All things must come to the soul from its roots, from where it is planted.

Uprooting...
she stands outside the house
leaning on the post of the gate which is painted white
it is raining
she is looking at the roots of the palm tree which she had just
caused to be uprooted
because she is weak and cannot even cut one of those
which was planted here
many years back
she demands that all the roots be taken away
not one root must be left
so she can sleep well tonight
i think i know what she wants to drive at the state of things now
she is filled with hate and longs for the time that love again shall fill her up
she is no longer the same
her eyes are red but they are no longer crying.

How Deep Song
How deep is the ocean inside of my heart?
I would say that the ocean inside of my heart is 30 feet deep
How deep is the valley that is in the back of my condo?
I would say that the valley behind my condo is 10 feet deep
How deep is the roots of my plant that is planted in the pot?
I would say that the roots of my plant that is planted in the pot is 20 feet Deep

Action to be
What is most important?
The action meant to be instant?
The reality and not the stunts
Or the capacity to bear the brunt
What does the seed do when planted?
How does the man react when hunted?
What can be the reaction when openly blunted?
It will be pity if you know the reason for being shunted
Everybody will need proper care and attention
If not, then it will create problems with tension
What all others things are needed for proper plantation?
There should be no reason for any hesitation
The base has to be strong for any good foundation
No one may prefer to go for or against without any recommendation
There has to be sincere efforts for calling a day
You can hold roots with firm commitment to say
Some of the martial races observe strict laws
For centuries they have remained outlaws
Still they have peculiar character to maintain
They have vigorous power to combat and contain
we commit error and regret later
Then nothing can be done for subject matter
It has o be planted with full care
You may have all the clues from some where
It has to be strictly observed from the very beginning
It will be of no use to offer regrets or start grinning
The structure has to stand erect and firm
You have to be sole judge for it and confirm
The roots will not be shaken for silly reason
The bold action on your part may make you good person
You will have all the reasons to enjoy
It is your capacity and ability to employ

When these suckers had formed roots in the open ground, or kind of nursery where they were planted, they were looked over and the best taken up for potting.

I Planted A Hand
I planted a hand
And there came up a palm,
I planted a heart
And there came up balm.
Then I planted a wish,
But there sprang a thorn,
While heaven frowned with thunder
And earth sighed forlorn.

The Seeds Of War
When the seeds of war are sown,
hardly is it ever known
who has planted it
and what for?
Was it about
blood and gore?
When the seeds of war take root
it's hidden reasons make us mute.
Why was it planted
and by whom?
Was its purpose
doom and gloom?
When the seeds of war are grown
never is it ever shown
how it is planted
in men's mind?
How it's made them
all so blind.
When the seeds of war do thrive
many will not be alive.
They'll be planted
in false graves.
These seeds propel
how the world behaves.

Baby Done Got Some Soul
(jim clench)
Published by slalom publishing co. - bmi
Baby done got some soul, shes a fighter
Breakin my spine, but takin the time, to hit slowly
To rock my bones, till I got no feelin
Lord above, livin on love, do I know what Im doin
Get on, get on, get on, get on baby
Get on, get on, get on, get on baby
Baby done got some style, shes a hazer
Blacken my eyes, tellin me lies, gonna believe her
Dont put the world into motion
Shakin my tree, pushin on me, just tryin to please her
Get on, get on, get on, get on baby
Get on, get on, get on, get on baby
Get on, get on, get on, get on baby
And youll be there, God planted soul for two, me and you
Get on, get on, get on, get on baby
Get on, get on, get on, get on baby
Get on, get on, get on, get on baby
And youll be there, God planted soul for two, me and you

African Roots
My DNA dates back to the trees that planted
My identity.
Soils creep up to distress how the hairs on my head were made.
My ancestor...
the ghosts that breathe through me
exclaiming their identity.
The roots that planted my existence flow through me
My
African roots.
The earth carries on its back the blood of those who fought for our liberty
Liberty... Our hips, our thighs
Free to paint itself into a frame of its own choice
And it chooses the hourglass
Dating back into time where
African women spoke through their stride
Head bowed down
An unspoken noun
That he the man and his muscles may protect his crown
Wabonga izulu
Esho izithakazelo zikaShaka Zulu
Thina ma-Afrika
Thina esinsundu
Esabeletha isintu
Ngoba kwathiwa umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu
Thina esinezimpande ezingasoze zahlubuka
Indoda yabukwa
Yabukwa indoda
Kwaqubuka ukuziqhenya
Laqhamuka iqhawe
Kwaqhaqhazela umhlabathi
Kwazalwa izwe eliqhakazile
Thina ma-Afrika
Thina esinsundu
Our DNA dates back to the trees that planted
Our identity.

