John Lennon

I'm not claiming divinity. I've never claimed purity of soul. I've never claimed to have the answers to life. I only put out songs and answer questions as honestly as I can... But I still believe in peace, love and understanding.

What Now?

now the questions are asking you
what now? quo vadis?
where to? what for?
why?

yes, why above all.
the questions are asking you
and you must answer with the very same questions to the questions

you beg, and they beg too
the answer to the questions

but you have no answers really
you have learned the art of wisdom
its own ways
its own manners of not answering with answers

who knows? no one knows?

Probing Questions

Is there something more to life, than endless days of toil and strife?
Is there something after all of this; a Hell below or a Heavenly Bliss?
Can there truly be life after death, this when we take our final breath?
That question always asked is why; do innocent people have to die?
Why do righteous people perish, while evil seems to always flourish?

Friend is there truly a Living God, who rules above the earth we trod?
And does God truly care for us; mortal beings that return to the dust?
Can anyone have true peace of mind, in this world that is so unkind?
Why’s there evil darkness everywhere, if He is a God filled with care?
And why would a God full of love, simply sit and watch from above?

These are just a few of many more, questions asked about my Lord,
Questions that you may have asked; some in the not so distant past.
Many questions are Satan’s reproof, to keep many from God’s Truth,
Let none of them keep you from, Christ who from Heaven has come,
With answers to these and more, on questions about Heaven’s Door.

The Spirit leads to God’s Word, with the answers to questions heard,
Eternal answers which you will find, fill your heart not just your mind.
Where God not just answers them, but gives new life to all my friend.
Then all the questions are second to, the Eternal Life He’s given you.
And now an answer in my life, is to Heaven I’m going in Jesus Christ.

Barack Obama

It is claimed he is inexperienced.
It is claimed he is too young.
It is claimed he is of mixed heritage.
And his mother is white...
And his father is a native African son!
It is claimed he is intelligent.
A good father.
A husband with a black mate.
It is claimed he is honest.
It is claimed he is degreed.
It is claimed people love him.
And he is a Harvard graduate?

I 'hope' like hell these are not allegations...
Because he is perfect to lead this swill,
Out of the cesspool of sewage
That has been seeping for decades!
What is his name?

'Oh-Bula, Oh Bumba, OBala, Oh...?
Baracka...Bolaka?
Barack Obama!
Yes.
That's it I think!
I don't know exactly.
But someone from those Star Wars movies!
Your Majesty...
I believe our prayers will be answered.
He 'reeks' with truth.
You have to see it for yourself.
It's incredible.
AND...
He has the gall to have published,
For all...
His flaws and blemishes! '

OH REALLY?
You're kidding!
Someone affliated
With those George Lucas
And Steven Spielberg productions?
Someone appearing before us,
Without hidden agendas...
OR seductions?

Yes, yes!
Send him in immediately.
He is the 'chosen' One!
He will lead this 'Federation'!

Play the theme upon his entrance.
I want him to feel he has found a home!
We've got to 'sell' our new mission,
To the people.
They have been hungry for this guy!
Send him right in!
I can not believe this!
Someone who dares to expose himself...
Without disguise?
Send that guy in here.
Immediately!

There Is An Understanding To Be Claimed

There is an understanding to be claimed,
You say is now within your reach.
And you can comprehend how I've been feeling?
Making it okay for you now to speak to me.

I will pretend I didn't hear that.
Just because you are disappointed,
By the way your life has gone.
I don't share those sentiments.

Your perception of me,
And your thoughts that I do not acquire...
Material 'things' you can not touch or see,
Does not qualify you to understand my feelings.

However...
What from 'you' I do understand,
Is the feeling you possess of worthlessness.
Since your values have been re-evaluated.
I've never had those values to re-evaluate.
And you now believe you and I have something in common?
We don't.

There is an understanding to be claimed,
You say is now within your reach.
And you can comprehend how I've been feeling?
Don't fool yourself.
The standards I have set for myself,
Are extremely high.

And you?
You haven't sacrificed your beliefs,
To know those feelings others rejected...
With a disrespect.
There is much between you and I,
I could never accept.
Even if I tried.
I don't lie to myself.

