Our institutions and values are in jeopardy as the mores of the market pervade all social life in this country. Loyalty, honesty, courage, discipline, patriotism, and commitment to family are being crowded out by the goals and rules of economic rationality -- do whatever makes the most money.

Money makes the world go round.
Honesty becomes corruption
Loyalty is near it extinction
Though peculiar it may sound
Money makes the world go round.
People’s happiness is now money
Truthfulness seems a joke so funny
Many examples you’ll find around
Money makes the world go round.
Now jobs depend totally on salaries
Artistic halls are now empty galleries
Many witnesses can be found
Money makes the world go round.
Money! Money! Leads to crimes
Happy moments turn to sorrowful times
But bad deeds are bound to rebound
Money makes the world go round.
Hard work leads to true success
Hardworking never face this silly mess
Here LOYALTY and TRUTHFULNESS is found
Money makes the world go round.

Economic Development
Economic development is the precondition of higher living standard
Therefore we should focus on economic development at first
We know infrastructural development is a must
For economic development of any country
So the government should go for it in the first place
And if necessary they should go for partnership with private entrepreneurs
Now it’s an open market economy
If we want to take off to the sky of prosperity
We need to utilize our own resources including manpower
We need to figure out our competitive advantages
Because it’s not a hard task for us in the information era
Now-a-days tourism is a lucrative sector for any government
Because we are living in the time of globalization
Protectionism is now a history
That’s why
The role of commercial banks and other financial institutions
Is more pivotal than ever
They should provide loan to the industrialists
In such a manner and style
So that the latter can import cutting-edge tech
In order to survive in the fierce competition of open market

It is the logic of consumerism that undermines the values of loyalty and permanence and promotes a different set of values that is destructive of family life.

It's really true in this country that more and more Americans think that underneath the economic crisis there's a values crisis, and we won't get to an economic recovery without a moral recovery as well. So a citizen's movement about values and economics I'm finding all over the country on main street, and Wall Street needs to pay attention to that.

There is also work to do in the evolution of a stable family life and values, and in ensuring that the Nigerian family is built on core values that will form the bedrock of the future society. We must showcase the ideals of family life and be models of family values.

If your family doesn't have much money, I want you to remember that in this country, plenty of folks, including me and my husband — we started out with very little. But with a lot of hard work and a good education, anything is possible — even becoming President. That's what the American Dream is all about. If you are a person of faith, know that religious diversity is a great American tradition, too. In fact, that's why people first came to this country — to worship freely. And whether you are Muslim, Christian, Jewish, Hindu, Sikh — these religions are teaching our young people about justice, and compassion, and honesty. So I want our young people to continue to learn and practice those values with pride. You see, our glorious diversity — our diversities of faiths and colors and creeds — that is not a threat to who we are, it makes us who we are.

No Values / No More Lonely Nights
I hear them telling me that you're selling off the furniture
And even keep my personalized autographs
You might as well go all the way and sell your granny to the zoo
And while you're at it, may I go to my psychiatrist ?
He's making money out of making me laugh
But I don't mind , I wish that I could say the same about you
It seems to me that you've still got no values
Oh you know you're not so hot, no values
And I'll be glad if you went away again
No values . . . no values . . . no values at all
The city shark is at the dark and of the alleyway
You pays your money and you takes your choice
The artful dodger says he wants to pick a pocket or two
But you, you've taken up a place in high society
A personal friend of messrs rolls and royce
Got them all convinced that everything you say to them is true
It seems to me that you've still got no values
Oh you know you're not so hot, no values
You know you've got a lot, but no values
And I'd be glad if you went away again
No values . . . no values . . . no values at all
I like your wife's smile, I like her car
If I had your lifestyle, I wouldn't go far wrong
On the waters of life you row your boat
Into the strongest tide that you can find
On the darkest of nights we were two of a kind
We went through it all before the tide went out
And left us stranded on the shore
How was I to know
How was I to know
Well you ain't got no values
You know you think you're hot, no values
You know you've got a lot, but no values
And I'd be glad if you went away again
No values . . . no values . . . no values at all

Generational Theft
They talk about 'their' principles.
'Their' values,
Standards!
And 'their' land.
They talk about 'their' rights.
'Their' rules and restrictions.
And who is not correct in etiquette!
With 'proper' social grace...
That makes them uptight!
They talk about themselves,
And 'their' interests...
That has led others on the brink,
Of a global blight!
But nothing has been mentioned,
Of the spread of this disease...
That has blinded them,
Of a consciousness with sight!
And 'their' way of life,
Has caused severe harm to humanity!
That has created an economic devastation.
Keeping them in fear.
And awake at night!
And...
They campaign,
To lay the blame...
Upon others for 'their' shame!
Referring to 'their' own need,
To feed 'their' own greed that has bled them...
'Generational Theft'!
And yet...
They have planted these seeds!

I Am Not Proud Of My Country
I love my Homeland Country and of it's scenic sights I sing
But I don't say I am proud to be Irish as proud has a patriotic ring
And those who feel proud of their Country often go that step too far
As pride leads to patriotism and patriotism leads to war.
I have never waved my Country's flag at parade or football game
And I am not Proud of my country though I love it just the same
For pride and love are different as different as can be
And pride that leads to patriotism has never appealed to me.
Some people on flag post in their front yard fly their Country's flag
And I am proud of my Country you hear them proudly brag
But others worthiness and cultures they never could embrace
And without saying so they are telling you that ours is a superior race.
I am proud of my Country you will never hear me say
Though many feel that pride and patriotism are good and quite okay
But how many young men have died in wars due to patriotic pride
Love brings people together whilst pride and patriotism divide.
I have never been a soldier or had honours to my name
And I am not Proud of my Country though I love it just the same
And those who feel proud of their Country can take that step too far
For pride leads to patriotism and patriotism can lead to war.

