Luckily, many other people tell me how they have had a particular landscape photograph of mine in their office or bedroom for 15 years and it always speaks to them strongly whenever they see it.

A photograph never grows old. You and I change, people change all through the months and years, but a photograph always remains the same. How nice to look at a photograph of mother or father taken many years ago. You see them as you remember them. But as people live on, they change completely. That is why I think a photograph can be kind.

I am really chained to my computer these days so I work in my bedroom, which is a room I have worked in for years and years. It is just as much an office as a bedroom, and during the day, my bed is rather like an extension of my desk.

The Photograph
Hands old and poor, her back bent and sore,
She lifts from the drawer, the photograph
Though tattered and torn, through years it has worn,
But still bears the form of the man she knew
Her eyes are weak, spilling tears on her cheek
Her lips start to speak to the photograph
She tells him with pride, she still loves him inside
Though years ago died, la da da da
La, la da, la da, la da da, la da, la da da,
La la la da da,
La, la da, la da, la da da, la da, la da da,
La la la da da
And all of the people she knew, who she knows no more
Who dont know the score say,
We wonder why, she never married, such a
Pretty girl she was, such a lovely face she had,
Such a pretty thing she was, once
She turns to her right, to put out the light,
And wishes goodnight to the photograph
Her love, though its strong and lasted this long,
And goes on and on, shes still in love
La, la da, la da, la da da, la da, la da da,
La la la da da,
La, la da, la da, la da da, la da, la da da,
La la la da da

Foiled Again
Sitting up once again...In my bedroom
Shaking hand holds ugly head...In my bedroom
Wish I may wish I might...In my bedroom
Have this wish I wish tonight...In my bedroom
[Chorus:]
At night when you turn out the light, think of me, smile and feel all right
And when you lay your head down to sleep, may I be the one who fills your dreams...
Are you lying wide awake?...In your bedroom
Are you trying to fall asleep?...In your bedroom
Cuz your not thinking about me...In your bedroom
If you were you'd wish those thoughts would leave you...In your bedroom
[Chorus:]
At night when you turn out the light, you wonder what it was you thought you liked.
And you ask yourself what did you see, In an idle hollow fool like me
I'm not the one who fills my dreams...

The Photograph
In this obscene photograph sold in the street
secretly (have to watch out for the police),
in this whorish photograph,
how could there be such a dream-like face?
How did you get in here?
Who knows what a degrading, vulgar life you lead;
how horrible the surroundings must have been
when you posed to have this picture taken;
what a cheap soul you must have.
But in spite of all this, and even more, you remain for me
the dream-like face, the figure
shaped for and dedicated to the Hellenic kind of pleasure-
that's how you remain for me
and how my poetry speaks about you.

The Place of Forgotten Memories
For years I’ve put odds and sods up into the roof space,
like old books, photographs, and the odd vase.
When my parents died I also put their memorabilia up there,
and now my loft holds many memories from over the years.
My grandson ventured up there and came down with a photograph,
he asked me why his picture was not in colour, and I began to laugh.
Of course it wasn’t him in the photograph it was his great granddad,
the resemblance was uncanny, which made me kind of sad.
The picture of my granddad was taken at the age of nine,
the same age as my grandson at this particular time.
I remember my granddad well especially in his later years,
and seeing him in my grandson fills me with tears.

The fact is popular art dates. It grows quaint. How many people feel strongly about Gilbert and Sullivan today compared to those who felt strongly in 1890?

I almost never set out to photograph a landscape, nor do I think of my camera as a means of recording a mountain or an animal unless I absolutely need a 'record shot'. My first thought is always of light.

One Of Those Birthdays
i found finally the photograph of us,
five children
three sisters and two brothers
different faces, mine is an aquiline nose,
the first has white skin, and the second is the
dark brown cookie,
and the third has a long straight hair
square jawed,
i always felt that i am
out of place, barefoot
and skinny,
and silent despite her pinches
on my side
i am not misbehaving
in this photograph
except the youngest brother
who compromised
with a pose
two minutes and then ran away
not wanting to be
a part of anybody else's
advices
good or otherwise.
i guess it was Friday,
January 29,1976, and if i am not wrong
it was one of those
birthdays
mine.