The Passion

If they only owned love, shown love, grown love, like this before
If they only knew love, true love, to love, like this before
If they only gave love, saved love, brave love, like this before
If they only called love, love love, called love, like this before
If theyd only showed love, they owed love, owed love, like this before
If they only showed love, they owed love, owed love, like this before
If they only knew love, true love, to love, like this before
If they only gave love, saved love, brave love, like this before
If they only showed love, they owed love, they owed love, like this before
La la la la la, la la la la, la la la la la, La la la la la...
Like this before
If they ever showed love, they owed love, they owed love, they owed love
If they ever showed love, they owed love, they owed love, like this before
Oh, oh, oh, oh, yeah
La la la la la, la la la la, la la la la la, la la la la...
If they only claimed love, claimed love, claimed love
They maintened love
Instead they drained love, stained love
They didnt control love, my soul loves a whole love, like this before
Received the same love
If they didnt regret love, forget love, say they never met love
If they will love, dont kill love, just be still love (x4)

evasive (EDITED FOR one letter only)

the answers are shy
they have not matured

they always are not
confronting the questions

which keep on roaming like
Nazi soldiers looking

for the kill of the innocent
ones

the answers are arrows
with blunt tips

the questions are the black holes
of our universe

who dares to answer all of them
not me

i see all the questions
and i am but a little boy stupid on the street

looking for mother
and afraid of what a father can do

to defend the senselessness of
my posture

the questions are alive
the answers need a redemption

i take the side step
write a poem and then sleep

who knows?
the answer is nothing but a dream

yes, a dream
something ephemeral

yes, an illusion
something like a mirror

yes, a moment,
something that must pass like the shadow of the moon.

Living Life To The Fullest....

did you run away from yourself?
for how many years now?
are you happy on this?
are your feet still under your control?
do your eyes still make those tears?
do you still figure out the message from those stars?
do you still believe that there are those who never cease loving you?
are you peaceful now?
do you commit your self to another despite the pain?
do you shy away from those who keep on hurting you?
do you love yourself?
do you continue knowing yourself?
do you like being alone now?
do you know what songs are found on those beaks from white seagulls?
do you hum the songs of your soul?
is your soul and body synchronized?
do you like to quit?
if you do, please do not proceed.
there is no use.
the questions keep popping out
like those lotuses blooming on the pond
like those mushrooms on the rotten haystacks
after the thunder and the rain.

have peace, do not mind.
live the moment
for there are really no clear-cut answers
to life that is lived
to its fullest.

Close To Greatness

at one stage in my life
I met a man who claimed to have
visited Pound at St. Elizabeths.

then I met a woman who not only
claimed to have visited
E.P.
but also to have made love
to him—she even showed
me
certain sections in the
Cantos
where Ezra was supposed to have
mentioned
her.

so there was this man and
this woman
and the woman told me
that Pound had never
mentioned a visit from this
man
and the man claimed that the
lady had had nothing to do
with the
master
that she was a
charlatan

and since I wasn't a
Poundian scholar
I didn't know who to
believe
but one thing I do
know: when a man is
living
many claim relationships
that are hardly
so
and after he dies, well,
then it's everybody's
party.

my guess is that Pound
knew neither the lady or the
gentleman

or if he knew
one
or if he knew
both

it was a shameful waste of
madhouse
time.

He Is Asking What To Do When The Love Is Gone?

over a bottle of beer on top of his loquacious spirit
he is asking me: what to do when love is gone?

i throw back the question to him: what did you do when love was there?
and he says, he was in high spirits, he did all the thing he thought he cannot do
he grew flowers in the garden he painted the house anew
with white and blue and red and yellow
he laughed so well and claimed he was so happy
he loved so well and claimed he was in bliss

and so now that love is gone, i must tell him
just do the usual things when love was once there
there is nothing to lose, except that love that you have taken for granted

On Hearing Of The Death Of Kevin Hickey

Sad news a news that travels far and wide
And I was told of how young Kevin Hickey died
On the Shannaknock road of his car he lost control
And the reaper claimed his body not his soul.

He was pre-deceased by his Mother Kathleen
And his better days in life he had not seen
And his father John is left to bear sorrow's cross
And grieve the tragedy of his heart-breaking loss.

