He who is overly attached to his family members experiences fear and sorrow, for the root of all grief is attachment. Thus one should discard attachment to be happy.

In attachment
In a happening, some are happy,
Some are sad and some, indifferent.
Attachments bring happiness and suffering.
Detachments deny sorrow and joy too.
Without attachment, mercy is not born.
Without attachment, purpose is not born.
Without involvement, interest is not born.
Without interest, no action takes place.
Attached, success bathes the ego.
Attached, failure soils the ego.
Attachment is still good if you hope
For the best and be for the worst

Safe Within The Arms Of Fear
Safe within the arms of fear,
Some feel.
Some feel an attachment,
To that which attracts...
And clamps them into a doing,
That addicts.
Safe within the arms of fear,
Some feel.
Some feel an attachment,
To that which attracts...
And clamps them into a doing,
That addicts.
What would they do,
If released from their cells...
With a barring done,
That has scarred them for life.
What other devices would inhibit and restrain?
And who will invent a suitable oppressiveness to present?
Safe within the arms of fear,
Some feel.
Some feel an attachment,
To that which attracts...
And clamps them into a doing,
That addicts.
Frightened they are,
To be freed from their boundaries...
With nothing there but peace to threaten them,
Without conflict to resist and commit total devotion.

Fiction is like a spider's web, attached ever so slightly perhaps, but still attached to life at all four corners. Often the attachment is scarcely perceptible.

Attachment- an inner look
No one is in detachment.
Nor is one in attachment.
Constant is attachment.
Changing is attaché.
One is abandoned
As another one is cordoned.

Giving Up All Attachment To Love
'Giving up all attachment to love.'
That doesn't make sense.
'Why...
You don't like it? '
It's a bit absurd to me.
When love makes the world go round.
'What are you talking about? '
You just said...
Giving up all attachment to love.
'Oh...
That has nothing to do with you.
I was just thinking of a title for a poem I am writing.'
I thought you and I were having a conversation?
'We are.
I'm just waiting for you to say something interesting.
And when you do...
I will participate.'
Why do I keep believing,
To me you will ever be a friend?
'I love it.
Thank you.
Listen to this...
Giving up all attachment to love.
Why do I keep believing,
To me you will ever be a friend...
Go on.'
I don't even know why I am here.
You are sick.
You know that?
'Where are you getting this from?
I love it.
Listen...
Giving up all attachment to love.
Why do I keep believing,
To me you will ever be a friend...
You are sick.
You know that? '
You really are.
'Stop it.
Is this your own stuff?
You should be a writer.
I am stealing this.
I don't care what you say.
It is magnificent.'
I'm leaving.
'Why? '
We were suppose to go out to dinner.
'Why didn't you remind me?
You think I'm suppose to remember everything? '

Only For Attachment
Only for attachment
I have seen woman
Not as Mother
Not as creator
And could not find
Her place in the world
And could not see the world
Properly in proper form
Only for attachment.

A Tree Tested For Its Roots
at first the wind blows
with cruelty
uprooting all the root of
your being
but this is only at first
you are but
a tree tested
for how long you can
continue
being attached to the
earth
the wind makes it sure
that you know
what attachment is
the meaning of being
rooted
after the uprooting
when all your leaves are taken away
when you are but all hands
with nothing to grip
then the wind begins to show
its true nature
it is lovely
fresh and pure

Fiction is like a spider's web, attached ever so lightly perhaps, but still attached to life at all four corners. Often the attachment is scarcely perceptible; Shakespeare's plays, for instance, seem to hang there complete by themselves. But when the web is pulled askew, hooked up at the edge, torn in the middle, one remembers that these webs are not spun in midair by incorporeal creatures, but are the work of suffering human beings, and are attached to the grossly material things, like health and money and the houses we live in.

Non-Violence Great Virtue
Non-violence is
Great virtue
Non-violence
Born out of
Non-attachment.
Passion, anger
And greed are
Triple gates
To hell
these are born out
of Attachment.

Escapism
I agree with you that attachment brings misery.
Is not it that attachment brings joy too?
If you say the absence of pain is pleasure
Can I say the pain is well discounted by the pleasure?
Rational and instinctual
minds conflict with each other.

On Her Face
I could see some anxieties on her face
They were clearly visible with wrinkles
She tried not to hide but definitely revealed
Those days were painful for her and in fact real
I am from the third generation
Very strong relation indeed with solid foundation
She was happy to see all members including grand children
Nice stage to feel but worries were apparently seen
I visited her whenever came on short vacation
She expressed her attachment with kind relation
She will probe in to my eyes with satisfaction
As her life was full of struggle and indignation
She had some kind of reservation and resentment
The behavior of family members was an embarrassment
She was sore at the treatment meted out
After all she had done enough and was not to be talked about
Somehow was drawn towards her and liked
In little of idle time her memory may invade and strike
She was full of love and evenly gave it to all
But I was favorite and responded to all her calls
Other family members too were obedient and courteous
But she was feeling irritation and became often outrageous
She wanted often full attention and enough of care
They were ready in fact but scared of her temperament and did not dare
I am of the opinion that all grandmas are attached more
Children also love and show courtesy therefore
She might be getting full joy when find among children
In a stage where such period is called sultry and barren
Even thought I too have attained full parenthood
Her feelings and resentment is clearly understood
I will sit by her bed side and comfort with sentiments
She too may respond with grateful eyes and comment
I know how difficult it is to observe and feel loneliness
When you are passing secluded life with troubled phase
I felt warmth of her gesture and deeply breathed
She was everything to me as from the beginning I had watched
Not all people may be lucky enough to have grandma at home
She is always there for us to console and welcome
How greatly children feel when chased hotly by parents?
Take refuge behind her back and silently wait

