As my early drawings warned me, where humans go, lions and tidal waves follow.

Preface
A Sunset, lovers sketch drawings on the beach
waves come and wash.
It's the common love story of the world.
Waves never get a rest
even the Sun on his careless journey
and Moon cries with agony.
She runs with someone new
for a better future.
The old lover sings alone in his dreamland.
Still nobody realize that they are two
and not one.

Down
The drops of rain they fall all over
This awkward silence makes me crazy
The glow inside burns light upon her
I'll try to kiss you if you let me
(this can't be the end)
Tidal waves they rip right through me
Tears from eyes worn cold and sad
Pick me up now, I need you so bad.
Down down down down, down down down down
Down down down down, down down down down
(It gets me so)
Down down down down, down down down down
Down down down down, down down down down
(It gets me so)
Your vows of silence fall all over
The look in your eyes makes me crazy
I feel the darkness break upon her
I'll take you over if you let me
(You did this)
Tidal waves they rip right through me
Tears from eyes worn cold and sad
Pick me up now, I need you so bad
Down down down down, down down down down
Down down down down, down down down down
(It gets me so)
Down down down down, down down down down
Down down down down, down down down down
(It gets me so)

Daniel was a man,
Daniel was a man of Prayer, he prayed 3 timesa day,
And he trusted in the Lord, and as a servant of God he did obey;
One time there were others jealous, and didn't like him,
These were evil men, who did wrong and lived in sin.
Daniel was a Man of Faith, on God he could rely,
When told not to Pray, His God he couldnt deny;
And then the king was forced, by some evil men,
To send for Daniel, and throw him in the Lions den.
Daniel was a man of Trust, when in the Lions den,
He trusted all would be okay, so then;
He was closed inside there the lions mouths were shut,
And those evil men the lions took and their teeth did cut.
Daniel was a man whose life we need to follow,
As an example of Trust, otherwise ours would be hollow;
We should also learn to keep praying 3 times a day,
And stick to doing what is right, and to God obey.

I have made it a rule for a long time, not to part with the copyright of my drawings, for I have been so copied, my drawings reproduced and sold for advertisements and done in ways I hate.

Humans Being
Humans being
(off the twister soundtrack)
There is just enough christ in me
To make me feel almost guilty
Is that why God made us breed
To make us see were humans being
You break this, Ill break all that
You break my balls with all your crap
Spread your disease like lemmings breeding
Thats what makes us humans being
Shine on, shine on
Shine on, shine on
Some low life flat head scum infects
The sickness in his eyes reflects
You wonder why your life is screaming
Wonder why were humans being
Shine on, shine on
Shine on, shine on
Humans
Humans being
Were just humans, humans being
Thats what makes us
Humans being......

Sunt Leones
The lions who ate the Christians on the sands of the arena
By indulging native appetites played was now been seen a
Not entirely negligible part
In consolidating at the very start
The position of the Early Christian Church.
Initiatory rights are always bloody
In the lions, it appears
From contemporary art, made a study
Of dyeing Coliseum sands a ruddy
Liturgically sacrificial hue
And if the Christians felt a little blue-
Will people being eaten often do.
Theirs was the death, and there's was a crown undying,
A state of things which must be satisfying.
My point which up to this has been obscured
Is that it was the lions who procured
By chewing up blood gristle flesh and bone
The martyrdoms on which the church has grown.
I only write this poem because I thought it rather looked
As if the part the lions played was being overlooked.
By lions' jaws great benefits and blessings were begotten
And so our debt to Lionhood must never be forgotten.

Jerry and I always felt that the character was enjoying himself. He was having fun: he wasn't taking himself seriously. It was always a lark for him, as you can see in my early drawings.

There is something really mysterious about lions. They could rip you apart if they wanted to, but at the same time they look so cuddly. Can you imagine what humans look like to animals? They must think we're so weird.

I don't work from drawings. I don't make sketches and drawings and color sketches into a final painting.

The Early Spring (Rondel Prime)
The early spring brings new flowers again
while twittering birds fly past in a flock,
at the sight of humans cry in amok,
hide in their nests in the seeping cold rain,
while on the road daily joggers do train,
timing themselves with the far off clock.
The early spring brings new flowers again
while twittering birds fly past in a flock,
some on the ground peck and cry out in pain,
others flutter above ships in the dock
while the big waves does them up and down rock
while the spray, rust and salt marks does decks stain.
The early spring brings new flowers again
while twittering birds fly past in a flock.

