Giving Up All Attachment To Love

'Giving up all attachment to love.'

That doesn't make sense.

'Why...
You don't like it? '

It's a bit absurd to me.
When love makes the world go round.

'What are you talking about? '

You just said...
Giving up all attachment to love.

'Oh...
That has nothing to do with you.
I was just thinking of a title for a poem I am writing.'

I thought you and I were having a conversation?

'We are.
I'm just waiting for you to say something interesting.
And when you do...
I will participate.'

Why do I keep believing,
To me you will ever be a friend?

'I love it.
Thank you.
Listen to this...
Giving up all attachment to love.
Why do I keep believing,
To me you will ever be a friend...

Go on.'

I don't even know why I am here.
You are sick.
You know that?

'Where are you getting this from?
I love it.
Listen...

Giving up all attachment to love.
Why do I keep believing,
To me you will ever be a friend...
You are sick.
You know that? '

You really are.

'Stop it.
Is this your own stuff?
You should be a writer.
I am stealing this.
I don't care what you say.
It is magnificent.'

I'm leaving.

'Why? '

We were suppose to go out to dinner.

'Why didn't you remind me?
You think I'm suppose to remember everything? '

Attachment- an inner look

No one is in detachment.
Nor is one in attachment.
Constant is attachment.
Changing is attaché.
One is abandoned
As another one is cordoned.

He who is overly attached to his family members experiences fear and sorrow, for the root of all grief is attachment. Thus one should discard attachment to be happy.

In attachment

In a happening, some are happy,
Some are sad and some, indifferent.
Attachments bring happiness and suffering.
Detachments deny sorrow and joy too.

Without attachment, mercy is not born.
Without attachment, purpose is not born.
Without involvement, interest is not born.
Without interest, no action takes place.

Attached, success bathes the ego.
Attached, failure soils the ego.
Attachment is still good if you hope
For the best and be for the worst

Only For Attachment

Only for attachment
I have seen woman
Not as Mother
Not as creator
And could not find
Her place in the world
And could not see the world
Properly in proper form
Only for attachment.

Non-Violence Great Virtue

Non-violence is
Great virtue
Non-violence
Born out of
Non-attachment.

Passion, anger
And greed are
Triple gates
To hell
these are born out
of Attachment.

Sonnet: Excessive Love is Futile

To love something too much could turn out bad,
For time decides the loss of many things;
When separations make a person mad,
Both peace of mind and heart can take on wings!

Attachment in excess could boomerang;
A bereft state cannot be lived at all;
Possessiveness could work like poison-fang,
Triggering person's defeat and downfall!

Better not to develop attachment much;
All states of life are not so permanent;
Much closeness can offset the magic touch,
As many things in life can cause a dent!

Don't love a thing in ways it doesn't deserve;
Love God alone with heart and mind and serve!

Escapism

I agree with you that attachment brings misery.
Is not it that attachment brings joy too?
If you say the absence of pain is pleasure
Can I say the pain is well discounted by the pleasure?

Rational and instinctual
minds conflict with each other.

Pleasure Without The Use Of Money

watch the dew
early in the morning
they glitter

look at the
rising of the sun
with so much
gentle light

the trees
are friends with
the sea breeze

the sands spread
peace on the shore

the sea brings
you the songs of
the waves

the clouds drift
so light
without any attachment
for things

the birds have
always the sky
as their playgrounds

look around you
just look around you

joy flows in your heart
and all these
are free

Safe Within The Arms Of Fear

Safe within the arms of fear,
Some feel.
Some feel an attachment,
To that which attracts...
And clamps them into a doing,
That addicts.

Safe within the arms of fear,
Some feel.
Some feel an attachment,
To that which attracts...
And clamps them into a doing,
That addicts.

What would they do,
If released from their cells...
With a barring done,
That has scarred them for life.
What other devices would inhibit and restrain?
And who will invent a suitable oppressiveness to present?

Safe within the arms of fear,
Some feel.
Some feel an attachment,
To that which attracts...
And clamps them into a doing,
That addicts.

Frightened they are,
To be freed from their boundaries...
With nothing there but peace to threaten them,
Without conflict to resist and commit total devotion.

Why Look For The Key

And they made the secret pact
His knowledge would be tapped
The link was based on a respect
On their lives they would reflect
A perfect state of non-attachment
Was striven for and claimed as fact
The younger grew and learnt his lesson well
All his ideals were intact
Why look for the key in another
The answer lay in his own heart
Wont find yourself in some other
It always was there right at the start
But power it corrupted
Thats where attachment starts
The power had erupted
The spell will crack
As each mental bond was broken
Strength grew in the young mans heart
What began as love not passion
Had left a seed in his heart
Why look for the key in another ...