And though the accident that claimed young Kevin's life happened a few years ago
The scars of grief to heal are always slow
And the pain at the loss of his son in such a tragic way
With John Hickey till his own end will stay.

At the spot where Kevin died John erected a grotto as a memorial to his son
And it would seem that is as much as anyone could have done
To honour some one that they loved so dear
Such stories of love are heartening to hear.

I have heard of how young Kevin Hickey died
And such sad news does travel far and wide
And his remains will rest in peace forever more
But his soul lives on the soul has wings to soar.

freedom carries hope seeds in individualistic

freedom carries multiple meanings

I choose the questions

You think I am wise
Giving you the questions that
You cannot answer

On a wide domain of answers
A question or two shall be taken

And you will answer them for me

Haven’t you tried thinking
If we shift roles

Ok, so you try asking the questions now
I do not answer

I could have answered you
Because I can, but I won’t

I think, I have become real myself.

Always Asking Questions

We all want peace we dont want misery
So many of us wont let us be these things
But we only are confused
We feel stronger as we grow older
But still we feel bemused
Always asking questions
Were always asking questions
And the temptation is to just step back
Well we give what we lack
We will always be asking questions
Why rich?
Why poor?
Always asking questions
Were always asking questions
Why this?
Why that?
Were always asking questions
Why this?
Why that?
Always asking
Dont stop asking
Dont stop asking questions
Always asking questions
In answer to this question is just shut up
You dont know
I dont know
Nobody knows
This is an answer to every question
This is a place to begin
Always asking questions
Always asking questions
Why this?
Why that?
Why this?
Why that?
Always asking questions
(why this why that? )
Always asking questions
(why this why that? )
Always asking questions
(why this why that? )

A Question Anyone

We have in life
a surfeit
of those who step to the mark
to declare
what should and can be done.

Ideas pour
from their open mouths
enunciating in grave tones
and solemn decrees
making claim
to the Wisdom
of the Knowledge Tree.

Regard these not
or follow those
who claim Secret Lore
and urge 'follow me.'

Hard Truth:
Every one claims answers
but cannot tell you what is the question;

every one thinks their answer
if true for them
is also true for you;
from that silly stance recoil.

Every sage can tell you what to do
but none can identify the first step.

All can see the path to follow
but none can answer
if a first step
is consistent with several paths which may follow.

None can answer
if you deny their answers offered,
(which are commonly either or choices)
but note life most often shows either/or
most often is neither/other.

None can tell you what is scientific about the scientific method.

None can separate in a simple sentence the difference between
book learning and common sense.

No sage alive can claim to know why Progress Now
has crashed so low-
despite all the Smart Ones
gone before.

Why is it that ignorance always fills the void
that Knowledge leaves?

Why are there always a surplus of answers
but few good questions?

I don't know
but I know what I don't know
hopefully,
that makes me one step ahead
of those who know the answer
before the question.

I think
those that always know
what they think they know
without ever asking
what is the question
that their knowing
is the answer to-
don't know
anything.

Best to smile faintly,
turn
and leave.

In life,
deep wisdom states:
we must learn to ask our own questions
so that answers are our own answers
drawing upon our own experience.

Ask not what the wise think
but ask instead
what questions did they ask
when it counted
as now,
at the brink.

I Love You, I Honestly Love You

I Love You, Honestly I Love You
Maybe I hang around here
A little more than I should
We both know I got somewhere else to go
But I got something to tell you
That I never thought I would
But I believe you really ought to know
I love you
I honestly love you
You don't have to answer
I see it in your eyes
Maybe it was better left unsaid
This is pure and simple
And you should realize
That it's coming from my heart and not my head
I love you
I honestly love you
I'm not trying to make you feel uncomfortable
I'm not trying to make you anything at all
But this feeling doesn't come along everyday
And you shouldn't blow the chance
When you've got the chance to say
I love you
I honestly love you
If we both were born
In anoother place and time
This moment might be ending in a kiss
But there you are with yours
And here I am with mine
So I guess we'll just be leaving it at this
I love you
I honestly love you
I honestly love you
