The simple truth is that balding African-American men look cool when they shave their heads, whereas balding white men look like giant thumbs.

I'm an actor who they said was wrinkled and balding and everything else when I was in my early 30's. Most of the people who wrote that who thought they were younger than me are now bald and wrinkled.

Don't Be The One To Hold Onto This Molding Done
The giving of unlimited patience,
To someone in constant complaint mode...
Grows old.
Like a balding tire that needs to be replaced.
And has run out of valuable tread.
Get real with this!
Don't wait until that tire blows.
To believe it will assist instead...
In the delivery to and from,
With you in safe passage.
Get real with this!
And slow down to examine it for what it is.
Make the necessary change and be on your way!
With a sigh of relief when you leave.
The giving of unlimited patience,
To someone in constant complaint mode...
Grows old.
Like a balding tire that needs to be replaced.
And has run out of valuable tread.
Get real with this.
Slow down to examine it for what it is.
And make the necessary changes.
Don't delay speeding away,
From that which has been corrected and fixed.
Get real with this quick.
The giving of unlimited patience,
To someone in constant complaint mode...
Grows old.
Don't be the one to hold onto this molding done!
Get real with this.
Slow down to examine it for what it is.

Hands of Fathers and Sons
Full from the heart without a sealant of coy,
Five little fingers curled to daddy's thumb,
To his lips in render of his unmeasured joy,
A kiss of truth that only father could add up.
Full of strength without defiance of charm,
Now bigger fingers grapple to daddy's arm,
To his balding head tap by surprising defeat,
Sense of truth that son to father's no threat.
Full of love but without resistance of shame,
Two open hands locked to weakening frame,
That was once so gentle and fragile to hold,
The etymon of truth, future is now foretold.
That long before he's the son; he's the father,
With same name to carry, write, and spell,
Either left or right, these hands will not falter,
Their strength to give and care is their will.

Biggest insult is ordinary,
Pleasant day off shore,
Pose a threat of irony,
For the rich and their whores,
The silent hum of wanting,
Giant roars of loathing,
The lady wants but shows no proof,
Gentlemen desperately hide their insecurities,
In their youth,
Thigh muscles flex,
A finger tells all,
The nakedness of the opposite sex,
Interrupted by a desperate call,
The man is balding now,
He stoops to low to take a bow,
The woman laughs nervously,
As she takes a final curtsey,
As we fake life,
It still goes on,
Money lies on bedside,
Expectations of the rising of dawn,
He bit his tongue,
A flicker of remembrance of when they were young,
As she takes in a breath,
And embraced by the Black Death,

Don't Dread That Casket Bed
When i am dead,
I don't want to dread,
Seeing people cry for me
That is never ever going to be,
Dont wear black,
Cuz it'll lack,
The personality that i had,
that would be bad,
Don't wear white,
With a alot of might
because it looks like a wedding,
Not me laying in my forever bedding,
Wear brightest colors,
And be my Like my mother and brother,
Wear blue purple and green,
So bright they can be seen,
Talk about my life story,
Were i once had a life with no worries,
talk about my smile,
that shined for a mile,
So don't make me dread,
That cold casket bed.

Wankers
Being born Ignorant; in America
it feels strange to know nothing.
And of this your secret most will lie
never to be so sure, safety.
I walk into a store; out over there
next too that place out yonder,
that same chamber of commerce,
billed as your next heart of America.
Of what is red and white or real,
blue some what like you, when I smile.
I ask the old balding tailor who speaks
with a fake french midwestern accent
I'm sure he is wankers and the worst of it.
I see the empty Rosetta stone case empty
But forced to prequalify again or so I feel,
Or Well, it does seem so: some where out here,
Someone must know about it so I ask the tailor.
In America so full of wankers, and if you ask them.

Ode to Baldness
Heads that shine are “oh so fine”
And mostly trouble free
No hair to fly when wind is high
They’re always slick and neat
No hairspray or Brylcreem to buy
No brushes or pocket combs
And many ladies, I’ve heard it said,
Are fond of the old chrome dome
That must be why so many these days
Full heads of hair will shave
But, you can’t shave hair that isn’t there
I got mine the natural way
Now, you men of poetic métier
Whose hair has taken leave
Just write a verse if you’d care to link
With the bald headed poets’ league

Simple truth
please just tell,
tell me the truth,
its really simple,
tell the truth....
do you really love me
do you really care about me...
tell me please,
you wont hurt my feelings or anything i just want to know.
i need to know the truth.
do you believe in forever
i need the truth.
look me in eyes and tell me
the simple truth......
i will understand...
but i have to hear it to believe it...
dont lie,
tell the simple truth...

