I have made it a rule for a long time, not to part with the copyright of my drawings, for I have been so copied, my drawings reproduced and sold for advertisements and done in ways I hate.

Mean Erotic Poems
as i arrive you go away
in an instant
saying bye
i got to go, i have a date on the island
somewhere
distant, so distant from you
you left a note telling me my erotic poems
are mean
and not exciting and not turning you on
like a woman should be
reading about sex, sympathy, some tea and company
some smoke
making love to the red curtains
some hard liquor
to make your breast stiff
and
a fighter, like the way how hard i turn on
you
and like the way my hands go wild and smash
the softness of your thoughts
you leave and heave an ending sigh
your signature
of
i hate you, i hate you, i hate you
perhaps even promising not to read
any poem
of mine anymore, anywhere, anytime
i understand,
the poems are mean, they are not meant for you
they long for someone
somewhere and her name lingers still
in my arm like a rose tattoo
there is a thorn there
always and some drops of blood
dried
now, more like some drawings, mere drawings of my youth

But the drawings are not created only to be sold.
On The Shore
One child on the shore
With a stick on his hands
Writes on the sands
Some drawings
Playful
A wave comes and slides
On the shore
The drawings are gone
And a new slate is given
By the water that runs
That advances to him
And later surrenders to itself
Another young man
Draws a heart on the sand
Swearing a love eternal
All encompassing
A wave slides forth
And comes back pulling towards itself
A new slate is made again
The old man comes later
Writing his life story with a cane
The same wave comes again
Slides forth and pulls itself
An empty slate
Sand so smooth and blank and plain
Gleaming anew
To the blue skies
Everything looks playful,
Indeed. The sameness and the
Constant repetition. The cycle.
The monotony of life.

Barbarian
First theres nothing
Takes a long time
Piece by piece
It comes together
He makes drawings
Turns them into real things
Simple paintings
Of caves long ago
Just like a game
Always a winner
But he works hard
Surprise to himself
A lot of people
Bent on the future
Set up the countries
Closing all the doors
Now he thinks big
Thinks hes come a long way
But we all know
Long long way to go
Barbarian
Hes lonely
Hes the only one

Expression
Back in the sixties we used to indulge
in letting our toddler play in the lounge.
When he did drawings over our walls
we gave him free reign, hey man it's all cool.
As he went on to pursue this art form
we both encouraged, we thought it top draw
After all, in due course it would all have to end
so we thought, as he went on enjoying this bent.
But when he was ten, he persisted to scrawl
over our armchairs, the tables and floors,
and on reaching sixteen, yes, all to our cost
he still persevered in his drawings - a lot.
Now he has grown, he lives on his own
and expresses himself in his own little home.
He paints and he writes on the ceilings and walls
he'll let the phone ring, he's not in to take calls.
He doesn't seem bothered of what people think
although when they visit they tut and they blink.
He's expressing himself and it makes him feel good,
he's not really bad, he's just misunderstood.

My drawings at first were made altogether in watercolors, but they wanted softness and a great deal of finish.

Departure
So long old friend,
It has been fun
But my work here is done.
To watch you grow
And get to know
The man you have become.
Wherever you walk
And whenever you talk
Part of me is there.
And wherever I go
You too should know
That a part of you I share.
The part of you that made me laugh
Through all the memories we have.
The things that made us mad
The pain that made us cry
Yet, alas, old friend
It is time for me to say goodbye.
Now, we part in separate ways
And with others spend our latter days.
Still in your wealthy memory
Let others see that part of me;
The part of me you'll always have,
The part of me that made you laugh.
Fate has made us one somehow,
It is she who separates us now.
In time you'll see, much of you is me
Our friendship thus was true
And before I go, the world will know
How much of me is you.

An Earnest Prayer to God
God, rule my tongue, my works, my thought;
God, rule my mind, body, and heart;
God, rule all gifts from You I got;
God, rule my will, forget-me-not.
God, rule all things, my every part;
God, rule my actions from the start;
God, rule my soul, guide it with art;
God, rule my life till I depart!

During the winter when the weather is too poor to work outside, I do use drawings and photographs, but I change my work so it is not just a time and place study.
Where as in animation you have to kind of do a series of drawings in between to complete the movement.