Currents, Emotions, Oceans and Tides
In torrents of emotions
Are humans destined
To dwell
Thoughts but mental motions
Given to rise, tide
and swell
Of momentary madness
To tidal pools
of peace
To soothing waves
Of goodness…
Emotions without cease
Envy, anger,
jealousy,
Wonder
Riptides rising…
Then pulling
Us under
Torrents of emotion
Are of what our thoughts
Consist
A flood of feelings
We cannot
Resist
E'en in our sleep
The current
seems
To seep into
Our deepest
Dreams
We're naught
But helpless flotsam
Tossed
Adrift upon
Emotions hapless
Sea
Unknowing slaves
To reason
Lost
At least
So it seems…
To me

Those early sketches looked too cartoony; I really wanted to do detailed drawings - I was taking anatomy classes - but unfortunately I wasn't able to do it because of the time element.

Crashing Waves!
I'm glad to be a dolphin, I can wave my fin at you!
I can smile my gracious grin and then blow a kiss or two!
I swim as fast as boats can! That's amazing, don't you think! ?
And yet, don't close your eyes, man, or I'll vanish in a blink!
My home's here, where I'm feeding... My family's around me...
I'd say that I'm succeeding, as long as they surround me!
It's great to go exploring and to be a pioneer!
You see, there's no ignoring all the beauty that's down here!
It doesn't matter where we go, as the beauty's always there...
All colours of the rainbow bring us sights beyond compare!
The humans sometimes meet us as they like to share their lunch!
It's nice to see them greet us as they seem a friendly bunch!
Great to see them now and then... and yet, suddenly, they go!
Soon they wander off again... Why they leave we just don't know!
Yet I'm glad each dolphin saves all the memories that they've shared:
All the times we're crashing waves! All the times when humans cared!
When you humans visit dolphins, you're made welcome neath the sky!
Come, let's play and let's be friends, till each one waves goodbye...

Will You Be There
Should early morning sunrise skip
A day or two and nighttime stars
All disappear from view, would you
Be there to hold my quaking hand?
When cherubic celestial wings
Begin their white, feathery molt
And fall to earth as virgin snow
Will you be down below with me
To warm and tender through the storm?
If all laughter turned to sadness
And music sounds on Mans deaf ears
Will we ever hear our laughter
Once the teary, tidal waves’
Incursion floods our precious shore?

Okinawa
Armada sails
Island after island
Battalions land
Ominous silence
Jungles become fierce roaring lions
Machine gun nests
Relentless enemy with no surrender
Casualties, the maimed and dying
Rain, mud, the dead unburied
Torture, dehumanization, madness
Corpses defiled
Attack after attack
Night becomes a morbid nightmare
Shadows, ghosts, artillery fire
The rocks splattered with blood
Strategic hills, hidden caves
Caves where fear shivers
They fight and wait for the emperor
Huddled in the cold darkness
Foreign voice echoes off the rocks
Warned to come out for the last time
Some sealed in their bleak darkness
Exploded into kingdom come
Finally the flag waves in sober winds
Thousands and thousands in early graves
Count your dead
Purple hearts
Remember these brave children of war
They no longer hear the guns and roar
They lay silent with honor
Okinawa falls

And for every project, because it takes years, you can see the early drawings and collages as just a simple, vague idea, and through the years and through the negotiations of getting the permit, you see that every detail is now clarified.

Sleep
Encased pupils rapidly moving
Erstwhile yawns extend to snoring
Bliss setting in to dreaming
Some humans airily walking
Some humans merrily talking
Aperture on the iris best awaiting
The mind early or late signalling
Sun light the iridic doors feeling
The physique getting to a refreshed living

The Lions
The lions are tired.
Tired of runing,
tired of screaming and fighting,
tired of living,
my life,
their life,
and everybody else's.
The lions are bloody
but tired.
The lions wish,
they wish to kill,
they wish to eat,
they wish to sleep,
but
these lions are tired,
so tired.

Coin’s two sides
A lot were dead from tidal waves.
Almost all were fishermen.
A grief to the humanity;
A relief to fish community.
Two sides of the coin.