Goal of Happiness
Every goal of happiness
Ends in grief, in a huddle of lateness,
Offering dreams of unkindness.
My future runs in the family,
The success is an attachment,
A goal of love is about to enter.
Offered to our sleep is a successful dream,
Oscillating in our lives over a pattern
Too well defined.
This transformed our lives and our family,
Reaching into the cosmos of happiness
And alleviating suffering.
Our loves are slept in with no ache,
Cruelty is besieging the friends
We eventually preferred.

Not Only a Practice But a Fact
My attachment to God
Is not only a practice but a fact.
God and I have been very close...
I do not question my faith.
Nor do I seldom stay in heartbreak.
Not these days and not for long.
Not as long as I know,
My faith in God...
Keeps me strong.
My attachment to God,
Is not only a practice but a fact.
I don't have to be self righteous!
God knows my habits.
I can not hide them behind God's back.
There is no sense in that!
Whatever this is where I am,
That gives me a consciousness to understand.
I only have to be myself.
And the more I accept it,
The taller of a man I stand!

A Devalued Piece of Paper
There are those who view talents and gifts,
Others may be blessed with...
As a means for them to seek attachment,
To a dollar sign.
If falling leaves were declared to have monetary value,
There would be people killing themselves to rake them...
From wherever they fell in people's yards.
Or be seen chasing them as they blew in the wind.
A mindset attached to money like that,
Is as happy as a lobster caught and thrown in boiling water.
What they have or have not represents their self worth.
And it is sad for anyone to feel that enslaved,
By a devalued piece of paper.
Never to enable one to afford a peace of mind.

Shifting Sands
Using me,
I take a refuge in desire.
‘Seeing act’ strangulates.
I suffer in the mists of defeat,
there is no evidence.
One attachment catches the conflict.
The fading light of moon burns my pillow,
transcripts impenetrable theme.
Conceiving a problem
in the shifting sands, life seeks
a view of words and enjoys the discreet
meaningless movement.
We play the game again & again,
feed our egos. Study the sorrow
and give charity to the torn flags
of pride and hunger.
The fear does not end,
the looking does not stop.
Each answer leaps to a grief.
The chronicle of squeezed holocaust.
we were hurting each other
humming a song.
Violence of non-violence was more evident.

Your conscious intent
Your conscious intent will heal and offset your unconscious issues, your attachment patterns, in time as well as instantly provide you with healing experiences when you deeply and really mean it, that is to the degree that you connect with your depths, see the God in others, and make a loving way even in the face of seemingly overwhelming intentional ignorance and cruelty

Enlightenment
Chop that wood
Carry water
Whats the sound of one hand clapping
Enlightenment, dont know what it is
Every second, every minute
It keeps changing to something different
Enlightenment, dont know what it is
Enlightenment, dont know what it is
It says its non attachment
Non attachment. non attachment
Im in the here and now, and Im meditating
And still Im suffering but thats my problem
Enlightenment, dont know what it is
Wake up
Enlightenment says the world is nothing
Nothing but a dream, everythings an illusion
And nothing is real
Good or bad baby
You can change it anyway you want
You can rearrange it
Enlightenment, dont know what it is
Chop that wood
And carry water
Whats the sound of one hand clapping
Enlightenment, dont know what it is
All around baby. you can see
Youre making your own reality. everyday because
Enlightenment, dont know what it is
One more time
Enlightenment. dont know what it is
Its up to you
Enlightenment. dont know what it is
Its up to you everyday
Enlightenment, dont know what it is
Its always up to you
Enlightenment, dont know what it is
Its up to you, the way you think

Difficult to forget
It is difficult to forget near ones
They won’t be missed by some one
But by persons of close vicinity
And all members of the family
We may go on missing them forever
One day they may fade away however
They may still come and invade the memory
You may think and add to tension and worry
Any new place of similar nature may force you to think
You will slip into deep memory and try to sink
It will give you momentary relief and some kind of joy
Even though it is sad to miss any one and enjoy
We are sentimental and everything has some attachment
We may try to get near it and make happy comments
When that thing becomes thing of past
Some memory may not be forgotten and long last
More you cry and miss
He will get shock and a pulse
Where ever he is, he will have pain
As he will be in heavenly abode to remain
Insted do a thing which was so dear
He always tried for to be near
He will be with you for the years
And remind you he is with you and in your tears
These are unforgettable painful moments
There are no words left for comments
Yet we go on remembering them as and when feel free
We may have all comforts as if sitting under the shed of tree