Minoru Lakes Gardens
in the rock garden
an elegantly pruned duck
hovers butterfly proud
on tortoise shell pond,
applies standard strokes,
glides forth.
royal crest
symmetrical waves
released
still point
supernova
flattens pleiades
bends orion's belt
washing clean balding green
graffiti on billions year stone

African Giant
Across the plains of Africa, elephants come and go,
There lives this mighty superstar, that most have come to know.
This is no small thing you can pet or treat as if a child...
For he's as tall as you can get and sometimes he gets wild!
If he runs at you all at once, don't stand there, waiting, friend!
Don't wave to him and act the dunce, for soon, your life will end!
This creature's one you won't forget! He'll dance upon your grave!
To run away, that's your best bet, if your life you would save!
African giant, please stay there! Let's keep things peaceful now.
You're big enough to show some care, to let me live somehow...
I won't approach your giant frame or challenge you to fight...
Let common wisdom be our aim and please, let's stay polite!
The plains are big enough for us... The sun is way too hot...
And running's such an awful fuss and in the end, for what?
You'd be upset! I'd be upset! And each would look the fool...
No need for us to build a sweat... Let's choose to play it cool.
Relax! Calm down! OK, alright! Breathe in and out. That's good.
You're doing great! It's out of sight. You see, I knew you could!
I'm not the kind to hurt a fly... Let's settle down, OK?
Let's watch each moment pass us by... Let's both enjoy the day...
The poem is based on the magnificent painting
by Stephen Gayford called 'African Giant'.

Son Of Africa
Listen Africa listen!
Listen to the words of a stallion
Listen as I speak of a giant,
An African giant
A giant entangled by his own hand made snares
Yes! Indodana ya se Africa
Un-wax your ears and Listen
Great warrior of the chimurenga,
Phela you stood against white powers
And liberated black wishes
Against the Blairs and Bushes you stood.
Courageous, you battled the spite of the Smith.
Now listen Ndodana ya se Africa
Hear this young stallion galloping towards the truth.
In Limbo you stand snared by your own snares
In Limbo, you warrior remain just a memory
Hau lalela son of the soil,
It’s your people who go under the soil
Their calabashes are dry, they go under the soil.
Under the soil their bellies lie empty
Hau lalela Ndodana ya se Africa
Listen son of Africa
Do not stand as proud as death
Do not let its sting be your companion
An African warrior you must once more become
Adorn the spirit of Madiba, No easy walk to freedom
Remember...Listen...Remember.
T he Ndukus and the rocks, Africa’s weapons of old
Now Son of the Soil’s desires battle against Africa
Hau listen son of Africa
Lalela...listen...lalela

We can now have action movies with two stars where one might be African American and one might be Asian American. One of them doesn't have to be white, and the other one doesn't have to be the ethnic sidekick. We're way over that. And I think it's happening in society, too.

Mother Silent
Those days are over now
you and your mother
sitting in the garden
she with her posh lady hat
and you in your cap
to keep the sun
from your balding head
she maybe muttering
but mostly still
and quiet and looking
as best she could
at the birds coming and going
as they picked up bread
now she is still
and silent once more
quietly dead
and you sit no more
in the garden
in your cap
and she
in her posh lady hat
with the sun
on your head
she is silent now
forever gently
peacefully dead.

Giant of Africa
Blessed thy be
among the contries
so great and powerful
rich in culture
and natural endowment
truly, you are the giant of Africa
Hm! giant of Africa
you should be ashamed
for been called the giant of Africa
Isn't our flag green white green?
while green stand for food
and white for peace?
but now, green stand for famine
and white for war
Giant of Africa
heh heh heh
visa now becomes your lord
the land where
nigerian love to live
still, the tomtom of revolution
beats in our heart
for our ancestor to judge
both the good and the evil.

Celebrity (Fun Poem 135)
Imagine if I was a celebrity
with lots of photographers following me
and I laid on a private beach somewhere
to catch the sun in the buff.
Now just imagine what they'd see,
wrinkles from head to foot
and great big batch of grey hair,
balding in the middle.
I wonder what would happen
if they took a photograph of me?
The camera would have a fit
and the photo would be classed as pornographic.
Everyone would start to wonder
where the heck did that alien came from.
Alas, you can breathe again
and say thankfully under your breath
I am glad he is not a celebrity.
However, who knows
what tomorrow might just well bring.
I could win the lottery
and become an instant celebrity.

Nigger was a fashion colour in the 1930s
It is the birthright
of every person of African descent
to be happy
and the duty of all
the rest of our world pigment spectrum
to see that they are
no-one should be allowed to rule
any African, and let’s throw in
any South American or Caribbean, state
and come to think of it any
Southern state of the USA
unless they recognise this god-given talent
and then go on from this prime duty
to fill the learned professions,
skilled workers, artists,
musicians, dancers,
politicians ha
and so on
the African smile was made by God
and we should all remember this
I mean just use your eyes
and if you think that’s patronising
go jerk a chicken
how do I know this incontrovertible
fact you may ask, dumbo
because Mr Organic Fruit and Veg
has just delivered today Friday
along with these treasures
of God’s earth, a huge
organic free range natural
dawn-fresh renewable
smile
which he tells me is of
African, Spanish American, and Caribbean
extraction
and which is a happiness boost
for the whole week to
this pinko-whitey honky with
the long grey face
sometimes, the truth is just
looking you in the eyes
