There are only two real ways to get ahead today - sell liquor or drink it.

Dont Start Me On The Liquor
Dont start me on the liquor
Ill drink it all down straight
Ill make a toast to love
But I drink the most
When I got somebody to hate
Im an old man
I got an old mans pain
Will the morning
Will the morning ever come again
Well, Im likin lickin a lotta liquor
Im drivin down the drink
Ill take a toast to life
But I drink the most
When my devil start to think
Im an old man
I got an old mans pain
Will the morning
Will the morning ever come again
Oh, I could drink, drink, drink
So I cant think, think, think
I got a hope or a home
In this life Im all alone
On this long cold lonely night of fright
Followed by a lonely day
til theres nothing left I can say
Except I didnt know I was sick
And so I got sicker
Hes a low down lying
Peckerwood cotton picker
Dont start me on the liquor
I got nothing more to say
I had a little money
But it all flown away
And I said oh man
Oh, aint that a shame
Oh, I keep manin, I keep manin
Like I got an old mans pain
Dont
Dont start
Dont start me
Dont start me on
Dont start me on the
Dont start me on the liquor.

Hence Don't Drink Liquor!
Liquor is the liquid state of fire,
Even if you add ice cubes,
it produces havoc and fire to the pyre
in your stomach and destroy the liver,
Hence don't drink liquor!

Have A Drink On Me
Whiskey, gin and brandy
With a glass Im pretty handy
Im trying to walk a straight line
On sour mash and cheap wine
So join me for a drink boys
Were gonna make a big noise
So dont worry about tomorrow
Take it today
Forget about the cheque
Well get hell to pay
Have a drink on me
Have a drink on me
Yeah
Have a drink on me
Have a drink on me
On me
Come on
Dizzy, drunk and fightin
On tequila white lightnin
My glass is getting shorter
On whiskey, ice and water
So come on and have a good time
And get blinded out of your mind
So dont worry about tomorrow
Take it today
Forget about the cheque
Well get hell to pay
Have a drink on me
Have a drink on me
Have a drink on me
Have a drink on me
On me
Get stoned
Have a drink on me
Have a drink on me
Yeah
Have a drink on me
Come on
Oooh
Gonna roll around
Gonna hit the ground
Take another swing
Have another drink
Gonna drink it dry
Gonna get me high
Come on all the boys
Make a noise
Chorus
Have a drink on me
Have a drink on me
Have a drink on me
Have a drink on me
Have a drink on me
Have a drink on me
Have a drink on me
Have a drink on me
Have a drink oooooooon me

Kick It Out
Im just a lonely boy
Drinking to much liquor
Writing songs that no one wants to hear
I take my pictures from the wall and I paint them black
I close my eyes to see clear
I take my guitar and I kick it out of the window
I hope that the wind blows
And Ill never get it back
I buy myself a liquor store for my own
And then I drink it all alone
Baby, if you wanna follow me
You gotta know
That I never will let you go

Christmas today!
Christmas today
Is celebrated in different ways
For lucky ones are Christmas presents
Waiting to be unwrapped under the Xmas tree
Others are still waiting for theirs to be sent
Strapping on to hope
That their presents will be free
Christmas today
Signifies cards, trees, and shopping malls
Let’s not forget the homeless people
Who have no one and are sobbing
Drink, Drink
Though not to a drunken stupor
Feast and feast
Before anorexia hits you to the core
Smile and smile, be merry yet weary
But please don’t forget the lonely
Who have no one and are sobbing
While you feast in prosperity
To charity you must give, remember
Especially in the month of December
Christmas today
Is a festive holiday
Appreciate it in all thy ways
For the man who died and gave birth to life
Is the reason why Christmas today has so far survived!

The Power Of Positive Drinking
Some like wine and some like hops
But what I really love is my scotch
Its the power, the power of positive drinking
Some people ruin their drinks with ice
And then they, they ask you for advice
They tell you, Ive never told anyone else before
They say, candy is dandy but liquor makes quipsters
And I dont like mixers, or sippers or sob sisters
You know, you have to be real careful where you sit down
In a bar these days
And then some people drink to unleash their libidos
And other people drink to prop up their egos
Its my burdon, man, people say
I have the kind of face you can trust
The pow-pow-pow-pow-power of positive drinking
The pow-pow-pow-pow-power of positive
The pow-pow-pow-pow-power of positive
The pow-pow-pow-pow-power of positive
The pow-pow-pow-pow-power of positive drinking
Some people say, alcohol makes you less lucid
And think thats true if youre kind of stupid
Im not that kind that gets himself burned twice
And some say liquor kills the cells in your head
And for that matter so does getting out of bed
When I exit, Ill go out gracefully, shot in my hand
The pow-pow-pow-pow-power of positive drinking
The pow-pow-pow-pow-power of positive
The pow-pow-pow-pow-power of positive
The pow-pow-pow-pow-power of positive
The pow-pow-pow-pow-power of positive drinking