Sonnet: Roots Matter
Look, how the cut branches and leaves get dried!
Sometimes, this happens when the Sun's too hot;
With roots intact, the trunk sprouts from its side;
The tree uprooted sure to death is fraught.
Look, how the trunk has sprouted green again!
The tree has started growing with revenge;
Almost a miracle is done by rain;
But this is how Nature tries to avenge.
Our Body, mind draw nourishment from soul;
Our soul if pure is habitat for God;
If not, the evil spirits take this role;
A sinful soul in Heaven would look odd?
Good roots matter if habits good flourish;
God's grace matters for Man's soul to nourish.

Marigolds
With a fork drive Nature out,
She will ever yet return;
Hedge the flowerbed all about,
Pull or stab or cut or burn,
She will ever yet return.
Look: the constant marigold
Springs again from hidden roots.
Baffled gardener, you behold
New beginnings and new shoots
Spring again from hidden roots.
Pull or stab or cut or burn,
They will ever yet return.
Gardener, cursing at the weed,
Ere you curse it further, say:
Who but you planted the seed
In my fertile heart, one day?
Ere you curse me further, say!
New beginnings and new shoots
Spring again from hidden roots.
Pull or stab or cut or burn,
Love must ever yet return.

GOD The Farmer
(4/14/12)
We live to love - we love to live
There is so much we have to give.
For every seed that GOD has planted
Another life has been granted.
Every seed on this earth
Will create a brand new birth.
He is the farmer - the giver of life
The crops he plants will suffice.
He planted the stars that shine at night
Gave us the sun - hot and bright.
He gave us water to quench our thirst
And gave us this water to cleanse the earth.
He planted seeds of knowledge in our brains
So if we had to - we could make the change.
He planted the seeds in the female wombs
So that life would not end to soon.
These are some of the things this farmer has given
He has made this life worth living.

Roots
Roots natty roots
Dread binghi dread
I and I are the roots
Some are the dry wood
Fe catch up the fire
Whoa, lo ok at that
They need some dry wood
To cook up the raw food
Whoa, look at that
I got to survive
Inna dis man maniac downpression
Got to survive
In iration, yeah
Roots natty roots
Dread binghi dread
Remember that I and I are the roots
Some are wolf
Inna sheeps clothing
Whoa, look at that
Many are called
But only a few are chosen
Whoa, look at that
Nothing that dividers can do
Cant seperate us from our father
Whoa, look at that
You see, blood is thicker than water
Whoa, look at that
Got to survive
Inna disyah ghetto, yeah
Roots natty roots
Dread binghi dread
Remember that I and I are the roots
Roots natty roots
Dread binghi dread
Whoa, I and I are the roots
Some are leaves
While some are branches
But remember I and I are the roots
Some are dry wood
Fe catch up the fire
Whoa, look at that
Got to survive
Inna dis man maniac downpression
Got to survive
In iration
Roots natty roots
Dread binghi dread
Hey, I and I are the roots
Ooh we, roots natty roots
Dread binghi dread
Oh yeah, I and I are the roots

The Vision the Tree that was Me
I saw a tree so tall and straight
It almost reached to the heavenly gate
I was very close to that tall tree
I became the tree, and the tree became me A fire was burning all around
It burned the roots that were attached to the ground
The fire did not burn the heart of the tree;
As I was the tree and the tree was me. God saved the tree that was me,
God looks upon the heart you see
He saw a sinful heart set free
Sins all buried on the cross of calvary God took the tree that was me,
And planted it by crystal sea
I am the tree, and the tree of life is in me
I, and the tree are one you see, Would you like to be our neighbor?
A tree planted by the waters.
Come to the cross dear sisters and brothers
Jesus will meet you; and we will meet each other.

Mother is the root
.
Mother is the root.
Children are the shoots.
Roots take care of the shoots.
Shoots have no care for roots.
They have other things to care.
Roots don’t bother. Can mother?

Growth of a Rose
A rose has been planted in it's place
Waiting to begin it's life as a beautiful flower
A shower of rain falls on the rose
Awakening the rose from it's long slumber
Beneath the ground where this flower is planted
It's roots have started to grow out from the rain
Soon the rain has stopped and the sun shines
The warmth of the sun's rays help the rose grow
Seeing the bright rays shine from it's source
The rose begins to reach out to the sky
Finally escaping the cold dark place the flower was in
It has at last faced the bright world for the first time
Revealing it's beauty and experiencing the feeling of pure happiness

If I Was a Tree
If I was a tree my roots would be planted in the soil where Shakespeare walked. My branches would sprout from the likes of Browning, Whitman, Wheatly, Dunbar, Hughes and Angelou and in the spring my leaves would blossom with my own words. So a poet I would be even if I was a tree.