Honesty verses loyalty
Loyalty is being honest to a person;
Honesty is being loyal to a cause.
Loyalty is being faithful
And honesty, being virtuous.
Kumbakarna was loyal;
Vibhishna was honest.
The world is run by loyalty
Rather than by honesty.

Money Rules
What opens doors for you in the restaurants
What makes you realize your dreams
What lets you buy cars and cars one for every day
Just what you really need you cant buy
What makes the movie beauties smile at you
What makes your bogies shine like gold
What makes your doctor be your best friend
When you visit him
What makes the bank-clerks smile and sing
And they sing:
Money rules lets buy the world
Money rules lets rule the world
Money rules forget the world
Money rules lets crack the world

Social Life
Nervous you need a drink
Tired you need a lift
You feel on the brink
Maybe you need new tits
Vulnerable as a ship
But you re not on the sea
Can you talk to anyone here?
No, not really
And the crowd stays on your back
And the girls are all s0 stacked
And the stress it lines your face
And you realy need a place
Its just that social life
Its got you on the run
That goddamn social life
Its torture dressed as fun
Its just that social life
They got you seein things
That goddamn social life
And now you re chasin strings
That goddamn social life
God-awful art and clothes
Plenty of money, though
You guess it must be worth somethin
What that would be you don t know
In your imagination
Theres a face of love
Someone who will come along
Instead of comin on
Anp the forces ebb and flow
And the money goes and goes
And something makes you
Want to throw a brick
Through the window
Its iust that social life
Its got you on the run
That goddamn social life
Its torture dressed as fun
Its iust that social life
They got you chasin strings
That goddamn social life
And you are seeing things

Eloquently Stated
You keep insisting to connect yourself with values,
I can not identify.
Like honesty.
You are constantly in hide and seek mode.
So honesty you may wish exists.
But from you...
That does not show.
Devotion and loyalty?
The words I hear.
But those actions from you I disbelieve.
Unless they have been gift wrapped...
And you're presenting them now to me!
Trust?
I've seen that scrawled on the side a bus.
Were you on it?
And your wave escaped my attention?
You keep insisting to connect yourself with values,
I can not identify.
Not with you.
But then again...
You always fantasized yourself a magician.
And I do have a wish you can fulfill.
You can snap your fingers and disappear.
Leaving us both to keep that secret to ourselves.
How is that for accomodating both of our desires?
As you have so eloquently stated!

We All Choose Love
I told my beloved of the books I read
and my perspective changed, all of a
sudden I could see beyond the fantasy
and imaginary beings into the values
highlighted by this enriching addition
to the bedrock of reality underneath
The wonderful principles of loyalty to
family and integrity - being honest to
all loved ones, the age-old dilemma
of balancing honesty with protection
and commitment, the issue of trust
lost or won, and I had to smile at
My inner Agony Aunt who looks down
on fairytales, while my inner Alice-in
Wonderland who looks at everything
in oblique lines, was joyously involved
in the Morality Play of ethical values
in the soul-searching questions of
What truths to convey and what to hide
in an attempt to make people safe, and
the highest sacrifices made, the laying
down of life in the protection of things
and people cherished by those we love
questioning what is most important
Whether there are things we can love
more than life itself, the people we love
and their well-being and ease - or our
own safety, and we all know what the
answer to that is: We all cherish the
things we take delight in more than
Plain physical existence, alone and
bereft, cynical and bitter, we conclude
making wrong choices changes life into
torture and the comedy turns into a full-
scale tragedy, therefore we all choose
what will make us happy in the role
We are playing in life, we all choose love…

Ethics and Civics
Fame, status
Sex, lust
Politics, religion
Drugs and infidelity.
'What about honesty, loyalty...
Faith and morality? '
Yeah!
But Missus Simmons...
You mentioned nothing about fiction.
You told us to keep our essays 'real'.
And to include those areas of our goals...
If we are to become assets to today's society.
You gave us this assignment last week!
Remember?
'Yes...
This is true.
But not one of you had anything to say,
About honesty, loyalty, faith or morality.'
But Missus Simmons...
None of us are 'that' creative.
This isn't English.
This is an Ethics and Civics class.
'I don't know how I can get this across to you all.'
But Missus Simmons,
I thought you told us you had a 'doctorate' degree?

What You Find
There is discipline in A Soldier
you can see it when he walks,
There is honor in A Soldier
you hear it when he talks.
There is courage in A Soldier
you can see it in his eyes,
There is loyalty in A Soldier
that he will not compromise.
There is something in A Soldier
that makes him stand apart,
There is strength in A Soldier
that beats from his heart.
A Soldier isn't a title any man
can be hired to do,
A Soldier is the soul of that man
buried deep inside of you.
A Soldier's job isn't finished after
an 8 hour day or a 40 hour week,
A Soldier is always A Soldier
even while he sleeps.
A Soldier serves his country first
and his life is left behind,
A Soldier has to sacrifice what
comes first in a civilian's mind.
If you are civilian -
I am saying this to you.....
next time you see A Soldier
remember what they do.
A Soldier is the reason our land
is 'Home of the free',
A Soldier is the one that is brave
protecting you and me.
If you are A Soldier -
I am saying this to you.....
Thank God for EVERY SOLDIER
Thank God for what YOU do!