The Deck
She stands on the deck hear,
To watch all the landslides,
She's waiting for myrtle,
Can't wait 'til she drives by,
She's focused on football,
Making her plants grow,
You'd think he'd have noticed,
Become what she needs,
Not today, not today,
She says go away,
Go away, go away,
She says keep it all inside,
Not today, not today,
She says go away,
Go away, go away,
She says keep it all inside,
I'll marry a nice man,
And move out to Northport,
And sell my camero,
To live in a white house,
And have my two corbies,
And make up some cut lips,
I'll live in a white house,
I am Susie Brown,
Not today, not today,
She says go away,
Go away, go away,
She says keep it all inside,
Not today, not today,
She says go away,
Go away, go away,
She says keep it all inside,
Nahoohoo, nahoohoo,
Nahoohoo, nahoohoo,
Now I'm not a DJ,
I play one in real life,
You've heard all my records,
The hits cut like steak knives,
Roll out the red carpet,
Like leaves through the winter,
Now I'm not a DJ,
I'd sure like to be,
Not today, not today,
She says go away,
Go away, go away,
She says keep it all inside,
Not today, not today,
She says go away,
Go away, go away,
She says keep it all inside,
Nahoohoo, nahoohoo,
Nahoohoo, nahoohoo,
Nahoohoo, nahoohoo,
Nahoohoo, nahoohoo.

Untutored
Untutored,
But your words are very sharp to the muse of the poor!
Untutored,
But the land ahead is already wet from the rain!
And like the works of our won hands to the public,
For the boys were late today.
Examined and forsaken,
And like your ways and my ways;
But the school girls were very late today.
Untutored,
But the songs of Yahweh were sung in a strange land!
Untutored,
And your steps were already noted by us;
For you were also seen among them,
But this day is like the day of lovers.

Your Ways
What i want you to do is not what you are doing,
What i want you to write is not what you are writing,
What i want you to sing is not what you are singing,
What i want you to eat is not what you are eating,
What i want you to sell is not what you are selling,
What i want you read is not what you are reading,
What i want you to plant is not what you are planting,
What i want you to buy is not what you are buying,
What i want you kick is not what you are kicking,
What i want you to drink is not what you are drinking,
What i want you to kiss is not what you are kissing,
What i want you to build is not what you are building,
What i want you to cook is not what you are cooking,
What i want you to dress is not what you are dressing,
What i want you to bake is not what you are baking,
What i want you to dig is not what you are digging,
What i want you to fish is not what you are fishing,
What i want you to drive is not what you are driving,
And this love is becoming more complex than ever!
For your ways are not my ways.

Go Ahead On
(madeline bell / dusty springfield)
If youre gonna break my heart
Go ahead on
Guess you think youre kinda smart
Go ahead on
(well youve got another girl)
And youre having fun
(got her head in a whirl)
See what youve done
Go ahead on
(go ahead on)
I said go ahead on
(go ahead on)
You never call me on the phone
Make me so sad
Sittin all alone
Feelin bad
(tired of being your fool)
cause you told me lies
(I cant take no more)
Of no alibi
Go ahead on
(go ahead on)
Go ahead on
(go ahead on)
For a little while
We had a good thing goin
Everything was peaches and cream
But the devil in you started showin
Do you understand now
What I mean?
You put me down
Every night
If you wanna be a clown
Thats all right
(when its all too late)
Then youll see
(shes done the same to you)
Like you did it to me
Go ahead on
(go ahead on)
Go ahead on
(go ahead on)
You put me down
Every night
If you wanna be a clown
Thats all right
(when its all too late)
Baby youll see
(shes done the same to you)
Like you did it to me
Go ahead on
(go ahead on)
Go ahead on
(go ahead on)
Git, git, git
(go ahead on)
Go ahead on
(go ahead on)
Youd better pack your bag
(go ahead on)
Go ahead on
(go ahead on)
Bye, bye, bye
(go ahead on)
Go ahead on

He shall separate himself from wine and strong drink, and shall drink no vinegar of wine, or vinegar of strong drink, neither shall he drink any liquor of grapes, nor eat moist grapes, or dried.
First the man takes a drink of liquor, then the drink takes a drink, and then the drink takes the man.
Older Than You
We are younger in years! Yes, that is true;
But in some things we are older than you.
For instance, you sometimes say with a smile,
'It will do to drink wine once in a while.'
We say, 'It will not do at all!'
Wine is an imp of old Alcohol.
So are gin and beer, and cider, too.
If you drink up them, they will eat up you.
'Cider is not a strong drink,' you say.
Ah! but, my friend, it opens the way
For brandy and whiskey to follow fast.
It has done it many a time in the past.
It tempts and teases the appetite.
Let it alone, boys, keep to the right;
Onward and upward we mean to go.
Heaven is reached that way, you know.
People who drink are behind the time.
They are back with darkness, and woe, and crime.
This age is progressive. You people who drink,
Though ever so little, just pause and think-
Think of the anguish that liquor makes;
Think of the hearts that it burdens and breaks.
Let it alone: stop drinking to-day-
This is what we, the children, say.