Not Only a Practice But a Fact

My attachment to God
Is not only a practice but a fact.
God and I have been very close...
I do not question my faith.
Nor do I seldom stay in heartbreak.
Not these days and not for long.
Not as long as I know,
My faith in God...
Keeps me strong.

My attachment to God,
Is not only a practice but a fact.
I don't have to be self righteous!
God knows my habits.
I can not hide them behind God's back.
There is no sense in that!

Whatever this is where I am,
That gives me a consciousness to understand.
I only have to be myself.
And the more I accept it,
The taller of a man I stand!

Light

Light that can be kind. Light that can smell sweet. Light that can be soft.
Light that can be porcelain. Light that can be silent. Light that can speak.
Light that can hold many colors. Light that can be romantic. Light that can be harsh.
Light that can be cold. Light that can be warm. Light that can be dry.
Light that can be loud. Light that can be love. Light that can be faith.
Light that can be full of strength. Light that can be pure. Light that can be dark.
Light that can be fragile. Light that can be crazy. Light that can be weird.
Light that can be old. Light that can be new. Light that can be inbetween.
Light that can be swift. Light that can be sharp. Light that can wonder.
Light that can be insane. Light that can be smooth. Light that can dream.
Light that can be free. Light that can be everlasting. Light that can be wild.
Light that is the lord. Light that is Jesus. Light that is holy.
Light that is the trinity. Light that can belong. Light that can be fast.
Light that can sing. Light that is the holy ghost. Light that is the Bible.
Light that can be a mith. Light that can be still. Light that can be different.
Light that can be hole. Light that can be true. Light that can be whimsical.
Light that can be bright. Light that can be formed. Light that is blessed.
Light that can be full of presence. Light that can tell a story. Light that can be intelligent.
Light that is like no other!

Love is an attachment to another self. Humor is a form of self-detachment -- a way of looking at one's existence, one's misfortune, or one's discomfort. If you really love, if you really know how to laugh, the result is the same you forget yourself.

Enlightenment

Chop that wood
Carry water
Whats the sound of one hand clapping
Enlightenment, dont know what it is
Every second, every minute
It keeps changing to something different
Enlightenment, dont know what it is
Enlightenment, dont know what it is
It says its non attachment
Non attachment. non attachment
Im in the here and now, and Im meditating
And still Im suffering but thats my problem
Enlightenment, dont know what it is
Wake up
Enlightenment says the world is nothing
Nothing but a dream, everythings an illusion
And nothing is real
Good or bad baby
You can change it anyway you want
You can rearrange it
Enlightenment, dont know what it is
Chop that wood
And carry water
Whats the sound of one hand clapping
Enlightenment, dont know what it is
All around baby. you can see
Youre making your own reality. everyday because
Enlightenment, dont know what it is
One more time
Enlightenment. dont know what it is
Its up to you
Enlightenment. dont know what it is
Its up to you everyday
Enlightenment, dont know what it is
Its always up to you
Enlightenment, dont know what it is
Its up to you, the way you think

There Is An Artistry Applied

So much more is this,
Just a gathering of English words.
There is an emotional attachment to them.
With every period ending,
Each sentence that begins.

There is a process of selection.
With time taken to choose the best.
And keeping it simple for many to digest.
Giving consideration...
To those using microscopes,
For word usage to correct.

But a delight excites,
With a choice to test the minds...
Of those seeking to uncover something profound.
And 'something' complex between the lines to find.

So much more is this,
Just a gathering of English words.
There is an emotional attachment to them.
With every period ending,
Each sentence that begins.

And there is an artistry applied,
Some writers use and try to induce the eyes.
By using words like 'seduction'!
That capture minds to a familiar light.
As if moths stunned!
To become hooked and hypnotized.

And if that process does not work...
Cuss words are universal.
They seem to always maintain their worth.
No matter what the intent or context.
Just toss a few around.
An attention given can be expected.

To Sleep Soundly Upon A Late Night

there is a promise of enjoyment
about utility
measured in just a few moments

you have to pay for the intimate hours
and then be silent
no images, nothing about love
nothing about memories to share
and remember

we want it to be brief and
explosive
but we never desire that it should
stick to our skins and bones

another fantasy
another longing for something that folds and
unfolds
for something that opens and then closes
without attachment

i could have grabbed that moment with you
but light is too much
and i am not blinded

i let it go and i am weary
so weary when i arrive again in my room
finding nothing but myself
with its dignity intact

i can sleep soundly now though it is late already