Martian Landscape
* come from the land where
The wheat is still wheat
Where the waters in the rivers is still water
In this land every man lends
A hand when you need it
But your hands are full of life
So you can help yourself and feel it
Its been a long way from the red of my home
From the valleys
And the green plains never ending
Everyone knows that the sun in his land is stronger
And your hands are full of life
If you can only wait just longer
** so let it be a small haven big in your heart
Dont let it turn into a nova
Tryin to climb and climb
Try and forget this place where
I can still find time
To sing in rhyme
.*** martian landscape,
Ill learn to lie in your arms
Where all the freedom is mine and it comes
Martian landscape,
Ill turn my face to your sun
Where your horizon is mine and it comes
* repeat
** repeat
*** repeat
Martian landscape
Martian landscape

Statistics show that many people watch our show from the bedroom. and people you ask into your bedroom have to be more interesting than those you ask into your living room. I kid you not!
I felt very strongly the whole social impact of that depression, you know, and I felt very strongly about the efforts that this Resettlement Administration was trying to accomplish; resettling people, helping them, and so on.
You come to work because the office is a resource: The office is a place where you can meet with other people, and the office has libraries of books and information on CD-ROM that might help you with your work.
The landscape you grow up in speaks to you in a way that nowhere else does.

My Photograph
Of all the worldly goods I own,
Of all that I possess,
One photograph means more to me,
Much more than all the rest.
Who took this precious photograph
I couldn't really say;
I only know the subject is
More lovely than the day.
A face so radiant, so serene,
And known and loved so well;
This photograph I hold so dear,
I'd never give or sell.
True beauty comes from deep within,
It's something you can't buy;
It's captured on my photograph,
And cameras never lie.
It may be silly fancy,
And mock me if you will;
But when I choose to look at it
All time is standing still.
I know I'm looking at the past,
But I don't care, you see
My Mother's eyes are filled with love,
And looking right at me.

A Landscape
A Landscape
Here in this landscape of bushes and crippled
trees, silence speaks of the final peace.
Grotesque dead trees, daylight ghosts, stand there
with grey boughs stretching upward appealing
to a fairytale god, “give us today a new life” but
no, there is only one god he is almighty, and hears
not your fearful whispered wishes, those who do
not understand are doomed to a life of an empty
pursuit for pleasures, crowding nightclubs and
casinos trying to avoid being alone with the night
and facing the truth: we are mortal and heaven is
to be remembered for a while by other mortals.
Faces in a black frame seeing you seeing through
you and into a void. Yet I fear not this landscape as
it is shunned by man and no harm can happen to me
here except the inevitable

The World Inside My Bedroom (album Mix)
I gotta pull the plug out
And to be alone
This melody in my sky
Tonight will only be mine
Me alone with my mind
It's raining and it's boring (?)
And it's drowning all the town
Tonight I'll hide in my bed
Or I can get myself wet
(...) like this forever
The world inside my bedroom
Walls made of fantasy
Make me feel alright in my bedroom
Playing this melody
I think of what I'm doing
And I wonder where I'm going
The caress in my visions (?)
That troubles my decisions
Is blocking any conclusions
So I long to feel the night
'Cause the darkness turns on light
On me and on my feelings
On the (...) that I'm regreting
While I'm failing and neglecting
The world inside my bedroom
Walls made of fantasy that
Make me feel alright in my bedroom
Playing this melody all night
The world inside my bedroom
Walls made of fantasy
Make me feel alright in my bedroom
This is where I can feel the light

A Man Inside My Mouth
I woke up at seven and my body was vibrating
I was wrapped up in a blanket
I was grey
Damp and sore
The bedroom was an engine and my heartbeat was erratic
(like i think i'm at the racing
Like the night before)
I remember one girl standing
One was sitting on the ground
One was holding me up
The other pulling me down
And i couldn't decide which one was real
Because there wasn't a sound
(like i was pregnant again...)
"don't move don't blink don't think don't even breathe" she said
"or the photograph will spoil
And cut you off at the head"
So i was sucking
I was suncking like a fat lady would
But i couldn't hold it down another second
(bleagh!)
"don't twitch don't shout don't think don't even breathe" she said
"or the photograph will spoil and cut you off at the head"
So i was sweating
I was sweating like a fat lady would
And i woke up
With a man inside my mouth
(this won't hurt at all)