The Angels
Sometimes I feel like an innocent one
To deserve this fate what I have I ever done
I know that I made all the rules
But time can even change the hopeless ways of fools
I love you tonight like I did yesterday
I won't think of tomorrow or the price I pay
I drink from the well my soul is dry
I never know why
CHORUS
All I want is for your love to be all mine
But the angels won't have it
All I want is just a little peace of mind
But the angels won't have it
I thought I had a piece of my soul left to sell
I guess it's just as well
'Cause the angels won't have it
Who's looking after this see-through heart
Someone up there isn't doing their part
Oh Cupid you foolish boy
You should take better aim with your brand new toy
I love you tonight like I did yesterday
I don't think of tomorrow or the price I pay
I drink from the well my soul is dry
I never know why
CHORUS
So if I die before I wake
The innocent one whose heart could never break
Lift me up take me out of this bed
Watching the angels shake their heads
Don't feel sorry for me baby honey don't you cry
You can sell all of my clothes you will forget me by and by
I'll be riding that train I'll be singing that song
But I won't be gone for long
'Cause the angels won't have it
CHORUS

I Cannot Go Ahead
I CANNOT GO AHEAD
I cannot go ahead-
Today is not the day -
I just don’t have the right feeling in me-
I confess
I make excuses-
Out of the confession and excuses
I try to overcome
By writing these poor lines.
I feel in spite of all I have done
Or tried to do
That I have truly done nothing
And all depends only
On my building my confidence
By writing this would- be- poem now.
And now that I have done it
I not knowing whether it real or not
I feel, wrongly or not,
‘I am beginning to open and flow again’.

Colour Changes Life
Life is a long journey
But the terrain is not at all smooth
Full of uncertainties
Ups and downs
And we are to move ahead.
Your journey begins with white liquor
Giving full energy like nectar in life
To continue journey against all odds
And to achieve the desired goal.
As you are grown up,
With the influence of friends
The colour of liquors changes slowly
From white to yellowish and ultimately reddish.
You are lying on a roadside now
In a midway of your journey
With a reddish liquor scattered nearby
To have your last breath.
Alas! A beautiful journey starts with a
White bottle of liquor given by your mom
Ends with reddish bottle gifted by friends
Only the colour changes as does the end!

Those Ways Of You
Another drink you pour it
With a smile that's so bright
You speak of love and pain
We share another whole night
Those Ways Of You
What is wrong with people
Why does love come with rules
Love you say is for everyone
How we live amongst fools
Those Ways Of You
A union between him and her
Why not let love finally decide
Love knows of how we feel
Not just through society eyes
Those Ways Of You
You pour another drink again
And tell me love is very true
I agree with you my friend
And all You speak is so true
Those Ways Of You

The Play
Hey look at you now
Don't cry, pick yourself off the ground
You say you're through with love and..
It tore you down
And you tried to stay and take it somehow
Your whole life's ahead now
Don't let it get to you
There's no real reason to
Carry the weight of the world
Hey, it's not what we say
It's how we act here today
It's all in the play on the stage
Hey look at you now, you smile but I see you hurt
You can't hide that from me
You tell me you know
But that's not the way things have to go
When love breaks you down
Don't let it get to you
There's no real reason to
Carry the weight of the world
Hey, no it's not what we say
Its how we act here today
It's all in the play on the stage
Life can be so cruel
Love makes us play the fool
But there'll always be better days
Don't let it get to you
There's no real reason to
Carry the weight of the world
Hey, no it's not what we say
It's how we act here today
Cause we're all in the play on the stage

They Themselves Deceive
When people sell with a doing,
To those who become sold...
They themselves deceive.
With a doing done they say they do,
They themselves deceive.
They themselves deceive.
Since many possess college degrees....
In the hopes to receive achievement to get,
Competence with a common sense...
But they themselves deceive...
With minds feeding on 'bling' and greed.!
People like this are not taught how to feel,
A difference between what is fake and what's real.
They themselves deceive.
With a thinking they do this to other people,
They themselves deceive.
People like this are not taught to assess,
Correct ways to live and with honesty best.
People who cheat find it weak to confess.
They themselves deceive,
Unknowing it with doing!
They themselves deceive.
They themselves deceive!
With a making of lies to tell and sell.
They themselves deceive!
And a manifesting of this done too well.
They themselves deceive!
They themselves deceive!
They themselves deceive!
With a making of lies to tell and sell.
They themselves deceive.
With a manifesting of this done too well.
They themselves deceive.
With a growing of this to be known and shown.
They themselves deceive.
With a growing of this to be known and shown.
They themselves deceive.
They themselves deceive.
