The morning is precious

The best part of the day
for one to exert energy
is the early hours of mornings
that we squander on daily chores.
Drop it. Do equipping jobs.

Since You Are Gone

Since you are gone the stones lie differently along the ground
and words that are the same now have a different sound
-and-
sharp and clear in early dawn there is a road I cannot travel on

Since you are gone- since you are gone

Since you are gone the path seems steeper still
there seems to be more brambles on our hill
More birds that do not sing
more incests that do sting

Since you are gone- since you are gone

Since you are gone the stones lie differently along the ground
-and-
Words that are the same

Now have a different sound
-and-
Sharp and clear in early dawn

There is a road I cannot travel on

Since you are gone- since you are gone

Palling winds, blow softly now, I dread
foreboding echos lament beside my bed
How soon the embers glow is lost-
how soon the darkness comes and frost

And sharp and clear in early dawn there is a road I cannot travel on

Since you are gone-
Since you are gone

There is a road I cannot travel on

Death of an Old Carriage Horse

I was a harness horse,
Constrained to travel weak or strong,
With orders from oppressing force,
Push along, push along.
I had no space of rest,
And took at forks the roughest prong,
Still by the cruel driver pressed,
Push along, push along.
Vain strove the idle bird,
To charm me with her artless song,
But pleasure lingered from the word,
Push along, push along.

The order of the day
Was push, the peal of every tongue,
The only word was all the way,
Push along, push along.

Thus to my journey's end,
Had I to travel right or wrong,
'Till death my sweet and favored friend,
Bade me from life to push along.

Up in the Morning Early

Cauld blaws the wind frae east to west,
The drift is driving sairly;
Sae loud shrill`s I hear the blast,
I`m sure it`s winters fairly.

CHORUS:Up in the morning`s no for me,
Up in the mornings early;
When a` the hills are cover`d wi` snaw,
I`m sure it`s winter fairly.

The birds sit chittering on the the thorn,
A` day they fare but sparely;
And lang`s the night frae e`en to morn,
I`m sure it`s winter fairly.

CHORUS: Up in the morning`s no for me,
Up in the mornings early;
When a` the hills are cover`d wi` snaw,
I`m sure it`s winter fairly.

Marvellous Travel

I travel with my eyes,
Watching those silently cry,
Asking themselves the question why,
Someone left them without saying goodbye;

I travel with my thoughts,
I travel with my pen;
To write about children, women and men;

I travel with my voice,
I travel with my hope,
That something new, would spring into my horoscope,
Whether in Asia, America or Europe,
There'll always be something interesting to scope;

I travel to many different places,
Mix with many races,
Identify tribesmen by their faces,
And little girls by their laces,

I travel without money,
So, please listen to my testimony,
The good, the bad and even the ugly,
Every experience is worth life's journey,

For I'll always be marvelled,
When ever I travel.

Morning Morgantown

When morning comes to morgantown
The merchants roll their awnings down
The milktrucks make their morning rounds
In morning, morgantown
Well rise up early, with the sun
To ride the bus while everyone is yawning
And the day is young
In morning, morgantown
Morning morgantown
Buy your dreams a dollar down
Morning any town you name
Mornings just the same
Well find a table in the shade
And sip our tea and lemonade
And watch the morning on parade
In morning, morgantown
Ladies in their rainbow fashions
Colored stop and go lights flashing
Well wink at total strangers passing in
Morning, morgantown
Morning morgantown
Buy your dreams a dollar down
Morning any town you name
Mornings just the same
Id like to buy you everything
A wooden bird with painted wings
A window full of colored rings
In morning, morgantown.
But the only thing I have to give
To make you smile, to win you with
Are all the mornings still to live
In morning, morgantown

Shame

Now there's a lifestyle
With painted lips
Now there's a lifestyle
Everybody wants it
But it don't exist
And I said shame...

In the dancehalls and the cinema
Shame
On the TV and the media
Shame
We loved you

Now there's a lifestyle
With fashion chic
Now there's a lifestyle
Everybody in it wants
To be elite
And I said
'You with yer brand new shoes and
You with yer greasy hair and
You with yer mother's pride and poetry
Don't you want to feel the shame?"...

In the dancehalls
Can't you feel the shame?
And the TV
Can't you feel the shame?
We loved you...
Shame
In the dancehalls and the cinema
Shame
On the TV and the media
Shame
We loved you
At the Lido and the opera
Shame
At the races
And the theatre
Shame
We loved you.
And they said all we need is love
All we need is love
With the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.
Day after day
Day after day.

These Lazy Mornings, Thi Lovely Self...

there are mornings that are very much like us
lazy, do not want to wake up, light spreads in bed, and fresh air
fills the air and sings in our ears
yet
we cover our eyes, we refuse, we
curl our legs, and bury our eyes on the pillow

these mornings are nameless and they are many
some of these mornings are fruits of those sleeping pills
because some nights are cruel insomniacs that hide from us
the gifts of sleep,

i like to hate mornings like these
and i may hate it till evening

but i have already made a promise to understand all these
stupid mornings and
just be patient and let go off them

i write once, that i may hate everything including these lazy mornings that shy away from light and air

but i must spare this self that
after all i do not really exclusively own.

and so this is it:
i hate this lazy, stupid morning, but i shall never
hate myself:
i am sleepy, i am beautiful, i am lovely and witty after all.

you may sing tonight with me:
this love of self, this greatest love of all.
Do not misinterpret it for arrogance, pride or conceit,
albeit, i must tell you,
this is just a good gadget for moving on
into a sweet and kind survival.

Travel to the place...

Travel to the place
Where mind set to peace,
No one can see,
Feel us free.

Travel to the place
Where we can breathe,
Fill our desire,
We wish; we aspire.

Travel to the place
Where we have silence,
Flower of fragrance,
And nature to admire.

Travel to the place
Where we can write,
Lines of rhyme,
At any time.

Travel to the place
Where we have enough space,
Work without race,
No tension on face.

Travel to the place
Where we can dance,
Sing at glance,
Bit of time to romance.

Travel to the place
Where we spread love,
Freedom to serve
And land to move.

Travel to the place
Where we can live,
Of joy and sprinkle its grace,
And do anything, anywhere.

Rosario

Early in the morning as the moon was in the sky,
Early in the morning I kissed my girl goodbye,
For kissing-time is over and it's time and time to go
When you've a long road to travel to Rosario!

Oh wake her &mdash oh shake her! - and the Peter's flying free,
And the pilot's come aboard her, and she's hungry for the sea.
Kissing time is over; And it's time and time to go
And 'a long road to travel to Rosario!'

Summer'll soon be over, the leaves'll fade and die,
And white on every furrow the winter snows'll lie,
But we're bound for the long furrows where never lies the snow,
And we've a long road to travel to Rosario!

Oh wake her - oh shake her! - and the cable surges in
To the roar of a shanty chorus as we make the handspikes spin . . .
Oh she's bound for the long furrows where never lies the snow -
And 'a long road to travel to Rosario!'

And now she smells the deep sea, and now she's gathering way,
And now she meets the rollers in a white smother of spray -
Sou'west an' a half west, and steady as we go . . .
And 'a long road to travel to Rosario!'

Oh, wake her - oh, shake her! - and it's good-bye to the shore,
With the north wind in her topsails, and the whole wide world before . . .
Sou'west an' a half west, and steady as you go -
And a long road to travel to Rosario!'
