have lived most of my life,
radiating the inspiration of living,
on the other side of that door.
The wonder of another world
may be partially glimpsed;
through the poetic moment
of a momentarily open door.
Through the transcendence
of a soul's passage; through
an inter dimensional door.
Life is a hard time stressed, being stuck
on, this side of the door; for the duration
of your chosen, destined prophetic life.
When you oft, must live, a woken dream,
of inspirational serfdom, or indentured labour.
Poetic flights of fancy upon closure,
leave the residue, of a mind and body;
firmly trapped within the horror of being,
flypaper stuck; lifetime sentenced;
to the wrong side, of that soul sought door.
I am dream vision married to the magic muse,
but this estranged relationship leaves my heart,
panting, when the demands of a secular life
and soul; strain and obliterate the domain of
sought spiritual rejuvenation. While true poet must
dwell in a kind of limbolic hell, in the chill lost world
between two dissimilar worlds. Two differing
realities that differ as much as chalk and cheese.
Redemption gifted
to an uncaring capitalistic;
multitude of barren values
is a burden of great magnitude.
Feel the tear of a vision walker;
walking between dissimilar worlds.
'Poetry is the opening and closing of a door,
leaving those who look through to guess about
what is seen during a moment.'

Woman (Respect)
woman...
divine made flesh,
births,
nourishes,
loves,
gives,
sensual intimacy,
spiritual companion...
the most human,
creation,
darkness and light;
the door of eternity,
opening and closing
by her will!
woman...
demands,
deserves,
RESPECT!

Life Is Such A Fickle Thing
Life is such a fickle thing
one day your up the next day your down
when it seems you are on a merry-go-round
and the circles you spin in
are ever more decreasing.
Life is such a fickle thing
with love opening new doors
and closing older ones.
We just travel with it
never knowing what
tomorrow is going to bring,
as life is such a fickle thing.

What else
what else can be heard
when you lend an ear to the sounds
a laughter behind crying
a whisper of love behind the screams of hate
the door opening behind the door closing
my voice behind a waterfall echo
what else can be seen once the eyes closed open
for the twilight of heavenly darkness
I somehow slipped from to be here to talk
fed on silences and solitudes strong
strong enough to recall
a memory behind oblivion
a single torch at the bottom of the cave
the fathers lit up for life
what else can be done once it's time to do it
but draw the lines again and again
merge with colours embrace the hues
before one's run away from the canvas

Precious Night
Precious calm lovely night fall
bringing hope for tomorrow
eradicating today’s sorrow
shipping them away with its barrow
Precious calm lovely night fall
the cotton on today’s failure
opening ventures of bright futures
that will witness no fractures
Precious calm lovely night fall
shoving away the trice of worries
terminating the moment of feeling sorry
so much in a hurry
to welcome the bright morning
Precious calm lovely night fall
springing forth to bring comfort
to the wounded wiping the day’s
tears showing them near view of greater years
Precious calm lovely night fall
closing the door on today’s losses
letting go of the gross experiences
giving you the chance to be the boss

The Current
These fish have no eyes
these silver fish that come to me in dreams,
scattering their roe and milt
in the pockets of my brain.
But there's one that comes-
heavy, scarred, silent like the rest,
that simply holds against the current,
closing its dark mouth against
the current, closing and opening
as it holds to the current.

Live... From The Funeral Of God
Live from the funeral of God
Live from the funeral of God
This is the day you've awaited
Sponsored and celebrated
He has answered your prayers
Corpses have piled up with your riches
They have spilled over onto the Earth
We spit and wear our fear like masks
Everything is locked into form
(Interrupt the feed)
(It's closing in, its closing in) The skys so dark
(It's closing in, its closing in) The skys so dark
(It's closing in, its closing in) The skys so dark
(It's closing in, its closing in) The skys so dark
Are men no worse than demons?
Are armies not thirsty for bleed?
The desire of their hearts has been met
Eons and eons
Decades of liars
Drink with power atop the mountains of corpses
Their arms and legs fail and they crawl like serpents
To address those who are mourning
Live from the funeral of God
Of God
(It's closing in, its closing in) The skys so dark
(It's closing in, its closing in) The skys so dark
(It's closing in, its closing in) The skys so dark
(It's closing in, its closing in) The skys so dark
There is no reason to be afraid
Everything is under control
There is no reason to be afraid
Everything is under control
There is no reason to be afraid
Everything is under control
There is no reason to be afraid
Everything is under control
There is no reason to be afraid
Everything is under control
There is no reason to be afraid
Everything is under control

the sounds of Sunday
i hear the sound of the cold wind from the sea
i hear the waking call of the roosters
the scratching feet of the dog on some disturbing flea
and i hear her steps towards the door as she opens it
she goes to church
and i hear her gently closing the door and the gate too
closing in on me
i am alone now with all the other sounds of the house
this sound of the growing silence
some voices
rushing to fill my mind
some poems
for the day
it is this silence that feeds me
the trickles of my soul

You Mean More Than Closing A Door
Since we met that night,
I've tried to do right...
By you.
Even showing,
I can bend.
And comprehend your moods.
I've proven this.
Since we met that night,
I've pushed aside my pride...
It's true.
I want you to know,
You mean more...
Than closing a door,
To brood.
Take a moment to just step in my shoes.
Do this and you'll see,
My own wants are left needing.
Take a moment and don't think about 'you'.
When was it you wanted just to hold me.
Console me and just wanted to be near!
Since we met that night,
I've tried to do right...
By you.
Even showing,
I can bend.
And comprehend your moods.
I've proven this.
Since we met that night,
I've pushed aside my pride...
It's true.
I want you to know,
You mean more...
Than closing a door,
To brood.

The Hero Entering The Beast's Lair
Standing outside the door,
the hero hears the sound of a monstrous creature taking massive breaths.
But he,
in white robes,
hesitates only to draw his sword.
Onward he marches.
The White Sword shining, almost glowing in his hand,
the breathing now nearly crushing the hero's heart and soul,
yet he continues.
Onward he marches.
The cold stone of the beast's lair slithering with water,
the door opening before him,
the thought of the beast that breathed those breathes plagues the hero's mind.
Still, he presses on.
Onward he marches.
The icy air penetrating his garments,
the door now closing behind him,
the creature,
a dragon,
now emerges from the fog.
Fiery Red eyes scorch everything they touch.
Yet, despite the horror before him,
the hero continues on.

Hint Of Jasmine
The hint of jasmine
seeped through the broken pane
for the occupant within.
Those that walked the corridors
on their endless trek
searching for their lost loves
they never wanted to let go.
The yawn of a door opening
beckons someone in
then the click of it closing
shows that they are gone again.
Still the occupants wander
on their endless trek
as the hint of jasmine
lingers in the air.
